Conocimientos y hábitos de cuidado: efecto de una intervención educativa para disminuir el riesgo de pie diabético / Care knowledge and habits effect of an educational intervention to reduce the risk of diabetic foot
Estudio pre-experimental, con tres mediciones antes, al finalizar y seis meses después de la intervención educativa. La intervención educativa, basada en metodología participativa, se desarrolló en 10 sesiones semanales de dos horas cada una. Se implementó a 77 integrantes de grupos de ayuda mutua. Variables estudiadas nivel de conocimientos sobre el cuidado de los pies, hábitos de cuidado de los pies y condiciones físicas de los pies.
Resultados:
El análisis estadístico de las tres variables mostró diferencia significativa (p>0,001) entre las medias del pretest y el postest, lo que puede atribuirse al efecto y retención de lo aprendido durante la intervención. El 49.3% de la población de estudio se identificaron con nivel de riesgo 1 para sufrir pie diabético.
Pre-experimental study, with three measurement moments pretest, posttest and a test six months after the educational intervention. The intervention was developed in ten sessions with 77 members of mutual-help groups in the state of San Luis Potosí. Studied variables knowledge of foot-care habits and foot condition.
Results:
The statistical analysis of these variables showed a significant difference (p> 0.001) between the pretest and posttest, which can be attributed to the effect and retention of what was learnt during intervention. 49.3% of the study population was identified as having risk level 1 for the development of diabetic foot.
