[Three independent melanomas over a span of 2 years in a 31-year-old man-a case report]. / Drei unabhängige Melanome bei einem 31-jährigen Patienten innerhalb von 2 Jahren ­ ein Fallbericht.

We present the case of a 31-year-old soldier who developed three independent melanomas in only 2 years. We saw two mucosal melanomas and one nodular melanoma of the scalp. The last one led to a cerebral metastasis during the course of the follow-up. After complete resection and under ongoing immunotherapy with nivolumab, there was no progression of disease until December 2019. The Karnofsky index remained at 100% and there were no side effects of therapy. Besides fair skin type, no other risk factors for the development of melanomas were identified, even after performing genetic analysis.

Extensive bony metastases from facial metatypical basal cell carcinoma: a case report.

Metastatic basal cell carcinoma (BCC) is rare. We treated a 44-year-old woman with an extended facial metatypical BCC in whom staging showed no local or distant metastases, but one year after resection, we diagnosed a local recurrence. Re-staging, using a fludeoxyglucose positron emission tomography-computed tomogram, (FDG PET-CT) showed suspected accumulations of FDG in the whole axial skeleton. Bone punch biopsy examination confirmed extensive bony metastases, and after resection of the relapse, we began her on a systemic treatment with a Hedgehog-pathway inhibitor (vismodegib), which resulted in partial remission.

BACKGROUND: Cutaneous Rosai-Dorfman disease is a rare disorder belonging to the spectrum of non-Langerhans cell histiocytoses. It is characterized by dermal and subcutaneous infiltrates of histiocytes as well as accompanying lymphocytes, plasma cells and granulocytes. Because it is so rare, standard therapies have not been established. CASE REPORT: A 27-year-old man showed an excellent response to intralesional corticosteroids after unsuccessful prior treatment with methotrexate, systemic steroids and surgery as well as laser therapy.

Precancerous skin lesions and carcinomas in situ of the skin represent the early stages of epithelial skin tumors. There is no invasive tumor growth, so the basement membrane is completely intact. These lesions show a wide variation of clinical and histological appearances on the skin or mucosa. The precancerous and carcinoma in situ lesions that are described in this text are actinic keratosis, actinic cheilitis, cutaneous horns, arsenical keratosis, tar-induced dermatosis, X-ray irradiation-related keratosis, Bowen's disease, erythroplasia of Queyrat, bowenoid papulosis, intraepithelial neoplasia (vulvar, penile and anal). Because they all can progress into invasive carcinoma, therapy is mandatory. Many noninvasive therapeutic approaches exist nowadays in the form of gels, creams, photodynamic therapy and invasive techniques such as laser therapy and cryotherapy, curettage and excision of lesional skin. Depending on the treatment process, different rates of general clearance and recurrence of the lesions are discussed in this article.
