RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Malignant liver tumors seriously endanger human health. Among different therapeutic approaches, high-frequency irreversible electroporation (H-FIRE) is a recently emerging tumor ablation technique. The objective of this study was to evaluate the feasibility and safety of ultrasound-guided percutaneous H-FIRE using four electrode needles in porcine livers. METHODS: Twelve experimental pigs underwent percutaneous H-FIRE ablation using a compound steep-pulse therapeutic device. Liver tissues adjacent to the gallbladder, blood vessels, and bile ducts were selected as the ablation targets. Pigs were randomly divided into three groups: (1) immediately after ablation (N = 4), (2) 2 days after ablation (N = 4), and (3) 7 days after ablation (N = 4). Blood routine, liver and kidney function, and myocardial enzyme levels were measured before and after ablation. Ultrasound, contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS), contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and hematoxylin-eosin staining were performed to evaluate the ablation performance. RESULTS: Ultrasound-guided percutaneous H-FIRE ablations using four electrode needles were successfully performed in all 12 experimental pigs. The general conditions of the pigs, including postoperative activities and feeding behaviors, were normal, with no significant changes compared with the preoperative conditions. The imaging features of ultrasound, CEUS, and MRI demonstrated no significant changes in the gallbladder walls, bile ducts, or blood vessels close to the ablation areas. Laboratory tests showed that liver function indices and myocardial enzymes increased temporarily after H-FIRE ablation, but decreased to normal levels at 7 days after ablation. Histopathological examinations of porcine liver specimens showed that this technique could effectively ablate the target areas without damaging the surrounding or internal vascular systems and gallbladder. CONCLUSIONS: This study demonstrated the feasibility and safety of ultrasound-guided percutaneous H-FIRE ablation in porcine livers in vivo, and proposed a four-needle method to optimize its clinical application.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND Intrapancreatic accessory spleen, or splenunculus, is a congenital condition that occurs in up to 2% of the population, with the tail of the pancreas being the second most common site. Imaging alone may not confirm the diagnosis as this can mimic a hypervascular tumor on contrast-enhanced computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). This report presents a challenging case of intrapancreatic accessory spleen in the tail of the pancreas in a 64-year-old man. CASE REPORT A 64-year-old man was admitted for a space-occupying lesion in the tail of the pancreas. CT, MRI, and positron emission tomography-CT could not confirm the diagnosis. Endoscopic ultrasound-guided fine-needle aspiration biopsy was not performed given the potential for greater risk. The mass in the patient's pancreatic tail was considered benign or low-grade malignant. The patient then underwent a robotic pancreatectomy to remove the tumor in the tail of the pancreas. We performed intraoperative ultrasound scanning and detected a hypoechoic nodule in the body of the pancreas. This nodule had a clear boundary, and color Doppler flow imaging showed that there was no definite blood flow signal in it. The pathology diagnosis after surgery was intrapancreatic accessory spleen. The patient recovered without other complications and was discharged 5 days later. CONCLUSIONS This report highlights the importance of considering the diagnosis of intrapancreatic accessory spleen in hypervascular lesions seen on imaging alone and of confirming the diagnosis with definitive cytopathology or histopathology.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Gastric cancer has a high incidence and mortality rate. Angiogenesis is necessary for tumor infiltration and metastasis and affects patient prognosis. YKL-39 has monocyte chemotactic activity and pro-angiogenic activity in some tumors. In this study, we investigated the relationship between YKL-39 and tumor-associated macrophages and microangiogenesis in gastric cancer to determine its potential as a prognostic biomarker. MATERIALS AND METHODS: A total of 119 patients with gastric cancer who had undergone gastrectomy at the 940th Hospital of the Joint Security Force between 2014 and 2018 were included in this study. We assayed the protein expression of YKL-39, CD68, and CD34 by immunohistochemistry in tissues of 119 patients with gastric cancer, as well as the intracellular expression of YKL-39 and CD68 by immunofluorescence. Data were analyzed with SPSS Statistics 25.0 to explore the impact of expression of YKL-39, CD68, and CD34 in gastric cancer patients and the relationship among them. RESULTS: Our results show that YKL-39 was expressed in both the nucleus and cytoplasm of gastric cancer cells and tumor mesenchyme. YKL-39 protein expression was associated with the depth of tumor infiltration, lymph node metastasis, and TNM stage; CD68 protein expression was associated with lymph node metastasis and TNM stage; CD34 protein expression was not associated with clinicopathological characteristics. Expression of YKL-39 was positively correlated with CD68 and CD34 (p < 0.001), and high expression of YKL-39 was associated with poor prognosis (p < 0.05). CONCLUSION: In gastric cancer, YKL-39 expression is positively correlated with the degree of tumor-associated macrophage infiltration and angiogenesis, and is a potential prognostic marker for gastric cancer.

RESUMO

Wild edible mushrooms are a huge source to discover bioactive natural products. In this work, one new polyprenylphenol derivative, termed 2-geranylgeranyl-1,4-benzenediol 1-O-acetate (1), together with eight known compounds (2-9) were isolated from wild edible mushroom Suillus luteus. The structure of new compound was elucidated by high-resolution electrospray ionization mass spectroscopy and nuclear magnetic resonance data. The structures of known compounds were elucidated by comparison of their nuclear magnetic resonance data with literature data. Compounds 1-7 exhibited significant 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl free radical scavenging activity with IC50 values ranging from 1.55 ± 0.29 to 19.89 ± 2.28 µM. In addition, compounds 1-7 also showed tyrosinase inhibitory activity with IC50 values ranging from 21.97 ± 3.74 to 66.26 ± 6.85 µM.

RESUMO

Dictyostelid cellular slime molds (dictyostelids) are protists that are common inhabitants of most soils, where they feed upon bacteria. Changbai Mountain is the highest mountain in northeast China. Soil samples collected on Changbai Mountain yielded 11 isolates representing six species of dictyostelid samples. Two of these species (Dictyostelium robusticaule and Heterostelium recretum) were found to be new to science, based on morphology, SSU rDNA sequences, and an ATPase subunit 1 gene (atp1) phylogeny. The present study also demonstrated that the increased accuracy and lower costs associated with the use of atp1 sequences make them a complement of SSU rDNA sequences for identifying dictyostelids. Changbai Mountain is characterized by a higher diversity of dictyostelids than indicated by the few previous reports. Moreover, the data for Changbai Mountain, compared with comparable data for Taiwan, suggest that differences in diversity at the family level are possibly related to latitude. Mixed broadleaf-conifer forests produced more isolates and species than broadleaf forests at the same elevation and also had the highest species richness, which indicates an effect of vegetation on dictyostelids. However, the pattern of slightly decreasing diversity with increasing elevation in dictyostelids was also apparent. IMPORTANCE Dictyostelium robusticaule and Heterostelium recretum are two new species of dictyostelids reported in this study. The potential use of atp1 sequences is a complement of SSU rDNA sequences for the identifying dictyostelids. A pattern of slightly decreasing diversity with increasing elevation in dictyostelids was observed, with the conditions that exist at lower elevations apparently more suitable for dictyostelids, whereas differences of diversity observed at the family level are possibly related to latitude.

RESUMO

Polysaccharides obtained from mushrooms have been reported to possess immunomodulatory properties. In this study, a water-soluble polysaccharide was purified from the fruiting bodies of Pleurotus abieticola, entitled PAPS1. After its composition and structural analysis, the immunomodulatory activity was investigated in immunosuppressed mice induced by cyclophosphamide (CTX) at a dosage of 70 mg/kg by intraperitoneal injection for 7 days. After 28 days of intragastric administration, PAPS1 alleviated cyclophosphamide (CTX)-induced histopathological damage and increased the expressions of splenic CD4, CD8, CD56 and IgM in the serums of immunosuppressed mice. PAPS1 suppressed the oxidative stress indicated by preventing the increases in ROS and MDA levels. According to the intestinal microflora analysis, PAPS1 regulated 11 bacteria at the gene level, including Helicobacter and Paraprevotella, which are related to immunity and oxidative capacity. Compared with CTX-treated mice, significant increases in immune-related cytokines, such as interleukin (IL)-2, IL-6 and IL-12 in the serums of mice treated with PAPS1, were observed. Finally, PAPS1 can strongly increase the expression of nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor 2 (Nrf2) and its downstream proteins. In conclusion, PAPS1-boosted immunity may be related to its suppression on oxidative stress via enhancing the activity of Nrf2 signaling. Thus, PAPS1 can be investigated as a candidate for immunomodulatory therapy.

RESUMO

Background: Gastric cancer (GC) is the fifth most common malignant tumor and the third leading cause of cancer-related deaths. Because GC has the characteristics of high heterogeneity, unclear mechanism, limited treatment methods, and low five-year survival rate, it is necessary to find the prognostic biomarkers of GC and explore the mechanism of GC. Methods: We first identified differentially expressed genes (DEGs) between gastric cancer and normal gastric cells through expression analysis. A protein-protein interaction (PPI) network was constructed to find tightly connected modules. We performed survival analysis on the DEGs in the modules to identify genes with prognostic significance. Gene set enrichment analysis (GSEA) was used to identify gene enrichment pathways. Finally, we used our own collected clinical samples of 119 gastric adenocarcinoma (STAD) tissues and 40 normal gastric tissues to perform immunohistochemical (IHC) staining to verify the differential expression of COL8A1 in STAD tissues and normal gastric tissues and its correlation with epithelial-mesenchymal transition- (EMT-) related factors. Results: We identified 356 DEGs through differential expression analysis. Through PPI analysis and survival analysis, we determined that the collagen type VII alpha-1 chain (COL8A1) gene has prognostic significance. GSEA analysis showed that COL8A1 was significantly enriched in the EMT. IHC results showed that COL8A1 was upregulated in STAD tissues and could be used as an independent prognostic factor and was related to EMT. Conclusion: This study shows that COL8A1 is related to the prognosis of GC patients and might affect the progress of GC through the EMT pathway. Therefore, COL8A1 may be a biomarker for predicting the prognosis of GC.

RESUMO

Background: Gastric adenocarcinoma (GAD) is one of the most common tumors in the world and the prognosis is still very poor. Objective: We sought to identify reliable prognostic biomarkers for the progression of GAD and the sensitivity to drug therapy. Method: The RNA sequencing data of GAD was downloaded from the Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) database and used for analysis. Differentially expressed, immune-related lncRNA (DEIRlncRNA) was characterized by differential analysis and correlation analysis. Univariate Cox regression analysis was used to identify DEIRlncRNA associated with prognosis. Least absolute shrinkage and selection operator (LASSO) regression analysis allowed us to determine a signature composed of eight IRlncRNAs. Based on this signature, we further performed gene set enrichment analysis (GSEA) and somatic mutation analysis to evaluate the ability of this signature to predict prognosis. Results: In total, 72 immune-related lncRNAs (DEIRlncRNAs) with prognostic value were identified. These lncRNAs were used to construct a model containing eight immune-related lncRNAs (8-IRlncRNAs). Based on this risk model, we divided GAD patients into high-risk and low-risk groups. The analysis showed that the prognosis of the two groups was different and that the high-risk group had worse overall survival (OS). Immune cell infiltration analysis showed that the proportion of memory B cells increased in the high-risk group while the proportion of macrophages M1, T cells, CD4 memory-activated cells, and T cell follicular helpers decreased. GSEA results showed that 8-IRlncRNA was significantly enriched in tumorigenesis pathways such as myc. The results of somatic mutation analysis showed that the CDH1 gene was significantly mutated in the high-risk group. Conclusion: A prognostic signature of 8-IRlncRNAs in GAD was established and this signature was able to predict the prognosis of GAD patients.

RESUMO

China is one of the largest producers and exporters of wild edible fungi in the world. Cultivation mushroom production value ranks within the top five after grain, vegetable, fruit, and edible oil plantation, greater than sugar, cotton, and tobacco business. More than 40 new varieties of high market value mushrooms from our group were highlighted in this article. Mushroom cultivations have a high impact on China's poverty alleviation program, with earnings at least ten times higher than rice and corn. The products were exported to 137 countries and regions, mainly to Japan, South Korea, ASEAN, the USA, and the European Union, among these, Japan is the biggest import market for cultivated mushrooms from China. Rapid development in the market and an increased demand for edible fungi generally enhance the economy of domestic edible fungi. We are the leading research group in logical farm design that is HACCP-certified to reduce the cost of investment for agriculture, thus broadening the consumption market of edible mushrooms and forming a demand-oriented leading industry for the promotion of human health. The enterprise needs to re-examine the operation plan and the strategic thinking to improve the fundamental drivers based on the available resources of the locality. Mushrooms growing intergrate with upgraded technologies and equipment to become smart agriculture which have smart production and intelligent factories. The purpose of suitable products will not change: delicious, nutritious, healthy, and modern. KEY POINTS: • Cultivation mushroom production value ranks within the top five after grain, vegetable, fruit, and edible oil plantation, greater than sugar, cotton, and tobacco business. • Mushroom cultivations have a high impact on China's poverty alleviation program, with earnings at least ten times higher than rice and corn. • The development of transportation and industrialization of mushrooms facilitate the modernization of mushroom industry in China.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: 1,25(OH)2D3/vitamin D3 receptor (VD3/VDR) signaling pathway can inhibit the occurrence of breast cancer in many ways. We used vitamin D3 to interfere with Hyperplasia of mammary glands (HMG) model rats, and to explore the intervention effect of vitamin D3 on HMG. METHODS: We divided 42 female rats into six groups randomly: blank control group, hyperplasia model group, negative control group, and vitamin D3 (VD3) groups of low-dose (LVD, 5 µg/kg), medium-dose (MVD, 10 µg/kg), and high-dose (HVD, 20 µg/kg). We established HMG model in all groups except for the blank control group, then different dose of VD3 was intraperitoneal injected for VD3 groups and normal saline (NS) was given to the negative control group. After the experiment, the body weights, heights and diameters of nipples, and the thickness of the mammary gland of rats were measured. The serum content of sex hormone and VD3 were detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). The tissues of mammary glands were analyzed by hematoxylin and eosin (HE) stain, and the expression of estrogen receptor α (ERα), progesterone receptor (PR), and VDR were detected by immunohistochemical (IHC) stain. Similarly, the total protein expression of ERα, PR, and VDR were measured by western blot. RESULTS: Compared with the hyperplasia group, rats in the VD3 groups displayed a marked decrease of the thickness of the mammary glands and the height and diameter of the nipples. The serum estrogen (E2), testosterone (T), luteinizing hormone (LH), and VD3 was markedly decreased in all VD3 groups (P<0.05). The IHC results showed that ERα and PR was decreased in all three VD3 groups; however, VDR was increased. Western blot demonstrated that both ERα and PR were reduced in VD3 groups, while the VDR level was significantly enhanced. Overall, the findings suggested that VD3 could be used in HMG treatment. CONCLUSIONS: Supplementation of VD3 could markedly decrease the mammary gland thickness, nipple diameter, and nipple height of rats, accompanied by the decrease of serum E2, T, and LH. Intervention with VD3 can lead to decreased expression of ERa and PR, in conjunction with the increase of VDR.

RESUMO

In China, Armillaria mellea (Vahl) P. Kumm. has been used as a folk medicine to treat insomnia for several hundred years. However, the underlying mechanisms involved are currently unknown. In this study, the anti-insomnia efficacy of A. mellea fermentation liquor (AFL) was evaluated in p-chlorophenylalanine-induced insomnia rats by measuring the serotonergic systems and gut microbiota. Our results demonstrate that all doses of AFL significantly reduced locomotor activity and alleviated decreasing weights in insomnia rats. Further, AFL exhibited better sedative effects by reducing sleep latency and increasing sleep duration in pentobarbital-treated rats. AFL treatment also elevated serum glutathione peroxidase and superoxide dismutase levels, while reducing serum interleukin-6, tumor necrosis factor-α, and interleukin-1ß levels. Furthermore, AFL alleviated insomnia by enhancing 5-hydroxytryptamine content and the expression 5-HT1A and 5-HT2A receptor in the hippocampus. Meanwhile, AFL treatment normalized the composition of gut microbiota in insomnia-model rats, while increasing relative abundance of Lachnospiraceae, Ruminococcaceae, and Saccharimonadaceae restores the gut microbial ecosystem altered in insomnia rats. The experiments show that A. mellea alleviated insomnia by modulating serotonergic system and gut microbiota. PRACTICAL APPLICATIONS: Insomnia has become a serious health issue of global concern. As a well-known traditional Chinese medicine, Armillaria mellea has been clinically employed in the treatment of insomnia for centuries in Asia with significant efficacy. In the present study, we firstly reported A. mellea fermentation liquor potentially relieved insomnia rats by alteration of gut microbiota and serotonergic systems and could guide future clinical studies. As a popular edible and medicinal mushroom, A. mellea also can be potentially used in the development and production of novel food products in the future.

RESUMO

The medicinal fungus Sanghuangporus vaninii can be cultivated in large scale and has outstanding antitumour activity. In this study, water-soluble S. vaninii polysaccharides (SVPs) were extracted from fruiting bodies. Four polysaccharide sub-fractions (SVP-W, SVP-1, SVP-2 and SVP-3) were isolated, with molecular weights from 90.50 kDa to 261.70 kDa, and all inhibited the proliferation of non-small cell lung cancer cell lines A549, 95-D and NCI-H460, especially the acidic SVP-1. SVP-1 affected cell morphology and colony formation in NCI-H460 cells. It also promoted cell apoptosis following nuclear fluorescence staining and flow cytometry. Methylation and nuclear magnetic resonance analyses revealed that SVP-1 is a heteroglycan with the main chain →4)-ß-D-Glcp-(1 â†’ 6)-ß-D-Glcp-(1 â†’ 6)-α-D-Galp-(1 â†’ 6)-ß-D-Glcp-(1→, and the branched chain α-D-Manp-(1 â†’ 2)-α-D-Manp-(1 â†’ 3)-ß-D-Glcp-(1 â†’ 3,6)-ß-D-Glcp-(1→. The findings indicate that this natural acidic polysaccharide has potential for non-small cell lung cancer therapy.

RESUMO

Background: The optimal ventilatory strategy for the face mask ventilation during anesthesia induction is still unknow. Methods: We evaluated the effect of two positive end-expiratory pressure (PEEP) levels (0 cmH2O and 6 cmH2O) and two oxygen concentration levels (1.0 and .6) on non-hypoxemic apnea time during face mask ventilation of anesthesia induction. Sixty adult patients scheduled for elective surgery were enrolled in this study. The patients were randomized to receive anesthesia induction with four different ventilation strategy under volume-controlled ventilation. Patients assigned to the LOZP group received low fraction of inspiration O2 (FiO2 = .6) and 0 PEEP. Patients assigned to the LOHP group received low fraction of inspiration O2 (FiO2 = .6) and 6 cmH2O PEEP. Patients assigned to the HOZP group received high fraction of inspiration O2 (FiO2 = 1.0) and 0 PEEP. Patients assigned to the HOHP group received high fraction of inspiration O2 (FiO2 = 1.0) and 6cmH2O PEEP. After 3 min of ventilation, the patient was intubated but disconnected from the breathing circuit. Ventilation was not initiated until the pulse oximetry dropped to 90%. The primary outcome was non-hypoxemic apnea time defined as the time from cessation of ventilation to a pulse oximeter reading of 90%. The secondary outcome was the PaO2/FiO2 ratio immediately after ventilation. Results: The non-hypoxemic apnea time was significantly longer in the group of HOHP when compared to the other three groups (192 s ± 70 s, 221 s ± 74 s, 284 s ± 101 s, and 353 s ± 85 s in the LOZP, LOHP, HOZP, and HOHP group, respectively). The PaO2/FiO2 ratio immediately after ventilation was significantly higher in the group of LOHP when compared to the other three groups (LOZP 393 ± 130, LOHP 496 ± 97, HOZP 335 ± 58, HOHP 391 ± 50). When compared the PaO2/FiO2 ratio immediately after ventilation to its value before administration of anesthesia, the PaO2/FiO2 ratio in the group of LOHP was improved, the group LOZP and HOHP remained the same, while the group HOZP significantly decreased. Conclusion: Application of PEEP and 100% of oxygen during face mask ventilation of induction could maximize the non-hypoxemic apnea time. However, the use of PEEP and 60% of oxygen during preoxygenation resulted in improved PaO2/FiO2 ratio.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Cutaneous melanoma is a highly malignant skin tumor, and most patients have a poor prognosis. In recent years, immunotherapy has assumed an important role in the treatment of advanced cutaneous melanoma, but only a small percentage of patients benefit from immunotherapy. A growing number of studies have demonstrated that the prognosis of patients with cutaneous melanoma is closely related to long non-coding RNA and the tumor immune microenvironment. METHODS: We downloaded RNA expression data and immune-related gene lists of cutaneous melanoma patients separately from The Cancer Genome Atlas database and ImmPort website and identified immune-related lncRNAs by co-expression analysis. The prognostic model was constructed by applying least absolute shrinkage and selection operator regression, and all patients were classified into high- and low-risk groups according to the risk score of the model. We evaluated the differences between the two groups in terms of survival outcomes, immune infiltration, pathway enrichment, chemotherapeutic drug sensitivity and immune checkpoint gene expression to verify the impact of lncRNA signature on clinical prognosis and immunotherapy efficacy. RESULTS: By correlation analysis and LASSO regression analysis, we constructed an immune-related lncRNA prognostic model based on five lncRNA: HLA-DQB1-AS1, MIR205HG, RP11-643G5.6, USP30-AS1 and RP11-415F23.4. Based on this model, we plotted Kaplan-Meier survival curves and time-dependent ROC curves and analyzed its ability as an independent prognostic factor for cutaneous melanoma in combination with clinicopathological features. The results showed that these lncRNA signature was an independent prognostic factor of cutaneous melanoma with favorable prognostic ability. Our results also show a higher degree of immune infiltration, higher expression of immune checkpoint-associated genes, and better outcome of immunotherapy in the low-risk group of the lncRNA signature. CONCLUSION: The 5 immune-related lncRNA signatures constructed in our study can predict the prognosis of cutaneous melanoma and contribute to the selection of immunotherapy.

RESUMO

Wild mushrooms are an important source of secondary metabolites possessing a broad range of biological activities. In this study, eight new compounds, named furanopaxin A-F (1-6), deoxybisinvolutone (7), and coumarinvol (8) along with two known compounds were isolated from fruiting bodies of the wild mushroom Paxillus involutus (Batsch) Fr. Their structures were established based on HR-ESI-MS and 1D and 2D NMR spectroscopic data. The results of hypoglycemic assays indicated that compounds 5-8 possessed significant α-glucosidase inhibitory activities, with IC50 values ranging from 14.65 ± 1.68 to 47.55 ± 1.47 µM, and each compound could enhance glucose consumption in insulin-resistance HepG2 cells. Further analysis by molecular docking implied that compounds 5-8 could interact with the amino acid residues of α-glucosidase, supporting the hypoglycemic activity of the compounds.

RESUMO

Wild edible mushrooms are important as a source of nutraceuticals and for the discovery of bioactive metabolites as pharmaceuticals. In this work, 10 rare 2,5-diarylcyclopentenone derivatives were isolated from the wild edible mushroom Paxillus involutus (Batsch) Fr., including eight novel compounds termed involutenone A-H (1-8) and two previously identified compounds (9-10). Their structures were established using high-resolution electrospray ionization mass spectroscopy and 1D and 2D nuclear magnetic resonance data. The absolute configurations of compounds 1-3 and 6-8 were assigned based on the comparison of the experimental and calculated electronic circular dichroism data. The antioxidant activities of 1-8 were tested through DPPH free radical scavenging, hydroxyl radical scavenging, and superoxide anion radical scavenging assays. Compounds 3, 5, 6, and 7 demonstrated significant antioxidant activity compared to the positive control (tert-butylhydroquinone). These compounds could be effective natural antioxidants with considerable pharmaceutical value.

RESUMO

PURPOSE: To systematically evaluate the correlation between PD-L1 expression and clinicopathological features and prognosis of colorectal cancer (CRC). METHODS: Seven databases (PubMed, Cochrane Library, EMBASE, Web of Science, CBM, Wanfang, and CNKI) were searched through May 2020. Risk of bias and quality of evidence were assessed by using the Newcastle-Ottawa scale (NOS), and meta-analysis was carried out by using the Review Manager 5.3 software on the studies with the quality evaluation scores ≥ 6. Meta-regression analysis was used to determine the independent role of PD-L1 expression on CRC prognosis after adjusting clinicopathological features and treatment methods. RESULTS: A total of 8823 CRC patients in 32 eligible studies. PD-L1 expression was correlated with lymphatic metastasis (yes/no; OR = 1.24, 95% CI (1.11, 1.38)), diameter of tumor (≥ 5 cm/< 5 cm; OR = 1.34, 95% CI (1.06, 1.70)), differentiation (high-middle/low; OR = 0.68, 95% CI (0.53, 0.87)), and vascular invasion (yes/no; OR = 0.80, 95% CI (0.69, 0.92)). PD-L1 expression shortened the overall survival (hazard ratio (HR) = 1.93, 95% CI (1.66, 2.25)), disease-free survival (HR = 1.76, 95% CI (1.50, 2.07)), and progression-free survival (HR = 1.93, 95% CI (1.55, 2.41)). Meta-regression showed that PD-L1 expression played a significant role on poor CRC OS (HR = 1.95, 95% CI (1.92, 3.98)) and disease-free survival (HR = 2.14, 95% CI (0.73, 4.52)). CONCLUSION: PD-L1 expression independently predicted a poor prognosis of CRC.

RESUMO

In this study, the color of the dry fruiting bodies, fresh weight (FW): dry weight (DW) ratio, amino acids, and total phenolics, which are of nutritional or commercial interest, were compared among different drying temperature treatments. The effect of rehydration methods and color protection reagents on the fruiting body color, polyphenol oxidase (PPO) activity, and browning inhibition rate were evaluated. The results showed that drying with hot air at 65℃ was quickest and resulted in a better color without compromising the FW:DW ratio and rehydration ratio of the fruiting bodies. Furthermore, some reactions that occurred under high temperatures increased the content of protein, amino acids, and total phenolics. Soaking after boiling was the most suitable rehydration method, leading to the lowest PPO activity (39.87 ± 1.35 U/g). All of the four analyzed color protection reagents could significantly inhibit the browning of Yu Muer fruiting bodies under room temperature water rehydration conditions, with a citric acid content of 6 g/L showing the best performance. These results provide technical support for the development of the Yu Muer industry and for promoting the commercial processing of Yu Muer fruiting bodies slices.
