Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease, which has been rapidly increasing in the world in recent years, is roughly classified into nonalcoholic fatty liver (NAFL) and nonalcoholic steatohepatitis. This study was based on our previous reports that stated that the combination treatment of N1-methylnicotinamide (MNA) and hydralazine (HYD) improves fatty liver in NAFL model rats. This finding was attributed to the MNA metabolism inhibition by HYD, which is a strong inhibitor of aldehyde oxidase (AO); this results in an increase in hepatic MNA and improved fatty liver. We hypothesized that orally administered nicotinamide (NAM), which is the precursor of MNA and is a form of niacin, would be efficiently metabolized by nicotinamide N-methyltransferase in the presence of exogenous S-adenosylmethionine (SAM) in NAFL rats. To address this issue, NAFL model rats were orally administered with NAM, SAM, and/or HYD. As a result, liver triglyceride (TG) and lipid droplet levels were barely altered by the administration of NAM, SAM, NAM+SAM, or NAM+HYD. By contrast, the triple combination of NAM+SAM+HYD significantly reduced hepatic TG and lipid droplet levels and significantly increased hepatic MNA levels. These findings indicated that the combination of exogenous SAM with AO inhibitors, such as HYD, has beneficial effects for improving fatty liver with NAM.

Hypertension is an important risk factor for nonalcoholic steatohepatitis. We have previously demonstrated that hypertensive rats fed a high fat and cholesterol (HFC) diet incurred a more severe hepatic inflammatory response and fibrosis. Here we investigated the role of hypertension in NASH by comparing HFC-induced hepatic fibrogenesis between spontaneously hypertensive rats (SHRs) and their normotensive Wistar Kyoto counterpart. Compared to the counterpart, the HFC diet led to stronger aggregation of CD68-positive macrophages in SHRs. HFC feeding also resulted in significantly higher upregulation of the fibrosis-related gene alpha-smooth muscle actin in SHR. The HFC diet induced higher overexpression of serum tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinase-1 (TIMP1) and greater suppression of matrix metalloproteinase-2 (MMP2):TIMP1, MMP8:TIMP1, and MMP9:TIMP1 ratios, as a proxy of the activities of these MMPs in SHR. Administration of the antihypertensive agent hydralazine to SHRs significantly ameliorated HFC-induced liver fibrosis; it suppressed the aggregation of CD68-positive macrophages and the upregulation of platelet-derived growth factor receptor beta, and collagen, type 1, alpha-1 chain. In conclusion, a hypertensive environment exacerbated the hepatic fibrogenetic effects of the HFC diet; while the effects were partially reversed by the antihypertensive agent hydralazine. Our data suggest that antihypertensive drugs hold promise for treating NASH exacerbated by hypertension.

BACKGROUND: Hydralazine is a common vasodilator which has been used for the treatment of hypertension and heart failure. Hydralazine can induce antineutrophil cytoplasmic antibody-associated vasculitis due to its auto-immunogenic capability and one of the very rare presentations is pulmonary-renal syndrome. CASE PRESENTATION: We report a case of a 64-year-old African American woman, who presented to our emergency room with shortness of breath, orthopnea, paroxysmal nocturnal dyspnea, leg swelling, fatigue, loss of appetite, cough with clear sputum, and lightheadedness. On admission, she developed acute hypoxic respiratory failure requiring intubation and acute renal failure requiring hemodialysis. A serologic workup was positive for antineutrophil cytoplasmic antibody, antinuclear antibody, anti-histone, anti-cardiolipin IgM, and anti-double-stranded DNA antibodies. A renal biopsy was done due to persistent deterioration in kidney function and demonstrated classic crescentic (pauci-immune) glomerulonephritis. Hydralazine was empirically discontinued early in the admission and she was started on corticosteroids and cyclophosphamide following biopsy results. She was clinically stable but remained dependent on hemodialysis after discharge. CONCLUSION: Hydralazine-induced antineutrophil cytoplasmic antibody-associated vasculitis with pulmonary-renal syndrome is a rare occurrence. In the setting of hydralazine use, multiple positive antigens, and multisystem involvement, clinicians should consider this rare condition requiring prompt cessation of offending drug, early evaluation with biopsy, and contemplate empiric immunosuppressive therapy while biopsy confirmation is pending.

Therapeutic activation of mitochondrial function has been suggested as an effective strategy to combat aging. Hydralazine is an FDA-approved drug used in the treatment of hypertension, heart failure and cancer. Hydralazine has been recently shown to promote lifespan in C. elegans, rotifer and yeast through a mechanism which has remained elusive. Here we report cAMP-dependent protein kinase (PKA) as the direct target of hydralazine. Using in vitro and in vivo models, we demonstrate a mechanism in which binding and stabilization of a catalytic subunit of PKA by hydralazine lead to improved mitochondrial function and metabolic homeostasis via the SIRT1/SIRT5 axis, which underlies hydralazine's prolongevity and stress resistance benefits. Hydralazine also protects mitochondrial metabolism and function resulting in restoration of health and lifespan in C. elegans under high glucose and other stress conditions. Our data also provide new insights into the mechanism(s) that explain various other known beneficial effects of hydralazine.

Neonatal hypertension is increasingly recognized as dramatic improvements in neonatal intensive care, advancements in our understanding of neonatal physiology, and implementation of new therapies have led to improved survival of premature infants. A variety of factors appear to be important in determining blood pressure in neonates, including gestational age, birth weight, and postmenstrual age. Normative data on neonatal blood pressure values remain limited. The cause of hypertension in an affected neonate is often identified with careful diagnostic evaluation, with the most common causes being umbilical catheter-associated thrombosis, renal parenchymal disease, and chronic lung disease. Clinical expertise may need to be relied upon to decide the best approach to treatment in such patients, as data on the use of antihypertensive medications in this age group are extremely limited. Available data suggest that long-term outcomes are usually good, with resolution of hypertension in most infants. In this review, we will take a case-based approach to illustrate these concepts and to point out important evidence gaps that need to be addressed so that management of neonatal hypertension may be improved.

Maternal or paternal high fat (HF) diet can modify the epigenome in germ cells and fetal somatic cells leading to an increased susceptibility among female offspring of multiple generations to develop breast cancer. We determined if combined treatment with broad spectrum DNA methyltransferase (DNMT) inhibitor hydralazine and histone deacetylase (HDAC) inhibitor valproic acid (VPA) will reverse this increased risk. C57BL/6 mouse dams were fed either a corn oil-based HF or control diet during pregnancy. Starting at age 7 weeks, female offspring were administered 3 doses of 7,12-dimethylbenz[a]anthracene (DMBA) to initiate mammary cancer. After last dose, offspring started receiving VPA/hydralazine administered via drinking water: no adverse health effects were detected. VPA/hydralazine reduced mammary tumor multiplicity and lengthened tumor latency in HF offspring when compared with non-treated HF offspring. The drug combination inhibited DNMT3a protein levels and increased expression of the tumor suppressor gene Cdkn2a/p16 in mammary tumors of HF offspring. In control mice not exposed to HF diet in utero, VPA/hydralazine increased mammary tumor incidence and burden, and elevated expression of the unfolded protein response and autophagy genes, including HIF-1α, NFkB, PERK, and SQSTM1/p62. Expression of these genes was already upregulated in HF offspring prior to VPA/hydralazine treatment. These findings suggest that breast cancer prevention strategies with HDAC/DNMT inhibitors need to be individually tailored.

Although anticancer systemic therapy agents clearly lead to improved survival in patients with cancer, these can come at the cost of serious complications including cardiotoxicity. Two types of targeted systemic therapies currently in use for colorectal cancer (CRC) and renal cell cancer (RCC), respectively, include the vascular endothelial growth factor inhibitor bevacizumab (BVZ) and the tyrosine kinase inhibitor sunitinib (SNT). Despite the beneficial effects of BVZ and SNT in improving clinical outcomes in the settings of CRC and RCC, there is an increased risk of cardiac dysfunction. The aim of the present study was to determine whether prophylactic administration of renin-angiotensin system (RAS) inhibitors would attenuate the cardiotoxic side effects of BVZ or SNT in a chronic in vivo murine model. A total of 194 wild-type C57Bl/6 male mice received: 1) 0.9% saline, 2) BVZ (10 mg·kg-1·wk-1), or 3) SNT (40 mg·kg-1·day-1) for 4 wk. Within each arm, mice received daily prophylactic treatment with hydralazine (0.05 mg/ml), aliskiren (50 mg/kg), perindopril (4 mg/kg), or valsartan (2 mg/kg). Although hydralazine effectively lowered blood pressure in BVZ- or SNT-treated mice, it did not prevent left ventricular systolic dysfunction. Prophylactic administration of aliskiren, perindopril, or valsartan prevented adverse cardiovascular remodeling in mice treated with either BVZ or SNT. The addition of RAS antagonists also downregulated expression of phosphorylated p38 and Bcl-2-like 19-kDa interacting protein 3 in SNT-treated mice. In our chronic in vivo murine model, RAS antagonists partially attenuated the development of BVZ- or SNT-mediated cardiac dysfunction. Future clinical studies are warranted to investigate the cardioprotective effects of prophylactic treatment with RAS inhibitors in the settings of CRC and RCC. NEW & NOTEWORTHY In the evolving field of cardio-oncology, bevacizumab and sunitinib improve clinical outcomes in the settings of metastatic colorectal cancer and renal cell cancer, respectively. These anticancer drugs, however, are associated with an increased risk of cardiotoxicity. The prophylactic administration of renin-angiotensin system antagonists is partially cardioprotective against bevacizumab- and sunitinib-mediated cardiac dysfunction.

Hypertension causes vascular complications, such as stroke, cardiovascular disease, and chronic kidney disease (CKD). The relationship between endothelial dysfunction and progression of kidney disease is well known. However, the relationship between the eNOS-NO pathway and chronic inflammation, which is a common pathway for the progression of kidney disease, remains unexplored. We performed in vivo experiments to determine the role of the eNOS-NO pathway by using eNOS-deficient mice in a hypertensive kidney disease model. All mice were unilateral nephrectomized (Nx). One week after Nx, the mice were randomly divided into two groups: the aldosterone infusion groups and the vehicle groups. All mice also received a 1% NaCl solution instead of drinking water. The aldosterone infusion groups were treated with hydralazine to correct blood pressure differences. After four weeks of drug administration, all mice were euthanized, and blood and kidney tissue samples were collected. In the results, NLRP3 inflammasome activation was elevated in the kidneys of the eNOS-deficient mice, and tubulointerstitial fibrosis was accelerated. Suppression of inflammasome activation by knocking out ASC prevented tubulointerstitial injury in the eNOS knockout mice, indicating that the eNOS-NO pathway is involved in the development of kidney dysfunction through acceleration of NLRP3 inflammasome in macrophages. We revealed that endothelial function, particularly the eNOS-NO pathway, attenuates the progression of renal tubulointerstitial injury via suppression of inflammasome activation. Clinically, patients who develop vascular endothelial dysfunction have lifestyle diseases, such as hypertension or diabetes, and are known to be at risk for CKD. Our study suggests that the eNOS-NO pathway could be a therapeutic target for the treatment of chronic kidney disease associated with endothelial dysfunction.

The hypomethylating agents azacytidine and decitabine are unaffordable for many patients with MDS. The combination of the DNA methyltransferase inhibitor hydralazine and the histone deacetylase inhibitor valproate has shown preliminary efficacy in MDS. The aim of this study is to evaluate the clinical efficacy and safety of hydralazine/valproate in a case series of MDS patients treated in a compassionate manner. Hydralazine was dosed according to the acetylation genotype of patients (slow acetylators 83 mg daily; fast acetylators 182 mg daily), and valproate was dosed at 30 mg/kg/day. Both drugs were given daily until disease progression. Response and toxicity were evaluated with the International Working Group criteria and CTCAE, version 4, respectively. Survival parameters were estimated with the Kaplan-Meier method. From 2009 to 2012, 14 patients were treated. The median age ± SD was 55.2 ± 19.52 (range 23-87) years. According to the IPSS, cases were graded as intermediate-1 (n = 8/14; 57.2%) or intermediate-2 (n = 6/14; 42.8%). Responses were as follows: five (35.7%) complete response, one (7.1%) partial response, and two (14.28%) became transfusion independent. The mean duration of response ± SD was 60 ± 35.28 months (range 5-94). Three patients progressed to AML. At a median follow-up of 57 months (range 1-106), the median OS was 27 months. At that point, five patients remained on the treatment, one with partial response and four with complete response. The median OS was not reached in the eight patients who saw a clinical benefit from the treatment, in comparison to an OS of 7 months in the six patients who had no treatment. The combination of hydralazine and valproate is safe and effective in MDS, and its further testing is highly desirable.

OBJECTIVES: To evaluate the activity and safety of hydralazine and valproate (Transkrip) in cutaneous T-cell lymphoma (CTCL). METHODS: Previously untreated and progressive/refractory CTCL patients received hydralazine at 83 mg or 182 mg/day for slow and rapid acetylators respectively plus magnesium valproate at a total dose of 30 mg/Kg t.i.d daily in continuous 28-day cycles in this phase II study. The primary objective was overall response rate (ORR) measured by the modified severity weighted assessment tool (m-SWAT), secondary end-points were time to response (TTR), time to progression (TTP), duration of response (DOR), progression-free survival (PFS), overall survival (OS) and safety. RESULTS: Fourteen patients were enrolled (7 untreated and 7 pretreated). ORR was 71% with 50% complete and 21% partial. Two had stable disease and two progressed. At a median follow-up of 36 months (5-52), median TTR was 2 months (1-4); median DOR was 28 months (5-45); median PFS 36 and not reached for OS. There were no differences in median TTR, DOR, and PFS between treated and pretreated patients. Pruritus relieve was complete in 13 out of 14 patients. No grade 3 or 4 toxicities were observed. CONCLUSION: The combination of hydralazine and valproate is safe, very well tolerated and effective in CTCL.

Acute kidney injury (AKI) and progressive chronic kidney disease (CKD) are intrinsically tied syndromes. In this regard, the acutely injured kidney often does not achieve its full regenerative capacity and AKI directly transitions into progressive CKD associated with tubulointerstitial fibrosis. Underlying mechanisms of such AKI-to-CKD progression are still incompletely understood and specific therapeutic interventions are still elusive. Because epigenetic modifications play a role in maintaining tissue fibrosis, we used a murine model of ischemia-reperfusion injury to determine whether aberrant promoter methylation of RASAL1 contributes causally to the switch between physiological regeneration and tubulointerstitial fibrogenesis, a hallmark of AKI-to-CKD progression. It is known that the antihypertensive drug hydralazine has demethylating activity, and that its optimum demethylating activity occurs at concentrations below blood pressure-lowering doses. Administration of low-dose hydralazine effectively induced expression of hydroxylase TET3, which catalyzed RASAL1 hydroxymethylation and subsequent RASAL1 promoter demethylation. Hydralazine-induced CpG promoter demethylation subsequently attenuated renal fibrosis and preserved excretory renal function independent of its blood pressure-lowering effects. In comparison, RASAL1 demethylation and inhibition of tubulointerstitial fibrosis was not detected upon administration of the angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitor Ramipril in this model. Thus, RASAL1 promoter methylation and subsequent transcriptional RASAL1 suppression plays a causal role in AKI-to-CKD progression.

Background: Responses to endocrine therapies vary among patients with estrogen receptor (ER+) breast cancer. We studied whether in utero exposure to endocrine-disrupting compounds might explain these variations. Methods: We describe a novel ER+ breast cancer model to study de novo and acquired tamoxifen (TAM) resistance. Pregnant Sprague Dawley rats were exposed to 0 or 0.1 ppm ethinyl estradiol (EE2), and the response of 9,12-dimethylbenz[a]anthracene (DMBA)-induced mammary tumors to 15 mg/kg TAM, with (n = 17 tumors in the controls and n = 20 tumors in EE2 offspring) or without 1.2 g/kg valproic acid and 5 mg/kg hydralazine (n = 24 tumors in the controls and n = 32 tumors in EE2 offspring) in the female offspring, was assessed. One-sided Chi2 tests were used to calculate P values. Comparisons of differentially expressed genes between mammary tumors in in utero EE2-exposed and control rats, and between anti-estrogen-resistant LCC9 and -sensitive LCC1 human breast cancer cells, were also performed. Results: In our preclinical model, 54.2% of mammary tumors in the control rats exhibited a complete response to TAM, of which 23.1% acquired resistance with continued anti-estrogen treatment and recurred. Mammary tumors in the EE2 offspring were statistically significantly less likely to respond to TAM (P = .047) and recur (P = .007). In the EE2 offspring, but not in controls, adding valproic acid and hydralazine to TAM prevented recurrence (P < .001). Three downregulated and hypermethylated genes (KLF4, LGALS3, MICB) and one upregulated gene (ETV4) were identified in EE2 tumors and LCC9 breast cancer cells, and valproic acid and hydralazine normalized the altered expression of all four genes. Conclusions: Resistance to TAM may be preprogrammed by in utero exposure to high estrogen levels and mediated through reversible epigenetic alterations in genes associated with epithelial-mesenchymal transition and tumor immune responses.

The renin-angiotensin system (RAS) plays pathogenic roles in renal and cardiovascular disorders, but whether it is involved in colitis is unclear. Here we show that RenTgMK mice that overexpress active renin from the liver developed more severe colitis than wild-type controls. More than 50% RenTgMK mice died whereas all wild-type mice recovered. RenTgMK mice exhibited more robust mucosal TH17 and TH1/TH17 responses and more profound colonic epithelial cell apoptosis compared to wild-type controls. Treatment with aliskiren (a renin inhibitor), but not hydralazine (a smooth muscle relaxant), ameliorated colitis in RenTgMK mice, although both drugs normalized blood pressure. Chronic infusion of angiotensin II into wild-type mice mimicked the severe colitic phenotype of RenTgMK mice, and treatment with losartan [an angiotensin type 1 receptor blocker (ARB)] ameliorated colitis in wild-type mice, confirming a colitogenic role for the endogenous RAS. In human biopsies, pro-inflammatory cytokines were suppressed in patients with inflammatory bowel disease who were on ARB therapy compared to patients not receiving ARB therapy. These observations demonstrate that activation of the RAS promotes colitis in a blood pressure independent manner. Angiotensin II appears to drive colonic mucosal inflammation by promoting intestinal epithelial cell apoptosis and mucosal TH17 responses in colitis development.

OBJECTIVES: To explore the efficacy and safety of intravenous (IV) hydralazine in hospitalized children with hypertension. STUDY DESIGN: Data were retrospectively collected on hospitalized children treated with IV hydralazine. Percent changes in blood pressure (BP) were calculated, and linear regression was used to investigate associations between BP change and pertinent clinical and demographic variables. Bivariate logistic regression was used to investigate associations between the same covariates and the outcomes of ideal clinical response (ICR), a 10%-25% reduction in mean arterial pressure (MAP), and excess response (ER), a 25% reduction in MAP. RESULTS: A total of 141 initial doses of IV hydralazine (median dose, 0.10 mg/kg [IQR, 0.09-0.11; range, 0.02-0.37]) were analyzed. Median age was 8 years (IQR, 2-15; range, 0-24); most patients had renal disease, malignancy, or were organ transplant recipients. The mean MAP reduction was 19% ± 12%. An ICR occurred in 66 patients (47%). Higher initial MAP and increased hydralazine dose were associated with greater percentage decrease in MAP. No association was found between ICR and the covariates of interest; higher initial MAP was associated with greater odds of ICR. ER occurred in 44 children (31%). Among this group, higher initial MAP and higher hydralazine dose were associated with increased odds of ER, and administration of other antihypertensive drugs was associated with decreased odds of ER. Four adverse effects possibly related to IV hydralazine, including 2 episodes of hypotension, were recorded. CONCLUSIONS: IV hydralazine reduced BP in the majority of children. However, a substantial proportion of children experienced potentially excessive BP reduction.

Hydralazine is a commonly used oral antihypertensive agent. We report a rare case of hydralazine-induced hepatotoxicity in the form of subacute hepatic necrosis. A 75-year-old African American woman presented with jaundice of 7-day duration. She was started on hydralazine 100 mg 3 times a day 10 weeks before presentation. On physical examination, scleral icterus was noted. Workup revealed elevated liver transaminases, alkaline phosphatase, and conjugated bilirubin. She had no history of liver disease, and liver function tests had been normal before starting hydralazine. Other etiologies, including viruses, common toxins, drugs, autoimmune, and copper-induced hepatitis, were excluded. Abdominal imaging studies did not show any evidence of intrahepatic or extrahepatic biliary ductal dilatation, and no pathologies were seen in the liver and pancreas. The patient's liver biopsy revealed extensive lobular hepatitis, significant necrosis, mixed inflammatory infiltrate, and no significant fibrosis, supporting a diagnosis of drug-induced liver injury. Hydralazine was immediately discontinued. She showed improvement of clinical and laboratory abnormalities within 5 days after discontinuation of hydralazine. To establish the diagnosis of hydralazine-induced liver injury, we used assessment tool outlined by the Council for International Organization of Medical Sciences (CIOMS) scale that led to "high probable" relationship. Although rare, clinically significant, and potentially life-threatening liver injury can result from use of hydralazine. Both clinical and histological presentations in our patient suggest acute liver injury. The hydralazine-induced hepatitis seems to be reversible as discontinuation of the drug improves clinical outcomes. We highly recommend monitoring of the liver function during hydralazine treatment.

Calcium channel blockers (CCBs) are prescribed to patients with Marfan syndrome for prophylaxis against aortic aneurysm progression, despite limited evidence for their efficacy and safety in the disorder. Unexpectedly, Marfan mice treated with CCBs show accelerated aneurysm expansion, rupture, and premature lethality. This effect is both extracellular signal-regulated kinase (ERK1/2) dependent and angiotensin-II type 1 receptor (AT1R) dependent. We have identified protein kinase C beta (PKCß) as a critical mediator of this pathway and demonstrate that the PKCß inhibitor enzastaurin, and the clinically available anti-hypertensive agent hydralazine, both normalize aortic growth in Marfan mice, in association with reduced PKCß and ERK1/2 activation. Furthermore, patients with Marfan syndrome and other forms of inherited thoracic aortic aneurysm taking CCBs display increased risk of aortic dissection and need for aortic surgery, compared to patients on other antihypertensive agents.

OBJECTIVE: Aliskiren is a direct renin inhibitor which is suggested to modify proangiogenic cells in addition to lower blood pressure. Given that angiogenesis is impaired in the presence of diabetes mellitus, we would like to investigate whether and how aliskiren enhances endothelial progenitor cells (EPCs) and improves ischemic-induced neovasculogenesis by an effect independent of blood pressure reduction in diabetic animals. METHODS: Streptozotocin-induced diabetic mice were administered with either aliskiren (5 or 25 mg/kg/day) using an osmotic pump or hydralazine (2 or 10 mg/kg/day) given in drinking water for two weeks prior to a hind-limb ischemia surgery. Laser Doppler imaging and flow cytometry were used to evaluate the degree of neovasculogenesis and the circulating levels of EPCs, respectively. RESULTS: In streptozotocin-induced diabetic mice, aliskiren enhanced the recovery of limb perfusion and capillary density, increased the number of circulating Sca-1+/Flk-1+ EPC-like cells, and elevated the levels of the plasma vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and stromal cell-derived factor (SDF)-1α in a dose-dependent manner, whereas there were no such effects in hydralazine-treated mice. Intraperitoneal administration of anti-SDF-1 neutralizing monoclonal antibodies abolished the effects of aliskiren. CONCLUSIONS: Independent of the reduction of blood pressure, aliskiren enhanced ischemia-induced neovasculogenesis in a dose-dependent manner via VEGF/SDF-1α related mechanisms in diabetic mice.

INTRODUCTION: DNA methylation (DNMTi) and histone deacetylase inhibitors (HDACi) are in development for cancer therapy. So far, four epigenetic drugs are approved for myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) and cutaneous T-cell lymphoma (CTCL). The combination of hydralazine-valproate (TRANSKRIP(™)) is being repositioned as an oral DNMT and HDAC inhibitor. AREAS COVERED: Brief discussion on the current status of epigenetic drugs and studies published on the preclinical and clinical development of the hydralazine-valproate combination. EXPERT OPINION: Drug repositioning is a strategy for prompt and cost-efficient drug discovery. There is evidence that combining DNMTi with HDACi would be more efficacious than administering each agent on its own. Hydralazine-valproate is safe when used alone or in combination with chemotherapy or chemoradiation. The fact that both drugs are orally administered is another advantage over current epigenetic drugs. This combination is promising but larger studies are needed. Among these, the randomized Phase III trials in advanced and in locally advanced cervical cancer combined with chemotherapy and cisplatin-radiation respectively, would eventually confirm its efficacy. Studies on MDS and CTCL would also eventually prove the efficacy of hydralazine valproate so that in the coming years hydralazine-valproate could have a role in cancer epigenetic therapy.
