OBJECTIVE: We conducted this study to determine whether alcohol consumption influences radiological progression in early rheumatoid arthritis (RA). METHOD: Patients fulfilling the European League Against Rheumatism/American College of Rheumatology 2010 criteria in the early arthritis cohort ESPOIR (Étude et Suivi des Polyarthrites Indifférenciées Récentes) were included in this study. Alcohol consumption was collected at baseline and at each visit. We classified alcohol consumption into three groups: abstinent (0 g/day), moderate (≤ 20 g/day for women, ≤ 30 g/day for men), and abuse (> 20 g/day for women, > 30 g/day for men). The primary outcome was the occurrence of radiological progression, defined as an increase ≥ 5 points in the total Sharp/van der Heijde score. We investigated whether alcohol consumption is predictive of radiological progression at 1, 3, and 5 years by univariate and multivariate analysis adjusted for age, baseline erosion, rheumatoid factor, anti-citrullinated peptide antibody, smoking status, body mass index, and treatment with leflunomide or methotrexate and biologics. RESULTS: The study included 596 patients. When considering the influence of gender on the interaction between alcohol consumption and radiological progression, we showed a deleterious effect of moderate consumption in women [odds ratio (OR) = 1.73, 95% confidence interval (CI) 1.01; 2.96, p = 0.045] and a trend towards a protective effect of moderate consumption in men (OR = 0.50, 95% CI 0.21; 1.16, p = 0.106) in multivariate analysis. CONCLUSION: Our data suggest a deleterious effect of moderate consumption of alcohol on radiological progression in women, but not in men, with early RA.

OBJECTIVES: Little data are available regarding the rate and predicting factors of serious infections in patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) treated with abatacept (ABA) in daily practice. We therefore addressed this issue using real-life data from the Orencia and Rheumatoid Arthritis (ORA) registry. METHODS: ORA is an independent 5-year prospective registry promoted by the French Society of Rheumatology that includes patients with RA treated with ABA. At baseline, 3 months, 6 months and every 6 months or at disease relapse, during 5 years, standardised information is prospectively collected by trained clinical nurses. A serious infection was defined as an infection occurring during treatment with ABA or during the 3 months following withdrawal of ABA without any initiation of a new biologic and requiring hospitalisation and/or intravenous antibiotics and/or resulting in death. RESULTS: Baseline characteristics and comorbidities: among the 976 patients included with a follow-up of at least 3 months (total follow-up of 1903 patient-years), 78 serious infections occurred in 69 patients (4.1/100 patient-years). Predicting factors of serious infections: on univariate analysis, an older age, history of previous serious or recurrent infections, diabetes and a lower number of previous anti-tumour necrosis factor were associated with a higher risk of serious infections. On multivariate analysis, only age (HR per 10-year increase 1.44, 95% CI 1.17 to 1.76, p=0.001) and history of previous serious or recurrent infections (HR 1.94, 95% CI 1.18 to 3.20, p=0.009) were significantly associated with a higher risk of serious infections. CONCLUSIONS: In common practice, patients treated with ABA had more comorbidities than in clinical trials and serious infections were slightly more frequently observed. In the ORA registry, predictive risk factors of serious infections include age and history of serious infections.

OBJECTIVE: To describe cases of lymphoma associated with anti-TNF therapy, identify risk factors, estimate the incidence and compare the risks for different anti-TNF agents. METHODS: A national prospective registry was designed (Research Axed on Tolerance of bIOtherapies; RATIO) to collect all cases of lymphoma in French patients receiving anti-TNF therapy from 2004 to 2006, whatever the indication. A case-control analysis was conducted including two controls treated with anti-TNF per case and an incidence study of lymphoma with the French population was used as the reference. RESULTS: 38 cases of lymphoma, 31 non-Hodgkin's lymphoma (NHL) (26 B cell and five T cell), five Hodgkin's lymphoma (HL) and two Hodgkin's-like lymphoma were collected. Epstein-Barr virus was detected in both of two Hodgkin's-like lymphoma, three of five HL and one NHL. Patients receiving adalimumab or infliximab had a higher risk than those treated with etanercept: standardised incidence ratio (SIR) 4.1 (2.3-7.1) and 3.6 (2.3-5.6) versus 0.9 (0.4-1.8). The exposure to adalimumab or infliximab versus etanercept was an independent risk factor for lymphoma in the case-control study: odds ratio 4.7 (1.3-17.7) and 4.1 (1.4-12.5), respectively. The sex and age-adjusted incidence rate of lymphoma was 42.1 per 100 000 patient-years. The SIR was 2.4 (95% CI 1.7 to 3.2). CONCLUSION: The two to threefold increased risk of lymphoma in patients receiving anti-TNF therapy is similar to that expected for such patients with severe inflammatory diseases. Some lymphomas associated with immunosuppression may occur, and the risk of lymphoma is higher with monoclonal-antibody therapy than with soluble-receptor therapy.

OBJECTIVE: To determine whether joint destruction, indication for, and response to infliximab in rheumatoid arthritis are associated with the shared epitope (SE) or selected cytokine gene polymorphisms (interleukin (IL) 1B, IL1-RN, and tumour necrosis alpha). METHODS: In a large rheumatoid arthritis population of 930 patients from the same area (Rhône-Alpes, France), patients with (n = 198) or without infliximab treatment (n = 732) were compared according to their genetic status. Clinical, biological, and radiological data were collected. Typing for SE status and cytokine polymorphisms was carried out using enzyme linked oligosorbent assay. Statistical analysis was by chi(2) testing and calculation of odds ratios (OR). RESULTS: A dose relation was observed between the number of SE copies and joint damage in the whole rheumatoid population (OR, 1 v 0 SE copy = 2.38 (95% confidence interval, 1.77 to 3.19), p<0.001; OR 2 v 0 SE copy = 3.92 (2.65 to 5.80), p<0.001. The SE effect increased with disease duration but was not significant before two years. Selection for infliximab treatment (n = 198) was associated with increased disease activity, joint damage, and the presence of the SE with a dose effect. In all, 66.2% patients achieved an ACR20 improvement. No clinical or genetic factors were able to predict the clinical response to infliximab. CONCLUSIONS: This post-marketing study in a large cohort of rheumatoid arthritis patients indicates a linkage between rheumatoid arthritis severity, selection for treatment with infliximab, and the presence and dose of the SE.

OBJECTIVE: To evaluate a possible association between wrist and periodontal destruction in rheumatoid arthritis, and between periodontal destruction, dry mouth, and labial salivary gland biopsy and the contribution of genetic factors (the shared epitope (SE) and IL1B (+3954) or TNFA (-238 or -308) gene polymorphisms). METHODS: 147 patients with rheumatoid arthritis were enrolled. Periodontal damage was defined according to the Hugoson and Jordan criteria on panoramic dental x rays. Typing for the SE and cytokine polymorphisms was undertaken by enzyme linked oligosorbent assay. Odds ratios (OR), relative risk (RR), and chi2 values were calculated to quantify associations. RESULTS: An association was observed between wrist and periodontal bone destruction (chi2=11.82; p<0.001): 63 patients had both wrist and periodontal destruction, 31 had wrist destruction alone, 20 had periodontal destruction alone, and 33 had no destruction at either site. An association was seen between a positive labial salivary gland biopsy and periodontal bone destruction (RR=2.73 (95% CI, 1.35 to 5.51), p<0.01, n=41) or wrist bone destruction (RR=4.52 (1.96 to 10.45), p<0.001, n=41). The SE was associated with wrist bone destruction (OR=2.5 (1.16 to 5.42), p<0.05) and periodontal bone destruction (OR=2.2 (1.04 to 4.84), p<0.05). No association was found between the selected cytokine polymorphisms and bone destruction. CONCLUSIONS: A strong association was found between wrist and periodontal bone destruction. The destruction risk was further increased in patients with sicca syndrome. The SE appears to be a severity genetic marker for both wrist and periodontal bone destruction.

BACKGROUND: Osteofluorosis is caused by chronic fluoride intoxication. Fluoride is used in toothpaste for the prevention of dental caries, and dental fluorosis has often been reported among children and attributed to ingestion of fluoride toothpaste. We report a case of chronic fluoride intoxication caused by excess use of toothpaste in an adult. CASE: A 45-year-old woman consulted a rheumatologist for painful swelling of the fingers, phalangeal rather than articular. She also had brown staining on her teeth. Radiography of the hands showed periosteal apposition on the phalanges. Further work-up ruled out tumoral or thyroid causes. Laboratory tests showed elevated fluoride levels in the blood (50.9 micromol/L, normal<1.5 micromol/L) and in the urine (721 micromol/L, normal<46 micromol/L). On questioning, we found only one cause for chronic fluoride intoxication: excess and unusual use of toothpaste. The patient brushed her teeth 18 times a day and swallowed the toothpaste, because she liked the taste. She consumed a tube of toothpaste every 2 days, thereby swallowing 68.5 mg of fluoride every day. Suspecting fluorosis from toothpaste, we asked the patient to use a toothpaste without fluoride. Sixteen weeks later, the pain had ceased, and laboratory tests showed massively reduced but still elevated fluoride levels in the blood (6.9 micromol/L) and urine (92.7 micromol/L). CONCLUSION: In this rare case of fluoride intoxication, misuse of a normally innocuous product caused osteofluorosis.

BACKGROUND: Only sporadic cases of prostate carcinomas with squamous differentiation have been reported. DESIGN: The files of two institutions were reviewed for prostate cancers with squamous differentiation. RESULTS: A total of 33 cases were studied. The average age at diagnosis was 68 years (range 49-86 years). The most common presenting symptoms included bladder outlet obstruction and dysuria. Thirteen men had a positive digital rectal examination. Diagnosis was made by needle biopsy (n = 23); transurethral resection of the prostate (n = 5); needle and transurethral resection of the prostate (n = 1); transurethral resection of the bladder (n = 1); or biopsy of metastases (n = 3). In 21 of 33 cases, there was a prior diagnosis of adenocarcinoma of the prostate; 8 patients were treated with hormones, 4 were treated with radiation, and 1 received both radiation and hormone therapy. Of the 12 men without a prior diagnosis of adenocarcinoma, 2 patients had received hormonal therapy for benign prostatic hyperplasia. Eight of 33 cases were pure squamous carcinomas. The remaining cases were adenosquamous carcinoma (n = 16), adenosquamous and urothelial carcinoma (n = 3), and adenosquamous carcinoma and sarcoma (n = 6). The squamous carcinoma component of these mixed cases averaged 40% of the tumor volume (range 5%-95%) and had a range of cytologic atypia (mild [n = 6], moderate [n = 17], severe [n = 10]). In the 25 cases with adenocarcinoma, the glandular component tended to be high-grade (Gleason grade >6 in 19 cases). Immunohistochemistry for prostate specific acid phosphatase and prostate specific antigen was positive in a large percentage of the adenocarcinomas (85% and 75%, respectively) and only very focally positive in 12% of the squamous carcinomas. 34 beta E12 was diffusely positive in >95% of the squamous carcinomas and only focally positive in <10% of the adenocarcinomas. Cytokeratins 7 and 20 did not differentiate the squamous and adenocarcinoma components. Follow-up was available on 25 of 33 cases, with the average survival being 24 months (range 0-63 months). CONCLUSION: Squamous differentiation in prostate cancer is uncommon, often but not necessarily arising in the setting of prior hormone or radiation therapy, and is associated with a poor prognosis. In addition to pure squamous cell carcinoma and adenosquamous cancer, other patterns may be seen. Whereas the adenocarcinoma component is typically high grade, the squamous component has a wide range of differentiation.

OBJECTIVES: To compare the immunohistochemical properties of the 7E11 anti-prostate-specific membrane antigen (anti-PSMA) monoclonal antibody (mAb) with the recently developed anti-PSMA mAb, PM2J004.5, and with other common immunomarkers in metastatic prostate cancer. PSMA is a type II integral membrane glycoprotein highly expressed in prostate cancer cells. The mAb 7E11 is currently used in the radioisotopic evaluation of prostate cancer, and its immunohistochemical properties have been examined in primary prostate cancer specimens. METHODS: We examined 23 formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded, metastatic prostate carcinoma specimens from various anatomic sites, including bone, lymph node, liver, lung, and soft tissue. Using the biotin-streptavidin method, we performed immunohistochemical reactions with the anti-PSMA mAbs 7E11 and PM2J004.5 and with antibodies to prostate-specific antigen and prostatic acid phosphatase. The immunoreactions were scored by pathologists unaware of the clinical and pathologic data according to a staining intensity scale and the percentage of cells stained. RESULTS: All four mAbs consistently stained the metastatic prostate cancer specimens. In 2 (8.7%) of 23 cases, however, the prostate-specific antigen immunoreaction was negative but the anti-PSMA mAbs had positive staining. Although 7E11 and PM2J004.5 had a similar staining intensity and percentage of cells stained for most specimens, in 3 (13%) of 23 specimens, 7E11 had less intense staining. None of the specimens were negative for all four antibodies. CONCLUSIONS: Anti-PSMA mAbs consistently immunoreacted with metastatic prostate cancer specimens and were positive in instances when prostate-specific antigen staining was negative. The anti-PSMA mAbs demonstrated similar staining patterns; however, in select cases, the PM2J004.5 mAb did show more intense staining. The anti-PSMA mAbs 7E11 and PM2J004.5 are useful in the pathologic evaluation of paraffin-embedded metastatic prostate cancer specimens.

OBJECTIVES: To determine whether the tumor-associated neovasculature of metastatic prostate and metastatic conventional (clear cell) renal carcinoma express prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA). PSMA is a type II integral membrane glycoprotein highly expressed in prostate cancer cells and also recently discovered to be expressed in the neovasculature of non-prostatic primary malignancies. METHODS: We examined metastatic prostate carcinoma (22 patients) and metastatic conventional (clear cell) renal carcinoma (20 patients) in various anatomic sites, including bone, lymph nodes, liver, lung, and soft tissue. Using the biotin-streptavidin method, we performed immunohistochemical reactions with the anti-PSMA monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) 7E11 and PM2J004.5 and with the anti-endothelial cell mAb CD34. RESULTS: Metastatic conventional (clear cell) renal carcinoma consistently expressed PSMA. The PM2J004.5 mAb was positive in 20 of 20 specimens, and the 7E11 mAb was positive in 15 of 20. The anti-PSMA immunoreactions with the neovasculature were confirmed by similar staining by the anti-CD34 mAb (20 of 20). Although the metastatic prostatic cancer cells expressed PSMA in all the specimens, only 2 of 22 had neovasculature PSMA expression. CONCLUSIONS: As in primary prostatic adenocarcinomas, the neovasculature of metastatic prostate cancer, regardless of site, rarely express PSMA. The neovascular endothelial cells of metastatic clear cell renal carcinoma, however, express PSMA. This expression may make PSMA an effective target for mAb-based antineovasculature therapy in metastatic renal carcinoma.

Tissue inhibitors of metalloproteinases (TIMPs) were initially described as agents controlling metalloproteinase activity. The purpose of this study was to investigate the expression and the roles of TIMP-1 secreted by Epstein-Barr-virus (EBV)-immortalized B lymphocytes. TIMP-1 was isolated from conditioned medium of interleukin (IL)-1beta stimulated EBV-B lymphocytes; purified TIMP-1 was identified by mass spectrometry and immunochemistry. TIMP-1-free MMP-9 was quantified after purification by zymography and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. EBV-B lymphocyte-secreted TIMP-1 inhibited MMP-9 gelatinolytic activity resulting in decreased B-cell transmigration as measured in vitro. The release of huge amounts of TIMP-1 in proportion to MMP-9 from B lymphocytes after EBV transformation was shown to be correlated with secretion of IL-10 and dependent on culture time. In contrast, there was little TIMP-1 and almost no IL-10 released from native B cells, suggesting a possible IL-10 mediated autocrine regulation mechanism of TIMP-1 synthesis. The MMP-9/TIMP-1 imbalance observed in the culture medium of EBV-B lymphocytes (TIMP-1>MMP-9) and of native B cells (MMP-9>TIMP-1) is suggestive of a new function for TIMP-1. We propose that TIMP-1 acts as a survival factor controlling B-cell growth and apoptosis through an autocrine regulation process involving IL-10 secreted by EBV-B lymphocytes.

Morphologic features alone can usually be used to distinguish prostatic adenocarcinoma and urothelial carcinoma of the urinary bladder. Poorly differentiated tumors, however, can occasionally have features of both neoplasms, making determination of site of origin difficult. No study has provided a panel of antibodies to assist in the distinction of these two tumors. For this study, 73 examples of moderately and poorly differentiated prostatic adenocarcinoma and 46 examples of high-grade urothelial carcinoma were obtained from radical resection specimens. Immunohistochemical studies were performed using the following panel of antibodies: cytokeratin (CK) 7, CK 20, 34betaE12, Leu M1, carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA)m, CEAp, p53, Leu 7, prostate-specific acid phosphatase (PSAP), prostate-specific antigen (PSA), and B72.3. Mucicarmine was also performed. Intermediate and high-grade prostatic carcinoma were compared and then high-grade prostatic carcinoma was compared with high-grade urothelial carcinoma. PSA and PSAP each stained 94% of prostatic adenocarcinomas, but no urothelial carcinomas. Leu 7 stained 94% of prostate and 17% of urothelial carcinomas. Over half of the urothelial carcinomas showed positivity for 34betaE12 (65%), as did two cases of prostatic carcinoma (6%). Eighty-three percent of urothelial carcinomas and 12% of prostatic adenocarcinomas stained with CK 7. Forty-one percent of urothelial carcinomas and 12% of prostatic carcinomas were reactive for CEAm, and p53 stained 33% and 3% of urothelial and prostatic adenocarcinomas, respectively. No significant difference was seen in the expression of CEAp, CK 20, B72.3, Leu M1, or mucicarmine between prostate and urothelial carcinoma. We propose a panel of six antibodies to assist in the distinction of high-grade prostatic adenocarcinoma from high grade urothelial carcinoma: PSA, PSAP, 34betaE12, Leu 7, CK 7, and p53. The first three antibodies should be used initially; if results are negative, the remaining antibodies may be employed.

RESUMO

Prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA) is a potential target in prostate cancer patients because it is very highly expressed and because it has been reported to be upregulated by androgen deprivation. This overview addresses the expression of the PSMA gene in terms of the promoter and enhancer and how that may play a role in gene therapy. We also review PSMA as a target for antibodies for imaging and treatment and the development of a novel hybrid T-cell receptor that combines the specificity of anti-PSMA antibodies with that of T-cell receptor activation when introduced into primary lymphocytes by retroviral-mediated gene transfer. We also discuss our recent findings on the expression of a PSMA-like gene and how that understanding allows specific targeting of PSMA.

OBJECTIVES: To determine whether the recently identified multiple sclerosis-associated retrovirus, MSRV, is detectable in the serum and synovial fluid of patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA). METHODS: A reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) assay was used to seek evidence of particle-associated MSRV/HERV-W RNA in the plasma and synovial fluid of patients with RA and controls. Stringent precautions were taken to avoid detection of contaminating human genomic DNA and cellular RNA sequences. RESULTS: Thirty-seven plasma samples were tested (20 from RA patients and 17 from controls) but none had detectable MSRV/HERV-W RNA. Synovial fluid samples were available from nine patients with RA and 10 controls. Particle-associated MSRV/HERV-W RNA was reproducibly detected in two of nine synovial fluid samples from RA patients and in one control sample. The identity of RT-PCR products was confirmed by sequencing. CONCLUSION: MSRV/HERV-W RNA sequences are detectable in the synovial fluid of a small proportion of RA patients, but this phenomenon may not be specific to RA.

Renal schwannomas are extraordinarily rare neoplasms; only six have been reported, the majority of which occurred in the renal pelvis. We report the clinical and pathologic features of four additional cases. The resected kidney in all patients contained a well-demarcated, yellow-tan, smooth, and bulging intraparenchymal tumor (mean size, 9.7 cm; range, 4 to 16 cm). Microscopically, three cases were classified as cellular schwannomas, and one was a usual-type schwannoma, with degenerative nuclear atypia. By immunohistochemistry, all tumors were strongly S-100 protein positive and negative for pan-cytokeratin, CD57, smooth muscle actin, desmin, and CD34. Epithelial elements were not noted in the tumors, and there was no history of any clinical syndromes in these patients. Analysis of the four cases showed the mean age at presentation to be 47 years (range, 18 to 84 years), with no sex predisposition (two men, two women). Most patients were asymptomatic, and all received a diagnosis of renal cell carcinoma and treated as having such. Recognition and awareness of these rare, benign tumors will assist in the differential diagnosis of spindle cell tumors of the kidney and prevent their misdiagnosis as sarcomatoid carcinomas of the kidney or renal sarcomas. Our study, the largest series to date of renal schwannomas, demonstrates a predilection for the cellular variant in the kidney, documents that these tumors may present in the nonhilar region of the kidney, and provides clinical evidence of their benign biologic behavior.

The recognition that both human and murine retroviruses can cause motor neurone disease-like syndromes has raised the possibility that a retrovirus may be involved in the aetiology of motor neurone disease. This possibility was explored by looking for evidence of reverse transcriptase in the serum of motor neurone disease patients. Sera from 56 patients with motor neurone disease and 58 controls were tested by the product-enhanced reverse transcriptase assay, a technique that is approximately a million fold more sensitive than conventional reverse transcriptase assays and capable of detecting very low numbers of retroviral particles. Cell-free reverse transcriptase activity was detected in the serum of 33 of the 56 motor neurone disease patients (59%) but in only 3 of the controls (P < 0.00001). The reverse transcriptase activity was detectable in the presence of a large excess of an effective inhibitor of human cellular DNA polymerases and was therefore tentatively considered to be compatible with a retroviral origin. The reverse transcriptase activity, however, was not found to be due to the presence of known human exogenous retroviruses including HIV-1, HIV-2, HTLV-I, HTLV-II, HRV-5 or human foamy virus, as assessed by PCR-based assays. Further investigations will be required to determine the source of the reverse transcriptase activity observed in these motor neurone disease patient sera.

BACKGROUND: Prostate specific membrane antigen (PSMA) is a transmembrane glycoprotein highly expressed in benign prostate secretory-acinar epithelium and prostate carcinoma. The results of several studies suggest that PSMA expression is increased in prostate carcinoma cell lines subjected to androgen deprivation and in androgen-independent tumors. The authors studied the effects of short term (3-month) androgen deprivation on PSMA expression in prostate carcinoma specimens using two anti-PSMA monoclonal antibodies (mAbs), 7E11 and PM2J004.5. METHODS: The study included patients with clinically localized prostate carcinoma who were prospectively randomized into 1 of 2 treatment groups: 3 months of neoadjuvant androgen deprivation therapy followed by radical prostatectomy (ADT/RP), or radical prostatectomy (RP) alone. Representative formalin fixed, paraffin embedded prostate sections were immunostained with the anti-PSMA mAbs 7E11 and PM2J004.5 by the streptavidin-biotin method. The authors recorded the staining intensity and the percentage of positive cells stained in benign epithelium, high grade prostatic intraepithelial neoplasia (PIN), and prostate carcinoma. They compared the results of 7E11 with those of PM2J004.5 in benign epithelium, high grade prostate, and carcinoma and also compared the results between the two treatment groups (ADT/RP vs. RP alone). RESULTS: Both anti-PSMA mAbs stained benign secretory-acinar epithelium, high grade PIN, and prostate carcinoma. In both treatment groups, PM2J004.5 reacted with a significantly greater percentage of cells (P < 0.001) and with significantly greater intensity (P < 0.001) compared with 7E11 in benign epithelium and prostate carcinoma. With both anti-PSMA mAbs, the percentage of cells stained and the intensity of staining in high grade PIN was similar to that in prostate carcinoma. In the group that received RP alone, the percentage of cells stained and the intensity of staining with 7E11 were significantly greater in high grade PIN and prostate carcinoma compared with benign epithelium (P < 0.001), and the intensity of staining with the PM2J004.5 was significantly greater in high grade PIN and prostate carcinoma compared with benign epithelium (P < 0.001). In the ADT/RP group, the percentage of cells stained and the intensity of staining with 7E11 and PM2J004.5 were significantly greater in prostate carcinoma compared with benign epithelium (P < 0.006). PSMA staining did not correlate with either Gleason score (in the group that received RP alone) or pathologic stage (in both the RP-alone and ADT/RP groups) and did not differ between the two treatment groups. CONCLUSIONS: Short term neoadjuvant ADT does not affect PSMA expression in benign prostate secretory-acinar epithelium, high grade PIN, or prostate carcinoma. Prostate carcinoma and high grade PIN express significantly higher levels of PSMA than benign prostate secretory-acinar epithelium. Compared with 7E11, the PM2J004.5 anti-PSMA mAb is a more sensitive immunohistochemical marker of prostate carcinoma in formalin fixed, paraffin embedded tissue.
