RESUMO
â¢Overall prognosis of uterine leiomyosarcoma (ULMS) is poor with a low 5-year survival rate.â¢Microsatellite instability (MSI)-high ULMS is not well documented in current literature.â¢Immune checkpoint inhibitors such as pembrolizumab have been shown to have good efficacy in treating MSI-high solid tumors.â¢Targeting MSI-high ULMS with pembrolizumab can potentially maintain a patient's quality of life and extend overall survival.
RESUMO
â¢CNS metastases involving leptomeninges (LM) are extremely rare in patients with ovarian cancer.â¢Prognosis for ovarian cancer patients with LM metastases is very poor and treatment is palliative in nature.â¢Chemotherapy is administered intrathecally via an Ommaya reservoir or intra-CSF via repeated lumbar punctures.â¢Early recognition of LM metastases can help maintain the patients' quality of life by minimizing neurological deficits.
