Background: Data-driven digital learning could improve the diagnostic performance of novice students for thyroid nodules. Objective: To evaluate the efficacy of digital self-learning and artificial intelligence-based computer-assisted diagnosis (AI-CAD) for inexperienced readers to diagnose thyroid nodules. Methods: Between February and August 2023, a total of 26 readers (less than 1 year of experience in thyroid US from various departments) from 6 hospitals participated in this study. Readers completed an online learning session comprising 3,000 thyroid nodules annotated as benign or malignant independently. They were asked to assess a test set consisting of 120 thyroid nodules with known surgical pathology before and after a learning session. Then, they referred to AI-CAD and made their final decisions on the thyroid nodules. Diagnostic performances before and after self-training and with AI-CAD assistance were evaluated and compared between radiology residents and readers from different specialties. Results: AUC (area under the receiver operating characteristic curve) improved after the self-learning session, and it improved further after radiologists referred to AI-CAD (0.679 vs 0.713 vs 0.758, p<0.05). Although the 18 radiology residents showed improved AUC (0.7 to 0.743, p=0.016) and accuracy (69.9% to 74.2%, p=0.013) after self-learning, the readers from other departments did not. With AI-CAD assistance, sensitivity (radiology 70.3% to 74.9%, others 67.9% to 82.3%, all p<0.05) and accuracy (radiology 74.2% to 77.1%, others 64.4% to 72.8%, all p <0.05) improved in all readers. Conclusion: While AI-CAD assistance helps improve the diagnostic performance of all inexperienced readers for thyroid nodules, self-learning was only effective for radiology residents with more background knowledge of ultrasonography. Clinical Impact: Online self-learning, along with AI-CAD assistance, can effectively enhance the diagnostic performance of radiology residents in thyroid cancer.

BACKGROUND: Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS) is a debilitating illness medically unexplained, affecting approximately 1% of the global population. Due to the subjective complaint, assessing the exact severity of fatigue is a clinical challenge, thus, this study aimed to produce comprehensive features of fatigue severity in ME/CFS patients. METHODS: We systematically extracted the data for fatigue levels of participants in randomized controlled trials (RCTs) targeting ME/CFS from PubMed, Cochrane Library, Web of Science, and CINAHL throughout January 31, 2024. We normalized each different measurement to a maximum 100-point scale and performed a meta-analysis to assess fatigue severity by subgroups of age, fatigue domain, intervention, case definition, and assessment tool, respectively. RESULTS: Among the total of 497 relevant studies, 60 RCTs finally met our eligibility criteria, which included a total of 7088 ME/CFS patients (males 1815, females 4532, and no information 741). The fatigue severity of the whole 7,088 patients was 77.9 (95% CI 74.7-81.0), showing 77.7 (95% CI 74.3-81.0) from 54 RCTs in 6,706 adults and 79.6 (95% CI 69.8-89.3) from 6 RCTs in 382 adolescents. Regarding the domain of fatigue, 'cognitive' (74.2, 95% CI 65.4-83.0) and 'physical' fatigue (74.3, 95% CI 68.3-80.3) were a little higher than 'mental' fatigue (70.1, 95% CI 64.4-75.8). The ME/CFS participants for non-pharmacological intervention (79.1, 95% CI 75.2-83.0) showed a higher fatigue level than those for pharmacological intervention (75.5, 95% CI 70.0-81.0). The fatigue levels of ME/CFS patients varied according to diagnostic criteria and assessment tools adapted in RCTs, likely from 54.2 by ICC (International Consensus Criteria) to 83.6 by Canadian criteria and 54.2 by MFS (Mental Fatigue Scale) to 88.6 by CIS (Checklist Individual Strength), respectively. CONCLUSIONS: This systematic review firstly produced comprehensive features of fatigue severity in patients with ME/CFS. Our data will provide insights for clinicians in diagnosis, therapeutic assessment, and patient management, as well as for researchers in fatigue-related investigations.

The high risk of neurological disorders in postmenopausal women is an emerging medical issue. Based on the hypothesis of altered estrogen receptors (ERα and ß) after the decline of estrogen production, we investigated the changes in ERs expressions across brain regions and depressive/amnesic behaviors. C57BL/6J female mice were ovariectomized (OVX) to establish a menopausal condition. Along with behavior tests (anxiety, depression, and memory), the expression of ERs, microglial activity, and neuronal activity was measured in six brain regions (hippocampus, prefrontal cortex, striatum, raphe nucleus, amygdala, and hypothalamus) from 4 to 12 weeks after OVX. Mice exhibited anxiety- and depressive-like behaviors, as well as memory impairment. These behavioral alterations have been linked to a suppression in the expression of ERß. The decreased ERß expression coincided with microglial-derived neuroinflammation, as indicated by notable activations of Ionized calcium-binding adapter molecule 1 and Interleukin-1beta. Additionally, the activity of brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF), particularly in the hippocampus, decreased in a time-dependent manner from 4 to 12 weeks post-OVX. Our study provides evidence shedding light on the susceptibility to memory impairment and depression in women after menopause. This susceptibility is associated with the suppression of ERß and alteration of ERα in six brain regions.

RESUMO

The subtype of eccrine carcinoma known as squamoid eccrine ductal carcinoma (SEDC) is rare; only 38 cases, including only 6 cases in the ear, have been documented in the literature. This may be the first case to focus on the fact that SEDC, located within the dermal and subcutaneous layers, spares the epidermis histopathologically, which can cause clinicians to confuse SEDC with acute perichondritis.

Myocardial infarction (MI) is a major cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide, especially in aging and metabolically unhealthy populations. A major target of regenerative tissue engineering is the restoration of viable cardiomyocytes to preserve cardiac function and circumvent the progression to heart failure post-MI. Amelioration of ischemia is a crucial component of such restorative strategies. Angiogenic ß-sheet peptides can self-assemble into thixotropic nanofibrous hydrogels. These syringe aspiratable cytocompatible gels were loaded with stem cells and showed excellent cytocompatibility and minimal impact on the storage and loss moduli of hydrogels. Gels with and without cells were delivered into the myocardium of a mouse MI model (LAD ligation). Cardiac function and tissue remodeling were evaluated up to 4 weeks in vivo. Injectable peptide hydrogels synergized with loaded murine embryonic stem cells to demonstrate enhanced survival after intracardiac delivery during the acute phase post-MI, especially at 7 days. This approach shows promise for post-MI treatment and potentially functional cardiac tissue regeneration and warrants large-scale animal testing prior to clinical translation.

PURPOSE: Concomitant with the significant advances in computing technology, the utilization of augmented reality-based navigation in clinical applications is being actively researched. In this light, we developed novel object tracking and depth realization technologies to apply augmented reality-based neuronavigation to brain surgery. METHODS: We developed real-time inside-out tracking based on visual inertial odometry and a visual inertial simultaneous localization and mapping algorithm. The cube quick response marker and depth data obtained from light detection and ranging sensors are used for continuous tracking. For depth realization, order-independent transparency, clipping, and annotation and measurement functions were developed. In this study, the augmented reality model of a brain tumor patient was applied to its life-size three-dimensional (3D) printed model. RESULTS: Using real-time inside-out tracking, we confirmed that the augmented reality model remained consistent with the 3D printed patient model without flutter, regardless of the movement of the visualization device. The coordination accuracy during real-time inside-out tracking was also validated. The average movement error of the X and Y axes was 0.34 ± 0.21 and 0.04 ± 0.08 mm, respectively. Further, the application of order-independent transparency with multilayer alpha blending and filtered alpha compositing improved the perception of overlapping internal brain structures. Clipping, and annotation and measurement functions were also developed to aid depth perception and worked perfectly during real-time coordination. We named this system METAMEDIP navigation. CONCLUSIONS: The results validate the efficacy of the real-time inside-out tracking and depth realization technology. With these novel technologies developed for continuous tracking and depth perception in augmented reality environments, we are able to overcome the critical obstacles in the development of clinically applicable augmented reality neuronavigation.

Fungal sinusitis is relatively rare, but it has become more common in recent years. When fungal sinusitis invades the orbit, it can cause proptosis, chemosis, ophthalmoplegia, retroorbital pain, and vision impairment. We present a case of an extensive orbital floor defect due to invasive fungal sinusitis. A 62-year-old man with hypertension and a history of lung adenocarcinoma, presented with right-side facial pain and swelling. On admission, the serum glucose level was 347 mg/dL, and hemoglobin A1c was 11.4%. A computed tomography scan and a Waters' view X-ray showed right maxillary sinusitis with an orbital floor defect. On hospital day 3, functional endoscopic sinus surgery was performed by the otorhinolaryngology team, and an aspergilloma in necrotic inflammatory exudate obtained during exploration. On hospital day 7, orbital floor reconstruction with a Medpor Titan surgical implant was done. In principle, the management of invasive sino- orbital fungal infection often begins with surgical debridement and local irrigation with an antifungal agent. Exceptionally, in this case, debridement and immediate orbital floor reconstruction were performed to prevent enophthalmos caused by the extensive orbital floor defect. The patient underwent orbital floor reconstruction and received intravenous and oral voriconazole. Despite orbital invasion, there were no ophthalmic symptoms or sequelae.

BACKGROUND: Rosacea is a chronic skin disorder characterised by abnormal neurovasculature and inflammation in the central region of the face. The efficacy of pulsed-dye laser and intense pulsed light treatments for rosacea have been demonstrated in several clinical trials. However, there is currently no research on the efficacy of long-pulsed alexandrite laser (LPAL) therapy alone for rosacea-related facial redness and its effect on skin microbiota. AIM: To evaluate the efficacy of LPAL therapy on facial redness in rosacea and assess changes in skin microbiota composition. METHODS: Subjects with rosacea (n = 21, mean age: 39.2 ± 11.3 years) were recruited from two medical institutions and received monthly LPAL treatments (Clarity II™, Lutronic Corp.) for 3 months. At each visit, clinical photographs were taken, and erythema was measured using a spectrometer. At the initial and final visits, the Dermatology Life Quality Index (DLQI) and Skin Sensitivity Questionnaire (SSQ) were evaluated. Skin swabs were obtained at the initial and final visit, and facial microbiome composition was analysed using 16S rRNA amplicon sequencing. RESULTS: After three LPAL treatment sessions, the average facial erythema index, measured using Mexameter® decreased significantly from 360.0 ± 96.7 at baseline to 312.0 ± 94.5 at the final visit (p < .05). The DLQI and SSQ showed significant improvement of symptoms. Skin microbiome diversity and relative abundance were altered significantly, particularly in the genera Clostridium, Lawsonella, Bacteroides, and Lactobacillus. CONCLUSIONS: LPAL therapy alone showed favourable efficacy for the treatment of facial redness in rosacea, with some impacts on the skin microbiota composition.

BACKGROUND: Myalgic encephalitis/chronic fatigue syndrome (ME/CFS) is a long-term disabling illness without a medically explained cause. Recently during COVID-19 pandemic, many studies have confirmed the symptoms similar to ME/CFS in the recovered individuals. To investigate the virus-related etiopathogenesis of ME/CFS, we conducted a systematic assessment of viral infection frequency in ME/CFS patients. METHODS: We conducted a comprehensive search of PubMed and the Cochrane Library from their inception through December 31, 2022, using selection criteria of viral infection prevalence in ME/CFS patients and controls. Subsequently, we performed a meta-analysis to assess the extent of viral infections' contribution to ME/CFS by comparing the odds ratio between ME/CFS patients and controls (healthy and/or diseased). RESULTS: Finally, 64 studies met our eligibility criteria regarding 18 species of viruses, including a total of 4971 ME/CFS patients and 9221 control subjects. The participants included healthy subjects and individuals with one of 10 diseases, such as multiple sclerosis or fibromyalgia. Two DNA viruses (human herpes virus (HHV)-7 and parvovirus B19, including their co-infection) and 3 RNA viruses (borna disease virus (BDV), enterovirus and coxsackie B virus) showed odds ratios greater than 2.0 compared with healthy and/or diseased subjects. Specifically, BDV exceeded the cutoff with an odds ratio of ≥ 3.47 (indicating a "moderate association" by Cohen's d test) compared to both healthy and diseased controls. CONCLUSION: This study comprehensively evaluated the risk of viral infections associated with ME/CFS, and identified BDV. These results provide valuable reference data for future studies investigating the role of viruses in the causation of ME/CFS.

Purpose: To study deep optic nerve head (ONH) morphology in tilted disc syndrome (TDS) and identify factors associated with retinal nerve fiber layer (RNFL) defect. Methods: In patients with TDS, we evaluated the optic disc shape using the Bruch's membrane opening (BMO)-anterior scleral canal opening (ASCO) offset and measured the border tissue (BT) length, depth, and angle in the direction of the tilt, using radial ONH optical coherence tomography (OCT). We compared the parameters between the TDS groups with and without RNFL defects. Results: Twenty-one eyes had no glaucomatous RNFL defect, and 38 eyes had a glaucomatous RNFL defect. The group with RNFL defects had a higher baseline IOP, larger tilt axis of BMO-ASCO optic disc margin (76.4° ± 14.5° vs. 87.9° ± 15.4°, P = 0.012), larger BMO-lamina cribrosa insertion (LCI) angle (25.6° ± 9.3° vs. 43.6° ± 15.2°, P < 0.001), and more lamina cribrosa (LC) defects (4.3% vs. 30.6%, P = 0.028) than without RNFL defects. The tilt axis and BMO-LCI angle were significant factors after adjusting for baseline IOP and LC defect. The BMO-LCI angle had excellent diagnostic power for glaucomatous RNFL defect in TDS, similar to the visual field mean deviation. Conclusions: OCT-based large deep ONH BT angle and tilt axis were factors associated with the presence of RNFL defects in TDS. The results suggest a mechanism of RNFL defect associated with structural ONH deformation. Further investigations are warranted to understand the role of ONH structures in a general population with and without optic disc tilt.

We compared the effectiveness and safety of the long-pulsed neodymium-doped yttrium-aluminum-garnet (Nd:YAG) laser alone and combined with a 755-nm alexandrite laser for treating palmoplantar warts. We divided patients into two groups to receive up to four monthly treatments with Nd:YAG alone (single-wavelength) or combined with the alexandrite laser (dual-wavelength). We assessed treatment responses (according to clearance rate), vascular/hyperkeratosis grades, and patient satisfaction and pain ratings. The differences in treatment response (p = .348), patient satisfaction (p = .560), and pain ratings (p = .728) between the groups were not significant. The single- and dual-wavelength treatment options were equally effective in treating recalcitrant palmoplantar warts.

The pterygopalatine fossa is a clinically inaccessible space deep in the face, and reports of pterygopalatine fossa abscesses are rare. The authors present the case of a 63-year-old woman presenting with a severe headache owing to an abscess involving the pterygopalatine fossa. On a computed tomography scan, inflammation of the right pterygopalatine fossa associated with right maxillary sinusitis and periapical inflammation and a cystic lesion around the tooth were observed. After administering appropriate antibiotics, the headache improved considerably, and endoscopic nasal surgery resulted in adequate abscess drainage. To the authors' knowledge, this case study is one of the few reporting the successful treatment of an abscess in the pterygopalatine fossa through an endoscopic transnasal approach.

Gamma Knife surgery (GKS) for brain metastasis (BM) has been generally advocated for patients with a Karnofsky performance status (KPS) scale of ≥ 70. However, some patients with a poor KPS scale of < 70 are recoverable after GKS and show durable survival. A purpose of this study is to devise a 3-month survival prediction model to screen patients with BM with a KPS of ≤ 70 in whom GKS is needed. A retrospective analysis of 67 patients with a KPS scale of 60-70 undergoing GKS for BM of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) from 2016 to 2020 in our institute was performed. Univariate and multivariate logistic regression analyses were performed to investigate factors related to survival for more than 3 months after GKS. The probability (P) prediction model was designed by giving a weight corresponding to the odds ratio of the variables. The overall survival was 9.9 ± 12.7 months (range 0.2-53.2), with a 3-month survival rate of 59.7% (n = 40). In multivariate logistic regression analysis, extracranial disease (ECD) control (p = .033), focal neurological deficit (FND) (p = .014), and cumulative tumor volume (∑ TV) (p = .005) were associated with 3-month survival. The prediction model of 3-month survival (Harrell's C index = 0.767) was devised based on associated factors. In conclusion, GKS for BMs is recommended in selected patients, even if the KPS scale is ≤ 70.

Cancer-related fatigue (CRF) affects therapeutic compliance and clinical outcomes including recurrence and mortality. This study aimed to comprehensively and comparatively assess the severity-based prevalence of CRF. From two public databases (PubMed and Cochrane Library), we extracted data containing information on both prevalence and severity of fatigue in cancer patients through December 2021. We conducted a meta-analysis to produce point estimates using random effects models. Subgroup analyses were used to assess the prevalence and severity by the organ/system tumor development, treatment phase, therapeutic type, sex and assessment method. A total of 151 data (57 studies, 34,310 participants, 11,805 males and 22,505 females) were selected, which indicated 43.0% (95% CI 39.2-47.2) of fatigue prevalence. The total CRF prevalence including 'mild' level of fatigue was 70.7% (95% CI 60.6-83.3 from 37 data). The prevalence of 'severe' fatigue significantly varied by organ/system types of cancer origin (highest in brain tumors 39.7% vs. lowest in gynecologic tumors 3.9%) and treatment phase likely 15.9% (95% CI 8.1-31.3) before treatment, 33.8% (95% CI 27.7-41.2) ongoing treatment, and 24.1% (95% CI 18.6-31.2) after treatment. Chemotherapy (33.1%) induced approximately 1.5-fold higher prevalence for 'severe' CRF than surgery (22.0%) and radiotherapy (24.2%). The self-reported data for 'severe' CRF was 20-fold higher than those assessed by physicians (23.6% vs. 1.6%). Female patients exhibited a 1.4-fold higher prevalence of 'severe' fatigue compared to males. The present data showed quantitative feature of the prevalence and severity of CRF based on the cancer- or treatment-related factors, sex, and perspective of patient versus physician. In the context of the medical impact of CRF, our results provide a comparative reference to oncologists or health care providers making patient-specific decision.

RESUMO

The recent progress in nanoparticle applications, such as tumor-targeting, has enabled specific delivery of chemotherapeutics to malignant tissues with enhanced local efficacy while limiting side effects. However, existing delivery systems leave much room for improvement in terms of achieving enhanced colloidal stability in fluid medium, efficient targeting of intended sites, and effective release of therapeutic drugs into diseased cells. Here, an efficient stimuli-responsive nanocarrier for mammalian cells, termed RGD-NAMs, was developed, which enabled temperature- and pH-sensitive release of drug loads. The RGD-NAMs comprise two parts: a stimuli-responsive copolymer shell (NIBIm-AA-RGD) and drug-container core (MSNs). The RGD-NAMs have a stable drug-loading capacity with a marked difference in the release rate depending on the temperature and pH conditions. The RGD-NAMs also exhibit high colloidal stability in SBF (Stimulated body fluid) solutions and minimal toxicity in skeletal myoblasts (C2C12) and bovine arterial endothelial cells (BAEC). The doxorubicin-loaded RGD-NAMs induced a cytotoxic effect in a dose-dependent manner, which was furthered by an increase in temperature from 37 to 40 °C. Moreover, significant control of the release rate and the amount were achieved through pH change. This novel, smart drug-delivery system with high responsiveness to temperature and pH changes has wide application prospects in biomedical fields, including the theragnosis of tumors and vascular diseases.

PURPOSE: Worldwide, the incidence of chronic fungal rhinosinusitis (CFRS) has increased. Although ageing leads to weakening of the immune system, which increases susceptibility to CFRS, the CFRS characteristics in geriatric patients are unclear. Therefore, we comparatively analysed the clinical characteristics of CFRS in geriatric and non-geriatric patients. METHODS: This retrospective analysis compared the demographics, rhinologic symptoms, multiple allergen simultaneous tests, olfactory function tests, paranasal sinus computed tomography findings, and outcomes of 131 patients with CFRS who underwent functional endoscopic sinus surgery and 131 enrolled patients were divided in geriatric (> 65 years) and non-geriatric (≤ 65 years) groups. RESULTS: Among the geriatric and non-geriatric participants (n = 65, 49.6% and n = 66, 50.4%, respectively), hypertension and diabetes mellitus were more common in the geriatric group. Demographics, including symptoms, showed no significant intergroup differences. Normosmia and hyposmia were significantly less prevalent, whereas phantosmia and parosmia were more prevalent in the geriatric group than in the non-geriatric group (p = 0.03 and p = 0.01, respectively). Sphenoidal sinus involvement was significantly higher in geriatric patients than in non-geriatric patients (p = 0.02). CONCLUSION: Based on greater sphenoidal sinus involvement, a deeper anatomical area is more vulnerable to fungal infection in the geriatric group than in the non-geriatric group. Increasing clinicians' awareness of CFRS in geriatric patients with olfactory dysfunction, including phantosmia and parosmia, is important for early intervention.

PURPOSE: Accumulating evidence suggests that Staphylococcus aureus plays a significant role as a disease modifier in upper and lower airway diseases. We aimed to assess the association between staphylococcal enterotoxins (SEs) with allergic diseases and the degree of allergen sensitisation in children, which remains unclear. METHODS: We retrospectively reviewed the medical records of 455 patients aged 3-18 years between March 2018 and March 2022. Clinical history and demographic data were obtained. The baseline study included paranasal sinus X-ray scan, multiple allergen simultaneous test, and ImmunoCAP® for measuring serum total and specific immunoglobulin E (IgE) levels to allergens and staphylococcal enterotoxin A and B (SEA and SEB). RESULTS: The mean age was 9.77 ± 4.3 years. 133 patients (29.2%) were sensitised to one inhalant allergen, and 188 patients (41.3%) showed polysensitisation. Patients sensitised to SEs showed higher total and specific IgE levels and total eosinophil counts compared to non-SE-sensitised patients. Sensitisation to SEs is closely associated with polysensitisation to inhalant allergens and allergic multimorbidity. When the SE-IgE value was 0.35 or higher, the odds ratio for allergen polysensitisation was significantly higher than when the SE-IgE value was lower than 0.35. CONCLUSIONS: Association between polysensitisation and sensitisation to SEs in children shows the higher the specific IgE levels for SEs, the higher the likelihood of polysensitisation. Considering the relationship between polysensitisation, high IgE levels, and the severity of allergic morbidity, sensitisation to SEs is thought to be related to allergy severity.

Myeloid-derived suppressor cells (MDSCs) are bone marrow (BM)-derived immunosuppressive cells in the tumor microenvironment, but the mechanism of MDSC mobilization from the BM remains unclear. We investigated how BM stromal cell activation by PTH1R contributes to MDSC mobilization. PTH1R activation by parathyroid hormone (PTH) or PTH-related peptide (PTHrP), a tumor-derived counterpart, mobilized monocytic (M-) MDSCs from murine BM without increasing immunosuppressive activity. In vitro cell-binding assays demonstrated that α4ß1 integrin and vascular cell adhesion molecule (VCAM)-1, expressed on M-MDSCs and osteoblasts, respectively, are key to M-MDSC binding to osteoblasts. Upon PTH1R activation, osteoblasts express VEGF-A and IL6, leading to Src family kinase phosphorylation in M-MDSCs. Src inhibitors suppressed PTHrP-induced MDSC mobilization, and Src activation in M-MDSCs upregulated two proteases, ADAM-17 and MMP7, leading to VCAM1 shedding and subsequent disruption of M-MDSC tethering to osteoblasts. Collectively, our data provide the molecular mechanism of M-MDSC mobilization in the bones of tumor hosts.

BACKGROUND: Eyebrows define one's facial appearance; brow ptosis, which can occur with aging, can convey a negative expression. Various methods have been used to correct eyebrow position and shape. We endeavored to repair brow ptosis and glabellar wrinkles and present the outcome. METHODS: This retrospective study reviewed 40 patients who underwent extended suprabrow lift accompanied by relief of glabellar wrinkles between January 2018 and August 2020. The procedure was considered when patients exhibited brow ptosis, glabellar wrinkles, and a wide forehead. Fat graft was implemented after glabellar muscle division. The results were assessed based on measurements performed preoperatively and at 6 and 18 months postoperatively. RESULTS: Overall, patients were satisfied with the outcomes. To assess glabellar wrinkles, the Modified Fitzpatrick Wrinkle Assessment score revealed adequate correction during neutral and furrowed gazes (P < 0.05). The forehead and brow heights were also analyzed after repair, exhibiting decreased forehead height and elevated brow position (P < 0.05). At 6 and 18 months after surgery, adequate maintenance of the repair was evident (P < 0.05). A visible scar was observed in two patients, which was managed using a fractional ablative laser procedure. CONCLUSION: Extended suprabrow lift, when based on preoperative measurements, led to the correction of brow ptosis, glabellar wrinkles, and a wide forehead. For periorbital rejuvenation, it is imperative to decide locations where the skin and soft tissues should be preserved or removed. The use of fat grafts for wrinkle repair effectively maintains the repair postoperatively. LEVEL OF EVIDENCE IV: This journal requires that authors assign a level of evidence to each article.
