RESUMO

This case report highlights the management of complications from an open abdomen following surgery for ovarian mucinous adenocarcinoma, a rare subtype of ovarian cancer. A 63-year-old female underwent extensive surgery, including single-port laparoscopic total bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy, right hemicolectomy, small bowel resection, cholecystectomy, and jejunostomy. Postoperatively, she experienced bile leakage, leading to significant skin and fascial damage and an abdominal skin defect. Early detection and multidisciplinary management were crucial. Treatment involved vacuum-assisted closure dressing, repeated debridement, and closure of the open abdomen with a local flap. This case emphasizes the complexities of managing ovarian mucinous adenocarcinoma and the critical role of a multidisciplinary approach in treating postoperative complications, underscoring the importance of vigilant postoperative care and timely intervention.

Background and Objectives: The 1444 nm wavelength Neodymium:Yttrium-Aluminum-Garnet (Nd:YAG) laser treatment is an efficient method for treating axillary osmidrosis (AO); however, it has a relatively low treatment persistence. To address this issue, we performed integrated liposuction surgery with a laser to treat AO and compared the results with those of a group treated only with a laser. Materials and Methods: This study compared the outcomes of AO treatment between the two groups up to six months postoperatively. The first group of 18 patients underwent laser treatment alone, and the second group of 12 patients underwent integrated liposuction surgery in addition to laser treatment. Outcomes were assessed using the following variables: degree of malodor (DOM), sweating area, patient satisfaction, pain levels, and complications, such as burns, swelling, and contractures. Results: Compared to the laser-only group, the integrated liposuction group demonstrated significantly superior outcomes in terms of DOM (p = 0.002) and patient satisfaction (p = 0.006), as well as a reduction in the sweating area (p = 0.012). The pain rating was higher in the liposuction group, but the difference was not statistically significant (p = 0.054). Compared with the patients in the integrated liposuction treatment group, those in the laser treatment group exhibited a significantly higher number of burns under the axillae (p = 0.025). However, no significant differences were observed in the swelling or contracture between the groups. Conclusions: Integrated liposuction with laser therapy significantly improved treatment outcomes, including malodor, patient satisfaction, sweat test results, and decreased complication rates.

Abnormal adipose tissue formation is associated with metabolic disorders such as obesity, diabetes, and liver and cardiovascular diseases. Thus, identifying the novel factors that control adipogenesis is crucial for understanding these conditions and developing targeted treatments. In this study, we identified the melanosome-related factor MLPH as a novel adipogenic factor. MLPH was induced during the adipogenesis of 3T3-L1 cells and human mesenchymal stem cells. Although MLPH did not affect lipid metabolism, such as lipogenesis or lipolysis, adipogenesis was severely impaired by MLPH depletion. We observed that MLPH prevented excess reactive oxygen species (ROS) accumulation and lipid peroxidation during adipogenesis and in mature adipocytes. In addition, increased MLPH expression was observed under cirrhotic conditions in liver cancer cells and its overexpression also reduced ROS and lipid peroxidation. Our findings demonstrate that MLPH is a novel adipogenic factor that maintains redox homeostasis by preventing lipid peroxidation and ROS accumulation, which could lead to metabolic diseases.

The European Society for Radiotherapy and Oncology-Advisory Committee in Radiation Oncology Practice (ESTRO-ACROP) updated a new target volume delineation guideline for postmastectomy radiotherapy (PMRT) after implant-based reconstruction. This study aimed to evaluate the impact on breast complications with the new guideline compared to the conventional guidelines. In total, 308 patients who underwent PMRT after tissue expander or permanent implant insertion from 2016 to 2021 were included; 184 received PMRT by the new ESTRO-ACROP target delineation (ESTRO-T), and 124 by conventional target delineation (CONV-T). The endpoints were major breast complications (infection, necrosis, dehiscence, capsular contracture, animation deformity, and rupture) requiring re-operation or re-hospitalization and any grade ≥2 breast complications. With a median follow-up of 36.4 months, the cumulative incidence rates of major breast complications at 1, 2, and 3 years were 6.6%, 10.3%, and 12.6% in the ESTRO-T group, and 9.7%, 15.4%, and 16.3% in the CONV-T group; it did not show a significant difference between the groups (p = 0.56). In multivariable analyses, target delineation is not associated with the major complications (sHR = 0.87; p = 0.77). There was no significant difference in any breast complications (3-year incidence, 18.9% vs. 23.3%, respectively; p = 0.56). Symptomatic RT-induced pneumonitis was developed in six (3.2%) and three (2.4%) patients, respectively. One local recurrence occurred in the ESTRO-T group, which was within the ESTRO-target volume. The new ESTRO-ACROP target volume guideline did not demonstrate significant differences in major or any breast complications, although it showed a tendency of reduced complication risks. As the dosimetric benefits of normal organs and comparable oncologic outcomes have been reported, further analyses with long-term follow-up are necessary to evaluate whether it could be connected to better clinical outcomes.

Background Breast aesthetics evaluation often relies on subjective assessments, leading to the need for objective, automated tools. We developed the Seoul Breast Esthetic Scoring Tool (S-BEST), a photometric analysis software that utilizes a DenseNet-264 deep learning model to automatically evaluate breast landmarks and asymmetry indices. Methods S-BEST was trained on a dataset of frontal breast photographs annotated with 30 specific landmarks, divided into an 80-20 training-validation split. The software requires the distances of sternal notch to nipple or nipple-to-nipple as input and performs image preprocessing steps, including ratio correction and 8-bit normalization. Breast asymmetry indices and centimeter-based measurements are provided as the output. The accuracy of S-BEST was validated using a paired t -test and Bland-Altman plots, comparing its measurements to those obtained from physical examinations of 100 females diagnosed with breast cancer. Results S-BEST demonstrated high accuracy in automatic landmark localization, with most distances showing no statistically significant difference compared with physical measurements. However, the nipple to inframammary fold distance showed a significant bias, with a coefficient of determination ranging from 0.3787 to 0.4234 for the left and right sides, respectively. Conclusion S-BEST provides a fast, reliable, and automated approach for breast aesthetic evaluation based on 2D frontal photographs. While limited by its inability to capture volumetric attributes or multiple viewpoints, it serves as an accessible tool for both clinical and research applications.

The aim of this study was to investigate the anti-angiogenic effects of the hexane fraction of Adenophora triphylla var. japonica root extract (HAT) and its influence on the development of erlotinib resistance in human lung cancer cells. HAT significantly reduced the migration, invasion, and tube formation of human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs). The phosphorylation levels of vascular endothelial growth factor receptor 2 (VEGFR2) and its downstream molecules were decreased via HAT, indicating its anti-angiogenic potential in endothelial cells (ECs). A docking analysis demonstrated that ß-sitosterol and lupeol, representative components of HAT, exhibit a high affinity for binding to VEGFR2. In addition, conditioned media from HAT-pretreated H1299 human lung cancer cells attenuated cancer-cell-induced chemotaxis of HUVECs, which was attributed to the decreased expression of angiogenic and chemotactic factors in H1299 cells. Interestingly, co-culture of erlotinib-sensitive PC9 human lung cancer cells with HUVECs induced erlotinib resistance in PC9 cells. However, co-culture with HAT-pretreated HUVECs partially restored the sensitivity of PC9 cells to erlotinib. HAT inhibited the development of erlotinib resistance by attenuating hepatocyte growth factor (HGF) production by ECs. Taken together, our results demonstrate that HAT exerts its anticancer effects by regulating the crosstalk between ECs and lung cancer cells.

Background: The objective of this study is to establish a potential correlation between postoperative improvement in upper eyelid ptosis, measured by the marginal reflex distance 1 (MRD1), and the immediate postoperative degrees of lagophthalmos (IPDL). The established correlation is then used to assess whether IPDL can be used as a reliable indicator of successful treatment of eyelid ptosis. Methods: This retrospective study involved 19 patients, aged 1 to 11, with a total of 28 eyes affected by ptosis, who underwent surgery under general anesthesia at Seoul National University Bundang Hospital from January 2018 to December 2022. We monitored the MRD1 of the patients for over six months postoperatively and measured the IPDL. Results: After ptosis correction surgery, no statistically significant correlation was observed between the improvement in MRD1 and IPDL. Furthermore, the degree of postoperative eyelid ptosis improvement was found to vary and was not consistently sustained, attributable to a range of factors. Conclusions: Our study did not establish a statistically significant correlation between IPDL and ptosis improvement as measured by MRD1. Further research is needed to draw definitive conclusions about their correlation.

BACKGROUND: Chronic comorbid conditions are common in patients with sepsis and may affect the outcomes. This study aimed to evaluate the prevalence and outcomes of common comorbidities in patients with sepsis. METHODS: We conducted a nationwide retrospective cohort study. Using data from the National Health Insurance Service of Korea. Adult patients (age ≥ 18 years) who were hospitalized in tertiary or general hospitals with a diagnosis of sepsis between 2011 and 2016 were analyzed. After screening of all International Classification of Diseases 10th revision codes for comorbidities, we identified hypertension, diabetes mellitus (DM), liver cirrhosis (LC), chronic kidney disease (CKD), and malignancy as prevalent comorbidities. RESULTS: Overall, 373,539 patients diagnosed with sepsis were hospitalized in Korea between 2011 and 2016. Among them, 46.7% had hypertension, 23.6% had DM, 7.4% had LC, 13.7% had CKD, and 30.7% had malignancy. In-hospital mortality rates for patients with hypertension, DM, LC, CKD, and malignancy were 25.5%, 25.2%, 34.5%, 28.0%, and 33.3%, respectively, showing a decreasing trend over time (P < 0.001). After adjusting for baseline characteristics, male sex, older age, use of mechanical ventilation, and continuous renal replacement therapy, LC, CKD, and malignancy were significantly associated with in-hospital mortality. CONCLUSIONS: Hypertension is the most prevalent comorbidity in patients with sepsis, and it is associated with an increased survival rate. Additionally, liver cirrhosis, chronic kidney disease, and malignancy result in higher mortality rates than hypertension and DM, and are significant risk factors for in-hospital mortality in patients with sepsis.

BACKGROUND: Our research group previously established a deep-learning-based clinical decision support system (CDSS) for real-time endoscopy-based detection and classification of gastric neoplasms. However, preneoplastic conditions, such as atrophy and intestinal metaplasia (IM) were not taken into account, and there is no established model that classifies all stages of gastric carcinogenesis. OBJECTIVE: This study aims to build and validate a CDSS for real-time endoscopy for all stages of gastric carcinogenesis, including atrophy and IM. METHODS: A total of 11,868 endoscopic images were used for training and internal testing. The primary outcomes were lesion classification accuracy (6 classes: advanced gastric cancer, early gastric cancer, dysplasia, atrophy, IM, and normal) and atrophy and IM lesion segmentation rates for the segmentation model. The following tests were carried out to validate the performance of lesion classification accuracy: (1) external testing using 1282 images from another institution and (2) evaluation of the classification accuracy of atrophy and IM in real-world procedures in a prospective manner. To estimate the clinical utility, 2 experienced endoscopists were invited to perform a blind test with the same data set. A CDSS was constructed by combining the established 6-class lesion classification model and the preneoplastic lesion segmentation model with the previously established lesion detection model. RESULTS: The overall lesion classification accuracy (95% CI) was 90.3% (89%-91.6%) in the internal test. For the performance validation, the CDSS achieved 85.3% (83.4%-97.2%) overall accuracy. The per-class external test accuracies for atrophy and IM were 95.3% (92.6%-98%) and 89.3% (85.4%-93.2%), respectively. CDSS-assisted endoscopy showed an accuracy of 92.1% (88.8%-95.4%) for atrophy and 95.5% (92%-99%) for IM in the real-world application of 522 consecutive screening endoscopies. There was no significant difference in the overall accuracy between the invited endoscopists and established CDSS in the prospective real-clinic evaluation (P=.23). The CDSS demonstrated a segmentation rate of 93.4% (95% CI 92.4%-94.4%) for atrophy or IM lesion segmentation in the internal testing. CONCLUSIONS: The CDSS achieved high performance in terms of computer-aided diagnosis of all stages of gastric carcinogenesis and demonstrated real-world application potential.

Background: This study aimed to discuss several surgical approaches for advanced-stage breast cancer-related lymphedema and compared their treatment outcomes. Methods: The patients who underwent surgery with International Society of Lymphology stage III lymphedema were included in this study. The three surgical methods used here were (1) suction-assisted lipectomy with lymphovenous anastomosis, (2) autologous breast reconstruction with muscle-sparing transverse rectus abdominis muscle flap combined with inguinal lymph node transfer, and (3) vascularized lymph node transfer with free omental flap. Analysis of the postoperative outcomes in the patients was based on the difference in volume between patients pre- and postoperatively, LYMPH-Q questionnaire, and bioelectrical impedance analysis. Results: Eighty-seven patients with stage IIb or higher disease underwent surgery. 38 patients underwent suction-assisted lipectomy + lymphovenous anastomosis, 23 underwent autologous breast reconstruction with vascularized lymph node transfer + lymphovenous anastomosis, and 26 underwent right gastroepiploic omental vascularized lymph node transfer with lymphovenous anastomosis. The LYMPH-Q questionnaire, which evaluates patients' subjective satisfaction, showed that the autologous breast reconstruction group showed the greatest improvement, whereas in bioimpedance analysis, the omental flap group demonstrated the greatest postoperative improvement compared with preoperative values. However, suction-assisted lipectomy was considered the most effective surgical method for reducing limb volume in patients with high-stage lymphedema accompanied by fibrosis and volume increase. Conclusions: We observed slightly different clinical effects for each surgical method; however, all surgical methods demonstrated a reduction in the degree of edema and an increase in patient satisfaction.

BACKGROUND: Numerous fascial closure techniques have been used to reduce donor site morbidities after transverse rectus abdominis myocutaneous (TRAM) flap harvest. A leaflet-shaped acellular dermal matrix (ADM) with a thickness gradient was designed to cover the defect effectively and to withstand the pressure applied to the lower portion of the defect. The complication and functional recovery rates of the donor site of the custom ADM were compared with those of previous methods of fascial closure (primary closure and polypropylene mesh assisted closure). MATERIALS AND METHODS: A retrospective review of patients undergoing immediate or delayed breast reconstruction using muscle-sparing TRAM flaps was performed. Abdominal bulging, hernia, wound dehiscence, infection, seroma, and hematoma rates were compared. The Back Performance Scale measured four months postoperatively was compared to evaluate the donor site's recovery rate. RESULTS: A total of 173 patients were analyzed. The three groups did not differ in hernia, wound dehiscence, infection, and hematoma rates. However, the abdominal bulging rate was lower in the primary closure group, while the seroma rate was higher in the mesh group. Functional recovery was the fastest in the custom ADM group. CONCLUSION: A thickness-gradient, leaflet-shaped ADM can be effectively used as an onlay graft to cover the abdominal fascial defect, with similar complication rates, while providing a faster recovery of abdominal function.

To overcome the limitations of lymphedema treatment, human adipose-derived stem cells (hADSCs) were injected into decellularized lymph nodes to produce a recellularized lymph node-scaffold, and the effect of lymphangiogenesis was investigated in lymphedema animal models. Axillary lymph nodes were harvested from Sprague Dawley rats (7 weeks old, 220-250 g) for decellularization. The decellularized lymph nodes were performed and PKH26-labeled hADSCs (1 × 106/50 µL) were injected in the decellularized lymph node-scaffolds. Forty rats were equally divided into four groups: lymphedema as control group, hADSC group, decellularized lymph node-scaffold group, and recellularized lymph node-scaffold group. The lymphedema model was made by removing inguinal lymph nodes, and hADSCs or scaffolds were transplanted. Histopathological assessments were performed by hematoxylin and eosin and Masson's trichrome staining. Lymphangiogenesis was evaluated by Immunofluorescence staining and western blot. Decellularized lymph nodes showed virtually complete absence of cellular material and maintenance of lymph node architecture. The hADSCs were significantly observed in recellularized lymph node-scaffolds group. The recellularized lymph node-scaffold group was histologically similar to normal lymph nodes. The vascular endothelial growth factor A and lymphatic vessel endothelial hyaluronan receptor 1 (LYVE-1) in immunofluorescence staining were highly expressed in recellularized lymph node-scaffolds group. Also, the expression of LYVE-1 protein significantly increased in recellularized lymph node-scaffold group compared with others. Recellularized lymph node -scaffold had a much better therapeutic effect than stem cells or decellularized lymph node-scaffold alone, and induced stable lymphangiogenesis.

Previous studies have indicated that the adrenergic receptor signaling pathway plays a fundamental role in chronic stress-induced cancer metastasis. In this study, we investigated whether an ethanol extract of Perilla frutescens leaves (EPF) traditionally used to treat stress-related symptoms by moving Qi could regulate the adrenergic agonist-induced metastatic ability of cancer cells. Our results show that adrenergic agonists including norepinephrine (NE), epinephrine (E), and isoproterenol (ISO) increased migration and invasion of MDA-MB-231 human breast cancer cells and Hep3B human hepatocellular carcinoma cells. However, such increases were completely abrogated by EPF treatment. E/NE induced downregulation of E-cadherin and upregulation of N-cadherin, Snail, and Slug. Such effects were clearly reversed by pretreatment with EPF, suggesting that the antimetastatic activity of EPF could be related to epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) regulation. EPF suppressed E/NE-stimulated Src phosphorylation. Inhibition of Src kinase activity with dasatinib completely suppressed the E/NE-induced EMT process. Transfecting MDA-MB-231 cells with constitutively activated Src (SrcY527F) diminished the antimigration effect of EPF. Taken together, our results demonstrate that EPF can suppress the adrenergic agonist-promoted metastatic ability of cancer cells by inhibiting Src-mediated EMT. This study provides basic evidence supporting the probable use of EPF to prevent metastasis in cancer patients, especially those under chronic stress.

BACKGROUND : Deep learning models have previously been established to predict the histopathology and invasion depth of gastric lesions using endoscopic images. This study aimed to establish and validate a deep learning-based clinical decision support system (CDSS) for the automated detection and classification (diagnosis and invasion depth prediction) of gastric neoplasms in real-time endoscopy. METHODS : The same 5017 endoscopic images that were employed to establish previous models were used for the training data. The primary outcomes were: (i) the lesion detection rate for the detection model, and (ii) the lesion classification accuracy for the classification model. For performance validation of the lesion detection model, 2524 real-time procedures were tested in a randomized pilot study. Consecutive patients were allocated either to CDSS-assisted or conventional screening endoscopy. The lesion detection rate was compared between the groups. For performance validation of the lesion classification model, a prospective multicenter external test was conducted using 3976 novel images from five institutions. RESULTS : The lesion detection rate was 95.6 % (internal test). On performance validation, CDSS-assisted endoscopy showed a higher lesion detection rate than conventional screening endoscopy, although statistically not significant (2.0 % vs. 1.3 %; P = 0.21) (randomized study). The lesion classification rate was 89.7 % in the four-class classification (advanced gastric cancer, early gastric cancer, dysplasia, and non-neoplastic) and 89.2 % in the invasion depth prediction (mucosa confined or submucosa invaded; internal test). On performance validation, the CDSS reached 81.5 % accuracy in the four-class classification and 86.4 % accuracy in the binary classification (prospective multicenter external test). CONCLUSIONS : The CDSS demonstrated its potential for real-life clinical application and high performance in terms of lesion detection and classification of detected lesions in the stomach.

BACKGROUND: Corrected QT-interval (QTc) prolongation (QTP) is a rare but fatal adverse effect of antipsychotics. Clozapine is the only antipsychotic recommended for treatment of resistant schizophrenia; however, clozapine has been reported to cause QTP. We sought factors predictive of QTP in patients who had antipsychotic polypharmacy involving clozapine. We explored whether the clozapine blood concentration might predict QTP. METHODS: We included 133 patients with schizophrenia spectrum disorder who had antipsychotic polypharmacy involving clozapine. We used the χ2 and nonparametric tests to compare clozapine therapeutic drug monitoring (TDM) values and QTc-prolonged person (QTPP) status. Multivariate regression and mediator models were used to identify risk factors for QTPP status and QTP. RESULTS: In total, 111 patients were prescribed clozapine. The QTPP rates were 31.3% (20) for men and 23.2% (16) for women. Compared with the non-QTPP group, the QTPP group exhibited significantly higher daily dose of all antipsychotics including clozapine, a higher clozapine dose, and elevated clozapine and norclozapine TDM values. Furthermore, such patients were prescribed a greater number of antipsychotics. Multivariate logistic regression revealed that only the clozapine TDM value could be predictive factor for QTPP status (P = 0.018). A clozapine TDM value above the therapeutic range (>600 mg/dL) was associated with a high risk of QTPP status (adjusted odds ratio, 6.5; 95% confidence interval, 1.7-25.2; P = 0.006). The mediator model revealed that the clozapine TDM values completely mediated the association between the clozapine dose and the QTc interval. CONCLUSIONS: The clozapine blood concentration reliably predicts QTP in patients with clozapine use.

Intravenous ferric carboxymaltose (IV-FCM) can effectively correct perioperative anemia in patients undergoing major surgeries. However, its efficacy and side effects in patients undergoing free flap-based breast reconstruction are yet to be investigated. At our institution, from year 2020, patients with breast cancer undergoing abdominal free flap-based breast reconstruction were injected 500 mg of IV-FCM immediately post-operation. Propensity-matched 82 IV-FCM injected (study group) and 164 historical control group patients were retrospectively analyzed for transfusion rates, changes in hematological parameters, and flap or donor-site related complications. The major and minor complication rates related to the operation site were similar between the two groups. There was no significant difference in the transfusion rate between the two groups (control 29.9% vs. study 32.9%, p = 0.71). However, the total amount of transfusion required was significantly higher in the historical control group (control-53.2% 1 pack, 42.6% 2 packs, 4.3% 3 packs of RBC vs. Study-66.7% 1 pack, 33.3% 2 packs, p = 0.02) than in the study group. Additionally, the historical control group showed a significantly higher drop in red blood cell count, hemoglobin, and hematocrit levels from postoperative days 1-2 and 2-3 compared to the study group. Immediate postoperative use of IV-FCM in free flap-based breast reconstruction was well tolerated by patients and reduced overall transfusion volume.

Chronic stress has been reported to stimulate the release of catecholamines, including norepinephrine (NE) and epinephrine (E), which promote cancer progression by activating the adrenergic receptor (AR). Although previous studies showed that ß2-AR mediated chronic stress-induced tumor growth and metastasis, the underlying mechanism has not been fully explored. In this study, we aimed to investigate the molecular mechanism by which ß2-AR exerts a pro-metastatic function in hepatocarcinoma (HCC) cells and breast cancer (BC) cells. Our results showed that Hep3B human HCC cells and MDA-MB-231 human BC cells exhibited the highest ADRB2 expression among diverse HCC and BC cell lines. NE, E, and isoprenaline (ISO), adrenergic agonists commonly increased the migration and invasion of Hep3B cells and MDA-MB-231 cells. The phosphorylation level of Src was significantly increased by E/NE. Dasatinib, a Src kinase inhibitor, blocked E/NE-induced migration and invasion, indicating that AR agonists enhanced the mobility of cancer cells by activating Src. ADRB2 knockdown attenuated E/NE-induced Src phosphorylation, as well as the metastatic ability of cancer cells, suggesting the essential role of ß2-AR. Taken together, our results demonstrate that chronic stress-released catecholamines promoted the migration and invasion of HCC cells and BC cells via ß2-AR-mediated Src activation.

The aim of this study is to evaluate cosmetic outcomes of the reconstructed breast in breast cancer patients, using anomaly score (AS) detected by generative adversarial network (GAN) deep learning algorithm. A total of 251 normal breast images from patients who underwent breast-conserving surgery were used for training anomaly GAN network. GAN-based anomaly detection was used to calculate abnormalities as an AS, followed by standardization by using z-score. Then, we reviewed 61 breast cancer patients who underwent mastectomy followed by reconstruction with autologous tissue or tissue expander. All patients were treated with adjuvant radiation therapy (RT) after reconstruction and computed tomography (CT) was performed at three-time points with a regular follow-up; before RT (Pre-RT), one year after RT (Post-1Y), and two years after RT (Post-2Y). Compared to Pre-RT, Post-1Y and Post-2Y demonstrated higher AS, indicating more abnormal cosmetic outcomes (Pre-RT vs. Post-1Y, P = 0.015 and Pre-RT vs. Post-2Y, P = 0.011). Pre-RT AS was higher in patients having major breast complications (P = 0.016). Patients with autologous reconstruction showed lower AS than those with tissue expander both at Pre-RT (2.00 vs. 4.19, P = 0.008) and Post-2Y (2.89 vs. 5.00, P = 0.010). Linear mixed effect model revealed that days after baseline were associated with increased AS (P = 0.007). Also, tissue expander was associated with steeper rise of AS, compared to autologous tissue (P = 0.015). Fractionation regimen was not associated with the change of AS (P = 0.389). AS detected by deep learning might be feasible in predicting cosmetic outcomes of RT-treated patients with breast reconstruction. AS should be validated in prospective studies.
