RESUMO

O presente estudo teve como objetivo avaliar e desenvolver uma nova tecnologia para agricultura familiar, que integre a olericultura com a criação de pintados em tanques elevados de geomembrana com recirculação de água. Para tanto, foram distribuídos aleatoriamente 240 peixes com peso médio de 10,67g em um tanque de geomembrana com capacidade de 30 m3 de água. A qualidade da água foi monitorada analisando as variáveis temperatura da água por meio de um termômetro, oxigênio dissolvido, pH, alcalinidade, nitrito e amônia por meio de kits colorimétricos. O arraçoamento foi realizado duas vezes ao dia às 07h00min e 19h00min com ração extrusada contendo 32% de proteína bruta, durante um período de 204 dias. Mensalmente foram realizadas biometrias para corrigir o arraçoamento, analisar o peso total médio, comprimento total médio, ganho de peso e conversão alimentar. A qualidade da água durante o período experimental não apresentou níveis críticos para a produção dos peixes e no final dos 204 dias de criação os peixes apresentaram peso final médio de 719,4g, comprimento final médio de 48,5cm, ganho de peso final médio de 708,5g e conversão alimentar média de 1,59. Quanto à produtividade das olerícolas, constatou-se que a água do efluente do sistema de criação forneceu quantidades adequadas de nutrientes necessários ao desenvolvimento das plantas. Os resultados indicam que o pintado tem potencial para ser criado em tanques elevados de geomembrana com sistema de recirculação de água e o efluente do sistema pode ser utilizado como uma alternativa para a produção integrada de peixes e olerícolas.(AU)


The present study aimed to evaluate and develop a new technology for family farming, which integrates vegetable farming with the creation of guinea fowl in elevated geomembrane tanks with water recirculation. To this end, 240 fish with an average weight of 10.67g were randomly distributed in a geomembrane tank with a capacity of 30 m3 of water. Water quality was monitored by analyzing the variables water temperature using a thermometer, dissolved oxygen, pH, alkalinity, nitrite and ammonia using colorimetric kits. Feeding was carried out twice a day at 7:00 am and 7:00 pm with extruded feed containing 32% crude protein, over a period of 204 days. Biometrics were carried out monthly to correct the diet, analyze the average total weight, average total length, weight gain and feed conversion. The water quality during the experimental period did not present critical levels for fish production and at the end of the 204 days of creation the fish had an average final weight of 719.4g, average final length of 48.5cm, average final weight gain of 708.5g and average feed conversion of 1.59. Regarding the productivity of the olerícolas, it was found that the effluent water of the rearing system provided adequate amounts of nutrients necessary for the development of the plants. The results indicate that the pintado has the potential to be created in elevated geomembrane tanks with water recirculation system and the effluent of the system can be used as an alternative for the integrated production of fish and olerícolas.(AU)


El presente estudio tuvo como objetivo evaluar y desarrollar una nueva tecnología para la agricultura familiar, que integra la olericultura con la creación de pintados en tanques elevados de geomembrana con recirculación de agua. Con este fin, 240 peces con un peso promedio de 10.67g se distribuyeron aleatoriamente en un tanque de geomembrana con una capacidad de 30 m3 de agua. La calidad del agua fue monitoreada mediante el análisis de las variables temperatura del agua por medio de un termómetro, oxígeno disuelto, pH, alcalinidad, nitrito y amoníaco por medio de kits colorimétricos. La alimentación se realizó dos veces al día a las 07:00 y 19:00 con alimento extruido que contenía 32% de proteína cruda, durante un período de 204 días. La biometría se realizó mensualmente para corregir la alimentación, analizar el peso total promedio, la longitud total media, el aumento de peso y la conversión alimenticia. La calidad del agua durante el período experimental no presentó niveles críticos para la producción de peces y al final de los 204 días de cría los peces presentaron un peso final promedio de 719.4g, una longitud final promedio de 48.5cm, una ganancia de peso final promedio de 708.5g y una conversión alimenticia promedio de 1.59. En cuanto a la productividad de las olerícolas, se encontró que el agua efluente del sistema de cría proporcionó cantidades adecuadas de nutrientes necesarios para el desarrollo de las plantas. Los resultados indican que el pintado tiene el potencial de ser creado en tanques elevados de geomembrana con sistema de recirculación de agua y el efluente del sistema puede ser utilizado como una alternativa para la producción integrada de peces y olerícolas.(AU)

The future of intraocular lens (IOL) technology has already begun with a number of recent innovations. The postoperative change of refractive power will lead to a customized fine-tuning that provides patients with the individual vision they expect and with as much spectacle independence as possible. The latest-generation (2.0) Light-Adjustable Lens (RxSight) was recently introduced into clinical practice, with the first results being very encouraging. Other methods of altering the power of an already implanted IOL are under development. The same can be said about the correction of presbyopia, the so-called last frontier in refractive surgery. Extended depth-of-focus IOLs have been introduced, as has the technology of the pinhole IOL. The latter has therapeutic potential beyond the refractive aspect and has already proven helpful in cases of iris defects and irregular corneas. Several technologies are currently being tested to achieve-finally-an accommodative IOL. One such concept uses the (remaining) strength of the ciliary muscle, whereas another is triggered by the pupil reaction when shifting focus from far to near. Not an IOL itself, but rather a high-tech innovation that so far has mostly been implanted during cataract surgery, is a microelectronic sensor that measures habitual intraocular pressure (IOP) at any given time and promises to revolutionize the management of glaucoma patients. The last generation of this device (Eyemate; Implandata Opthalmics Products GmbH) is implanted during small-incision cataract surgery; the latest development is an even smaller sensor that will be inserted suprachoroidally before, in the near future, such a device will be part of a capsular ring. These IOP sensors are a prime example that IOL technology will continue to be a driving force in ophthalmology, with a positive impact far beyond cataract surgery.

Mobile devices are increasingly part of daily life, with the benefits of using the technology in nursing education widely recognized. This study explored the use of mobile devices among undergraduate nursing students for academic purposes in South Africa, using a quantitative survey. The majority of participants owned smartphones (87.6%), followed by laptops (76%) and tablets (47.1%). Mobile devices were used to perform academic tasks and communicate and collaborate with peers and teachers, as well as search and access electronic resources. Few of the first year nursing students owned laptops and tablets and used them less frequently than the students from other levels of the study. Equipping nursing students with mobile devices, such as laptops and tablets, particularly first year students, and ensuring that they have adequate skills to use them, is essential to training future nurses who are expected to work in a technology-mediated health environment.

ABSTRACT The development of tracking technology caused a exponentially grow-up of research into this topic. The use of standardized methodologies is useful to contrast data of different studies. On the other hand, a low-cost reference system is needed. For this reason, the main aim of the present research is the description of a specific protocol to accuracy assessment of tracking location in indoor conditions in basketball. It can resume in three steps with detailed and easily procedures in the method section. The accuracy analysis method presented can report the centimeter of accuracy in each coordinate that the tracking system measure. A standardized protocol to evaluate the location on indoor conditions in basketball will provide to the sport science professionals a useful tool to analyze the accuracy and reliability of all tracking system, being the results can compare both within and between-court.


RESUMO O desenvolvimento da tecnologia de rastreamento causou um crescimento exponencial das pesquisas sobre esse tópico. O uso de metodologias padronizadas é útil para contrastar dados de diferentes estudos. Por outro lado, é necessário um sistema de referência de baixo custo. Por este motivo, o principal objetivo da presente pesquisa é a descrição de um protocolo específico para avaliação da acurácia do rastreamento de localização em condições internas no basquete. Pode retomar em três etapas com procedimentos detalhados e fáceis na seção do método. O método de análise de precisão apresentado pode relatar o centímetro de precisão em cada coordenada medida pelo sistema de rastreamento. Um protocolo padronizado para avaliar a localização em condições internas no basquetebol fornecerá aos profissionais de ciências do esporte uma ferramenta útil para analisar a precisão e a confiabilidade de todo o sistema de rastreamento, sendo que os resultados podem ser comparados dentro e entre as quadras.

Technology is deeply embedded in daily life; thus, more pregnant women seek information through the Internet and incorporate the use of technological devices during their pregnancies. This systematic review aimed to examine to what extent and how technology-supported interventions were developed and delivered to pregnant women, as well as intervention effects on the targeted outcomes. Electronic data were collected from MEDLINE, CINAHL, and Scopus. Among the 11 selected studies, most were pilot studies to test the feasibility, acceptability, or preliminary effects of technology-supported interventions. The studies included both women with healthy pregnancies and pregnancies complicated by factors including preterm labor, smoking, and alcohol abuse. Most were conducted in the US, and most participants were white or African American. Interventions were primarily developed by research teams and focused on mental health issues including depression, anxiety, and stress. Interventions incorporated the use of technology including computers, mobile phones, and audiovisual aids. The overall interventions were reported to be feasible, acceptable, and beneficial in all the selected studies. Based on the review of literature, suggestions were provided for future research including the need for careful selection of intervention topics and objectives to target women who can benefit more from technology-supported interventions.

Hasta ahora las herramientas diagnósticas de los trastornos del espectro autista (TEA) se basan mayoritariamente en criterios cualitativos de información observacional en contextos con baja validez ecológica. Una creciente actividad científica propone medidas implícitas para la evaluación y diagnóstico del TEA. Dichas medidas se basan en procesos de carácter biológico e inconsciente, subyacentes a la capacidad de cognición humana y son obtenidas a través de la adquisición y tratamiento de respuestas cerebrales, fisiológicas y comportamentales, con el objetivo de obtener la estructura comportamental del paciente TEA ante un estímulo. La compleja relación existente entre respuestas fisiológicas y la estructura comportamental del paciente TEA ante un estímulo, obliga a utilizar técnicas avanzadas de tratamiento de la señal basadas en computación cognitiva. Las técnicas de inteligencia artificial, tales como aprendizaje automático (machine learning) y neurocomputación aplicadas al análisis de señales psicofisiológicas, han demostra do su robustez para la clasificación de complejos constructos cognitivos. La realidad virtual (RV) es una herramienta que permite recrear situaciones de la vida real con una alta fidelidad sensorial, pero al mismo tiempo controlar individualmente cada una de las situaciones y estímulos que influyen en el comportamiento humano. También permite la medición en tiempo real de las reacciones humanas ante tales estímulos. Este documento analiza los últimos avances científicos y tecnológicos relevantes para sus aplicaciones en el diagnóstico del TEA. Afirmamos que la RV es una herramienta muy valiosa para la investigación del TEA, especialmente para la evaluación y diagnóstico de habilidades y competencias complejas.


To date, the diagnostic tools for autism spectrum disorder (ASD) have been mostly based on qualitative criteria from observational information in contexts with low ecological validity. We are witnessing a growing scientific activity that proposes the use of implicit measures for the evaluation and diagnosis of ASD. These measures are based on processes of a biological and unconscious nature, underlying the capacity of human cognition, and are obtained through the acquisition and treatment of brain, physiological and behavioral responses in order to obtain the behavioral structure of the ASD patient facing a stimulus. The complex relationship between physiological responses and the behavioral structure of the ASD patient requires the use of advanced techniques of signal processing based on cognitive computation. Artificial intelligence (AI) techniques, such as machine learning and neurocomputing applied to the analysis of psychophysiological signals, have demonstrated their robustness for the classification of complex cognitive constructs. Virtual reality (VR) is a tool that allows recreating real-life situations with high sensory fidelity, but at the same time individually controlling each of the situations and stimuli that influence human behavior. It also allows the measurement in real time of human reactions to such stimuli. This document analyzes the latest scientific and technological advances relevant to its applications in the diagnosis of ASD. We conclude that VR is a very valuable tool for ASD research, especially for the evaluation and diagnosis of complex skills and competencies.

Along with the development of society and the change of disease spectrum, chronic wound is gradually becoming the core of burn and plastic surgery field. Although there have been some progresses in the diagnosis and treatment technology, the management strategy of chronic wound is still in the traditional mode stage. The development of internet of things, cloud computing, big data, artificial intelligence, and other emerging technologies is changing with each passing day, and they have rapidly penetrated into the health care field. To explore the application prospect of emerging technology in the diagnosis and treatment management of chronic wound and to plan its strategy and mode in the diagnosis and treatment of chronic wound can further promote development of discipline of burns.

With the development of the times, a series of innovative intelligent diagnosis and treatment techniques have emerged, providing new strategies and means for disease diagnosis and treatment, which is helpful for promoting the development of general surgery in China. This article, combined with relevant literature at home and abroad, reviews the application of digital medical intelligent diagnosis and treatment technologies in general surgery,such as three-dimensional visualization,three-dimentional printing, mixed reality, molecular fluorescence imaging, artificial intelligence-imaging omics, abdominal surgery navigation and photoacoustic imaging. Three-dimentional visualization has changed the traditional "two-dimensional" disease diagnosis and treatment mode; three-dimentional printing of three-dimentional images is a leap-forward transition to stereoscopic physical models; mixed reality has broken the boundary between the digital virtual world and the physical real world, bringing technological innovation to traditional surgery; Indocyanine green molecular fluorescence imaging has achieved tumor boundary definition, micro or metastatic lesion detection and intraoperative real-time navigation at the molecular and cellular level; artificial intelligence-imaging omics can improve the accuracy of disease diagnosis and predict risk and efficacy; abdominal surgical navigation can improve the accuracy and safety of the operation; high precision-cross-scale photoacoustic microscopy can define the tumor boundary from the molecular, cellular and microvascular levels to guide the precise resection of the tumor; finally, this paper looks forward to the new direction of general surgery diagnosis and treatment represented by digital medicine and artificial intelligence.

ABSTRACT Objective: to develop the gerontological nursing care process among the elderly with Parkinson's disease, aiming at the promotion of health through the creation of gerontotechnologies for fall prevention. Method: Convergent Care Research was used as a methodological route. Data were collected from February to October 2017, with the participation of nine elderly people with Parkinson's disease. An educational booklet, a memory game called "não cai istepô", a memory game called "caiu de maduro" were developed through clinical evaluation through scales, recorded semi-structured interview and workshops. Results: the application of gerontotechnology resulted from the elderly in self-care, empowerment and knowledge through play, revealing interest in behavior change, independence and learning, as well as serving as a facilitator of care. Conclusion: the gerontotechnologies presented as a playful and innovative instrument for the nursing gerontological care process.


RESUMEN Objetivo: desarrollar proceso de cuidado gerontológico de enfermería junto a los ancianos con Enfermedad de Parkinson visando la promoción de la salud, a través de la creación de gerontotecnologías para prevención de caídas. Método: se utilizó como trayecto metodológico la Investigación Convergente Asistencial. La recolección de datos ocurrió de los meses de febrero a octubre de 2017, contó con la participación de nueve ancianos con la Enfermedad de Parkinson. Las gerontotecnologias: cartilla educativa, juego de la memoria: "não cai istepô" y "caiu de maduro" fueron desarrolladas mediante evaluación clínica a través de escalas, entrevista semiestructurada grabada y talleres. Resultados: la aplicación de la gerontotecnología resultó por parte de los ancianos en: autocuidado; empoderamiento y conocimiento, revelando interés en cambio de conducta, independencia y aprendizaje, además de servir como instrumento facilitador del cuidado. Conclusión: las gerontotecnologías se presentaron como instrumento lúdico e innovador para el proceso de cuidado gerontológico de enfermeira.

Método: utilizou-se como trajeto metodológico a Pesquisa Convergente Assistencial. A coleta de dados ocorreu de fevereiro a outubro de 2017, e contou com a participação de nove idosos com a doença de Parkinson. As gerontotecnologias: cartilha educativa, jogo da memória: não cai istepô; jogo da memória: caiu de maduro foram desenvolvidas mediante avaliação clínica através de escalas, entrevista semiestruturada gravada e oficinas. Resultados: a aplicação da gerontotecnologia resultou por parte dos idosos em autocuidado, empoderamento e conhecimento através do jogo, revelando interesse em mudança de conduta, independência e aprendizagem, além de servir como instrumento facilitador do cuidado. Conclusão: as gerontotecnologias apresentaram-se como instrumento lúdico e inovador para o processo de cuidado gerontológico de enfermagem.

Objetivo relatar a vivência de discentes, docentes e monitores na utilização de diferentes tecnologias educativas durante ensino teórico-prático de semiologia e semiotécnica de enfermagem. Método relato de prática de ensino de 2 monitores, 2 docentes e 187 alunos de um curso de graduação em enfermagem de Vitória, Espírito Santo, realizado de 2015 a 2017, com reflexões sustentadas no referencial teórico de Merhy. Resultados o ensino foi mediado por tecnologias leves associadas às leve-duras e duras, buscando-se o desenvolvimento de competências que pudessem aprimorar a produção de conhecimentos e que possam futuramente ser aplicadas na prática profissional, tendo como horizonte um cuidado de enfermagem humanizado e não restrito ao tecnicismo. Conclusão a práxis pedagógica relatada favoreceu ao desenvolvimento de competências relacionais e manuais, à autonomia discente e ao pensamento crítico-reflexivo, necessários à articulação teórico-prática, à tomada de decisão clínica e a novos modos de se produzir cuidado em enfermagem.

Conclusión lapraxis pedagógica relatada favoreció el desarrollo de competencias relacionales y manuales, la autonomía de los estudiantes y el pensamiento crítico y reflexivo, necesarios para la vinculación teórico-práctica, la toma de decisiones clínicas y las nuevas formas de producción de los cuidados de enfermería.


Objective to report the experience of students, professors and professor's assistants (PA) when using different educational technologies during theoretical-practical teaching of nursing semiology and semiotechnique. Method report of teaching practice of 2 PA, 2 professors and 187 students from a Nursing graduate course in Vitória, Espírito Santo, conducted from 2015 to 2017, with reflections based on Merhy's theory. Results the teaching was mediated by soft technologies associated to soft-hard ones, seeking the development of skills that could enhance knowledge production, and, in the future, be applied in professional practice, having as horizon a humanized nursing care, not restricted to techniques. Conclusion the reported pedagogical praxis favored the development of relational and manual competences, the student's autonomy and critical and reflective thinking, necessary the theoretical-practical articulation, clinical decision-making and new ways of producing nursing care.

The objective of the study is to analyze the long-run, causal, and inter-temporal relationships between food-beverage-tobacco consumption, smoking prevalence in male and females, and high-technology exports and their resulting impact on global healthcare sustainability agenda in a panel of 19 European, North American, and Asian countries during a period of 1990-2016. The results show that the sample countries are largely affected by high mass consumption of food, beverages, and tobacco, due to which the health spending is very high in their economies that increase healthcare costs and mortality rates accordingly. The relationship between death rate and per capita income is found negative in a panel of selected countries, where high death rates substantially decrease country's per capita income. The Granger causality estimates confirm the unidirectional causality running from (i) high-technology exports to CO2 emissions, (ii) smoking prevalence of male and female to health expenditures, (iii) industrial value added to mortality, (iv) health expenditures to per capita income, (v) per capita income to death rates, and (vi) food, beverages, and tobacco consumption to mortality indicators, whereas, the inter-temporal causation confirmed that lifetime risk of maternal death will largely influence health expenditures in a panel of selected countries for the next 10-year time period.

RESUMO

Digital medical technology is a powerful tool which has forcefully promoted the development of general surgery in China. In this article, we reviews the application status of three-dimensional visualization and three-dimensional printing technology in general surgery, introduces the development situation of surgical navigation guided by optical and electromagnetic technology and preliminary attempt to combined with mixed reality applied to complicated hepatectomy, looks ahead the development direction of digital medicine in the era of artificial intelligence and big data on behalf of surgical robot and radiomics. Surgeons should proactively master these advanced techniques and accelerate the innovative development of general surgery in China.

There is an increased need to develop novel alternative approaches to the two-year rodent bioassay for the carcinogenicity assessment of substances where the rodent bioassay is still a basic requirement, as well as for those substances where animal use is banned or limited or where information gaps are identified within legislation. The current progress in this area was addressed in a EURL ECVAM- ESTIV workshop held in October 2016, in Juan les Pins. A number of initiatives were presented and discussed, including data-driven, technology-driven and pathway-driven approaches. Despite a seemingly diverse range of strategic developments, commonalities are emerging. For example, providing insight into carcinogenicity mechanisms is becoming an increasingly appreciated aspect of hazard assessment and is suggested to be the best strategy to drive new developments. Thus, now more than ever, there is a need to combine and focus efforts towards the integration of available information between sectors. Such cross-sectorial harmonisation will aid in building confidence in new approach methods leading to increased implementation and thus a decreased necessity for the two-year rodent bioassay.
