RESUMO

Giant choledochal cysts are rare, and so little data exist on the best surgical treatment method. We present here, a case of a giant choledochal cyst that was successfully excised by laparoscopic resection. A 37-year-old female presented with right upper abdominal pain and mild jaundice. On examination she had a right upper abdominal mass which on imaging was observed to be a giant choledochal cyst of type IVa, measuring approximately 129 mm × 190 mm. Her blood test results showed abnormal liver function. We successfully performed laparoscopic resection of the cyst, the patient recovered well and was discharged from hospital eight days post-operation without any complications. We wish to share the experience of this rare case and provide some clinical basis for future diagnosis and use of laparoscopic resection in the treatment of giant choledochal cysts.

A high-sensitive photoacoustic spectroscopy (PAS) sensor, which is based on a multi-pass-retro-reflection-enhanced differential Helmholtz photoacoustic cell (DHPAC) and a high power diode laser amplified by erbium-doped fiber amplifier (EDFA), is presented in this work for the first time. In order to improve the interaction length between the light and target gas, the incident light was reflected four times through a multi-pass-retro-reflection-cell constructed by two right-angle prisms. A 1.53 µm distributed feedback (DFB) diode laser was selected to excite photoacoustic signal. Moreover, its power was amplified by an EDFA to 1000 mW to improve the amplitude of photoacoustic signal. Acetylene (C2H2) was chosen as the target analysis to verify the reported sensor performance. Compared to double channel without multiple reflections, the 2f signal of double channel with four reflections was improved by 3.71 times. In addition, when the output optical power of EDFA was 1000 mW, the 2f signal has a 70.57-fold improvement compared with the multi-pass-retro-reflection-cell without EDFA. An Allan deviation analysis was carried out to evaluate the long-term stability of such PAS sensor. When the averaging time was 400 s, the minimum detection limit (MDL) of such PAS sensor was 14 ppb.

In this study, we designed and prepared a trastuzumab-coupled drug delivery system with pH response characteristics using mesoporous zeolitic imidazolate framework-8 (ZIF-8) as the carrier, Trastuzumab@ZIF-8@DOX. As results, the targeted drug delivery system (TDDS) ultimately showed high drug loading and good biocompatibility. The cumulative curve of drug release indicated that the early leakage levels were low under neutral pH conditions. However, under acidic pH conditions, there was an effective enhancement in drug release, indicating the presence of an explicit pH-triggered drug release mechanism. The results indicate that the prepared nanoparticles have the potential to serve as drug delivery systems, as they can release the loaded drug in a controlled manner. The results of cellular uptake tests showed that the uptake of the nanoparticles was greatly enhanced by the internalization mediated by the HER2 antibody. This finding indicates that the prepared nanoparticles can selectively target cancer cells that overexpress HER2. When the doxorubicin dose was 5 µg/ml, the survival rate of SK-BR-3 cells (cancer cells) was 47.75 %, and the survival rate of HaCaT cells (healthy cells) was 75.25 % when co-cultured with both cells. The therapeutic efficacy of Trastuzumab@ZIF-8@DOX was assessed on BALB/c nude mice to validate its potential as an effective drug delivery system for tumor inhibition in vivo. In conclusion, these findings demonstrate the specificity-targeted and pH-responsive nature of this smart drug delivery system, highlighting its promising prospects for efficient and controllable cancer treatment applications.

PURPOSE: This study aimed to evaluate the performance of 18F-MD-PSMA PET/CT in patients previously treated for prostate cancer by either surgery or therapy, but later relapsed biochemically. METHODS: This retrospective study enrolled 213 patients in sequence previously treated for prostate cancer by either surgery or therapy, but later PSA relapsed. A total of 191 of these 213 patients were included in this analysis. All patients were biochemically relapsed after radical prostatectomy or therapy, had 18F-MD-PSMA PET/CT scan within 1 week, and were off hormonal therapy at the time of the scans. The new tracer was compared directly with 11C-choline in sensitivity. RESULTS: In 3 patients, a side-by-side comparison between 18F-MD-PSMA and 11C-choline was performed, and it was found that the former was about 3 times more sensitive than the latter. The analysis of PET imaging using 18F-MD-PSMA in 191 relapsed patients showed that less than 10% of patients showed the disease limited in the prostate. Among the remote lesions, the number in decreasing order was bone, followed by lymph nodes and other organs. The maximal SUV in lesions in each patient followed an exponential decay, with SUV inclined to the lower end. The Gleason score measured at the diagnosis showed no correlation with the average number of lesions in each patient, the average maximal SUV values among this cohort of patients, and the PSA values measured at the time of PET imaging. The number of lesions observed in each patient has no correlation with the PSA value measured at the time of PET imaging. When PSA value was measured as an independent biomarker at the time of PET imaging, the positivity of PET imaging using 18F-MD-PSMA increased along with an increase in PSA value, but with exceptions where PSMA expression was low or negative. From the PET imaging of this radioligand, the majority of patients showed oligo-metastasis, favoring using local therapy to manage the disease. CONCLUSION: An 18F-MD-PSMA as a radioligand was found to be superior to 11C-choline in the setting of patients with biochemical relapse after previous treatment. Its PET imaging results matched those of established PSMA radioligands, but its chemical structure was found to have added features to conjugate with other functional molecules, such as those with therapeutic properties. This radioligand lays the foundation for our further work.

Non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) is the main cause of cancer-related deaths worldwide, with a low five-year survival rate, posing a serious threat to human health. In recent years, the delivery of antitumor drugs using a nanostructured lipid carrier (NLC) has become a subject of research. This study aimed to develop an apigenin (AP)-loaded nanostructured lipid carrier (AP-NLC) by melt sonication using glyceryl monostearate (GMS), glyceryl triacetate, and poloxamer 188. The optimal prescription of AP-NLC was screened by central composite design response surface methodology (CCD-RSM) based on a single-factor experiment using encapsulation efficiency (EE%) and drug loading (DL%) as response values and then evaluated for its antitumor effects on NCI-H1299 cells. A series of characterization analyses of AP-NLC prepared according to the optimal prescription were carried out using transmission electron microscopy (TEM), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), X-ray diffraction (XRD), and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR). Subsequent screening of the lyophilization protectants revealed that mannitol could better maintain the lyophilization effect. The in vitro hemolysis assay of this formulation indicated that it may be safe for intravenous injection. Moreover, AP-NLC presented a greater ability to inhibit the proliferation, migration, and invasion of NCI-H1299 cells compared to AP. Our results suggest that AP-NLC is a safe and effective nano-delivery vehicle that may have beneficial potential in the treatment of NSCLC.

In this Letter, a differential integrating sphere-based photoacoustic spectroscopy (PAS) gas sensor is proposed for the first time to our knowledge. The differential integrating sphere system consists of two integrating spheres and a tube. Based on differential characteristics, the photoacoustic signal of the designed differential integrating sphere was doubly enhanced and the noise was suppressed. Compared with a single channel integrating sphere, the differential integrating sphere sensing system had a 1.86 times improvement in signal level. An erbium-doped fiber amplifier (EDFA) was adopted to amplify the output of diode laser to enhance the optical excitation. The second harmonic (2f) signal of differential integrating sphere-based acetylene (C2H2) PAS sensor with an amplified 1000 mW optical output power was 104.67 mV, which was 22.80 times improved compared to the sensing system without EDFA. When the integration time was 100 s, the minimum detection limit (MDL) of the differential integrating sphere-based C2H2 PAS sensor was 416.7 ppb. The differential integrating sphere provides a new method, to the best of our knowledge, for the development of PAS sensor, which has the advantages of photoacoustic signal enhancement, strong noise immunity, and no need for optical adjustment.

The fiber structures of tumor microenvironment (TME) are well-known in regulating tumor cell behaviors, and the plastic remolding of TME has recently been suggested to enhance tumor metastasis as well. However, the interrelationship between the fiber microarchitecture and matrix plasticity is inextricable by existing in vitro models. The individual roles of fiber microarchitecture and matrix plasticity in tuning tumor cell behaviors remain elusive. This study develops an interpenetrating collagen-alginate hydrogel platform with independently tunable matrix plasticity and fiber microarchitecture through an interpenetrating strategy of alginate networks and collagen I networks. With this hydrogel platform, it is demonstrated that tumor cells in high plasticity hydrogels are more extensive and aggressive than in low plasticity hydrogels and fiber structures only have influence in high plasticity hydrogels. The study further elucidates the underlying mechanisms through analyzing the distribution of forces within the matrix and tracking the focal adhesions (FAs) and finds that highly plastic hydrogels can activate the FAs formation, whereas the maturation and stability of FAs are dominated by fiber dispersion. This study not only establishes new ideas on how cells interact with TME cues but also would help to further finely tailor engineered hydrogel platforms for studying tumor behaviors in vitro.

Background: Takotsubo syndrome (TTS) is a multifactorial disease contributed to by several pathological factors. It is characterized by transient left ventricular dysfunction, and patients with TTS can spontaneously recover within days or weeks. This study's objective was to investigate the ultrasonic characteristics of TTS during different periods and assess the clinical application value of real-time 3-dimensional echocardiography (RT-3DE) and speckle tracking imaging (STI) in TTS. Methods: In this prospective cohort study, the patients with apical TTS were evaluated by echocardiography on admission (within 1-3 days) and after 4 and 8 weeks. RT-3DE was performed to observe the structure and function of the left ventricle (LV). LV end-diastolic volume (LVEDV), end-systolic volume (LVESV), stroke volume (LVSV), and ejection fraction (LVEF) were calculated. The longitudinal peak systolic strain (LPSS) of all LV myocardial segments was acquired by 2D STI. For comparison, 20 healthy individuals were included as normal controls. Results: A total of 16 patients with TTS were included. Their LV was characterized as an "octopus pot" in morphology with obvious hypokinesis on admission. The LVEDV, LVESV, LVSV, and LVEF were 84.23±10.67, 55.94±8.51, 28.31±8.06 mL, and 33.59%±4.12%, respectively, in patients with TTS on admission with a significant difference from those of the controls (P=0.005, P<0.001, P<0.001, and P<0.001, respectively). A definite improvement was found upon follow-up, with these parameters even returning to normal morphology after 8 weeks. The LVEDV, LVESV, LVSV, and LVEF were 75.79±6.86, 28.05±4.33, 47.81±3.57 mL, and 63.02%±3.92%, respectively, in TTS patients after 8 weeks with no significant difference from those of the controls (P=0.907, P=0.235, P=0.162, and P=0.052, respectively). A significant decrease in LPSS was also found in patients with TTS on admission. In the eighth week of follow-up, the LPSS of the apical and middle segments in TTS patients remained significantly decreased compared with that of the normal controls (-18.54%±4.69% vs. -24.29%±3.46%, P<0.001; -19.38%±2.88% vs. -22.36%±3.23%, P<0.001), but that of the basal segments in TTS patients returned to normal and there was no significant differences from the normal controls (-20.75%±2.91% vs. -21.51%±2.85%; P=0.055). Conclusions: RT-3DE and STI played an indispensable role in visually and quantitatively inspecting the abnormalities of patients with TTS, including in diagnosis and follow-up.

BACKGROUND: Spatial chromatin structure is intricately linked with somatic aberrations, and somatic mutations of various cancer-related genes, termed co-mutations (CoMuts), occur in certain patterns during cancer initiation and progression. The functional mechanisms underlying these genetic events remain largely unclear in thyroid cancer (TC). With discrepant differentiation, papillary thyroid cancer (PTC) and anaplastic thyroid cancer (ATC) differ greatly in characteristics and prognosis. We aimed to reveal the spatial gene alterations and regulations between the two TC subtypes. METHODS: We systematically investigated and compared the spatial co-mutations between ATC (8305C), PTC (BCPAP and TPC-1), and normal thyroid cells (Nthy-ori-3-1). We constructed a framework integrating whole-genome sequencing (WGS), high-throughput chromosome conformation capture (Hi-C), and transcriptome sequencing, to systematically detect the associations between the somatic co-mutations of cancer-related genes, structural variations (SVs), copy number variations (CNVs), and high-order chromatin conformation. RESULTS: Spatial co-mutation hotspots were enriched around topologically associating domains (TADs) in TC. A common set of 227 boundaries were identified in both ATC and PTC, with significant overlaps between them. The spatial proximities of the co-mutated gene pairs in the two TC types were significantly greater than in the gene-level and overall backgrounds, and ATC cells had higher TAD contact frequency with CoMuts > 10 compared with PTC cells. Compared with normal thyroid cells, in ATC the number of the created novel three-dimensional chromatin structural domains increased by 10%, and the number of shifted TADs decreased by 7%. We found five TAD blocks with CoMut genes/events specific to ATC with certain mutations in genes including MAST-NSUN4, AM129B/TRUB2, COL5A1/PPP1R26, PPP1R26/GPSM1/CCDC183, and PRAC2/DLX4. For the majority of ATC and PTC cells, the HOXA10 and HIF2α signals close to the transcription start sites of CoMut genes within TADs were significantly stronger than those at the background. CNV breakpoints significantly overlapped with TAD boundaries in both TC subtypes. ATCs had more CNV losses overlapping with TAD boundaries, and noncoding SVs involved in intrachromosomal SVs, amplified inversions, and tandem duplication differed between ATC and PTC. TADs with short range were more abundant in ATC than PTC. More switches of A/B compartment types existed in ATC cells compared with PTC. Gene expression was significantly synchronized, and orchestrated by complex epigenetics and regulatory elements. CONCLUSION: Chromatin interactions and gene alterations and regulations are largely heterogeneous in TC. CNVs and complex SVs may function in the TC genome by interplaying with TADs, and are largely different between ATC and PTC. Complexity of TC genomes, which are highly organized by 3D genome-wide interactions mediating mutational and structural variations and gene activation, may have been largely underappreciated. Our comprehensive analysis may provide key evidence and targets for more customized diagnosis and treatment of TC.

Transition metal phosphide alloying is an effective approach for optimizing the electronic structure and improving the intrinsic performance of the hydrogen evolution reaction (HER). However, obtaining 3d transition metal phosphides alloyed with noble metals is still a challenge owing to their difference in electronegativity, and the influence of their electronic structure modulated by noble metals on the HER reaction also remains unclear. In this study, we successfully incorporated Ru into an Fe2P single crystal via the Bridgeman method and used it as a model catalyst, which effectively promoted HER. Hall transport measurements combined with first-principles calculations revealed that Ru acted as an electron dopant in the structure and increased the Fermi level, leading to a decreased water dissociation barrier and an improved electron-transfer Volmer step at low overpotentials. Additionally, the (21̅1) facet of Ru-Fe2P was found to be more active than its (001) facet, mainly due to the lower H desorption barrier at high overpotentials. The synergistic effect of Ru and Fe sites was also revealed to facilitate H* and OH* desorption compared with Fe2P. Therefore, this study elucidates the boosting effect of Ru-alloyed iron phosphides and offers new understanding about the relationship between their electronic structure and HER performance.

In this paper, a hollow-core anti-resonant fiber (HC-ARF) based light-induced thermoelastic spectroscopy (LITES) sensor is reported. A custom-made silica-based HC-ARF with length of 75 cm was used as light medium and gas cell. Compared to a traditional multi-pass cell (MPC), the using of HC-ARF is advantageous for reducing the sensor size and easing the optical alignment. A quartz tuning fork (QTF) with a resonant frequency of 32766.20 Hz and quality factor of 12364.20 was adopted as the thermoelastic detector. Acetylene (C2H2) and carbon monoxide (CO) with absorption lines located at 6534.37 cm-1 (1530.37 nm) and 6380.30 cm-1 (1567.32 nm) were chosen as the target gas to verify such HC-ARF based LITES sensor performance. It was found that this HC-ARF based LITES sensor exhibits excellent linearity response to the analyte concentrations. The minimum detection limit (MDL) for C2H2 and CO detections were measured as 4.75 ppm and 1704 ppm, respectively. The MDL for such HC-ARF based LITES sensor can be further improved by using a HC-ARF with long length or choosing an absorption line with strong strength.

Lung cancer seriously threatens the health of human beings, with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) accounting for 80%. Nowadays, the potential position of nano-delivery in treating cancer has been the subject of continuous research. The present research aimed to prepare two molecular weight hyaluronic acid (HA)-modified kaempferol (KA)-loaded nanostructured lipid carriers (HA-KA-NLCs) by the method of melting ultrasonic and electrostatic adsorption, and to assess the antitumor effect of the preparations on A549 cells. The characterization and safety evaluation of the preparations illustrated that they are acceptable for drug delivery for cancer. Subsequently, differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) curve and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) images indicated that the drug was adequately incorporated in the carrier, and the particle appeared as a sphere. Moreover, HA-KA-NLC showed predominant in vitro antitumor effects, inhibiting proliferation, migration, and invasion, promoting apoptosis and increasing cellular uptake of A549 cells. Otherwise, the Western blot assay revealed that preparations could activate epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT)-related signaling pathways and modulate the expression of E-cadherin, N-cadherin, and Vimentin in A549 cells. Our present findings demonstrated that HA-KA-NLC could be considered as a secure and effective carrier for targeted tumor delivery and may have potential application prospects in future clinic therapy of NSCLC.

Breast cancer is the most common cancer affecting women's health, and its incidence rate is continuously increasing. With the development of immunohistochemistry and gene expression microarray technology, the study on breast cancer has gradually advanced, contributing to the development of targeted therapy for breast cancer. At present, the popular breast cancer cell surface markers includeG protein-coupled estrogen receptor 1 (GPER-1), human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER-2), epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR), c-mesenchymal-epithelial transition factor (CMet), folate receptor-α (FRα), integrin, programmed death-ligand 1 (PD-L1), trophoblast cell surface antigen 2 (Trop-2), etc. Targeted drugs for breast cancer cell surface markers mainly include antibody drugs and small molecule inhibitor drugs, which exert anti-tumor activity by targeting receptors or ligands. This review summarizes the surface markers of breast cancer cells and their targeted drugs, hoping to provide new ideas for breast cancer targeted therapy.

Recent outbreaks of coronavirus have brought serious challenges to public health around the world, and it is essential to find effective treatments. In this study, the 3C-like proteinase (3CLpro) of SARS-CoV-2 (severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2) has been considered as an important drug target because of its role in viral replication. We initially optimized 251 compounds at the PM7 level of theory for docking with 3CLpro, and then we selected the top 12 compounds for further optimization with the B3LYP-D3/6-311G** method and obtained the top four compounds by further molecular docking. Quantum chemistry calculations were performed to predict molecular properties, such as the electrostatic potential and some CDFT descriptors. We also performed molecular dynamics simulations and free energy calculations to determine the relative stability of the selected four potential compounds. We have identified key residues controlling the 3CLpro/ligand binding from per-residue based decomposition of the binding free energy. Convincingly, the comprehensive results support the conclusion that the compounds have the potential to become a candidate for anti-coronavirus treatment.

For this invited manuscript, an in-plane single-quartz-enhanced dual spectroscopy (IP-SQEDS)-based trace gas sensor was demonstrated for the first time. A single quartz tuning fork (QTF) was employed to combine in-plane quartz-enhanced photoacoustic spectroscopy (IP-QEPAS) with light-induced thermoelastic spectroscopy (LITES) techniques. Water vapor (H2O) was chosen as the target gas. Compared to traditional QEPAS, IP-SQEDS not only allowed for simple structures, but also obtained nearly three times signal amplitude enhancement.

Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs had been proven that it could improve cognitive impairment in large dose but with more side effect, which limited the application. The main objective of this study was to investigate whether the combined use of nicotine and celecoxib could obtain synergistic neuroprotective effect in ischemic rats. METHODS: Twenty adult Sprague-Dawley (SD) rats underwent ischemic model surgery by injecting endothelin-1 into the left thalamus, which were classified into four groups with different interventions: nicotine (1.5 mg/kg/d), celecoxib (15 mg/kg/d), nicotine (1.5 mg/kg/d) +celecoxib (15 mg/kg/d), or saline after surgery. The other five SD rats also underwent same surgery by injecting saline instead of endothelin-1, as the control group. Morris water maze (MWM) test was adopted to assess the cognition. Micro PET/CT with 2-[18F]-A-85380 were performed for α4ß2-nAChRs detection in vivo. Western blot, real-time PCR and immunohistochemical staining were adopted to detect the expression of α4ß2-nAChRs and inflammatory factors which included TNF-α, IL-1ß, IL-6 in brain tissue. Microglial activation in the brain was monitored by immunofluorescence with IBA1 staining. RESULTS: The MWM test showed rats given with nicotine or celecoxib alone showed much better memory than rats with saline, no difference was observed between nicotine and celecoxib. The rat memory was recovered most significant when the nicotine and celecoxib were combined (p < 0.05). Micro-PET/CT showed much more tracer uptake in the left thalamus and whole brain in rats given with nicotine, or nicotine + celecoxib (nico + cele group) than saline treated rats, whereas the rats given celecoxib did not. Compared with saline treated rats, we found the proteins of α4nAChR and ß2nAChR in rats given nicotine or nico + cele increased significantly, and mRNA/proteins of TNF-α, IL-1ß and IL-6 decreased at the same time. The α 4nAChR and ß 2nAChR proteins in rats given celecoxib is the same as saline treated rats, whereas the inflammatory factors decreased obviously compared with saline treated rats. Microglial activation was confirmed in saline treated rats, which was inhibited in rats give nicotine, celecoxib or both. CONCLUSIONS: The study revealed the combined use of nicotine and celecoxib may improve the cognitive function in ischemic rats, with a better effect than either alone. Both nicotine and celecoxib can inhibit inflammation, but through different mechanisms: nicotine can activate α4ß2-nAChRs while celecoxib is cyclooxygenase-2 inhibitor. Our findings suggest the combined application of two drugs with different anti-inflammation mechanism could attenuate cognitive impairment more effectively in ischemic rats, which may hold therapeutic potential in the clinical practice.

BACKGROUND: Coronary artery disease, fatty liver disease, cardiac abnormalities, the metabolic syndrome, and insulin resistance may all occur in association with an increase of epicardial adipose tissue volume (EATV). Previous studies have shown that some cardiovascular-risk factors and healthy behaviors were related to a lower risk of EATV increase. The main purpose of this study was to determine whether ideal cardiovascular health (CVH) metrics were correlated with the prevalence of high EATV. METHODS: The study commenced across 2013 and 2014 and involved volunteers from the Jidong (East Hebei) district. A cohort of 2,482 participants aged 45 years or older were randomly selected, of which 49.9% were women and none were diagnosed as having cancer, stroke, or heart diseases such as atrial fibrillation, heart failure, or myocardial infarction. The study collected information concerning seven CVH metrics; namely body mass index, dietary intake, smoking, blood pressure, physical activity, total cholesterol, and fasting blood glucose, and evaluated EATV based on computed tomography. Finally, an analysis of the relationship between ideal CVH metrics and the prevalence of high EATV was made applying multiple logistic regression. RESULTS: On the basis that age, gender, and other potential confounding factors are adjusted, comparing the participants having an ideal CVH index of 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6-7 with those having a 0-1 metric, the adjusted odds ratios (95% confidence interval) of high EATV were as follows: 0.893 (0.468-1.705), 0.581 (0.316-1.069), 0.368 (0.202-0.670), 0.218 (0.119-0.400), and 0.161 (0.085-0.306) (P trend less than 0.0001). Similar negative correlations were also seen in other cases of different age groups and gender groups, where all P trends were less than 0.0001. CONCLUSIONS: The number of ideal CVH metrics in the northern Chinese population is negatively correlated with the prevalence of high EATV, supporting the greater use of EATV as a useful parameter in clinical practice.

A single-quartz-enhanced dual spectroscopy (S-QEDS)-based trace gas sensor is reported for the first time, to the best of our knowledge. In S-QEDS, a quartz tuning fork (QTF) was utilized to detect the photoacoustic and photothermal signals simultaneously and added the two signals together. The S-QEDS technique not only improved the detection performance but also avoided the issue of resonant frequency mismatching of QTFs for the multi-QTFs-based sensor systems. Water vapor (${\rm H}_2{\rm O}$) was selected as the target gas to investigate the S-QEDS sensor performance. The photoacoustic, photothermal, and composited signals were measured, respectively, under the same conditions. The experimental results verified the ideal adding of the photoacoustic and photothermal signals by using a single QTF in this S-QEDS sensor system.

A trace gas detection technique of quartz-enhanced photoacoustic-photothermal spectroscopy (QEPA-PTS) is demonstrated. Different from quartz-enhanced photoacoustic spectroscopy (QEPAS) or quartz-enhanced photothermal spectroscopy (QEPTS), which detected only one single kind of signal, QEPA-PTS was realized by adding the photoacoustic and photothermal signals generated from two quartz tuning forks (QTFs), respectively. Water vapor (H2O) with a volume concentration of 1.01% was selected as the analyte gas to investigate the QEPA-PTS sensor performance. Compared to QEPAS and QEPTS, an enhanced signal level was achieved for this QEPA-PTS system. Further improvement of such a technique was proposed.
