RESUMO

The delay in wound healing caused by chronic wounds or pathological scars is a pressing issue in clinical practice, imposing significant economic and psychological burdens on patients. In particular, with the aging of the population and the increasing incidence of diseases such as diabetes, impaired wound healing is one of the growing health problems. MicroRNA (miRNA) plays a crucial role in wound healing and regulates various biological processes. Our results show that miR-618 was significantly upregulated during the inflammatory phase of wound healing.Subsequently, miR-618 promotes the secretion of pro-inflammatory cytokines and regulates the proliferation and migration of keratinocytes. Mechanistically, miR-618 binds to the target gene-Atp11b and inhibits the PI3K-Akt signaling pathway, inhibiting the epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) of keratinocytes. In addition, the PI3K-Akt signaling pathway induces the enrichment of nuclear miR-618, and miR-618 binds to the promoter of Lin7a to regulate gene transcription. Intradermal injection of miR-618 antagomir around full-thickness wounds in peridermal mice effectively accelerates wound closure compared to control. In conclusion, miR-618 antagomir can be a potential therapeutic agent for wound healing.

Background: The presence of peripheral inflammatory cells has been linked to the prognosis of cancer. This study aims to investigate the distinct roles of absolute neutrophil count (ANC) and absolute monocyte count (AMC) in differentiating renal cell carcinoma (RCC) from renal angiomyolipoma (RAML), as well as their prognostic significance in RCC. Methods: We conducted a comprehensive analysis of peripheral immune cell data, clinicopathological data, and tumor characteristics in patients diagnosed with RCC or RAML from January 2015 to December 2021. Receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves, as well as univariate and multivariate analyses, were employed to assess the diagnostic utility of AMC and ANC in differentiating between RCC and RAML. Kaplan-Meier curve analysis was used to study the survival of RCC patients with different AMC and ANC. The prognostic value of AMC and ANC in RCC was investigated using COX univariate and multivariate analysis. The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) and Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) databases were used for bioinformatic correlation analysis. Results: A total of 1120 eligible patients were included in the study. The mean preoperative AMC and ANC in patients with RCC were found to be significantly higher compared to those in patients with RAML (P = 0.001 and P < 0.001, respectively). High preoperative AMC and ANC significantly correlated with smoking history, tumor length, gross hematuria, and high T Stage, N stage, and pathological grade. In multivariate analyses, an ANC> 3.205 *10^9/L was identified to be independently associated with the presence of RCC (HR = 1.618, P = 0.008). High AMC and ANC were significantly associated with reduced OS and PFS (P < 0.05), and ANC may be an independent prognostic factor. Public database analysis showed that signature genes of tumor-associated macrophages (TAMs) and tumor-associated neutrophils (TANs) were highly expressed in ccRCC. Conclusions: Elevated preoperative ANC and AMC can distinguish RCC from RAML and predict poor prognosis in patients with RCC. Furthermore, the signature genes of TAMs and TANs exhibit high expression levels in clear cell RCC.

Molecular chaperone heat shock protein 90 (Hsp90) is a ubiquitous regulator that fine-tunes and remodels diverse client proteins, exerting profound effects on normal biology and diseases. Unraveling the mechanistic details of Hsp90's function requires atomic-level insights into its client interactions throughout the adenosine triphosphate-coupled functional cycle. However, the structural details of the initial encounter complex in the chaperone cycle, wherein Hsp90 adopts an open conformation while engaging with the client, remain elusive. Here, using nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy, we determined the solution structure of Hsp90 in its open state, bound to a disordered client. Our findings reveal that Hsp90 uses two distinct binding sites, collaborating synergistically to capture discrete hydrophobic segments within client proteins. This bipartite interaction generates a versatile complex that facilitates rapid conformational sampling. Moreover, our investigations spanning various clients and Hsp90 orthologs demonstrate a pervasive mechanism used by Hsp90 orthologs to accommodate the vast array of client proteins. Collectively, our work contributes to establish a unified conceptual and mechanistic framework, elucidating the intricate interplay between Hsp90 and its clients.

OBJECTIVE: To investigate the clinical effect of human acellular dermal matrix (HADM) combined with split-thickness skin graft in repairing lacunar soft tissue defects of the lateral heel after calcaneal fracture. METHODS: From June 2018 to October 2020, providers repaired 11 cases of lacunar soft tissue defects at the lateral part of the heel using HADM combined with split-thickness skin graft. After thorough debridement, the HADM was trimmed and filled into the lacunar defect area. Once the wound was covered, a split-thickness skin graft and negative-pressure wound therapy were applied. Providers evaluated the appearance, scar, ductility of the skin graft site, appearance of the donor site, healing time, and any reoperation at follow-up. RESULTS: Of the 11 cases, 8 patients achieved successful wound healing by primary intention. Three patients showed partial necrosis in the edge of the skin graft, but the wound healed after standard wound care. Evaluation at 6 and 12 months after surgery showed that all patients had wound healing and mild local scarring; there was no obvious pigmentation or scar formation in the donor skin area. The average healing time was 37.5 days (range, 24-43 days). CONCLUSIONS: The HADM combined with split-thickness skin graft is a simple and effective reconstruction method for lacunar soft tissue defect of the lateral heel after calcaneal fracture. In this small sample, the combination demonstrated few infections, minor scar formation, few donor site complications, and relatively short hospital stays.

Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is instrumental in the noninvasive evaluation of tumor tissues in patients subjected to chemotherapy, thereby yielding essential diagnostic data crucial for the prognosis of tumors and the formulation of therapeutic strategies. Currently, commercially available MRI contrast agents (CAs) predominantly consist of mononuclear gadolinium(III) complexes. Because there is only one Gd(III) atom per molecule, these CAs often require administration in high doses to achieve the desired contrast quality, which inevitably leads to some adverse events. Herein, we develop a six-nuclei, apoptosis-targeting T1 CA, Gd6-ZnDPA nanoprobe, which consists of a hexanuclear gadolinium nanocluster (Gd6) with an apoptosis-targeting group (ZnDPA). The amplification of Gd(III) by the hexanuclear structure generates its high longitudinal relaxivity (44.67 mM-1 s-1, 1T) and low r1/r2 ratio (0.68, 1T). Based on the Solomon-Bloembergen-Morgan (SBM) theory, this notable improvement is primarily ascribed to a long correlation tumbling time (τR). More importantly, the Gd6-ZnDPA nanoprobe shows excellent tumor apoptosis properties with an enhanced MR signal ratio (∼74%) and a long MRI imaging acquisition time window (∼48 h) in 4T1 tumor-bearing mice. This study introduces an experimental gadolinium-based CA for the potential imaging of tumor apoptosis in the context of MRI.

Urinary cancer is synonymous with clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC). Unfortunately, existing treatments for this illness are ineffective and unpromising. Finding novel ccRCC biomarkers is crucial to creating successful treatments. The Cancer Genome Atlas provided clear cell renal cell carcinoma transcriptome data. Functional enrichment analysis was performed on ccRCC and control samples' differentially expressed N6-methyladenosine RNA methylation and ferroptosis-related genes (DEMFRGs). Machine learning was used to find and model ccRCC patients' predicted genes. A nomogram was created for clear cell renal cell carcinoma patients. Prognostic genes were enriched. We examined patients' immune profiles by risk score. Our prognostic genes predicted ccRCC treatment drugs. We found 37 DEMFRGs by comparing 1913 differentially expressed ccRCC genes to 202 m6A RNA methylation FRGs. Functional enrichment analysis showed that hypoxia-induced cell death and metabolism pathways were the most differentially expressed methylation functional regulating genes. Five prognostic genes were found by machine learning: TRIB3, CHAC1, NNMT, EGFR, and SLC1A4. An advanced renal cell carcinoma nomogram with age and risk score accurately predicted the outcome. These five prognostic genes were linked to various cancers. Immunological cell number and checkpoint expression differed between high- and low-risk groups. The risk model successfully predicted immunotherapy outcome, showing high-risk individuals had poor results. NIACIN, TAE-684, ROCILETINIB, and others treat ccRCC. We found ccRCC prognostic genes that work. This discovery may lead to new ccRCC treatments.

UBXD family (UBXDF), a group of proteins containing ubiquitin regulatory X (UBX) domains, play a crucial role in the imbalance of proliferation and apoptotic in cancer. In this study, we summarised bioinformatics proof on multi-omics databases and literature on UBXDF's effects on cancer. Bioinformatics analysis revealed that Fas-associated factor 1 (FAF1) has the largest number of gene alterations in the UBXD family and has been linked to survival and cancer progression in many cancers. UBXDF may affect tumour microenvironment (TME) and drugtherapy and should be investigated in the future. We also summarised the experimental evidence of the mechanism of UBXDF in cancer, both in vitro and in vivo, as well as its application in clinical and targeted drugs. We compared bioinformatics and literature to provide a multi-omics insight into UBXDF in cancers, review proof and mechanism of UBXDF effects on cancers, and prospect future research directions in-depth. We hope that this paper will be helpful for direct cancer-related UBXDF studies.

BACKGROUND: To investigate the functional and aesthetic results of a new modified Bilhaut-Cloquet procedure for the treatment of Wassel type III-IV thumb polydactyly. METHODS: Thirteen patients with Wassel type III-IV thumb polydactyly who visited the Department of Orthopedics of Hebei Provincial Children's Hospital from 2019 to 2022 were selected. The surgical procedure involved a modified Bilhaut-Cloquet surgery, where two-thirds of the distal part of the dominant finger was retained as the p body of the reconstructed thumb. The triangular bone block of the ablated distal thumb that did not contain the epiphysis and articular cartilage was sutured and fixed, and the neurovascular flap of the ablated distal thumb was used as an augmenting segment of the reconstructed thumb, with the nail bed and nail matrix exquisitely sutured. The evaluation performed according to the Japanese Society for Surgery of the Hand (JSSH) system. RESULTS: All 13 children showed bone healing, no wound infection, nonunion, or deformity healing. None of the children showed a significant reduction in the active and passive mobility of the thumb postoperatively compared with preoperatively. Postoperative evaluation was performed based on the JSSH score, with a mean of 17.15 points (14-19 points), with 11 children rated as excellent and two as good. No severe nail ridges, nail gaps, or nail split deformities of the thumb were observed postoperatively. Postoperative metacarpophalangeal and interphalangeal joint movements were not reduced compared with preoperative movements. All parents were satisfied with the appearance and function of the reconstructed thumb. CONCLUSION: The modified Bilhaut-Cloquet procedure designed in this study was satisfactory for Wassel type III-IV thumb polydactyly without affecting the stability of the interphalangeal joints and preserving joint mobility. The postoperative thumb has a comparable circumference and nail width and was cosmetically and functionally satisfactory, especially for the asymmetric two thumbs, which achieved favorable results.

Endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) has been widely used in the early neoplasia of the esophagus. However, postoperative esophageal stenosis is a big problem, particularly when a large circumferential proportion of esophageal mucosa is resected. Currently, there are several methods available to prevent esophageal stenosis after ESD, including steroid administration, esophageal stent implantation, and endoscopic balloon dilation (EBD). However, the therapeutic effects of these are not yet satisfactory. Stem cell-based therapies has shown promising potential in reconstructing tissue structure and restoring tissue function. In this study, we discussed the current strategies for preventing esophageal stenosis after ESD and perspectives of stem cell-based therapies for the prevention of esophageal stenosis.

The estrogenic effect of plant growth regulators has been received little attention, which leads to the lack of relevant toxicity data. In this study, the estrogenic effect induced by gibberellin with ERα-dependent manner was found by E-screen and western blot methods, and the electrochemical signals of MCF-7 cells regulated by gibberellin and fulvestrant were investigated. The results showed that the electrochemical signals of MCF-7 cells were increased by gibberellin, while reduced by fulvestrant significantly, and displayed an extremely sensitive response to the effects of estrogenic effect induced by ERα agonist and antagonist. Western blot results showed that the expressions of phosphoribosyl pyrophosphate amidotransferase and hypoxanthine nucleotide dehydrogenase in de novo purine synthesis and adenine deaminase in catabolism were more effective regulated by gibberellin and fulvestrant, resulting in significant changes of the levels of guanine, hypoxanthine and xanthine in cells, and then electrochemical signals. The results provide a theoretical basis for the establishment of new electrochemical detection method of the estrogenic effect of plant regulators.

PURPOSE: Immune checkpoint therapy (ICT) provides a new idea for the treatment of advanced clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC), which can bring significant benefits to patients. However, the clinical application of ICT is limited because of the lack of predictive biomarkers to select potential responders. This study aims to propose a new biomarker to predict the response to Nivolumab in patients with ccRCC. MATERIALS AND METHODS: The genes that significantly improve the prognosis of ccRCC were retrieved from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) database. The genomic and clinical data were from patients that had been registered in prospective clinical trials (CheckMate 009, CheckMate 010 and CheckMate 025). TCGA, Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO), and The Human Protein Atlas database were used to analyze the gene and protein expression of WD repeat-containing protein 72 (WDR72) in ccRCC. Gene Ontology (GO) & The Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) and Gene Set Enrichment Analysis (GSEA) were performed to dig relevant mechanisms of WDR72. Single sample gene set enrichment analysis (ssGSEA) was conducted to evaluate the role of WDR72 in immune infiltration. Cell proliferation assay, FAO and ATP quantification were used to explore and verify the molecular mechanisms. The expression of WDR72, FOXP3, CD8, and CPT1A was examined by IHC in 20 advanced ccRCC tissue samples at the Urology Department of our hospital. The MethSurv was used to identify PBRM1 and WDR72 gene methylation and its effect on prognosis of ccRCC. RESULTS: WDR72 is the most significant gene for improving overall survival (OS) in ccRCC. In all three checkmates, OS and progression free survival (PFS) were found to be significantly higher in WDR72 high expression group than that in WDR72 low expression group (P=0.040 and P=0.012, respectively), and similar conclusions could be drawn from the PBRM1-mutation (MUT) compared with the PBRM1-wildtype (WT) (P=0.007 and P=0.006, respectively). What's more, high expression of WDR72 plus PBRM1-MUT as a combinatorial biomarker showed improved OS (HR=0.388, P=0.0026) and PFS (HR=0.39, P=0.0066) compared to low expression of WDR72 plus PBRM1-WT. Functional enrichment analysis showed that WDR72 was closely positively related to fatty acid degradation and fatty acid beta oxidation pathway in ccRCC. In vitro experiments showed that high expression of WDR72 can promote fatty acids oxidation and inhibit the proliferation of ccRCC cells. Immune analysis revealed that WDR72 high expression was associated with decreased infiltration of Treg cells and low ssGSEA score of check-point. IHC results showed that WDR72 was negatively correlated with FOXP3 expression (r=-0.506, P=0.023) and positively correlated with CPT1A expression (r=0.529, P=0.017). CONCLUSIONS: The present study indicated that high expression of WDR72 may indicate a good prognosis of patients treated with Nivolumab and WDR72 expression combined with PBRM1 mutation could be more persuasive to predict the response for ICT in ccRCC patients.

BACKGROUND: Pulmonary inflammatory response (PIR) is one of the prognostic risk factors of lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD), with a high mortality rate. OBJECTIVES: This study aims to investigate prognostic microRNA (miRNA) to improve clinical prognosis prediction and postoperative inflammation treatment in LUAD patients. METHODS: About 201 differentially expressed microRNAs (DE-miRNAs) in LUAD were mined by differential analysis. Univariate/multivariate Cox analyses established and validated prognostic risk miRNAs in TCGA-LUAD. KEGG and GO were used to link risk signatures and biological functions. After 48 hours of exposure to 50 ng/mL LPS, the miR-584-5p/RAB23 regulatory network was verified in qRT-PCR, Western Blotting, and the Luciferase Reporter Assay in A549 cells. RESULTS: MiR-584-5p and miR-101-3p were validated as riskscore correlated with LUAD patients' 1-year survival (p < 0.001) and participate in multiple inflammation-related pathways. RAB23, a RAS oncogene, is involved in inflammatory MAPK signaling. Evidence suggests that miR-584-5p regulates inflammation in LUAD by targeting RAB23. A549 cells were transfected with the mimic and inhibitor of miR-584-5p, confirming the negative regulatory relationship between miR-584-5p and RAB23. In the A549 induced by LPS, either over-expression of miR-584-5p or knock-down of RAB23 expression decreased the expression of inflammatory factors and increased cell viability. CONCLUSION: Prognostic-related risk miR-584-5p can regulate the expression of RAB23 at both the mRNA and protein levels, thereby influencing the development of a PIR in LUAD. This will have significant implications for the clinical prognosis prediction and therapy decision-making of LUAD patients with PIR.

Anion-exchange membrane water electrolyzer (AEMWE) is attracting attention for hydrogen production owing to its ability to employ nonprecious metal catalysts and high energy conversion efficiency. Spinel-structured transition metal oxides exhibit excellent potential in oxygen evolution reaction (OERs). Nevertheless, the research on highly active and durable spinel-structured electrodes for the anodic OER of AEMWE is deficient. Herein, a self-supported S-CoCu oxide/nickel foam (S-CoCuOx/NF) anode was synthesized through a two-step method (electrodeposition and sulfidation). The formation of abundant oxygen vacancies and heterostructure collaboratively enhances the electron and mass transfer, resulting in an overpotential of 313 mV at 100 mA cm-2 for OER. For the lab-scale AEMWE system with the S-CoCuOx/NF anode, a current density of 1 A cm-2 was obtained at 1.87 V (cell voltage) with high durability for 110 h (1 A cm-2) at 60 °C. The results will provide insights into developing the spinel structure-derived anode for high-performance AEMWE.

Papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC) is a common endocrine malignant tumor. The incidence of PTC has increased in the past decades and presents a younger trend. Accumulating evidence indicates that circular RNAs (circRNAs), featured with non-linear, closed-loop structures, play pivotal roles in tumorigenesis and regulate cell biological processes, such as proliferation, migration, and invasion, by acting as microRNA (miRNA) sponges. Additionally, due to their unique stability, circRNAs hold promising potential as diagnostic biomarkers and effective therapeutic targets for PTC treatment. In this review, we systematically arrange the expression level of circRNAs, related clinical characteristics, circRNA-miRNA-mRNA regulatory network, and molecular mechanisms. Furthermore, related signaling pathways and their potential ability of diagnostic biomarkers and therapeutic targets are discussed, which might provide a new strategy for PTC diagnosis, monitoring, and prognosis.

In this study, we aimed to develop an invasion-related risk signature and prognostic model for personalized treatment and prognosis prediction in skin cutaneous melanoma (SKCM), as invasion plays a crucial role in this disease. We identified 124 differentially expressed invasion-associated genes (DE-IAGs) and selected 20 prognostic genes (TTYH3, NME1, ORC1, PLK1, MYO10, SPINT1, NUPR1, SERPINE2, HLA-DQB2, METTL7B, TIMP1, NOX4, DBI, ARL15, APOBEC3G, ARRB2, DRAM1, RNF213, C14orf28, and CPEB3) using Cox and LASSO regression to establish a risk score. Gene expression was validated through single-cell sequencing, protein expression, and transcriptome analysis. Negative correlations were discovered between risk score, immune score, and stromal score using ESTIMATE and CIBERSORT algorithms. High- and low-risk groups exhibited significant differences in immune cell infiltration and checkpoint molecule expression. The 20 prognostic genes effectively differentiated between SKCM and normal samples (AUCs >0.7). We identified 234 drugs targeting 6 genes from the DGIdb database. Our study provides potential biomarkers and a risk signature for personalized treatment and prognosis prediction in SKCM patients. We developed a nomogram and machine-learning prognostic model to predict 1-, 3-, and 5-year overall survival (OS) using risk signature and clinical factors. The best model, Extra Trees Classifier (AUC = 0.88), was derived from pycaret's comparison of 15 classifiers. The pipeline and app are accessible at https://github.com/EnyuY/IAGs-in-SKCM.

Non-coding RNAs (ncRNAs) are RNAs that do not encode proteins but play important roles in regulating cellular processes. Multiple studies over the past decade have demonstrated the role of microRNAs (miRNAs) in cancer, in which some miRNAs can act as biomarkers or provide therapy target. Accumulating evidence also points to the importance of long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) in regulating miRNA-mRNA networks. An increasing number of ncRNAs have been shown to be involved in the regulation of cellular processes, and dysregulation of ncRNAs often heralds disease. As the population ages, the incidence of neurodegenerative diseases is increasing, placing enormous pressure on global health systems. Given the excellent performance of ncRNAs in early cancer screening and treatment, here we attempted to aggregate and analyze the regulatory functions of ncRNAs in neuronal development and disease. In this review, we summarize current knowledge on ncRNA taxonomy, biogenesis, and function, and discuss current research progress on ncRNAs in relation to neuronal development, differentiation, and neurodegenerative diseases.

Tumor microenvironment (TME) consists of a dynamic network of non-tumoral stromal cells, including cancer-associated fibroblasts, endothelial cells, tumor-associated macrophages (TAMs), B and T cells. In the TME, TAMs support tumor initiation, progression, invasion and metastasis by promoting angiogenesis and immunosuppression of the tumor cells. There is close crosstalk between TAMs and tumor cells. Notably, chemokines are a significant messenger mediating the crosstalk between tumor cells and TAMs. TAMs can promote tumor progression via secretion of chemokines. Various chemokines secreted by tumors are involved in the generation and polarization of TAMs, the infiltration of TAMs in tumors, and the development of TAMs' suppressive function. This paper reviews CCL2-CCR2, CCL3/5-CCR5, CCL15-CCR1, CCL18-CCR8, CX3CL1/CCL26-CX3CR1, CXCL8-CXCR1/2, CXCL12-CXCR4/CXCR7 signaling pathways, their role in the recruitment, polarization and exertion of TAMs, and their correlation with tumor development, metastasis and prognosis. Furthermore, we present the current research progress on modulating the effects of TAMs with chemokine antagonists and discuss the prospects and potential challenges of using chemokine antagonists as therapeutic tools for cancer treatment. The TAMs targeting by chemokine receptor antagonists in combination with chemotherapy drugs, immune checkpoint inhibitors or radiotherapy appears to be a promising approach.

The Guidelines for prevention and treatment of colorectal adenoma with integrated Chinese and western medicine are put forward by Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine and approved by China Association of Chinese Medicine. According to the formulation processes and methods of relevant clinical practice guidelines, the experts in clinical medicine and methodology were organized to discuss the key problems to be addressed in the clinical prevention and treatment of colorectal adenoma(CRA) and provided answers following the evidence-based medicine method, so as to provide guidance for clinical decision-making. CRA is the major precancerous disease of colorectal cancer. Although the prevention and treatment with integrated Chinese and western medicine have been applied to the clinical practice of CRA, there is still a lack of high-quality guidelines. Four basic questions, 15 clinical questions, and 10 outcome indicators were determined by literature research and Delphi questionnaire. The relevant randomized controlled trial(RCT) was retrieved from CNKI, Wanfang, VIP, SinoMed, PubMed, EMbase, Cochrane Library, Web of Science, and 2 clinical trial registries, and finally several RCTs meeting the inclusion criteria were included. The data extracted from the RCT was imported into RevMan 5.3 for evidence synthesis, and the evidence was evaluated based on the Grading of Recommendations, Assessment, Development, and Evaluations(GRADE). The final recommendations were formed by the nominal group method based on the evidence summary table. The guidelines involve the diagnosis, screening, treatment with integrated Chinese and western medicine, prevention, and follow-up of colorectal adenoma, providing options for the clinical prevention and treatment of CRA.

Phosphate (P) deficiency severely limits the growth and production of plants. Adventitious root development plays an essential role in responding to low phosphorus stress for apple plants. However, the molecular mechanisms regulating adventitious root growth and development in response to low phosphorus stress have remained elusive. In this study, a mutation (C-T) in the coding region of the apple AUXIN/INDOLE-3-ACETIC ACID 27 (IAA27) gene was identified. MdIAA27T-overexpressing transgenic apple improved the tolerance to phosphorus deficiency, which grew longer and denser adventitious roots and presented higher phosphorous content than the control plants under low phosphorus conditions, while the overexpression of MdIAA27C displayed the opposite trend. Moreover, the heterologous overexpression of MdIAA27 in tobacco yielded the same results, supporting the aforementioned findings. In vitro and in vivo assays showed that MdIAA27 directly interacted with AUXIN RESPONSE FACTOR (ARF8), ARF26 and ARF27, which regulated Small Auxin-Up RNA 76 (MdSAUR76) and lateral organ boundaries domain 16 (MdLBD16) transcription. The mutation in IAA27 resulted in altered interaction modes, which in turn promoted the release of positive ARFs to upregulate SAUR76 and LBD16 expression in low phosphorus conditions. Altogether, our studies provide insights into how the allelic variation of IAA27 affects adventitious root development in response to low phosphorus stress.

Metastasis is a complex process, which depends on the interaction between tumor cells and host organs. Driven by the primary tumor, the host organ will establish an environment suitable for the growth of tumor cells before their arrival, which is called the pre-metastasis niche. The formation of pre-metastasis niche requires the participation of a variety of cells, in which myeloid-derived suppressor cells play a very important role. They reach the host organ before the tumor cells, and promote the establishment of the pre-metastasis niche by influencing immunosuppression, vascular leakage, extracellular matrix remodeling, angiogenesis and so on. In this article, we introduced the formation of the pre-metastasis niche and discussed the important role of myeloid-derived suppressor cells. In addition, this paper also emphasized the targeting of myeloid-derived suppressor cells as a therapeutic strategy to inhibit the formation of pre-metastasis niche, which provided a research idea for curbing tumor metastasis.
