Long term follow up of three patients with aneurysmal bone cysts has allowed us to draw attention to features which facilitate diagnosis and determine adequate treatment. The lesion occurs usually under the age of twenty with a slight female predominance. Treatment consists in complete local excision. Failing this, curettage should be carried out, and this gives good results. The effectiveness of radiotherapy cannot be assessed from our series, but in our opinion it may not be necessary in every case and should be applied judiciously, as postradiation sarcomas have been reported. Special attention must be paid to the tendency for spontaneous regression and cure after incomplete removal, particularly in recurrent cases, with a view to avoiding more aggressive treatment than is necessary. Multilocation (vertebra and distant bone), endothelial proliferation, and obliteration of the lumen of the small blood vessels support the view that this is a vascular lesion.

The performance of funicular lymphography and spermatic vein phlebography during orchiectomy in patients with testicular tumors demonstrates the close proximity of the spermatic vein to the lymph nodes draining the testicles. In the case of metastatic lymph node involvement the spermatic vein phlebography may add supplementary diagnostic information. The examination was proved successful in eight patients with malignant testicular tumors.

Scintigraphic studies made in 75 patients, respectively on 130 testicles with the aid of the organ radio-isotopic lymphography enabled to determine more exactly the location and the variety of the testicular lymph centers. It should be pointed out that in 58.5% of the patients the lymph centers are situated on the left of the middle line and only in 6.1% on the right. In some cases iliac lymph nodes were demonstrable. Attempts were made to use this method in investigation of the patients with malignant tumours of the testicles.

The visceral radioisotopic lymphography, as a new technic, reveals new possibilities to investigate the lymph system of the testicle. The testicular lymph center is regularly visualized at the level of the para-aortic lymph nodes. But in 16.9% of the patients, respectively in 10.8% of the examined testes, iliac lymph nodes are demonstrated as a primary lymph center, draining the testicle. A preoperative scintigraphic search can be made for every patient with testicular neoplasma in the intention to obtain a more correct determination of the stage, the prognosis and the proper treatment planning.
