RESUMO

The prevalence and severity of manifestations of non-allergic hypersensitivity to chemical environmental factors pose the question about the need to study the mechanisms of its formation in population. It should be borne in mind that, in the absence of immunological mechanisms of formation of the mentioned state, the term "chemical sensitization" must be replaced by the term "non-allergic hypersensitivity." The investigation of this problem should permit to reduce the risk of formation of different types of hypersensitivity in population.

RESUMO

UNLABELLED: Numerous studies have shown that Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) is a leading etiologic factor in the development of chronic atrophic gastritis, one gastric ulcer and duodenal ulcer and gastric cancer. Effective prevention of gastroduodenal pathology requires the right information about its prevalence in the population and risk factors. The most reliable information can be obtained during medical examination of the able-bodied population, which provides in-depth clinical examination of contingents with the identification of asymptomatic pathology, detection of risk groups, the substantiation ofprophylactic measures and tracking their efficacy. MATERIAL AND METHODS: During the clinical examination of the manufacturing contingents there was performed a study of the presence of infection Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) in 2414 people aged 19 to 74 years. For more details on the presence of gastroduodenal pathology 991 people were examined with the use of clinical methods and interviews. The aggregation of information presented in the form of estimates for its geocoding and mapping has been made. Cluster analysis was performed. RESULTS: H. pylori infection was diagnosed in 2,182 people accounting for 90.4% out of 2414 examined cases. Infections occurred equally in males--91.7% and females--89.6%. The risk of development of gastroduodenal pathology in individuals infected with H. pylori is 4.4 times greater than the risk in seronegative individuals (95%, confidence interval 1.9-6.4). Cluster analysis revealed a statistically significant clusters for the strata with a prevalence of 100% (X2 = 45.5204) and below 50% of infection rate (X2 = 7.36). It is in prospect to analyze in more detail the data relating to these areas in order to identify the factors contributing to the different degree of infection rate of residents, including the assessment of drinking water.

RESUMO

In the article results of researches of influence of food supplement allocated of a guelder-rose (Viburnum sargentii Koehne) on structural and physiological characteristics of erythrocytes are presented to blood of the doctors-surgeons who are exposed during of the working day to complex stressful influence (psychologic-emotional, chemical, intensity of labour process, etc). It is shown that preventive application a polyphenolic complex from a guelder-rose promoted restoration of average volume and diameter of erythrocytes, normalization of a parity of quantitative structure of neutral lipids and phospholipids, to preservation of permeability of membranes. The food supplement allocated of a guelder-rose can be used in a treatment and prophylactic feed.

RESUMO

There is opinion in the literature as to that liver trematode infections, such as opisthorchiasis, clonorchiasis, fascioliasis, and metorchiasis, can induce cancer of the liver pancreas, intestine - this all is clinically observed. The authors were the first in world practice to show the development of a hepatic blastomatous process in animals (albino rats, cats) with opisthorchiasis in 13%; cancer developed in 28 and 56% with the use of a hepatotropic carcinogen and combined (opisthorchiasis + a carcinogen) exposure, respectively. Throughout his life, a human being can easily catch these trematodes that have carcinogenic activity and these diseases concurrent with household and food carcinogens can give rise to tumors in the liver pancreas and intestine. Timely diagnosis and specific anthelmintic therapy are necessary to prevent parasitic cancer.

RESUMO

Experimental studies were conducted on 4 groups of 10 rats each: 1) intact animals (a control group); 2) inhalation of carbon disulfide at a concentration of 2.0 mg/m3 for 7 days; 3) prophylactic administration of the hepatoprotective agent Legalon (100 mg/kg of total polyphenols), followed by carbon disulfide inhalation for 7 days; 4) prophylactic administration of the biologically active additive Kalifen (100 mg/kg of total polyphenols for 7 days), followed by carbon disulfide inhalation. Animal survival after carbon disulfide inhalation was 80%; preadministration of Legalon or Kalifen increased survival up to 100%. Carbon disulfide inhalation was attended by abnormal size features of red blood cells, impairments in the antioxidant defense system and the ratio of phospholipid fractions to neutral lipids. Preadministration of Legalon or Kalifen before inhalation contributes to less abnormalities in the study physiological and biochemical parameters of erythrocyte membranes.

RESUMO

The aim of the investigation was to use the biologically active additive (BAD) Kalifen to prevent metabolic disturbances in medical workers during their occupational activity. Female physicians aged 40-50 years were examined. Group 1 (control) included 20 age-matched healthy female donors. Group 2 comprised 27 female physicians (anesthesiologists and surgeons) daily exposed to stresses (chemical, psychoemotional, work-related, etc.) who were asked after blood biochemical tests to daily take the BAD Kalifen in a dose of 2.5 ml after a meal (they made up Group 3), which is equal to the daily prophylactic dose in 100 mg of total polyphenols. The plasma tested before an experiment showed hypertriglyceridemia and hypercholesterolemia, suppressed hepatic etherifying function, imbalance of the fractional content of phospholipids, exhaustion of the antioxidative system, increased lipid peroxidation, and impaired erythrocytic membrane permeability. The prophylactic use of the BAD Kalifen eliminates stress-induced metabolic disturbances and increases occupational and biological longevity in the able-bodied population.

RESUMO

The study was undertaken to use the biologically active additive (BAA) Kalifen as a component of the jellies BIO-LAD for students' adaptation to academic load. Two groups of male volunteers aged 20-22 years were examined. Group 1 (control) included 20 healthy male donors of the comparable age. Group 2 comprised 10 students who were asked to take 100 mg of the jellies containing the BAA Kalifen (TU 9128-152-02067936-2006), which was equivalent to 100 mg of total polyphenols a day, on fasting every day after biochemical blood studies. The serum tested before the experiment showed hypertriglyceridemia and hypercholesterolemia, suppressed hepatic etherifying function and imbalance of the fractional content of phospholipids. Exhaustion of the antioxidative system, increased lipid peroxidation, and impaired erythrocytic membrane permeability were also ascertained. Supplementation of the jellies normalized the biochemical parameters under study. From the above discussion, it follows that the jellies BIO-LAD should be used as a purposefully acting product to prevent mental and emotional stress.

RESUMO

Two groups of male volunteers aged 35-45 years were examined. Group 1 comprised 20 healthy donors controls) and Group 2 included 10 operating pilots whom after biochemical blood analysis were proposed to use daily the biologically active supplement (BAS) Kalifen, 5 ml (which was equal to 100 mg/day of total polyphenols) after meals in the morning for 4 weeks. Before the use of the supplement, the sera of the examinees provided evidence that they had hypertriglyceridemia and hypercholesterolemia, inhibited hepatic etherifying function, unbalanced phospholipid composition, depleted antioxidative system, enhanced lipid peroxidation, and increased erythrocytic membrane permeability. The combined influence of the working environment on the operating pilots's health status appeared as pronounced metabolic changes characteristic of those observed under physical and emotional stress. The use of Kalifen facilitated normalization of the studied biochemical parameters. From the afore-said, it is advisable to use BAS for the prevention of stress actions caused by a variety of physical and emotional agents.

RESUMO

An oligomer proantocyanidine complex (OPCC) isolated from the aqueous-and-alcoholic extract Kalifen and a polyphenol complex (PPC) isolated from the eleutherococcus extract were tested for their effects on carbohydrate and lipid metabolism in the rat liver under acute stress caused by hanging up of the animals by the cervical fold for 22 hours. This acute stress was accompanied by decreases in aerobic glycolysis and pentose cycle and by an increase in lipolysis. Hepatic etherifying function impaired. Lipids became predominant energy substrates. The administration of OPCC and PPC during stress promoted the preservation of carbohydrate metabolic reactions (gluconeogenesis, pentosephosphate pathway, Krebs cycle) and to the decrease of lipolysis. OPCC was shown to have stress-protective properties and to be able to diminish adrenal hypertrophy, to increase the production of oxidized equivalents (NAD+), and to enhance the activity of G-6-PDH in the rat liver. The complex is superior to the well-known antistress agent eleutherococcus, which makes it possible to regard these drugs as possible promising drugs in preventive and rehabilitative medicine.

RESUMO

The role played by active oxygen forms in damaging the human genome by environmental factors as well as the application of antioxidants to keep the oncology statistics among the hazardous-area residents low are under discussion. According to the independent results, there are essential differences between mechanisms of inflicting a genetic lesion to healthy subjects and to individuals of the risk categories due to that the latter have contacts with high concentrations of chemical compounds and with clinical patients with developed free-radical pathologies.

RESUMO

The authors made an experimental study of the efficiency of water purification procedures based on the combined use of active chlorine and coagulants and hygienically evaluated the procedures. The study included the evaluation of water disinfection with various coagulants and active chlorine; the investigation of the processes of production of deleterious organic chlorine compounds; the assessment of the quality of water after its treatment. The coagulants representing aluminum polyoxychloride: RAX-10 (AQUA-AURATE 10) and RAX-18 (AQUA-AURATE 18), and aluminum sulfate, technically pure grade were tested. The treatment of river water with the coagulants RAX-10 and RAX-18, followed by precipitation, filtration, and chlorination under laboratory conditions, was shown to result in water disinfection to the levels complying with the requirements described in SanPiN 2.1.4.1074-01. RAX-18 showed the best disinfecting activity against total and heat-tolerant coliform bacteria, but also to the highly chlorine-resistant microrganisms--the spores of sulfite-reducing Clostridia, phages, and viruses. Since the coagulants have an increased sorptive capacity relative to humus and other organic substances, substitution of primary chlorination for coagulant treatment may induce a reduction in the risk of formation of oncogenically and mutagenically hazardous chlorinated hydrocarbons.

RESUMO

The comparative study was carried out to estimate hepatoprotective activity of the preparation "Eklikit", that represents the extract from the Shizandra chinensis crests and reference hepatoprpotector "Legalon" under acute alcohol intoxication. It was found that "Eklikit" posseses membrane protective and expressed hepatoprotective activity. "Eklikit" exceeds the reference hepatorpotector, "Legalon", in its ability to increase the oxidized form of NAD+ and reduced glutatione, cholesterol ethers and reduce the time of thiopental sleep. In other cases "Eklikit" was equally effective to "Legalon".

RESUMO

The article deals with the scientific as well as ecological-and-hygienic foundations of shaping the dwelling environment; it focuses on the real, total loads of the chemical, physical and biological factors experienced by the man under the conditions of the urban residential environment in Moscow. The risk factors, which are present in the residential environment, are investigated alongside with positive factors. A concept of the social-and-hygienic monitoring, which is to be a scientific basis for working out a comprehensive program of the optimization of the population habitation conditions and of ensuring the healthy life mode, is offered. This makes it possible to promote the preventive and current sanitary supervision over the structure and maintenance of living quarters and to ensure a new qualitative level for such supervision involving a quantitative assessment of the whole range of both positive and negative factors of the habitant environment; it is important for determining the housing quality and its safety for the population health.

RESUMO

The effects of Diprim, a natural polyphenol complex isolated from Amur grapes crest, on lipid metabolism, lipid peroxidation (LPO), and antioxidative system of the liver were studied in ethanol-treated rats. Diprim injected to animals during ethanol abstinence arrested stress and thus inhibited lipolysis in fatty tissue and prevented triglyceride accumulation in the liver. Ethanol-suppressed metabolic reactions of the liver concerned with the synthesis of phospholipid fractions (phosphatidylcholine, phosphatidylethanolamine, and phosphatidylserine) were restored. Diprim promoted inhibition of LPO processes (the level of malonic dialdehyde decreased) and a pronounced glutathione-saving effect, which is largely due to its components--polyphenols which capture free radicals.

RESUMO

The authors' experience with intraoperative radiotherapy (IORT) in 129 patients with a tumorous process at various sites has demonstrated that in most clinical events, single radiation doses of 10-20 Gy is insufficient to have a persistent local effect and requires additional pre- or postoperative remote irradiation. The use of IORT as a single component of radiation exposure does not lead to significant radiation damages to normal tissues. When IORT is combined with remote irradiation (the latter using doses of 30-60 Gy), 30% of patients develop radiation-induced normal tissue lesions. In the context of enhancing the local effect and, if possible, decreasing the dose of remote irradiation, it is expedient to increase IORT doses, which is in turn fraught with higher incidence and severity of radiation lesions. In this connection, it seems urgent to have a look for the potentialities to expand the radiotherapeutical range. This follows several directions.
