RESUMO

Addressing common challenges such as limited indicators, poor adaptability, and imprecise modeling in gas pre-warning systems for driving faces, this study proposes a hybrid predictive and pre-warning model grounded in time-series analysis. The aim is to tackle the effects of broad application across diverse mines and insufficient data on warning accuracy. Firstly, we introduce an adaptive normalization (AN) model for standardizing gas sequence data, prioritizing recent information to better capture the time-series characteristics of gas readings. Coupled with the Gated Recurrent Unit (GRU) model, AN demonstrates superior forecasting performance compared to other standardization techniques. Next, Ensemble Empirical Mode Decomposition (EEMD) is used for feature extraction, guiding the selection of the Variational Mode Decomposition (VMD) order. Minimal decomposition errors validate the efficacy of this approach. Furthermore, enhancements to the transformer framework are made to manage non-linearities, overcome gradient vanishing, and effectively analyze long time-series sequences. To boost versatility across different mining scenarios, the Optuna framework facilitates multiparameter optimization, with xgbRegressor employed for accurate error assessment. Predictive outputs are benchmarked against Recurrent Neural Networks (RNN), GRU, Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM), and Bidirectional LSTM (BiLSTM), where the hybrid model achieves an R-squared value of 0.980975 and a Mean Absolute Error (MAE) of 0.000149, highlighting its top performance. To cope with data scarcity, bootstrapping is applied to estimate the confidence intervals of the hybrid model. Dimensional analysis aids in creating real-time, relative gas emission metrics, while persistent anomaly detection monitors sudden time-series spikes, enabling unsupervised early alerts for gas bursts. This model demonstrates strong predictive prowess and effective pre-warning capabilities, offering technological reinforcement for advancing intelligent coal mine operations.

RESUMO

Seawater splitting is a compelling avenue to produce abundant hydrogen, which requires high-performance and cost-effective catalysts. Constructing bimetallic transition metal phosphides is a feasible strategy to meet the challenge. Here, an amorphous Co-Mo-P film supported on nickel foam (Co-Mo-P/NF) electrode is developed with bifunctional properties for both the hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) and oxygen evolution reaction (OER) in alkaline seawater. Corresponding results indicate that the introduction of Mo can improve the active sites and regulate the intrinsic activity. Such a Co-Mo-P/NF behaves with prominent electrocatalytic activity towards both HER and OER, demanding low overpotentials of 193 and 352 mV at 100 mA cm‒2in alkaline seawater, respectively. Furthermore, the assembled electrolyzer demands a pronounced overall seawater splitting activity with a low cell voltage of 1.76 V to deliver 100 mA cm-2presenting excellent durability without obvious attenuation after 24 h continuous stability test. This work expands the horizon to develop transition metal-phosphorus electrocatalysts with robust and efficient activity for overall seawater splitting.

RESUMO

Constructing efficient and low-cost oxygen evolution reaction (OER) catalysts operating in seawater is essential for green hydrogen production but remains a great challenge. In this study, we report an iron doped cobalt carbonate hydroxide nanowire array on nickel foam (Fe-CoCH/NF) as a high-efficiency OER electrocatalyst. In alkaline seawater, such Fe-CoCH/NF demands an overpotential of 387 mV to drive 500 mA cm-2, superior to that of CoCH/NF (597 mV). Moreover, it achieves excellent electrochemical and structural stability in alkaline seawater.

RESUMO

Seawater electrolysis driven by renewable electricity is deemed a promising and sustainable strategy for green hydrogen production, but it is still formidably challenging. Here, we report an iron-doped NiS nanosheet array on Ni foam (Fe-NiS/NF) as a high-performance and stable seawater splitting electrocatalyst. Such Fe-NiS/NF catalyst needs overpotentials of only 420 and 270 mV at 1000 mA cm-2 for the oxygen evolution reaction and hydrogen evolution reaction in alkaline seawater, respectively. Furthermore, its two-electrode electrolyzer needs a cell voltage of 1.88 V for 1000 mA cm-2 with 50 h of long-term electrochemical durability in alkaline seawater. Additionally, in situ electrochemical Raman and infrared spectroscopy were employed to detect the reconstitution process of NiOOH and the generation of oxygen intermediates under reaction conditions.

RESUMO

The cobalt nanoparticles decorated biomass Juncus derived carbon (Co@JDC) was prepared by facile calcination strategy and applied to activate peroxymonosulfate (PMS) for eliminating ofloxacin (OFX) in the water environment. The results of catalytic experiments show that 97% of OFX degradation efficiency and 70.4% of chemical oxygen demand removal rate are obtained within 24 min at 0.1 g L-1 Co@JDC, 0.2 g L-1 PMS, 20 mg L-1 OFX (100 mL), and pH = 7, which indicates that Co@JDC/PMS system exhibits excellent performance. Meanwhile, the experimental results of affect factor show that Co@JDC/PMS system can operate in a wider pH range (3-9) and Cl-1, NO3-1, and SO42- have an ignorable effect on OFX degradation. The radical identification experiments confirm that SO4˙-, ·OH, O2˙-, and 1O2 are involved in the process of PMS activation, especially SO4˙- and 1O2 are the main contributors. Furthermore, a possible PMS activation mechanism by Co@JDC was proposed and the degradation pathways of OFX were deduced. Finally, the stable catalytic activity, negligible leaching of Co2+, and the outstanding degradation efficiency for other antibiotics prove that Co@JDC possesses good stability and universality.

RESUMO

Electrochemical in situ sensing of small signal molecules released from living cells has an increasing significance in early diagnosis, pathological analyses, and drug discovery. Here, a living cell-fixed sensing platform was built using the BC@DNA-Mn3(PO4)2 nanozyme, in which a highly biocompatible bacterial cellulose riveted with very tiny Mn3(PO4)2; it not only delivers high catalytic activity toward superoxide anions but possesses excellent biocompatibility for cell adsorption and growth. Additionally, the experimental results suggested that fixing the living cells on the surface of the sensing platform facilitates tiny Mn3(PO4)2 activity centers to capture and detect O2•- very quickly and simultaneously has great potential in miniaturization, cost reduction, and real-time monitoring.

RESUMO

The aim of the present study was to identify novel microRNA (miRNA) or long noncoding RNA (lncRNA) signatures of laryngeal cancer recurrence and to investigate the regulatory mechanisms associated with this malignancy. Datasets of recurrent and nonrecurrent laryngeal cancer samples were downloaded from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) and the Gene Expression Omnibus database (GSE27020 and GSE25727) to examine differentially expressed miRNAs (DEmiRs), lncRNAs (DElncRs) and mRNAs (DEGs). miRNAmRNA and lncRNAmiRNA networks were constructed by investigating the associations among these RNAs in various databases. Subsequently, the interactions identified were combined into a competing endogenous RNA (ceRNA) regulatory network. Feature genes in the miRNAmRNA network were identified via topological analysis and a recursive feature elimination algorithm. A support vector machine (SVM) classifier was established using the betweenness centrality values in the miRNAmRNA network, consisting of 32 optimal featurecoding genes. The classification effect was tested using two validation datasets. Furthermore, coding genes in the ceRNA network were examined via pathway enrichment analyses. In total, 21 DElncRs, 507 DEGs and 55 DEmiRs were selected. The SVM classifier exhibited an accuracy of 94.05% (79/84) for sample classification prediction in the TCGA dataset, and 92.66 and 91.07% in the two validation datasets. The ceRNA regulatory network comprised 203 nodes, corresponding to mRNAs, miRNAs and lncRNAs, and 346 lines, corresponding to the interactions among RNAs. In particular, the interactions with the highest scores were HLA complex group 4 (HCG4)miR33b, HOX transcript antisense RNA (HOTAIR)miR1MAGE family member A2 (MAGEA2), EMX2 opposite strand/antisense RNA (EMX2OS)miR124calcitonin related polypeptide α (CALCA) and EMX2OSmiR124Î³aminobutyric acid type A receptor Î³2 subunit (GABRG2). Gene enrichment analysis of the genes in the ceRNA network identified that 11 pathway terms and 16 molecular function terms were significantly enriched. The SVM classifier based on 32 feature coding genes exhibited high accuracy in the classification of laryngeal cancer samples. miR1, miR33b, miR124, HOTAIR, HCG4 and EMX2OS may be novel biomarkers of recurrent laryngeal cancer, and HCG4miR33b, HOTAIRmiR1MAGEA2 and EMX2OSmiR124CALCA/GABRG2 may be associated with the molecular mechanisms regulating recurrent laryngeal cancer.

RESUMO

The severe damage to health and social burden caused by head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC) generated an urgent need to develop novel anti-cancer therapy. Currently, drug repositioning has risen in responses to the proper time as an efficient approach to invention of new anti-cancer therapies. In the present study, we aimed to screen candidate drugs for HNSCC by integrating HNSCC-related pathways from differentially expressed genes (DEGs) and drug-affected pathways from connectivity map (CMAP). We also endeavored to unveil the molecular mechanism of HNSCC through creating drug-target network and protein-to-protein (PPI) network of component DEGs in key overlapping pathways. As a result, a total of 401 DEGs were obtained from TCGA and GTEx mRNA-seq data. Taking the intersection part of 27 HNSCC-related Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes pathways and 33 drug-affected pathways, we retained 22 candidate drugs corresponding to two key pathways (cell cycle and p53 signaling pathways) of the five overlapping pathways. Two of the hub genes (PCNA and CCND1) identified from the PPI network of component DEGs in cell cycle and p53 signaling pathways were defined as the critical targets of candidate drugs with increased protein expression in HNSCC tissues, which was reported by the human protein atlas (HPA) database and cBioPortal. Finally, we validated via molecular docking analysis that two drugs with unknown effects in HNSCC: MG-262 and bepridil might perturb the development of HNSCC through targeting PCNA. These candidate drugs possessed broad application prospect as medication for HNSCC.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: The role of miR-99a-3p in Head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC) has not been reported. Therefore, in this study, we examined the expression level and its molecular mechanisms of miR-99a-3p in HNSCC. MATERIALS AND METHODS: MiR-99a-3p-related miRNA-chip and miRNA-sequencing data were collected. We then carried out meta-analyses to pool the standard mean difference (SMD) value and generate a summarized receiver operating characteristic (sROC) curve. MiR-99a-3p mimic was transfected into FaDu cells and those genes influenced by miR-99a-3p were gathered. The target genes were also predicted from 12 tools through miRwalk2.0, and combined with differentially expressed genes in HNSCC from the The Cancer Genome Atlas and Genotype-Tissue Expression sequencing databases. FunRich and DAVID were used for the pathway signaling analyses for the potential targets of miR-99a-3p in HNSCC. RESULTS: The SMD was -0.30 (95% CI: -0.51, -0.08) in the fixed-effect model and -0.28 (95% CI: -0.67, 0.10) in the random-effect model (I2 = 60%), indicating a reduced expression level of miR-99a-3p in HNSCC tissues based on 1167 cases. In the sROC curve, the area under the curve (AUC) was 0.77 (95% CI: 0.73, 0.81). The 251 potential targets of miR-99a-3p were enriched in several pathways related to cancer, with the "Pathways in cancer" standing at the top. vascular endothelial growth factor A was selected as an example with up-regulated trend in HNSCC tissues. CONCLUSION: MiR-99a-3p exhibits a significant lower expression status in HNSCC, and this reduced or deletion status promotes the malignant progression of HNSCC. However, its molecular mechanism is still unclear and requires further investigation.

RESUMO

The major histocompatibility complex (MHC) is most closely associated with nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC), but the complexity of its genome structure has proven challenging for the discovery of causal MHC loci or genes. We conducted a targeted MHC sequencing in 40 Cantonese NPC patients followed by a two-stage replication in 1065 NPC cases and 2137 controls of Southern Chinese descendent. Quantitative RT-PCR analysis (qRT-PCR) was used to detect gene expression status in 108 NPC and 43 noncancerous nasopharyngeal (NP) samples. Luciferase reporter assay and chromatin immunoprecipitation (ChIP) were used to assess the transcription factor binding site. We discovered that a novel SNP rs117565607_A at TRIM26 displayed the strongest association (OR = 1.909, Pcombined = 2.750 × 10-19 ). We also observed that TRIM26 was significantly downregulated in NPC tissue samples with genotype AA/AT than TT. Immunohistochemistry (IHC) test also found the TRIM26 protein expression in NPC tissue samples with the genotype AA/AT was lower than TT. According to computational prediction, rs117565607 locus was a binding site for the transcription factor Yin Yang 1 (YY1). We observed that the luciferase activity of YY1 which is binding to the A allele of rs117565607 was suppressed. ChIP data showed that YY1 was binding with T not A allele. Significance analysis of microarray suggested that TRIM26 downregulation was related to low immune response in NPC. We have identified a novel gene TRIM26 and a novel SNP rs117565607_A associated with NPC risk by regulating transcriptional process and established a new functional link between TRIM26 downregulation and low immune response in NPC.

RESUMO

Packing the nose after septoplasty is common practice. The use of postoperative packing has been proposed to reduce the dead space between the subperichondrial flaps and minimize postoperative complications such as hemorrhage, septal hematoma, and formation of synechiae. Additionally, postoperative packing is thought to stabilize the remaining cartilaginous septum and minimize persistence or recurrence of septal deviation. Despite these theoretic advantages, evidence to support the use of postoperative packing is lacking. Additionally, nasal packing is not an innocuous procedure. The use of nasal packing actually cause these complications such as postop- erative pain, mucosal injury, bleeding, worsening of breathing due to sleep disorders, and postoperative infections. Routine use of anterior nasal packing after septoplasty should be challenged for not presenting proven benefit. As alternatives to traditional packing, septal suturing, septal stapler and fibrin glue have been used recently. The purpose of this article is to summarize the progress of traditional packing to no packing after septoplasty.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: To Summary the experience of surgical treatment for many times in 1 case of maxillofacial huge dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans. METHOD: The patient was diagnosed with dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans according to the pathological examination. From 2004 to 2011, the patient underwent extensive surgical resection, Mohs micrographic surgery(MMS) and free flap grafting method as surgical treatment for many times, and was closely followed-up after operation. RESULT: The tumor was completely removed in each operation, with wound skin graft survived. But relapse occured repeatedly, recurrence interval was from 7 months up to five years and eight months, recurrence interval gradually extended, all of the recurrence occurred at Mohs microsurgery cut edge. CONCLUSION: Eexpanded resection is the preferred treatment for the early stage maxillofacial huge dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans. For advanced stage tumor, expanded resection should be combined with Mohs microsurgery. Free flap grafting was suggested in primary repair insteading of myocutaneous flap. At the same time, postoperative assistant radiotherapy, strengthen follow-up and early intervention were suggested.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: To investigate the expression and concentration of lipopolysaccharide (LPS) and matrix metalloproteinase-9 (MMP-9) in middle ear cholesteatoma and discuss their relations. METHOD: Twenty-nine cases of middle ear cholesteatoma tissue, 18 cases of external auditory canal tissue were detected by limulus amebocyte lysate assay (LAL-assay), and expression of MMP-9 protein in formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissues was detected by immunohistochemical method. RESULT: The concentrations of LPS in cholesteatoma were higher than that in external auditory canal tissues. In group of cholesteatoma: M = 0.739 0, IQR = 0.6203, and in group of external auditory canal tissues: M = -0.2538, IQR = 1.1692 (P < 0.01). In cholesteatoma groups, in extensive type: M = 0.8403, IQR = 0.5254; in localized type: M = 0.4048, IQR = 0.6139, the concentrations of LPS were higher in extensive cholesteatoma in comparison with localized cholesteatoma (P < 00.05). In cholesteatoma epithelium samples, MMP-9 were 79.3%. Compared with external auditory canal epithelium, the expression of MMP-9 was higher in middle ear cholesteatoma epithelium (P < 0.05). There was no significant difference in the expression of MMP-9 between two types of cholesteatoma epithelium (P > 0.05). LPS, MMP-9 weren't significantly correlated by Spearman test. CONCLUSION: LPS was responsible for middle ear cholesteatoma and its related bone erosion. MMP-9 was related to the development of middle ear cholesteatoma. There's no correlation between LPS and MMP-9.
