This epidemiologic descriptive study was elaborated to determine wether there is relation between the beginning of the psychosis maniac-depressive (PMD) crisis and a specific moment in the chronology of the mestrual cicle. There are diverse etiologic factors mentioned in the PMD: genetic, pharmacological, biochemical, neuroendocrinological, etc. Different studies have shown significative association between Major Depression and low plasmatic levels of the lutheinic hormone (LH). Point in which we base our study. The universal sample was formed from 40 patients of the psychiatry clinics of La Paz, Montserat and Perpetuo Socorro. Patients, which should have by requirement suffered at least one episode of PMD, diagnosed by DSM III and in fertile age. They resolved a six item cuestionary, specially designed by the investigative group. We obtained as a result that women between 25 and 34 years of age, presented in the episodes of PMD a prevalence in the maniac syntoms over the depressive syntoms. As a final conclusion, it exists chronologic relation between the beginning of the crisis and the late lutheic phase
