RESUMO

Hepeviruses have been identified in a broad range of animal hosts, including mammals, birds, and fish. In this study, rodents (n=91) from seven different species and ten pikas (Ochotona curzoniae) were collected in Qinghai Province, China. Using transcriptomic sequencing and confirmatory molecular testing, hepeviruses were detected in 27 of 45 (60 %) long-tailed dwarf hamsters (Cricetulus longicaudatus) and were undetected in other rodents and pika. The complete genome sequences from 14 representative strains were subsequently obtained, and phylogenetic analyses suggested that they represent a novel species within the genus Rocahepevirus, which we tentatively designated as Cl-2018QH. The virus was successfully isolated in human hepatoma (Huh-7) and murine fibroblast (17 Cl-1) cell lines, though both exhibited limited replication as assayed by detection of negative-sense RNA intermediates. A129 immunodeficient mice were inoculated with Cl-2018QH and the virus was consistently detected in multiple organs, despite relatively low viral loads. In summary, this study has described a novel rodent hepevirus, which enhances our knowledge of the genetic diversity of rodent hepeviruses and highlights its potential for cross-species transmission.

Objective: To prospectively determine the median effective dose (ED50) of propofol for inhibiting a response to laryngeal mask airway (LMA) insertion when combined with different doses of esketamine in female patients. Methods: A total of 58 female patients (aged 20-60 years, ASAⅠ-Ⅱ) scheduled for elective hysteroscopy were enrolled and randomly divided into 2 groups, one of which was administered 0.2 mg/kg of esketamine (K1 group, n = 28) and the other 0.3 mg/kg of esketamine (K2 group, n = 30). The 2 groups received the corresponding doses of esketamine intravenously, followed by an intravenous injection of propofol (injection time was 30 s). The initial dose of propofol was 2 mg/kg, and the dose ratio of propofol in the adjacent patients was 0.9. If a positive reaction occurred due to LMA insertion, the dose ratio in the next patient was increased by 1 gradient; if not, the dose ratio was decreased by 1 gradient. The ED50, 95 % effective dose (ED95) and 95 % confidence interval (CI) of propofol for inhibiting a response to LMA insertion in the 2 esketamine groups were calculated using probit analysis. Results: The ED50 of propofol for inhibiting a response to LMA insertion in female patients was 1.95 mg/kg (95 % CI, 1.82-2.08 mg/kg) in the K1 group and 1.60 mg/kg (95 % CI, 1.18-1.83 mg/kg) in the K2 group. The ED95 of propofol for inhibiting a response to LMA insertion in female patients was 2.22 mg/kg (95 % CI, 2.09-2.86 mg/kg) in the K1 group and 2.15 mg/kg (95 % CI, 1.88-3.09 mg/kg) in the K2 group. Conclusion: Propofol combined with 0.3 mg/kg of esketamine has low ED50 and ED95 effective doses for inhibiting an LMA insertion response in female patients undergoing hysteroscopy and surgery. There were no significant adverse effects, but the additional dose of propofol and airway pressure were significantly higher than those in the group administered 0.2 mg/kg of esketamine. Based on the results, we recommend the combination of propofol with 0.2 mg/kg esketamine for optimal conditions during LMA insertion in women undergoing hysteroscopy.

Background: Cerebral extracranial-intracranial (EC-IC) revascularization technique (superficial temporal artery-middle cerebral artery (STA-MCA) bypass grafting) has become the preferred surgical method for the treatment of Moyamoya disease (MMD). We attempted to completely free the two branches of the superficial temporal artery without disconnection. Extracranial and intracranial blood flow reconstruction were then modified by selectively performing a direct bypass technique on one branch and a patch fusion technique on the other of the STA based on the blood flow and the vascular diameter of the intracranial surface blood vessels. Methods: A series of modified STA-MCA bypass surgeries performed consecutively between March 2022 and March 2023 were reviewed and compared to conventional combined bypass surgeries performed during the same period. The following information was collected from all enrolled patients: demographic characteristics, clinical symptoms, and preoperative and postoperative imaging, including Suzuki stage and Matsushima grade. The modified Rankin scale (mRS) was used to assess the changes in neurological status before and after surgery. Results: A total of 41 patients with Moyamoya disease (MMD) who underwent cerebral revascularization were included in this study, of which 30 were conventional revascularization and 11 were modified revascularization. The mean age was 49.91 years, and 18 (43.9%) of the patients were women. The modified group had a lower incidence of cerebral hyperperfusion syndrome (18.2%) than the conventional group (23.3%). After at least 3 months of follow-up, the bypass patency rate remained 100% in the modified group and 93.3% in the conventional group. All patients in the modified group achieved a better Matsushima grade (A + B), with six (54.5%) having an A and five (45.5%) having a B. In contrast, four patients (13.3%) in the conventional group had a Matsushima grade of C. In all, 72.8% of the modified group had postoperative mRS scores of 0 and 1, which was higher than that of the traditional group (63.3%). Conclusion: The improved STA-MCA bypass could provide blood flow to multiple cerebral ischemic areas, reduce excessive blood perfusion, and ensure blood supply to the scalp, with lower complications and better clinical benefits than the traditional combined bypass.

BACKGROUND: The metastatic vascular patterns of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) are mainly microvascular invasion (MVI) and vessels encapsulating tumor clusters (VETC). However, most existing VETC-related radiological studies still focus on the prediction of VETC status. PURPOSE: This study aimed to build and compare VETC-MVI related models (clinical, radiomics, and deep learning) associated with recurrence-free survival of HCC patients. STUDY TYPE: Retrospective. POPULATION: 398 HCC patients (349 male, 49 female; median age 51.7 years, and age range: 22-80 years) who underwent resection from five hospitals in China. The patients were randomly divided into training cohort (n = 358) and test cohort (n = 40). FIELD STRENGTH/SEQUENCE: 3-T, pre-contrast T1-weighted imaging spoiled gradient recalled echo (T1WI SPGR), T2-weighted imaging fast spin echo (T2WI FSE), and contrast enhanced arterial phase (AP), delay phase (DP). ASSESSMENT: Two radiologists performed the segmentation of HCC on T1WI, T2WI, AP, and DP images, from which radiomic features were extracted. The RFS related clinical characteristics (VETC, MVI, Barcelona stage, tumor maximum diameter, and alpha fetoprotein) and radiomic features were used to build the clinical model, clinical-radiomic (CR) nomogram, deep learning model. The follow-up process was done 1 month after resection, and every 3 months subsequently. The RFS was defined as the date of resection to the date of recurrence confirmed by radiology or the last follow-up. Patients were followed up until December 31, 2022. STATISTICAL TESTS: Univariate COX regression, least absolute shrinkage and selection operator (LASSO), Kaplan-Meier curves, log-rank test, C-index, and area under the curve (AUC). P < 0.05 was considered statistically significant. RESULTS: The C-index of deep learning model achieved 0.830 in test cohort compared with CR nomogram (0.731), radiomic signature (0.707), and clinical model (0.702). The average RFS of the overall patients was 26.77 months (range 1-80 months). DATA CONCLUSION: MR deep learning model based on VETC and MVI provides a potential tool for survival assessment. EVIDENCE LEVEL: 3 TECHNICAL EFFICACY: Stage 3.

Hormone replacement therapy (HRT) is not recommended for treating learning and memory decline in menopausal women because it exerts adverse effects by activating classic estrogen receptors ERα and ERß. The membrane estrogen receptor G protein-coupled receptor 30 (GPR30) has been reported to be involved in memory modulation; however, the underlying mechanisms are poorly understood. Here, we found that GPR30 deletion in astrocytes, but not in neurons, impaired learning and memory in female mice. Astrocytic GPR30 depletion induced A1 phenotype transition, impairing neuronal function. Further exploration revealed that Praja1 (PJA1), a RING ubiquitin ligase, mediated the effects of astrocytic GPR30 on learning and memory by binding to Serpina3n, which is a molecular marker of neuroinflammation in astrocytes. GPR30 positively modulated PJA1 expression through the CREB signaling pathway in cultured murine and human astrocytes. Additionally, the mRNA levels of GPR30 and PJA1 were reduced in exosomes isolated from postmenopausal women while Serpina3n levels were increased in the plasma. Together, our findings suggest a key role for astrocytic GPR30 in the learning and memory abilities of female mice and identify GPR30/PJA1/Serpina3n as potential therapeutic targets for learning and memory loss in peri- and postmenopausal women.

Lung transplantation is the definitive therapy for end-stage pulmonary sarcoidosis. While recurrent sarcoidosis in allografts has been described in several case reports, the incidence and clinicopathologic characteristics remain unclear. In this study, we characterize the clinical and histopathologic features of recurrent sarcoidosis diagnosed in posttransplant lung surveillance transbronchial biopsies (TBBx). We identified 35 patients who underwent lung transplant for pulmonary sarcoidosis during the study period. Among them, 18 patients (51%) experienced recurrent sarcoidosis posttransplant. These included 7 females and 11 males with mean age at recurrence of 51.6 years. The average time interval from transplant to recurrence was 252 days (22 to 984 d). All TBBx contained >4 pieces of alveolated lung tissue with no evidence of International Society for Heart and Lung Transplantation (ISHLT) grade A2, A3, or A4 acute cellular rejection; chronic rejection; or antibody-mediated rejection. There were 33 surveillance TBBx that contained granulomatous inflammation with a mean of 3.6 well-formed granulomas per TBBx (range: 1 to >20). Multinucleated giant cells were identified in 11 TBBx (33.3%), with 1 case containing asteroid bodies. While most of the granulomas were "naked granulomas," 5 cases (15.2%) showed prominent lymphoid cuffing. Two cases showed evidence of fibrosis. One of the granulomas had focal necrosis; however, no infectious organisms were identified by special stains and clinical correlation suggested this case represented recurrent sarcoidosis. Biopsies of recurrent sarcoidosis usually show multiple well-formed granulomas with giant cells in more than half of the cases, while lymphoid cuffing, fibrosis, asteroid bodies, and necrotizing granulomas are uncommon findings. Pathologists should be aware of these features, as recurrence of sarcoidosis following lung transplant occurs in more than half of patients.

Metal-polarized aza-ortho-quinone methides (aza-o-QMs) are a unique and efficient handle for azaheterocycle synthesis. Despite great achievements, the potential of these reactive intermediates has not yet been fully exploited, especially the new reaction modes. Herein, we disclosed an unprecedented dearomatization process of metal-polarized aza-o-QMs, affording transient dearomatized spiroaziridine intermediates. Based on this serendipity, we accomplished three sequential dearomatization-rearomatization reactions of benzimidazolines with aza-sulfur ylides, enabling the divergent synthesis of bis-nitrogen heterocycles with high efficiency and flexibility. Moreover, experimental and theoretical studies were performed to explain the proposed mechanisms and observed selectivity. Further cellular evaluation of the dibenzodiazepine products identified a hit compound for new antitumor drugs.

Background: Tourniquet pain is the most prominent problem in ankle surgery, and there is no proper method to predict it. It was reported that pain sensitivity questionnaires could evaluate the pain sensitivity of subjects. Its potential to predict tourniquet pain in ankle surgery is constructive and meaningful. Methods: One hundred and twenty patients undergoing ankle surgery were included in this study. The pain sensitivity questionnaire (PSQ) and self-rating anxiety scale (SAS) were completed before the operation. The methods included an ultrasound-guided popliteal sciatic, a femoral nerve block, and a proximal thigh tourniquet. The pressure of the tourniquet was set according to the systolic blood pressure (SBP + 100 mmHg). A visual analogue scale (VAS) was used to assess the tourniquet pain. Also, the onset time of tourniquet pain ≥4 VAS units was recorded. Results: The PSQ-total and PSQ-minor scores were significantly correlated with the onset time when the tourniquet pain ≥4 VAS units (r = -0.763, r = -0.731, P < 0.001). The PSQ-total score <6.5 group gave significantly lower ratings for items 3, 4, 14, and 16 in the PSQ survey compared to the PSQ-total score ≥6.5 group (P < 0.05). Patients with high pain sensitivity have a higher need for analgesic drugs (P < 0.001). PSQ-total score ≥6.5 (OR = 185.8, 95% CI = 39.8-1,437.6, P < 0.001), sex (male, OR = 0.11, 95% CI = 0.018-0.488, P < 0.05), and age (OR = 0.92, 95% CI = 0.842-0.995, P < 0.05) were risk factors for reporting a tourniquet pain ≥4 VAS units within 30 min. Conclusion: The PSQ score is found to be correlated with intraoperative tourniquet pain. In addition, sex and age also affect the time of having intraoperative tourniquet pain.

The ultrasensitive and quantitative detection of renal cancer protein biomarkers present at ultralow concentrations for early-stage cancer diagnosis requires a biosensing probe possessing ultrahigh detection sensitivity and remarkable biosensing selectivity. Here, we report an optical microfiber integrated with Ti3C2-supported gold nanorod hybrid nanointerfaces for implementation in ultrasensitive sensing of the carbonic anhydrase IX (CAIX) protein and renal cancer cells. Because the evanescent field of the fiber is strongly coupled with nanointerfaces in the near-infrared region, the proposed optical microfiber biosensor achieves ultrahigh-sensitivity detection of the CAIX protein biomarker with ultralow limits of detection (LODs) of 13.8 zM in pure buffer solution and 0.19 aM in 30% serum solution. In addition, the proposed sensor also successfully and specifically recognizes living renal cancer cells in cell culture media with a LOD of 180 cells/mL. This strategy may serves as a powerful biosensing platform that combines the quantification of protein biomarkers and cancer cells, resulting in a higher accuracy of early-stage renal cancer diagnosis and screenings.

BACKGROUND: Immune-related adverse events (irAEs) are side effects that reflect the activation of patients' immune systems after treatment with immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs). However, there is no meta-analysis on the effect of early irAEs on patient survival. Thus, we assessed the association between early irAEs and the survival of patients treated with ICIs. METHODS: PubMed, Embase, and Web of Science were searched from May 2010 to May 2020 for all the retrospective and prospective comparative studies to evaluate the hazard ratios (HRs) for death. A random-effects model was used to calculate the pooled HR for death, and heterogeneity was assessed using I² statistics. The main outcomes were overall survival (OS) and progression-free survival (PFS). RESULTS: A total of 11 reports with 2077 patients were included. A significant association was observed between early irAEs and a favorable clinical outcome. Patients with early irAEs had prolonged OS (HR: 0.62, 95% confidence interval (CI): 0.53-0.74, p < 0.001) and PFS (HR: 0.53, 95% CI: 0.41-0.66, p < 0.001) compared to those without; these results were confirmed using a sensitivity analysis. The irAE types, malignancy types, and sample size were correlated with patients' clinical outcomes. CONCLUSIONS: Early irAEs, especially cutaneous irAEs, correlated with a better clinical outcome in patients treated with ICIs.

PURPOSE: To report the efficacy and safety of postoperative adjuvant hepatic arterial infusion chemotherapy (HAIC) with 5-fluorouracil and oxaliplatin (FOLFOX) in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) patients with microvascular invasion (MVI). PATIENTS AND METHODS: In this randomized, open-label, multicenter trial, histologically confirmed HCC patients with MVI were randomly assigned (1:1) to receive adjuvant FOLFOX-HAIC (treatment group) or routine follow-up (control group). The primary end point was disease-free survival (DFS) by intention-to-treat (ITT) analysis while secondary end points were overall survival, recurrence rate, and safety. RESULTS: Between June 2016 and August 2021, a total of 315 patients (ITT population) at five centers were randomly assigned to the treatment group (n = 157) or the control group (n = 158). In the ITT population, the median DFS was 20.3 months (95% CI, 10.4 to 30.3) in the treatment group versus 10.0 months (95% CI, 6.8 to 13.2) in the control group (hazard ratio, 0.59; 95% CI, 0.43 to 0.81; P = .001). The overall survival rates at 1 year, 2 years, and 3 years were 93.8% (95% CI, 89.8 to 98.1), 86.4% (95% CI, 80.0 to 93.2), and 80.4% (95% CI, 71.9 to 89.9) for the treatment group and 92.0% (95% CI, 87.6 to 96.7), 86.0% (95% CI, 79.9 to 92.6), and 74.9% (95% CI, 65.5 to 85.7) for the control group (hazard ratio, 0.64; 95% CI, 0.36 to 1.14; P = .130), respectively. The recurrence rates were 40.1% (63/157) in the treatment group and 55.7% (88/158) in the control group. Majority of the adverse events were grade 0-1 (83.8%), with no treatment-related death in both groups. CONCLUSION: Postoperative adjuvant HAIC with FOLFOX significantly improved the DFS benefits with acceptable toxicities in HCC patients with MVI.

Objective: The aim of this study was to compare the therapeutic effects of the mini-open incision and conventional open surgery for carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS). Methods: The clinical data of 52 patients with CTS treated at the First Affiliated Hospital of the University of Science and Technology of China from October 2020 to February 2022 were retrospectively analyzed. The patients were divided into the conventional open surgery group (28 cases) and the mini-open incision group (24 cases) according to different surgical incisions applied. The incision length, operation time, time until postoperative return to work, and complications were observed in the two groups. The Visual Analog Scale (VAS) for pain at one day, one month, and three months after surgery and the Boston Carpal Tunnel Questionnaire scores before, at one month, and at three months after surgery were compared between the two groups. Results: The incision length, operation time, and time until return to work in the mini-open incision group were all shorter than those in the conventional open surgery group (2.58 ± 0.35 vs. 7.32 ± 0.61 cm, 18.67 ± 2.62 vs. 29.46 ± 3.42 min, and 5.33 ± 1.40 vs. 13.86 ± 2.70 d, respectively), and differences were statistically significant (P < 0.05 in all). The VAS scores in the mini-open incision group were lower than those in the conventional open surgery group at one day and one month after surgery, while the difference in the VAS scores at three months after surgery was not statistically significant between the two groups. There was no statistically significant difference in neurological recovery between the two groups at postoperative follow-ups (P > 0.05). The incidences of postoperative scar hyperplasia and scar pain were higher in the conventional open surgery group than those in the mini-open incision group, and differences were statistically significant (P < 0.05 in both). Conclusion: Mini-open incision surgery for CTS was a safe and reliable procedure with a precise therapeutic effect, minimal surgical trauma, and high postoperative comfort for patients and could achieve enhanced recovery. Searching for efficient strategies to access structurally novel aminoindolines is of great significance for drug discovery. However, catalytic asymmetric de novo construction of aminoindoline scaffolds with functionality primed for diversification still remains elusive. Here, we report a Cu-catalyzed asymmetric cyclization of ethynyl benzoxazinones with amines, producing chiral 3-aminoindolines in good yield and with high enantioselectivity (up to 97% yield and 98:2 er). Moreover, a radical-mediated sulfonyl migration of these products was unexpectedly found, further affording new chiral 3-aminoindolines bearing alkenyl sulfonyl groups with retained enantiopurity (up to 84% yield and 98:2 er). Bioactivity evaluations indicate that these 3-aminoindolines show notable antitumor activities and chirality is proven to have a significant impact on their antitumor activity.

Objectives: This study aims to investigate the relationship between preoperative sleep disturbance and postoperative pain in patients with a rotator cuff tear, and to provide a theoretical basis for taking corresponding interventions to alleviate postoperative pain in patients with rotator cuff tear. Methods: A total of 87 patients, who had undergone shoulder arthroscopy due to rotator cuff injury in Hunan Provincial People's Hospital from January to October 2021, were selected as the research subjects. The Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) was used to evaluate the sleep quality of patients with rotator cuff tears. All patients were divided into the low sleep quality group (PSQI score >7 points, n = 61) and the high sleep quality group (PSQI score ≤7 points, n = 26). Postoperative pain was assessed by using the Numerical Rating Scale (NRS). General clinical data of the patients were collected 1 day, 2 days, and 1 month after surgery. Univariate and multivariate analyses of influencing factors were performed in patients with moderate or above pain at 1 month after surgery. Results: The score of postoperative pain of patients in the high sleep quality group was significantly lower than that of patients in the low sleep quality group (P < 0.05). A total of 35 patients (40.2%) had moderate or above pain 1 month after surgery, including 5 patients (19.2%) in the high sleep quality group and 30 patients (49.2%) in the low sleep quality group. The incidence rate of the low sleep quality group was significantly higher than that of the high sleep quality group (P = 0.009). After controlling confounding factors, preoperative sleep disturbance of patients was still independently associated with the occurrence of moderate or above pain 1 month after surgery (OR = 3.794, 95% CI: 1.261-11.409, P = 0.018). Conclusion: Preoperative sleep disturbance can increase the risk of postoperatively moderate or above pain threshold in patients with rotator cuff tear. Paying more attention to and actively improving preoperative sleep disturbance can effectively promote postoperative pain management in patients with rotator cuff tears.

Müller-Weiss Disease (MWD) is a rare foot disease with unclear etiology but frequently occurred in women. Due to the resistance to conservative treatment, surgical therapy has gradually occupied a necessary position in the clinical management of MWD. Joint fusion surgery is a commonly used treatment for MWD, which could effectively alleviate pain, correct deformation, and restore function. A total of 12 MWD patients (III-V stage) were enrolled in this study. All patients showed no significant improvement in conservative treatment and further received the triple and talonavicular arthrodesis. All patients were followed up with an average follow-up of 16.8 ± 1.19 months (mean ± SD). The triple and talonavicular arthrodesis significantly ameliorated the pain and walking dysfunction in the affected foot. The American Orthopedic Foot Andankle Society (AOFAS) scores dramatically increased from 43.4 ± 16.1 to 85.3 ± 6.2. Meanwhile, the conducting of triple and talonavicular arthrodesis improved the X-ray length (15.5 ± 0.8 vs. 14.3 ± 0.9 cm) and arch height (18.6 ± 0.9 vs. 10.2 ± 0.7 mm) and reduced the Meary-Tomeno angle (1.3 ± 2.5 vs. 2.14 ± 4.8°). The triple and talonavicular arthrodesis achieved a satisfying therapeutic effect on MWD patients at the III-V stage, which improved patients' outcomes and the quality of life.

Background: Sepsis is one of the leading causes of morbidity and mortality worldwide in the intensive care unit (ICU). The prognosis of the disease strongly depends on rapid diagnosis and appropriate treatment. Thus, some new and accurate sepsis-related biomarkers are pressing needed and their efficiency should be carefully demonstrated. Methods: Differential expression analysis and weighted gene co-expression network analysis (WGCNA) were applied to detect sepsis and monocyte/macrophage-related genes. Least absolute shrinkage and selection operator (LASSO) and random forest regression analyses were used in combination to screen out prognostic genes. Single-cell RNA sequence profiling was utilized to further verify the expression of these genes on a single cell level. Receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve and decision curve analysis (DCA) were also applied to verify the diagnostic value of the target biomarkers. Results: The intersections of the genes detected by differential expression and WGCNA analyses identified 141 overlapping candidate genes that were closely related to sepsis and macrophages. The LASSO and random forest regression analyses further screened out 17 prognostic genes. Single-cell RNA sequencing analysis detected that FCGR1A and BCL2A1 might be potential biomarkers for sepsis diagnosis and the diagnostic efficacy of BCL2A1 was further validated by ROC curve and DCA. Conclusions: It was revealed that BCL2A1 had good diagnostic and prognostic value for sepsis, and that it can be applied as a potential and novel biomarker for the management of the disease.

Objective: We aimed to explore the expression and carcinogenic effect of KRT17 in human tumors and provide useful information for the study of KRT17. Methods: We used databases including the Cancer Genome Atlas, Gene Expression Omnibus, GTEx, and GEPIA2 to analyze the expression, mutation, and prognosis of KRT17 in human tumors. Through webservers, including UALCAN, TIMER2.0, and STRING, we learned about the genetic variation, immune cell penetration, and enrichment analysis of KRT17-related genes. Results: KRT17 was highly expressed in most tumors (such as esophageal cancer, lung cancer, cervical cancer, etc.), and the high expression level correlated with tumor stage and prognosis. In addition, amplification was the main type of KRT17 tumor variation, with an amplification rate of about 9%, followed by mutation, with a mutation rate of 4%. Moreover, KRT17 was strongly associated with tumor-infiltrating immune cells (such as macrophages, CD8+T, Tregs, and cancer-associated fibroblasts). KEGG analysis suggested that KRT17 may play a role in tumor pathogenesis following human papillomavirus infection, and the gene ontology enrichment analysis indicated that the carcinogenicity of KRT17 can be attributed to cadherin binding, intermediate fibrocytoskeleton and epidermal development. Conclusion: KRT17 may play an important role in the occurrence, development, and prognosis of malignant tumors. We provided a relatively comprehensive description of the carcinogenic role of KRT17 in different tumors for the first time.

Cervical cancer (CC) is one of the three majors gynecological malignancies, which seriously threatens women's health and life. Radiotherapy (RT) is one of the most common treatments for cervical cancer, which can reduce local recurrence and prolong survival in patients with cervical cancer. However, the resistance of cancer cells to Radiotherapy are the main cause of treatment failure in patients with cervical cancer. Long non-coding RNAs (LncRNAs) are a group of non-protein-coding RNAs with a length of more than 200 nucleotides, which play an important role in regulating the biological behavior of cervical cancer. Recent studies have shown that LncRNAs play a key role in regulating the sensitivity of radiotherapy for cervical cancer. In this review, we summarize the structure and function of LncRNAs and the molecular mechanism of radiosensitivity in cervical cancer, list the LncRNAs associated with radiosensitivity in cervical cancer, analyze their potential mechanisms, and discuss the potential clinical application of these LncRNAs in regulating radiosensitivity in cervical cancer.

The interaction between cysteine with Li+ and LiF in the microcosmic water environment was investigated to elucidate how ions interact with amino acids and the cation-anion correlation effect involved. The structures of Cys·Li+(H2O) n and Cys·LiF(H2O) n (n = 0-6) were characterized using ab initio calculations. Our studies show that the water preferentially interacts with Li+/LiF. In Cys·Li+(H2O)0-6, Li+ interacts with amino nitrogen, carbonyl oxygen, and hydrophobic sulfur of Cys to form a tridentate mode, whereas in Cys·LiF(H2O) n , Li+ and F- work in cooperation and interact with carbonyl oxygen and hydroxyl hydrogen of Cys to form a bidentate type. The neutral and zwitterionic forms are essentially isoenergetic when the water number reaches three in the presence of Li+, whereas this occurs at four water molecules in the presence of LiF. Further research revealed that the interaction between Li+/LiF and Cys was mainly electrostatic, followed by dispersion, and the weakest interaction occurs at the transition from the neutral form to zwitterionic form. Natural population analysis charge analyses show that for Cys·Li+(H2O) n , the positive charge is mostly concentrated on Li+ except for the system containing three water molecules. For Cys·LiF(H2O) n , the positive charge is centered on the LiF unit in the range n = 0-6, and at n = 5, electron transfer from Cys to water occurs. Our study shows that the contribution of anions in zwitterionic state stabilization should be addressed more generally along with cations.
