Representações sociais de suicídio entre voluntários do Centro de Valorização da Vida / Social representations of suicide among volunteers from Centro de Valorização da Vida

RESUMO

No Brasil, as taxas de suicídio apresentaram aumento nos últimos anos, configurando o fenômeno como grave problema de saúde pública. O Centro de Valorização da Vida (CVV) e os seus voluntários atuam como principal alternativa filantrópica nacional para a prevenção do suicídio. Compreender como os voluntários do CVV representam o fenômeno se faz necessário para entender as práticas de prevenção realizadas na instituição. Portanto, este estudo objetivou analisar o conteúdo do campo representacional associado ao objeto de representação suicídio pelos voluntários do CVV Vitória/ES. Foram entrevistados 19 voluntários do CVV Vitória/ES, com instrumento baseado em roteiro semiestruturado. Para análise dos dados, foram utilizados os recursos da Análise de Conteúdo. Os resultados apontaram para a organização do campo representacional referente ao suicídio a partir de três categorias temáticas principais 1) Memórias e vivências o voluntário do CVV; 2) Risco e proteção; e 3) Suicídio como o avaliam e como se sentem os voluntários do CVV. Discute-se acerca da dimensão afetiva das representações sociais de suicídio entre os voluntários, bem como a atribuição da adolescência como principal grupo de risco e a ancoragem do objeto de representação suicídio em conhecimentos religiosos e científicos

ABSTRACT

In Brazil, suicide rates have increased in recent years, configuring the phenomenon as a public health problem. The Centro de Valorização da Vida (CVV) and its volunteers act as the main national philanthropic alternative for suicide prevention. Understanding how CVV volunteers represent the phenomenon is necessary to understand the prevention practices carried out in the institution. Therefore, this study aimed to analyze the content of the representational field associated with the representation object suicide by the volunteers of CVV Vitória/ES. Nineteen volunteers from CVV Vitória/ES were interviewed, using an instrument based on a semi-structured script. Content Analysis resources were used for data analysis. The results pointed to the organization of the representational field referring to suicide from three main thematic categories 1) Memories and experiences the CVV volunteer; 2) Risk and protection; and 3) Suicide how CVV volunteers evaluate it and how they feel. The affective dimension of the social representations of suicide among the volunteers is discussed, as well as the attribution of adolescence as the main risk group and the anchoring of the suicide representation object in religious and scientific knowledge
