To study the effect of the inert gas mixture concentration and ratio on the spontaneous combustion reaction of gas coal, a combination of experimental research and theoretical analysis was used to study the pyrolysis and combustion kinetics characteristics of gas coal and further explore the influence of inert gas on the inerting characteristics of gas coal. Research has shown that during the entire heating reaction process of gas coal, the concentration of inert gases has little effect on the drying and desorption stages, but there is a significant lag phenomenon in the characteristic temperature points of active decomposition and degassing stages. Under the same concentration of mixed inert gases, the higher the relative percentage content of CO2, the more significant the change and the better the inhibitory effect. The higher the volume fraction of the inert gas, the higher the cross-temperature point. In the late stage of rapid heating of coal samples, when the volume fraction of inert gas is 40%, the rate of temperature rise increases rapidly. In a pure air environment, CO begins to be released at 80 °C, and when the temperature rises to 130 ∼ 140 °C, the concentration of CO begins to rapidly increase. Under inert conditions, the higher the relative percentage content of inert gas is, the higher the temperature point at which CO is generated. When the experimental conditions are a mixture of 30% N2 and 10% CO2 as inert gas, the optimal inerting effect has been achieved. The research results provide a theoretical basis for determining the optimal ratio of inert gas inerting concentrations to achieve fire prevention and extinguishing.

Circulating tumor cells (CTCs) detection presents significant advantages in diagnosing liver cancer due to its noninvasiveness, real-time monitoring, and dynamic tracking. However, the clinical application of CTCs-based diagnosis is largely limited by the challenges of capturing low-abundance CTCs within a complex blood environment while ensuring them alive. Here, an ultrastrong ligand, l-histidine-l-histidine (HH), specifically targeting sialylated glycans on the surface of CTCs, is designed. Furthermore, HH is integrated into a cell-imprinted polymer, constructing a hydrogel with precise CTCs imprinting, high elasticity, satisfactory blood compatibility, and robust anti-interference capacities. These features endow the hydrogel with excellent capture efficiency (>95%) for CTCs in peripheral blood, as well as the ability to release CTCs controllably and alive. Clinical tests substantiate the accurate differentiation between liver cancer, cirrhosis, and healthy groups using this method. The remarkable diagnostic accuracy (94%), lossless release of CTCs, material reversibility, and cost-effectiveness ($6.68 per sample) make the HH-based hydrogel a potentially revolutionary technology for liver cancer diagnosis and single-cell analysis.

Background: Serine proteinase inhibitors, clade B, member 3 (SerpinB3) and B4 are highly similar in amino acid sequences and associated with inflammation regulation. We investigated SerpinB3 and B4 expression and their roles in chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps (CRSwNP). Methods: The expression of SerpinB3 and B4 in nasal mucosa tissues, brush cells, and secretions from CRSwNP patients was measured, and their regulation by inflammatory cytokines were investigated. Their functions were also analyzed using air-liquid interface (ALI)-cultured primary human nasal epithelial cells (HNECs) and transcriptomic analysis. Results: Both SerpinB3 and B4 expression was higher in nasal mucosa, brush cells, and secretions from eosinophilic (E) CRSwNP and nonECRSwNP patients than in healthy controls. Immunofluorescence staining indicated that SerpinB3 and B4 were primarily expressed in epithelial cells and their expression was higher in CRSwNP patients. SerpinB3 and B4 expression was upregulated by interleukin-4 (IL-4), IL-5, IL-6, and IL-17a. Transcriptomic analysis identified differentially expressed genes (DEGs) in response to recombinant SerpinB3 and B4 stimulation. Both the DEGs of SerpinB3 and B4 were associated with disease genes of nasal polyps and inflammation in DisGeNET database. Pathway enrichment indicated that downregulated DEGs of SerpinB3 and B4 were both enriched in cytokine-cytokine receptor interactions, with CXCL8 as the hub gene in the protein-protein interaction networks. Furthermore, CXCL8/IL-8 expression was downregulated by recombinant SerpinB3 and B4 protein in ALI-cultured HNECs, and upregulated when knockdown of SerpinB3/B4. Conclusion: SerpinB3/B4 expression is upregulated in nasal mucosa of CRSwNP patients. SerpinB3/B4 may play an anti-inflammatory role in CRSwNP by inhibiting the expression of epithelial cell-derived CXCL8/IL-8.

Cerebral infarction (CI) is one of the leading causes of disability and death. LncRNAs are key factors in CI progression. Herein, we studied the function of long noncoding RNA KCNQ1OT1 in CI patient plasma samples and in CI models. Quantitative real-time PCR and Western blotting tested gene and protein expressions. The interactions of KCNQ1OT1/PTBP1 and miR-16-5p were analyzed using dual-luciferase reporter and RNA immunoprecipitation assays; MTT assays measured cell viability. Cell migration and angiogenesis were tested by wound healing and tube formation assays. Pathological changes were analyzed by triphenyltetrazolium chloride and routine staining. We found that KCNQ1OT1 and PTBP1 were overexpressed and miR-16-5p was downregulated in CI patient plasma and in oxygen-glucose deprived (OGD) induced mouse brain microvascular endothelial (bEnd.3) cells. KCNQ1OT1 knockdown suppressed pro-inflammatory cytokine production and stimulated angiogenic responses in OGD-bEnd.3 cells. KCNQ1OT1 upregulated PTBP1 by sponging miR-16-5p. PTBP1 overexpression or miR-16-5p inhibition attenuated the effects of KCNQ1OT1 knockdown. PTBP1 silencing protected against OGD-bEnd.3 cell injury by enhancing SIRT1. KCNQ1OT1 silencing or miR-16-5p overexpression also alleviated ischemic injury in a mice middle cerebral artery occlusion model. Thus, KCNQ1OT1 silencing alleviates CI by regulating the miR-16-5p/PTBP1/SIRT1 pathway, providing a theoretical basis for novel therapeutic strategies targeting CI.

BACKGROUND: To date, an effective means to preoperatively predict the malignant transformation of sinonasal inverted papilloma (SIP) remains lacking due to similarities in clinical appearance. This study aimed to retrospectively evaluate dynamic contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging (DCE-MRI) parameters and microvessel structure in tumors with histologically confirmed SIP and inverted papilloma-associated squamous cell carcinoma (IP-SCC), as well as correlate DCE-MRI findings with angiogenesis biomarkers. METHODS: Absolute quantitative DCE-MRI parameters (Ktrans , Kep , Ve ) based on the Tofts model and model-free semi-quantitative indices (Tpeak , WR, MaxSlope) of SIP (n = 22) and IP-SCC (n = 20) were investigated. Regions of interest (ROIs) were oriented according to the tumor subsites in the surgical records. Micro-vessel density (MVD) counts and tight junction protein (claudin-5) expression were evaluated in tumor specimens obtained during surgery. Differences in the above data were compared between the two groups. Correlations between DCE-MRI parameters and angiogenic biomarkers were analyzed. RESULTS: Compared with SIP specimens, IP-SCC specimens were characterized by a significantly higher MVD and a leakier microvessel barrier. The values of Tpeak and Ve were significantly higher for SIP than those for IP-SCC, whereas WR, MaxSlope, and Kep were significantly lower, indicating early enhancement and a faster dispersion model in IP-SCC. MVD was positively correlated with WR and Kep and negatively correlated with Tpeak . Tpeak was slightly positively correlated to claudin-5 expression. CONCLUSION: DCE-MRI can serve as a noninvasive biomarker of angiogenesis in the malignant transformation from SIP to IP-SCC. DCE-MRI may assist in the differentiation of malignancies and treatment selection.

BACKGROUND: Whether IgE affects eosinophil migration in chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps (CRSwNP) remains largely unclear. Moreover, our understanding of local IgE, eosinophils, and omalizumab efficacy in CRSwNP remains limited. OBJECTIVE: We investigated whether IgE acts directly on eosinophils and determined its role in omalizumab therapy. METHODS: Eosinophils and their surface receptors were detected by hematoxylin and eosin staining and flow cytometry. IgE and its receptors, eosinophil peroxidase (EPX), eosinophilic cationic protein, and CCR3 were detected by immunohistochemistry and immunofluorescence. Functional analyses were performed on blood eosinophils and polyp tissues. Logistic regression was performed to screen for risk factors. Receiver operating characteristic curve was generated to evaluate the accuracy. RESULTS: Both FcεRI and CD23 were expressed on eosinophils. The expression of FcεRI and CD23 on eosinophil in nasal polyp tissue was higher than in peripheral blood (both P < .001). IgE and EPX colocalized in CRSwNP. IgE directly promoted eosinophil migration by upregulating CCR3 in CRSwNP but not in healthy controls. Omalizumab and lumiliximab were found to be effective in restraining this migration, indicating CD23 was involved in IgE-induced eosinophil migration. Both IgE+ and EPX+ cells were significantly reduced after omalizumab treatment in those who experienced response (IgE+ cells, P = .001; EPX+ cells, P = .016) but not in those with no response (IgE+ cells, P = .060; EPX+ cells, P = .151). Baseline IgE+ cell levels were higher in those with response compared to those without response (P = .024). The baseline local IgE+ cell count predicted omalizumab efficacy with an accuracy of 0.811. CONCLUSIONS: IgE directly promotes eosinophil migration, and baseline local IgE+ cell counts are predictive of omalizumab efficacy in CRSwNP.

Balancing kinetics, a crucial priority in catalysis, is frequently achieved by sacrificing activity of elementary steps to suppress side reactions and enhance catalyst stability. Dry reforming of methane (DRM), a process operated at high temperature, usually involves fast C-H activation but sluggish carbon removal, resulting in coke deposition and catalyst deactivation. Studies focused solely on catalyst innovation are insufficient in addressing coke formation efficiently. Herein, we develop coke-free catalysts that balance kinetics of elementary steps for overall thermodynamics optimization. Beginning from a highly active cobalt aluminum oxide (CoAl2O4) catalyst that is susceptible to severe coke formation, we substitute aluminum (Al) with gallium (Ga), reporting a CoAl0.5Ga1.5O4-R catalyst that performs DRM stably over 1000 hours without observable coke deposition. We find that Ga enhances DRM stability by suppressing C-H activation to balance carbon removal. A series of coke-free DRM catalysts are developed herein by partially substituting Al from CoAl2O4 with other metals.

Background: Despite numerous observational studies on the association between serum 25-Hydroxyvitamin D levels and cutaneous melanoma, causal inferences remain ambiguous due to confounding and reverse causality. This study aimed to elucidate the causal relationship between serum 25-Hydroxyvitamin D levels and melanoma incidence using Mendelian randomization (MR). Methods: A two-sample MR was conducted using genetic variants associated with serum 25-Hydroxyvitamin D levels as instrumental variables. Summary statistics for these variants were derived from genome-wide association studies, and those for melanoma risk were obtained from a comprehensive melanoma case-control study. Robustness of the results was assessed through sensitivity analyses, including the "leave-one-out" approach and tests for potential pleiotropy. Results: The MR analysis provided substantial evidence of a positive causal relationship between serum 25-Hydroxyvitamin D levels and the incidence of cutaneous melanoma, suggesting that each unit increase in serum 25-Hydroxyvitamin D levels corresponds with an increased risk of melanoma. Tests for pleiotropy showed minimal effects, and the sensitivity analysis confirmed no disproportionate influence by any individual single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP). Conclusion: The findings indicated a potentially causal positive association between serum 25-Hydroxyvitamin D levels and melanoma risk, challenging traditional beliefs about vitamin D's role in melanoma. This emphasizes the need for a balanced and personalized approach to vitamin D supplementation and sun exposure, particularly in high-risk populations. These results should be interpreted with caution due to potential unrecognized pleiotropy and confounding factors. Future research should focus on validating these findings in diverse populations and exploring underlying biological mechanisms.

Catalytic hydrogenolysis of polyolefins into valuable liquid, oil, or wax-like hydrocarbon chains for second-life applications is typically accompanied by the hydrogen-wasting co-formation of low value volatiles, notably methane, that increase greenhouse gas emissions. Catalytic sites confined at the bottom of mesoporous wells, under conditions in which the pore exerts the greatest influence over the mechanism, are capable of producing less gases than unconfined sites. A new architecture was designed to emphasize this pore effect, with the active platinum nanoparticles embedded between linear, hexagonal mesoporous silica and gyroidal cubic MCM-48 silica (mSiO2/Pt/MCM-48). This catalyst deconstructs polyolefins selectively into ∼C20-C40 paraffins and cleaves C-C bonds at a rate (TOF = 4.2 ± 0.3 s-1) exceeding that of materials lacking these combined features while generating negligible volatile side products including methane. The time-independent product distribution is consistent with a processive mechanism for polymer deconstruction. In contrast to time- and polymer length-dependent products obtained from non-porous catalysts, mSiO2/Pt/MCM-48 yields a C28-centered Gaussian distribution of waxy hydrocarbons from polyolefins of varying molecular weight, composition, and physical properties, including low-density polyethylene, isotactic polypropylene, ultrahigh-molecular-weight polyethylene, and mixtures of multiple, post-industrial polyolefins. Coarse-grained simulation reveals that the porous-core architecture enables the paraffins to diffuse away from the active platinum site, preventing secondary reactions that produce gases.

Establishing a valid in vitro model to represent tumor heterogeneity and biology is critical but challenging. Tumor organoids are self-assembled three-dimensional cell clusters which are of great significance for recapitulating the histopathological, genetic, and phenotypic characteristics of primary tissues. The organoid has emerged as an attractive in vitro platform for tumor biology research and high-throughput drug screening in cancer medicine. Organoids offer unique advantages over cell lines and patient-derived xenograft models, but there are no standardized methods to guide the culture of organoids, leading to confusion in organoid studies that may affect accurate judgments of tumor biology. This review summarizes the shortcomings of current organoid culture methods, presents the latest research findings on organoid standardization, and proposes an outlook for organoid modeling.

Mixed epithelial and stromal tumors of the kidney (MESTK) are rare and recently defined entities that comprise both epithelial and stromal cells. MESTK is mostly benign; however, to date, 18 borderline or malignant cases have been reported. In this study, we report a case of carcinosarcoma exhibiting a large carcinoma and small sarcoma component, and review the relevant literature. The patient was a 59-year-old woman who presented with a large mass in the left kidney having solid and focal cystic components. The patient underwent left radical nephrectomy. The tumor was gray-white and solid-cystic, with a relatively clear boundary. Microscopically, the tumor revealed benign and malignant components. The benign component consisted of multiple tubules, variable-sized cysts lined with benign epithelium, and hyalinized stroma. The malignant component was composed of predominantly small cell neuroendocrine carcinoma and a small quantity of adenocarcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, and sarcoma. Finally, a diagnosis of the malignant MESTK was made. Certain cases of borderline or malignant transformation of MESTK have been published, so it is important to enhance findings made by other studies.

PURPOSE: Radiation pneumonitis (RP) is one of the common side effects of radiation therapy in the thoracic region. Radiomics and dosiomics quantify information implicit within medical images and radiation therapy dose distributions. In this study we demonstrate the prognostic potential of radiomics, dosiomics, and clinical features for RP prediction. METHODS AND MATERIALS: Radiomics, dosiomics, dose-volume histogram (DVH) metrics, and clinical parameters were obtained on 314 retrospectively collected and 35 prospectively enrolled patients diagnosed with lung cancer between 2013 to 2019. A radiomics risk score (R score) and dosiomics risk score (D score), as well as a DVH-score, were calculated based on logistic regression after feature selection. Six models were built using different combinations of R score, D score, DVH score, and clinical parameters to evaluate their added prognostic power. Overoptimism was evaluated by bootstrap resampling from the training set, and the prospectively collected cohort was used as the external test set. Model calibration and decision-curve characteristics of the best-performing models were evaluated. For ease of further evaluation, nomograms were constructed for selected models. RESULTS: A model built by integrating all of the R score, D score, and clinical parameters had the best discriminative ability with areas under the curve of 0.793 (95% confidence interval [CI], 0.735-0.851), 0.774 (95% CI, 0.762-0.786), and 0.855 (95% CI, 0.719-0.990) in the training, bootstrapping, and external test sets, respectively. The calibration curve image showed good agreement between the predicted and actual values, with a slope of 1.21 and intercept of -0.04. The decision curve image showed a positive net benefit for the final model based on the nomogram. CONCLUSIONS: Radiomic and dosiomic features have the potential to assist with the prediction of RP, and the combination of radiomics, dosiomics, and clinical parameters led to the best prognostic model in the present study.

Introduction: Amyloid light-chain cardiac amyloidosis is a progressive infiltrative disease characterized by the deposition of amyloid fibrils in the cardiac tissue, which can cause serious atrioventricular block requiring pacemaker implantation. Left bundle branch pacing has emerged as an alternative method for delivering physiological pacing to achieve electrical synchrony of the left ventricle. However, left bundle branch pacing in patients with amyloid light-chain cardiac amyloidosis has not been studied in detail. Therefore, in this study, we present a case of left bundle branch pacing in a patient with amyloid light-chain cardiac amyloidosis. Case summary: A 66-year-old male patient with amyloid light-chain cardiac amyloidosis presented with syncope for 1 month. Holter monitoring revealed intermittent third-degree atrioventricular block. Left bundle branch pacing was performed successfully. During the 1-year follow-up, it was observed that the left bundle branch capture threshold remained stable without any pacemaker-related complications or left ventricle systolic dysfunction, and there was no recurrence of syncope. Conclusion: Left bundle branch pacing appears to be a safe and feasible option for patients with amyloid light-chain cardiac amyloidosis experiencing atrioventricular block.

A hybrid catalyst with integrated single-atom Ni and nanoscale Cu catalytic components is reported to enhance the C-C coupling and ethylene (C2H4) production efficiency in the electrocatalytic CO2 reduction reaction (eCO2RR). The single-atom Ni anchored on high-surface-area ordered mesoporous carbon enables high-rate and selective conversion of CO2 to CO in a wide potential range, which complements the subsequent CO enrichment on Cu nanowires (NWs) for the C-C coupling to C2H4. In situ surface-enhanced infrared absorption spectroscopy (SEIRAS) confirms the substantially improved CO enrichment on Cu, once the incorporation of single-atom Ni occurs. Also, in situ X-ray absorption near-edge structure (XANES) demonstrates the structural stability of the hybrid catalyst during eCO2RR. By modulating hybrid compositions, the optimized catalyst shows 66% Faradaic efficiency (FE) in an alkaline flow cell with over 100 mA·cm-2 at -0.5 V versus reversible hydrogen electrode, leading to a five-order enhancement in C2H4 selectivity compared with single-component Cu NWs.

BACKGROUND: The Silva system has been demonstrated to have a good predictive value of lymph node metastasis (LNM) in endocervical adenocarcinoma (EAC). Tumours were classified based on the highest identified pattern of invasion in this system, this may not exactly reflect the true situation when it presents with a "mixed pattern" in some cases. Recent study has shown that patients with lymphovascular invasion (LVI) have worse prognosis in EAC. Here we design a Silva cumulative score (SCS) system which also combined the LVI status to explore its prognostic role in EAC patients. METHODS: A total of 120 patients with EAC were included in this study. Clinicopathological characteristics were retrospectively retrieved from the medical records and follow-up data were obtained. The clinicopathological information included age at diagnosis, depth of invasion (DOI), LNM, LVI, Silva classification, and SCS. SCS is a classification system based on the sum score of different Silva pattern which is founded on morphological phenomena. The relationships between the pathological characteristics and prognoses were analyzed. RESULTS: According to the Silva system, 11 (9.2%), 22 (18.3%) and 87 (72.5%) patients had patterns A, B, and C, respectively. Patients with pattern C had the highest incidence of LVI and LNM (p < 0.05). Although the Kaplan-Meier curves demonstrated that survival decreased with increasing Silva classification for A-C cancers, there was no statistically significant difference [disease-free survival (DFS): p = 0.181; overall survival (OS): p = 0.205]. There were 45 cases presented as mixed-type of Silva patterns. According to the SCS, 23 cases (19.2%) were rated as grade I, 31 cases (25.8%) as grade II and 66 (55.0%) cases as grade III. Patients with SCS grade III had the highest incidence of LVI and LNM (p < 0.05). Kaplan-Meier analysis revealed that patients with higher SCS had significantly shorter DFS and OS than those with lower SCS (p < 0.05). High SCS was an independent predictor of poorer OS and DFS (p < 0.05) in patients with EAC. CONCLUSIONS: The application of the Silva system could effectively predict the LNM of patients and may be helpful in selecting an appropriate surgical procedure. The SCS system we designed showed a good predictive value for DFS and OS in EAC.

Topical timolol and lasers are widely used for the treatment of infantile hemangioma (IH), and they can replace propranolol as the first-line treatment of IH. We aimed to investigate the efficacy and safety of topical timolol alone or lasers plus topical timolol versus lasers alone for the treatment of IH using a meta-analysis. We searched the PubMed, Embase, Cochrane Library, China National Knowledge Infrastructure, and Wanfang databases. A more conservative random effect model meta-analysis technique was used to analyze the efficacy and adverse reactions of timolol and lasers. Ten RCTs with a total of 979 patients with IH were included in this meta-analysis. Treatment with topical timolol alone was as effective as lasers in treating IH (risk ratio [RR] = 0.99, p = 0.94), with similar adverse events. The difference was not statistically significant (RR = 1.67, p = 0.14). Combined treatment with topical timolol and lasers showed a favorable response rate compared with treatment with either lasers (RR = 1.23, p = 0.01) or topical timolol (RR = 1.35, p = 0.001) alone. Furthermore, compared to topical timolol alone, the combined treatment indicated similar risks of adverse events (RR = 0.70, p = 0.38) but fewer risks of adverse events (RR = 0.39, p = 0.004) compared to lasers alone. This meta-analysis provided evidences that a combined treatment with topical timolol and lasers might be more effective than a single treatment strategy in infants with IH, and with no significant increase in adverse reactions. The combination of topical timolol and laser therapy might be the preferred choice for the treatment of IHs.

BACKGROUND: Lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) is one of the important enzyme systems for glycolysis and gluconeogenesis. It can catalyze the reduction and oxidation reaction between propionic acid and L-lactic acid, which is usually overexpressed in cancer cells. Therefore, inhibiting the activity of LDH is a promising way for the treatment of cancer. In this study, an effective method based on ligand fishing and ultra performance liquid chromatography-mass spectrum (UPLC-MS) was established to screen and identify active ingredients from Selaginella doederleinii with potential inhibitory activity for LDH. METHODS: Firstly, LDH was immobilized on the magnetic nanoparticles (MNPs), three immobilization parameters including LDH concentration, immobilization time and pH were optimized by single factor and response surface methodology for maximum (max) immobilization yield. Then, a mixed model of galloflavin and chlorogenic acid (inhibitors and non-inhibitors of LDH) was used to verify the specificity of immobilized LDH ligand fishing, and the conditions of ligand fishing were further optimized. Finally, combined with UPLC-MS, immobilized LDH was used to simultaneously screen and identify potential LDH inhibitors from the ethyl acetate extract of Selaginella doederleinii. RESULTS: The prepared fishing material was comprehensively characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscope (TEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and fourier transform infrared spectrometer (FT-IR). The optimal immobilization conditions were obtained as LDH concentration of 0.7 mg/mL, pH value of 4.5, and immobilization time of 3.5 h. Under these conditions, the max immobilization yield was (3.79 ± 0.08) × 103 U/g. The specificity analysis showed that immobilized LDH could recognize and capture ligands, and the optimal ligand fishing conditions included that the incubation time was 30 min, the elution time was 20 min, and the concentration of methanol as eluent was 80%. Finally, two LDH inhibitors, amentoflavone and robustaflavone, were screened by immobilized LDH from the ethyl acetate extract of Selaginella doederleinii. CONCLUSIONS: The study provided a meaningful evidence for discovering the bioactive constituents in ethyl acetate extract of Selaginella doederleinii related to cancer treatment, and this ligand fishing method was feasible for screening enzyme inhibitors from similar complex mixtures.

Remdesivir is one of the effective drugs proposed for the treatment of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). However, the study on inhalable regimen is currently limited though COVID-19 is respiratory diseases and infects lung area. This work aims to prepare inhalable remdesivir formulations and verify their effectiveness through in vitro evaluations. Formulations containing different ratios of jet-milled inhalable remdesivir (5, 10, 20,40, and 70%) with excipients were produced and characterized in terms of the particle size distribution, particle morphology, flowability, water content, crystallinity, the water sorption and desorption capabilities, and the aerodynamic performance. Results indicating that drug loading are a vital factor in facilitating the dispersion of remdesivir dry powder, and the ternary excipient plays a negligible role in improving aerosol performance. Besides, the 70% remdesivir with lactose carrier (70% RD-Lac) was physically stable and retain high aerosol performance after conditioned at 40 °C and 75% RH for a month. Therefore, formulation 70% RD-Lac might be recommended as a candidate product for the potential treatment of COVID-19.

Polyphenols in vinegar are benefit to human health. The purpose of this research was to identify the polyphenols-rich vinegar extract (VE) and evaluate the anti-diabetic mechanisms in vivo. The results showed that 29 polyphenols were identified by UPLC-Q/Trap-MS/MS analysis. 4-Hydroxybenzoic acid, ferulic acid, and ethyl ferulate were the main polyphenols. In addition, VE relieved the symptoms of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) by down-regulating blood glucose and lipemia. VE reduced inflammation by inhibiting TLR4/NF-κB signaling pathway. Furthermore, VE treatment restored gut microbiota dysbiosis (upregulating Bacteroidetes, Lactobacillus, Bifidobacterium, and Bacteroides and downregulating Firmicutes, Proteobacteria, and Enterorhabdus abundances), and increased short chain fatty acids contents in diabetic mice, which participated in anti-diabetic effect of VE by correlation analysis. These findings suggest that VE may be a candidate for T2DM intervention by regulating gut microbiota and inflammation.
