RESUMEN

While conventional cancer modalities, such as chemotherapy and radiotherapy, act through direct killing of tumor cells, cancer immunotherapy elicits potent anti-tumor immune responses thereby eliminating tumors. Nevertheless, promising outcomes have not been reported in patients with glioblastoma (GBM) likely due to the immune privileged status of the central nervous system and immunosuppressive micro-environment within GBM. In the past years, several exciting findings, such as the re-discovery of meningeal lymphatic vessels (MLVs), three-dimensional anatomical reconstruction of MLV networks, and the demonstration of the promotion of GBM immunosurveillance by lymphatic drainage enhancement, have revealed an intricate communication between the nervous and immune systems, and brought hope for the development of new GBM treatment. Based on conceptual framework of the updated cancer-immunity (CI) cycle, here we focus on GBM antigen drainage and immune activation, the early events in driving the CI cycle. We also discuss the implications of these findings for developing new therapeutic approaches in tackling fatal GBM in the future.

Hyperactivation of the cyclic-GMP-AMP synthase (cGAS)-stimulator of interferon genes (STING) signalling pathway has been shown to be associated with the development of a variety of inflammatory diseases, and the discovery of an inhibitor of the cGAS-STING signalling pathway holds great promise in the therapeutic interventions. Epimedium flavonoid (EF), a major active ingredient isolated from the medicinal plant Epimedium, has been reported to have good anti-inflammatory activity, but its exact mechanism of action remains unclear. In the present study, we found that EF in mouse bone marrow-derived macrophages (BMDMs), THP-1 (Tohoku Hospital Pediatrics-1) as well as in human peripheral blood mononuclear cells (hPBMC) inhibited the activation of the cGAS-STING signalling pathway, which subsequently led to a decrease in the expression of type I interferon (IFN-ß, CXCL10 and ISG15) and pro-inflammatory cytokines (IL-6 and TNF-α). Mechanistically, EF does not affect STING oligomerization, but inhibits the formation of functional STING signalosome by attenuating the interaction of interferon regulatory factor 3 (IRF3) with STING and TANK-binding kinase 1 (TBK1). Importantly, in vivo experiments, EF has shown promising therapeutic effects on inflammatory diseases mediated by the cGAS-STING pathway, which include the agonist model induced by DMXAA stimulation, the autoimmune inflammatory disease model induced by three prime repair exonuclease 1 (Trex1) deficiency, and the non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) model induced by a pathogenic amino acid and choline deficiency diet (MCD). To summarize, our study suggests that EF is a potent potential inhibitor component of the cGAS-STING signalling pathway for the treatment of inflammatory diseases mediated by the cGAS-STING signalling pathway.

Xing 9 Ling tablet candy (X9LTC) effectively treats alcoholic liver disease (ALD), but its potential mechanism and molecular targets remain unstudied. We aimed to address this gap using network pharmacology. Furthermore, high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) and database analysis revealed a total of 35 active ingredients and 311 corresponding potential targets of X9LTC. Protein interaction analysis revealed PTGS2, JUN, and FOS as its core targets. Enrichment analysis indicated that chemical carcinogenesis-receptor activation, IL-17 and TNF signaling pathway were enriched by multiple core targets, which might be the main pathway of action. Further molecular docking validation showed that the core targets had good binding activities with the identified compounds. Animal experiments showed that X9LTC could reduce the high expression of ALT, AST and TG in the serum of ALD mice, alleviate the lesions in liver tissues, and reverse the high expression of PTGS2, JUN, and FOS proteins in the liver tissues. In this study, we established a method for the determination of X9LTC content for the first time, and predicted its active ingredient and mechanism of action in treating ALD, providing theoretical basis for further research.

In this study, we conducted an examination of knowledge integration concerning action information and assessed the impact of operational on this process. Additionally, we delved into the underlying mechanisms of how operational encoding influences the processing of knowledge integration of action information, utilizing the event-related potential technique. The results of our investigation revealed that operational encoding, encompassing the observed operational encoding and the imagined operational encoding, exhibited superior performance in the integration of action knowledge compared to verbal encoding. This distinction may be attributed to the greater efficiency of operant encoding in activating motor cortical areas, thereby inducing more robust brain activity. These findings suggest the potential advantages of operational encoding in facilitating the integration of knowledge related to movement information at both cognitive and neural levels, underscoring its significant role in the processing of such information. Future studies can further explore the applications of operational encoding in domains, such as motor learning, skill training, and rehabilitation therapy. Such investigations may offer novel insights into enhancing human behavior and motor control.

Antimicrobial resistance has become a global public health concern, and antibiotic resistance genes (ARG) in food are a research focus. In China, probiotics and pasteurized yogurts are the 2 main types of commercially available yogurt, but the distribution and differences of antibiotic-resistant bacteria and gene types in these products are not well known. This study used a shotgun metagenomic approach to analyze 22 different types of yogurt collected from 9 main yogurt-producing areas in China; each type of yogurt included 8 different batches of samples. The abundance and diversity of bacteria identified in probiotic yogurt were significantly higher than those in pasteurized yogurt, with Acetobacter, Raoultella, and Burkholderia identified as unique and highly abundant genera in probiotic yogurt. Similarly, the abundance of Enterococcus faecium, Staphylococcus aureus, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Acinetobacter baumannii, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and Enterobacter spp. was higher than that in pasteurized yogurt. A total of 1,149 ARG subtypes belonging to 16 ARG types were identified, with the highest abundance of rifampicin, multidrug efflux pumps, and quinolone resistance genes detected. Network analysis revealed significant nonrandom co-occurrence relationships between different types and subtypes of ARG in yogurt samples. A total of 44 ARG subtypes in pasteurized yogurt were potentially hosted by 36 bacterial genera, and in probiotic yogurt, 63 ARG were expected to be hosted by 86 bacterial species from 37 genera. These findings indicate potential safety issues in fermented dairy products and emphasize the need for a more hygienic environment when processing probiotic yogurt.

Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) is a natural component widely present in the inner membrane of mitochondria. CoQ10 functions as a key cofactor for adenosine triphosphate (ATP) production and exhibits antioxidant properties in vivo. Mitochondria, as the energy supply center of cells, play a crucial role in germ cell maturation and embryonic development, a complicated process of cell division and cellular differentiation that transforms from a single cell (zygote) to a multicellular organism (fetus). Here, we discuss the effects of CoQ10 on oocyte maturation and the important role of CoQ10 in the growth of various organs during different stages of fetal development. These allowed us to gain a deeper understanding of the pathophysiology of embryonic development and the potential role of CoQ10 in improving fertility quality. They also provide a reference for further developing its application in clinical treatments.

Although gene therapy has shown prospects in treating triple-negative breast cancer, it is insufficient to treat such a malignant tumor. Herein, nanoparticles (NPs)-embedded dissolving microneedles (IR780-PL/pFBXO44@MNs) with steerable and flectional property were developed to achieve the codelivery of FBXO44-targeted CRISPR/Cas9 plasmids (pFBXO44) and hydrophobic photosensitizers. For improved NP penetration in tumor tissue, collagenase@MNs were preapplied to degrade the tumor matrix. Under light irradiation, IR780 exhibited remarkable phototherapy, while the escape efficiency of NPs from lysosomes was improved. pFBXO44 was subsequently released in tumor cell cytoplasm via reducing the disulfide bonds of NPs, which could specifically knock out the FBXO44 gene to inhibit the migration and invasion of tumor cells. As a result, tumor cells were eradicated, and lung metastasis was effectively suppressed. This micelle-incorporated microneedle platform broadens the potential of combining gene editing and photo synergistic cancer therapy.

INTRODUCTION: The efficacy and safety of autologous fat grafting for use in oncology patients are controversial. Patients with head and neck cancer have complex anatomy and require reconstructive repair of the head and neck after comprehensive treatment. The limited additional aesthetic and functional studies on the use of autologous fat fillers in patients with head and neck cancer are unclear. This study systematically evaluates the additional function of autologous fat fillers in the head and neck and systematically reviews issues related to autologous fat grafting after comprehensive head and neck cancer treatment, including current indications, techniques, potential complications, graft survival, and patient satisfaction. METHODS: A systematic literature review was performed using PubMed, The Cochrane Library, EMBASE, and Web of Science (last accessed on January 9, 2023). RESULTS: A total of 249 cases of autologous fat fillers in patients with head and neck cancer were reported in 10 clinical publications. Observations were based mainly on subjective physician and patient evaluation indicators, and all studies reported the beneficial effects of autologous fat fillers on aesthetics and function after treatment for head and neck cancer. CONCLUSIONS: Autologous fat fillers are effective in improving the aesthetics and function of head and neck cancer, and due to the limitations of the original study, future studies with large samples are needed to support this. In order to establish the standardized processing technology of the hot water washing of Euodiae Fructus, this study, based on the traditional processing method of hot water washing of Euodiae Fructus recorded in ancient works and modern processing specifications of traditional Chinese medicine decoction pieces, took the yield of decoction pieces and the content of main components as the indicators and optimized the processing conditions by orthogonal test based on the results of single factor investigation. At the same time, electronic tongue technology was used to analyze the change law of the taste index of Euodiae Fructus during the hot water washing. The results of the single factor investigation showed that the content of the main components in Euodiae Fructus showed some regular changes during the processing. Specifically, the content of chlorogenic acid, hyperin, isorhamnetin-3-O-rutinoside, isorhamnetin-3-O-galactoside, and dehydroevodiamine decreased significantly, with average decreases of-23.75%,-27.80%,-14.04%,-14.03%, and-13.11%, respectively. The content of limonin increased significantly with an average increase of 19.83%. The content of evodiamine, rutaecarpine, evocarpine, and dihydroevocarpine showed fluctuating changes and generally increased, with average variation amplitudes of 0.54%,-3.78%, 2.69%, and 5.13%, respectively. The orthogonal test results showed that the optimum processing parameters for the hot water washing of Euodiae Fructus were as follows: washing time of 2 min, the solid-to-liquid ratio of 1∶10 g·mL~(-1), washing temperature of 80 ℃, washing once, and drying at 50 ℃. After the hot water washing processing, the average yield of Euodiae Fructus pieces was 94.80%. The content of limonin, evodiamine, and rutaecarpine was higher than those of raw pro-ducts, and the average transfer rates were 102.56%, 103.15%, and 105.16%, respectively. The content of dehydroevodiamine was lower than that of the raw products, and the average transfer rate was 83.04%. The results of taste analysis showed that the hot water washing could significantly reduce the salty, astringent, and bitter tastes of Euodiae Fructus. This study revealed the influence of the hot water washing on the content of main components and taste of Euodiae Fructus, and the processing technology of the hot water was-hing of Euodiae Fructus established in this study was stable, feasible, and suitable for industrial production, which laid a foundation for clarifying its processing principle and improving the quality standard and clinical application value of decoction pieces.

Prunus mume is an edible and medicinal material, and Mume Fructus is its processed product, which was first recorded in Shennong's Classic of Materia Medica(Shen Nong Ben Cao Jing). It is an effective drug for stopping diarrhea with astringents and promoting fluid production to quiet ascaris. By consulting the ancient herbal works of the past dynasties, modern codes, and other rela-ted literature, this paper sorted out the medicinal evolution of Mume Fructus, examined the ancient efficacy of Mume Fructus and the main indications, and summarized the inclusion of Mume Fructus in national and provincial standards. It is recorded in the ancient herbal works of the past dynasties that Mume Fructus can be processed by various methods such as roasting, stir-frying or micro-frying, stir-frying with charcoal, single steaming, steaming with wine, and steaming after soaking in wine or vinegar, and prepared into pills, powders, and ointments, which are used in the treatment of fatigue, diabetes, malaria, dysentery, ascariasis, and other diseases. Mume Fructus has been included in nine editions of Chinese Pharmacopoeia and 19 provincial and municipal preparation specifications. The processing method of Mume Fructus is determined, namely, clean P. mume should be softened by moistening in water or steaming and pitted. By reviewing the effects of processing on its chemical composition, pharmacological effects, and its modern clinical application, this paper identified the following issues. The ancient application methods of Mume Fructus are diverse but less commonly used in modern times, there is a lack of standardized research on the processing, and the research on the changes caused by the difference in Mume Fructus before and after processing is not deep. Therefore, it is necessary to further investigate the change pattern of its chemical composition before and after processing and its correlation between its medicinal activity to standardize the processing technology and provide a solid basis for the use of Mume Fructus in parts and its quality control.

TWIK-related acid-sensitive potassium channels (TASKs)-like current was recorded in orexin neurons in the lateral hypothalamus (LH), which are essential in respiratory chemoreflex. However, the specific mechanism responsible for the pH-sensitivity remains elusive. Thus, we hypothesized that TASKs contribute to respiratory chemoreflex. In the present study, we found that TASK1 and TASK3 were expressed in orexin neurons. Blocking TASKs or microinjecting acid artificial cerebrospinal fluid (ACSF) in the LH stimulated breathing. In contrast, alkaline ACSF inhibited breathing, which was attenuated by blocking TASK1. Damage of orexin neurons attenuated the stimulatory effect on respiration caused by microinjection of acid ACSF (at a pH of 6.5) or TASKs antagonists. The orexinA-positive fiber and orexin type 1 receptor (OX1R) neurons were located in the nucleus tractus solitarius (NTS). The exciting effect of acidosis in the LH on respiration was inhibited by blocking OX1R of the NTS. Taken together, we conclude that orexin neurons sense the extracellular pH change through TASKs and regulate respiration by projecting to the NTS.

The quality of raw milk is a key factor influencing the whole dairy processing chain. The richness and diversity of bacteria in raw milk affect its quality and safety. However, traditional microbial detection methods mainly depend on the known microbe culture and are often time consuming. Thus, the development of efficient ways for supervising any possible microbiological contamination is desiderated. In the current work, single-molecule real-time (SMRT) sequencing, developed by Pacific Biosciences (PacBio), was applied to acquire long reads and applied for discrimination of bacteria at species level. Forty samples of raw milk obtained from Beijing, Hebei, Inner Mongolia, Shanghai, and Guangdong in China during summer, autumn, and winter were investigated. Among 35 bacteria species identified in these samples, Acinetobacter albensis, Pseudomonas gessardii, Pseudomonas weihenstephanensis, and Rahnella inusitata were the bacteria with the highest relative abundance in the overall sample, whereas the bacteria with the highest relative abundance in raw milk samples of different origins and seasons are different. Significant differences in bacterial richness and bacterial community diversity in raw milk grouped according to different production areas and different sampling seasons were confirmed by Welch's t-test. Interestingly, the transport distance and transport time positively correlated with the relative abundance of Pseudomonas weihenstephanensis, suggesting that the content of this bacteria was expected to be a standard for evaluating the freshness of raw milk. Pathogens Bacillus cereus and Klebsiella pneumoniae were detected in most samples, indicating that the raw milk was at risk of contamination by pathogenic bacteria. Moreover, the findings of this study provide important evidence for quality and safety monitoring and biological control of raw milk.

Casein was the major protein in the milk of mammals and it was massively lost in the discharged wastewater during dairy product manufacture. This work was aimed at recovering casein from the dairy wastewater by using foam fractionation. In order to improve the foam stability, xanthan gum was used as the foam stabilizer based on the association between protein and polysaccharide. The results of the scanning electron microscope (SEM) and fluorescence emission spectrum suggested that casein could be associated with xanthan gum primarily through electrostatic attraction, which was significantly affected by pH. Moreover, the introduction of xanthan gum had a marked impact on the surface tension, foam ability, foam stability, turbidity, zeta potential and average particle size of casein dispersion. Foam fractionation was performed under the suitable operation condition of pH 6.0, loading liquid volume 400 mL, amount ratio of casein and xanthan gum 1:2, volumetric airflow rate 100 mL/min and pore diameter of gas distributor 0.180 mm. The enrichment ratio and the recovery percentage of casein reached as high as 16.81 and 86.51%, respectively. This work is expected to provide a cost-effective method to recover the trace desired material through improving foam stability based on intermolecular forces.Research highlightsFoam fractionation has been proposed to recover casein from dairy wastewater.Xanthan gum has been used to improve the foam stability of casein.The main interaction between casein and xanthan gum was an electrostatic attraction.Xanthan gum contributed to weakening the flowability of interstitial liquid.

OBJECTIVE: To establish a multiplex real-time fluorescent PCR rapid detection method for simultaneous detection of aflatoxin-producing fungi and three latent toxin-producing fungi in a single system. METHODS: Primers and probes were designed based on the protein activation genes AflR, ITS sequence, ß-tubulin coding region and LS rRNA of aflatoxin-producing fungi, Aspergillusochraceus, Penicillium and Fusarium, respectively. A real-time fluorescent PCR method for simultaneous detection of commontoxin-producing fungi was performed, and the sensitivity and specificity of the method were analyzed by optimizing the reaction components and reaction conditions. RESULTS: The detection limits of the optimized reaction system for aflatoxin-producing fungi, Aspergillusochraceus, Penicillium and Fusarium were 3. 37×10~4, 1. 91×10~4, 1. 53×10~4, 3. 95×10~4 copies/reaction, respectively. CONCLUSION: The multiplex real-time fluorescent PCR assay established in this study is highly specific and sensitive. It can detect toxin-producing fungi within 2 hours and provide technical support for fungal monitoring in food.

An ultra-performance liquid chromatography(UPLC) method integrating characteristic chromatogram and eight terpenoids determination has been established for comparing the differences of Alismatis Rhizoma(Zexie) from different product areas. Thirty-seven batches of crude drugs and thirty batches of prepared slices of Alismatis Rhizoma were analyzed. The obtained data were analyzed by similarity evaluation, principal components analysis(PCA) and partial least squares discriminant analysis(PLS-DA). There were three main characteristic peaks in the characteristic chromatograms, and alisol B 23-acetate(S) was selected as the reference. Compared with the S peak, the relative retention times of the other two characteristic peaks were 0.55(alisol) and 0.77(alisol B), respectively. Peak areas and the ratio of alisol B to alisol B 23-acetate could be used to distinguish Alismatis Rhizoma from different geographical origins. The samples were divided into three groups by PCA and PLS-DA based on the content determination results, and they were "Jian Zexie"(Fujian and Jiangxi provinces), "Chuan Zexie"(Sichuan and Hubei provinces), and "Guang Zexie"(Guangxi province). The contents of chemical components in samples from different producing areas were notably different. For example, the contents of alisol A and alisol A 24-acetate were significantly higher in "Guang Zexie" compared with "Jian Zexie" and "Chuan Zexie"(P<0.000 1). The contents of alisol B and alisol C were significantly higher in "Chuan Zexie" compared with "Jian Zexie"(P<0.000 1). Combining the characteristic chromatograms and quantitative analysis of eight terpenoids, this study showed that the relative contents of components and their ratios were notable different in samples from different regions, but types and numbers of chemical compositions were basically similar. The results of this study illustrated the regional differences of Alismatis Rhizoma and their components characteristics, and provided references for authentication and quality control of Alismatis Rhizoma.

The present research was launched to improve the quality standards of Alismatis Rhizoma and supply scientific evidence and recommendations for the quality control of Alismatis Rhizoma in Chinese Pharmacopoeia(Ch. P) 2020 edition. The contents of water, total ash, heavy metals and deleterious element, pesticide residues and alcohol-soluble extract were analyzed according to the methods listed in the volume Ⅳ of Ch. P 2015 edition. Alisol B 23-acetate, alisol C 23-acetate and reference herbs were used to identify Alismatis Rhizoma by TLC method, which was developed by using a mixture of dichloromethane-methanol(15∶1) as developing solvent on silica gel GF_(254 )precoated plates. In HPLC method, alisol B 23-acetate and alisol C 23-acetate were separated with acetonitrile-water as the mobile phase and detected at 208 nm and 246 nm, respectively. Thirty-seven batches of crude drugs, thirty batches of prepared slices and nineteen batches of salt prepared slices of Alismatis Rhizoma were determined according to the methods established. The quality standards established based on the research results were specific and repeatable, and suitable for the quality evaluation of Alismatis Rhizoma. We recommended that the botanical sources, TLC examination, alcohol-soluble extract of salt prepared slices and content determination should be revised in the Ch. P 2020 edition.

In order to provide scientific recommendations for the revision of the quality standards of Poria in Chinese Pharmacopoeia(Ch. P) 2020 edition, a series of experiments were carried out to improve the quality standards of Poria. TLC methods were established to identify Poria by using pachymic acid, dehydrotumulosic acid and reference herbs as reference substances. The contents of water, total ash, pesticide residues, heavy metals and deleterious element, mycotoxins, sulfur dioxide residues and ethanol-soluble extract of herbal materials and decoction pieces of Poria were determined according to the methods recorded in the volume Ⅳ of Ch. P 2015 edition. An HPLC method was developed for the determination of pachymic acid and dehydropachymic acid. The contents of polysaccharide were determined by spectrophotometry using D-glucose as reference substance. The quality standards were established on the basis of the research results, in which the [assay] were added, and the [identification] and [tests] were revised when compared with Ch. P 2015 edition. The established methods are simple, specific, repeatable, and suitable for the quality evaluation of Poria.

Hepatic stellate cells (HSCs) are the main target of radiation damage and primarily contribute to the development of radiation-induced liver fibrosis. However, the molecular events underlying the radiation-induced activation of HSCs are not fully elucidated. In the present study, human HSC line LX2 was treated with X-ray irradiation and/or TGF-ß1, and profibrogenic molecules were evaluated. The iTRAQ LC-MS/MS technology was performed to identify global protein expression profiles in LX2 following exposure to different stimuli. Irradiation or TGF-ß1 alone increased expression of α-SMA, collagen 1, CTGF, PAI-1, and fibronectin. Irradiation and TGF-ß1 cooperatively induced expression of these profibrotic markers. In total, 102, 137, 155 dysregulated proteins were identified in LX2 cell samples affected by irradiation, TGF-ß1, or cotreatment, respectively. Bioinformatic analyses showed that the three differentially expressed protein sets were commonly associated with cell cycle and protein processing in endoplasmic reticulum. The expression of a set of proteins was properly validated: CDC20, PRC1, KIF20A, CCNB1, SHCBP, TACC3 were upregulated upon irradiation or irradiation and TGF-ß1 costimulation, whereas SPARC and THBS1 were elevated by TGF-ß1 or TGF-ß1 plus irradiation treatment. Furthermore, CDC20 inhibition suppressed expression of profibrotic markers in irradiated and TGF-ß1-stimulated LX2 cells. Detailed data on potential molecular mechanisms causing the radiation-induced HSC activation presented here would be instrumental in developing radiotherapy strategies that minimize radiation-induced liver fibrosis.

To broaden the absorption spectrum, improve intramolecular electronic push-pull balance capability, enhance electron transfer and promote the photovoltaic performances of dye sensitizers, four new polymeric metal complex dyes (PBDTT-PhenCd, PBDTT-PhenCu, PPV-PhenCd and PPV-PhenCu) with donor-acceptor-π-bridge-acceptor (D-A-π-A) structure were designed and synthesized. These dyes, for the first time, used the complexes of Cd(ii) or Cu(ii) with phenanthroline as auxiliary electron acceptors (A) instead of organic electron withdrawing groups and adopted thienylbenzo [1,2-b:4,5-b'] dithiophene (BDTT) or hydroquinone (PV) derivatives as electron donors (D) and 8-quinolinol derivatives as π bridge and acceptors (A). The impacts of different auxiliary electron acceptors (A) of metal complexes due to their thermal, optical, electrochemical properties and photovoltaic performance were also investigated. The best power conversion efficiency of 6.68% was achieved in PBDTT-PhenCd DSSC device. In addition, all dyes showed outstanding thermal stability (Td > 300 °C). The results revealed that these novel polymeric metal complex dyes are potential materials for constructing new sensitizers of high performance.

To screen potential biomarkers of curcumin related to treating depression rats by using metabolomics means, so as to explore the antidepressant action mechanism of curcumin. The healthy male SD rats were randomly divided into four groups. Chronic unpredictable mild stress (CUMS) stimulation was conducted for modeling for 2 weeks, and then curcumin (200 mg•kg⁻¹) or venlafaxine (40 mg•kg⁻¹) was given by gavage administration. The blank group and model group rats were given with the same volume of 1% CMCNa normal saline, once per day for two weeks. The rats serum for each group was collected and LC/MS-IT-TOF method was used to characterize the metabolic differences. Also multivariate statistical analysis was used to screen possible potential biomarkers and analyze the possible metabolic pathways. After administration of curcumin and venlafaxine respectively, the depression indexes of CUMS model rats were all improved significantly (P<0.05), but there were no significant differences between curcumin and venlafaxine groups. In PCA and PLS-DA analysis after curcumin or venlafaxine intervention on CUMS model group rats, the small molecule metabolites level reflects a normal trend, and particularly for the curcumin group. Through metabonomics technology, 11 biomarkers associated with curcumin antidepressant effect were screened, and at the same time seven metabolic pathways were involved. The results showed that curcumin had antidepressant effects, which was evident in both macro and micro levels, comparable with positive drug of venlafaxine. The antidepressant effect of curcumin may be associated with the glycerol phospholipid metabolism, linoleic acid metabolism, pentose and glucuronic acid ester and ether lipid metabolism, but still need further exploration in the future.
