RESUMO

Developing clean energy is an important strategy to achieve global carbon neutrality. In the entire life cycle industrial chain of clean energy systems, fossil energy was directly or indirectly consumed during the processes from raw material production to waste disposal stages. The energy consumed by clean energy construction differed across regions, resulting in various carbon neutrality contributions of clean energy in different regions. We used bibliometrics to sort out the energy consumption of clean energy construction in different regions, including photovoltaic power generation, wind power, hydropower, and other clean energy sources. By combining the loss of land to decrease carbon pool during the operation of clean energy, we analyzed the current research hotspots, development status and trends, and difference in carbon emissions, and summarized the carbon neutral contributions of different regions. The intensity of clean energy carbon emission in China was significantly lower than global mean value. The average intensity of carbon emission in China in the four fields of onshore wind power, offshore wind power, hydropower, and photovoltaic power was 28.8%, 18.2%, 10.1%, and 16.7% lower than global average, respectively. For further research on carbon neutrality of clean energy, it is important to establish a unified life cycle assessment system, put forward construction strategies according to geographical differences, carry out ecological benefit evaluation for clean energy, and establish a clean energy transmission network system.

RESUMO

In recent years, with population aging and economic development, morbidity and mortality of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease associated with atherosclerosis (AS) have gradually increased. In this study, a combination of network pharmacology and experimental verification was used to systematically explore the action mechanism of Yiqi Huoxue Huatan Recipe (YHHR) in the treatment of coronary atherosclerotic heart disease (CAD). We searched and screened the active ingredients of Coptis chinensis, Astragalus membranaceus, Salvia miltiorrhiza, and Hirudo. We also searched multiple databases for related target genes corresponding to the compounds and CAD. STRING was used to construct the protein-protein interaction (PPI) network of genes. Metascape was used to perform gene ontology (GO) enrichment analysis and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) enrichment analysis for common targets to analyze the main pathways, and finally, the molecular docking and main possible pathways were verified by experimental studies. Firstly, a total of 1480 predicted target points were obtained through the Swiss Target Prediction database. After screening, merging, and deleting duplicate values, a total of 768 targets were obtained. Secondly, "Coronary atherosclerotic heart disease" was searched in databases such as the OMIM, GeneCards, and TTD. 1844 disease-related targets were obtained. Among PPI network diagram of YHHR-CAD, SRC had the highest degree value, followed by AKT1, TP53, hsp90aa1 and mapk3. The KEGG pathway bubble diagram was drawn using Chiplot, the Signal pathways such as NF kappa B signaling pathway, Lipid and AS, and Apelin signaling pathway are closely related to the occurrence of CAD. The PCR and Western blot methods were used to detect the expression of NF-κB p65. When compared with that in the model group, the expression of NF-κB p65mRNA decreased in the low-concentration YHHR group, with P < .05, while the expression of NF-κB p65mRNA decreased significantly in the high-concentration YHHR group, with P < .01. On the other hand, when compared with that in the model group, the expression of NF-κB p65 decreased in the low-concentration YHHR group, but was not statistically significant, while the expression of NF-κB p65 was significant in the high-concentration YHHR group, and has statistical significance with P < .05. YHHR has been shown to resist inflammation and AS through the SRC/NF-κB signaling pathway.

RESUMO

Healthcare tends to be one of the most complicated sectors, and hospitals exist at the core of healthcare activities. One of the most significant elements in hospitals is service quality level. Moreover, the dependency between factors, dynamic features, as well as objective and subjective uncertainties involved endure challenges to modern decision-making problems. Thus, in this paper, a decision-making approach is developed for hospital service quality assessment, using a Bayesian copula network based on a fuzzy rough set within neighborhood operators as a basis of that to deal with dynamic features as well as objective uncertainties. In the copula Bayesian network model, the Bayesian Network is utilized to illustrate the interrelationships between different factors graphically, while Copula is engaged in obtaining the joint probability distribution. Fuzzy rough set theory within neighborhood operators is employed for the subjective treatment of evidence from decision makers. The efficiency and practicality of the designed method are validated by an analysis of real hospital service quality in Iran. A novel framework for ranking a group of alternatives with consideration of different criteria is proposed by the combination of the Copula Bayesian Network and the extended fuzzy rough set technique. The subjective uncertainty of decision makers' opinions is dealt with in a novel extension of fuzzy Rough set theory. The results highlighted that the proposed method has merits in reducing uncertainty and assessing the dependency between factors of complicated decision-making problems.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: Antineoplastic drugs (ADs) are widely used in clinical practice and have been demonstrated to be effective in treating malignant tumors. However, they carry a risk of cytogenotoxicity for healthcare workers. Studies have reported that genotoxic biomarkers can be applied to assess the occupational health status of healthcare workers at an early stage, but results of different studies are variable. The objectives of the review were examine the association between long-term exposure to ADs and cytogenetic damage to healthcare workers. METHODS: We systematically reviewed studies between 2005 and 2021 using PubMed, Embase and Web of Science databases that used cytogenetic biomarkers to assess occupational exposure to ADs in healthcare workers. We used RevMan5.4 to analyze the tail length parameters of the DNA, frequency of the chromosomal aberrations, sister chromatid exchanges and micronuclei. A total of 16 studies were included in our study. The studies evaluate the quality of the literature through the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality. RESULTS: The results revealed that under the random-effects model, the estimated standard deviation was 2.37 (95% confidence interval [CI] 0.92-3.81, P = 0.001) for the tail length parameters of the DNA, 1.48 (95% CI 0.71-2.25, P = 0.0002) for the frequency of chromosomal aberrations, 1.74 (95% CI 0.49-2.99, P = 0.006) for the frequency of sister chromatid exchanges and 1.64 (95% CI 0.83-2.45, P < 0.0001) for the frequency of micronuclei. CONCLUSIONS: The results indicate that there is a significant association between occupational exposure to ADs and cytogenetic damage, to which healthcare workers should be alerted.

RESUMO

This research is one main objective to assess combined toxicity of trace metal mixtures in aquatic biota in coastal sediments. Coastal sediments around the world are a major reservoir of trace metals from industrial wastewater discharge. Our case study site, Daya Bay in southern China, was selected because it has been under severe man-made impacts. Diffusive gradients in thin films (DGT) technique has proven to be a good method for measuring the bioavailability of trace metals. The bioavailability and distribution of trace metals in surface sediments were investigated along with their possible biological risks. The average bioavailable (DGT-labile) concentrations (µg/L) were 0.44 (V), 0.51 (Cr), 52.49 (Mn), 0.10 (Co), 1.36 (Ni), 0.74 (Cu), 14.53 (Zn), 0.97 (As), 0.14 (Se), 6.73 (Mo), 0.17 (Cd), 0.27 (Sb), 0.10 (W), and 1.32 (Pb). Nonmetric multidimensional scaling (NMS) is a robust multivariate ordination method that makes no assumptions about the distribution of the underlying data. NMS was used to explore that DGT-labile concentrations of trace metals were influenced by sediment properties. NMS results indicated that most DGT- labile trace metals influenced by sediment properties. Risk assessment of single trace metal toxicity revealed that risk quotient (RQ) values for Mn, Cu, Zn and Pb significantly exceeded 1, demonstrating that the toxic effects of these trace metals should be not ignored. The probabilistic ecological risk assessment for integral toxicity of one mixture of 14 trace metals revealed that Daya Bay surface sediments had a low probability (9.04 %) of adverse effects on aquatic biota.

RESUMO

Heavy metals and pesticides (HMPs) are common contaminants due to their extensive use worldwide. Diffusive gradients in thin films (DGT) are a good method for measuring the bioavailable concentration of pollutants. This study represents the first evaluation of HMP toxicity in aquatic biota using the DGT technique in sediments. Zhelin Bay was selected as the case study site because it has been contaminated by pollutants. Nonmetric multidimensional scaling (NMS) analysis reveals that a diverse range of pollutants (V, Cr, Ni, Cu, Zn, As, Se, InHg, Mo, Cd, Sb, W, Pb, CLP, PYR) are mainly influenced by sediment characteristics. Assessment of single HMP toxicity found that the risk quotient (RQ) values for Mn, Cu, inorganic Hg (InHg), chlorpyrifos (CLP) and diuron (DIU) are significantly higher than 1, indicating that the adverse effects of these single HMPs should not be ignored. The combined toxicity of HMP mixtures based on probabilistic ecotoxicological risk assessment shows that Zhelin Bay surface sediments had a medium probability (54.6%) of toxic effects to aquatic biota.

RESUMO

This study aimed to develop a 5G + "mixed computing" + deep learning-based next-generation intelligent health-monitoring platform for an ethylene cracking furnace tube based on 5G communication technology, with the goal of improving the health management level of the key component of ethylene production, that is, the cracking furnace tube, and focusing on the key common technical difficulties of ethylene production of tube outer-surface temperature sensing and tube slagging diagnosis. It also integrated the edge-fog-cloud "mixed computing" technology and deep learning technology in artificial intelligence, which had a higher degree in the research and development of automation and intelligence, and was more versatile in an industrial environment. The platform included a 5G-based tube intelligent temperature-measuring device, a 5G-based intelligent peep door gearing, a 5G-based edge-fog-cloud collaboration mechanism, and a mixed deep learning-related application. The platform enhanced the automation and intelligence of the enterprise, which could not only promote the quality and efficiency of the enterprise but also protect the safe operation of the cracking furnace device and lead the technological progress and transformation and upgrading of the industry through the application.

RESUMO

To provide insights for how to deal with pandemic mortality risk, this article introduces a mortality model that depicts the relevant pandemic effects on pricing mortality-linked securities, using a threshold jump approach. That is, to capture pandemic mortality dynamics across countries, we consider mortality jumps related to the pandemic shock and to a specific country shock. Pandemic jump occurs only when a pandemic event causes significant deaths worldwide, such as 1918 Spanish flu or COVID-19. Then the proposed pandemic mortality model can be adjusted according to country-specific mortality experiences. We further analyze the effect of pandemic mortality risk on pricing a mortality-linked bond. Using the first Swiss Re mortality bond as an example, a further derivation obtains the closed-form solution for the fixed-coupon mortality-linked bond in the pandemic mortality framework. Finally, this study details the impacts of pandemic mortality risk numerically by fitting the model to the United States, England and Wales, France, Italy, and Switzerland and calculating the fair spread of the mortality-linked bond.

RESUMO

Slurry balancing shield construction is a method in which slurry pressure and groundwater pressure are balanced to achieve stability of excavation working face. It is widely used in tunnel construction due to its safety and high-efficiency characteristics. At present, research on safety risk management of slurry balancing shield construction is relatively lacking, and most scholars still mainly focus on technical research. In this paper, based on system engineering theory and from the perspective of whole construction process, a comprehensive evaluation index system for shield construction risk analysis is built by taking "human-machine-material-method-environment" as assessment dimensions. This paper modifies the existing analytic hierarchy process (AHP), combines AHP with fuzzy synthetic evaluation to build a risk analysis model, and quantifies the construction risk by evaluation set and matrix. Combined with case study, the effectiveness of the proposed model is verified, and measures to mitigate safety risks of slurry shield construction are proposed from perspectives of management, economy, and technology. This paper evaluates the overall risk level of project from a systematic perspective, which is an extension of traditional technology-oriented research.

RESUMO

Rivers in urbanised cities are often polluted, black, and odorous, with poor water quality and deteriorated ecology. Despite many river restoration studies, assessments of ecological responses to river restoration practices remain scant. Benthic animals are useful biological indicators showing the change and succession of river ecosystems; however, previous studies have mainly focussed on a few target species without considering overall ecosystem integrity. Here, we used a multi-index biological assessment method, benthic index of biological integrity (B-IBI) to assess ecological responses to river restoration of the Shahe River in subtropical region of China. Spatiotemporal changes in the macrobenthos community structure after restoration were monitored to explore species succession. We found that the number of macrobenthos species increased from 16 to 42, with the emergence of some pollution-sensitive species during the restoration period. Molluscs showed widespread recovery, and their relative proportions almost doubled from 12.5% to 24.4%. Oligochaetes and chironomids were the pioneer species in the recovering communities, while gastropod molluscs and pollution-sensitive aquatic insects were transitional species that first settled during the initial recovery period. Based on our survey data, 25 candidate metrics were selected, and five core metrics (total taxa, Simpson diversity index, percentage of crustaceans and molluscs, percentage of predators, and percentage of collector-gatherers) were identified after screening to establish the B-IBI. Our analysis revealed a distinct improvement in the overall health of the river, with the proportions of "excellent" and "good" sites increasing from zero to 28.6% and from 14.3% to 42.9%, respectively. A correlation analysis indicated that water flow, molluscs, and total phosphorus content were the three drivers of ecological recovery in the Shahe River. Overall, our study demonstrates the importance of governance and restoration of rivers in tropical and subtropical cities, and provides valuable evidence that can guide the design and evaluation of river restoration works.

RESUMO

This paper builds an evaluation index system, uses the entropy weight method (EWM) to decide the weights and, based on the coupling coordination degree model (CCDM), it systematically studies the coupling relationship between Chinese cold chain logistics and the Chinese economy from 2010 to 2019. It performs a grey relational analysis (GRE) to explore the main factors influencing the coordinated development of the two. The results show that the coupling coordination degree between the two presents a steady upward trend, and their coupling relationship has been upgraded from 'coordination' to 'good coordination'. They also indicate that the added value in the tertiary industry, the per capita gross domestic product (GDP), and household consumption levels are the main factors affecting the development of cold chain logistics, while the per capita cold storage capacity, the turnover of road cold chain freight, and the volume of human-power employed in cold chain logistics are the main factors affecting economic development. This study makes suggestions to support the coordinated development of cold chain logistics and economy, and provides a scientific basis for further research.

RESUMO

The surface intertidal sediments in the Pearl River Estuary of China were analyzed from multiple perspectives, including the distribution characteristics, potential sources, and biological risks of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs). The average concentration of PAHs, ranging from 73.68 ng/g to 933.25 ng/g, was 346.78 ng/g. PAHs are mainly composed of the 2- and 3-ring PAHs, with naphthalene (Nap), phenanthrene (Phe), pyrene (Pyr), benzo(g,h, i) perylene (Dib), fluoranthene (Flua), and indeno (1,2,3-c,d) pyrene (Ind) as the dominant constituents. The principal component analysis combined with multiple linear regression showed that petroleum combustion and biomass/coal combustion have contributed 52.78% and 40.53%, respectively, to the PAHs in intertidal sediments of Pearl River Estuary. The occurrence of adverse biological effects as a result of PAH contamination in the intertidal sediments of Pearl River Estuary has increased by 8% based on the mean value of the probable effect quotient.

RESUMO

Vascular embolization is a well-known therapeutic treatment against hepatocellular carcinoma. However, existing embolic agents require complex synthesis, toxic organic solvents and sometimes produce only low yields. In this study, a novel photopolymerization technique, which addresses these issues, was used to prepare embolic microspheres successfully from the sucrose multi-allyl ether monomer in one step. Compared to the preparation of such microspheres always involved in multiple steps or complicated conditions, we obtained the microspheres used photoclick method in a soft template with simple, economic and feasible procedure. This work focuses on the synthesis of new materials by conducting a photopolymerzation in the presence of the sucrose monomer and the photoinitiator. Then, the embolic microspheres obtained were characterized by morphology assay, degradation, and swelling test. Cell experiments showed that the microspheres had good biocompatibility. Rabbit embolizations showed that the microspheres had long-term embolic effects. It is manifested that one-step preparation of photoclick method hold great potential and competitiveness of being used in preparation embolic microspheres in clinic.

RESUMO

Background: The prevalence of hypertension is increasing particularly among obese children and adolescents. Obese children and adolescents with hypertension are likely to remain hypertensive as they reach adulthood and hypertension is linked to an increased risk for cardiovascular disease. Twenty-four-hour ambulatory blood pressure monitoring (ABPM) has become one of the most important tools in diagnosing hypertension in children and adolescents and circadian patterns of blood pressure may be important disease-risk predictors. Methods: A retrospective chart review was conducted in patients aged 6-21 years who underwent 24-h ABPM at Kentucky Children's Hospital (KCH) from August 2012 through June 2017. Exclusion criteria included conditions that could affect blood pressure including chronic kidney disease and other renal abnormalities, congenital heart disease, cancer, and thyroid disease. Subjects were categorized by body mass index into normal (below 85th percentile), overweight (85th-95th percentile), stage I obesity (95th-119th percentile), stage II obesity (120th-139th) and stage III obesity (>140th). Non-dipping was defined as a nocturnal BP reduction of <10%. Results: Two hundred and sixty-three patients (156 male patients) were included in the analysis, of whom 70 were normal weight, 33 overweight, 55 stage I obesity, 53 stage II, and 52 stage III obesity. Although there was no significant difference between normal weight and obese groups for prevalence of hypertension, there was a greater prevalence of SBP non-dipping in obese patients as BMI increased (p = 0.008). Furthermore, non-dippers had a significantly elevated LVMI as well as abnormal lab values for uric acid, blood lipid panel, creatinine, and TSH (p < 0.05). Conclusions: These findings demonstrate that obese children and adolescents constitute a large proportion of hypertensive children and adolescents and the severity of pediatric obesity is associated with nocturnal BP non-dipping. Additionally, obesity in children is linked to several cardiovascular risk factors including left ventricular hypertrophy, dyslipidemia, and elevated uric acid levels. Further studies utilizing ABPM measures on risk stratification in this very high-risk population are warranted.

RESUMO

In order to clarify the pollution levels of heavy metals in the drinking water sources of the Lijiang River Basin, surface water samples were collected from 62 sites throughout the Lijiang River during May 2019. Heavy metals, including As, Cd, Cr, Mn, Cu, Zn, Hg, Co, and Sb, in the water samples were analysed. Health risk assessments associated with these nine heavy metals were conducted using the health risk assessment model from the US EPA. The results indicated that the order of the average concentrations of heavy metals in the water samples were Mn > Zn > As > Cr > Cu > Sb > Co > Cd > Hg. No heavy metals exceeded the limit values of the drinking water health standards in China (GB 5749-2006), and the concentrations were lower than the limitations of Grade Ⅰ level in the environmental quality standards for surface water (GB 3838-2002). According to the spatial distribution, the high contents areas of As, Cr, Zn, and Sb were predominantly distributed downstream of the Lijiang River, while the high contents areas of Cd, Cu, Hg, Co, and Mn were mostly distributed in the upper reaches. Multivariate analysis indicated that Cd, Mn, Cu, and Co were primarily from agricultural production; Cr, Zn, and Sb were mainly from tourism transportation; As was predominantly from the weathering of rock parent material and soil erosion; Hg was mainly from the improper disposal of domestic garbage and atmospheric deposition. The results of the health risk assessment indicated that children were more susceptible to the threat of heavy metal pollution than adults, and the average annual risk of carcinogenic heavy metals to human health through drinking water ingestion were higher than those of non-carcinogenic metals. The maximum personal average annual health risk of Cr was higher than the maximum allowance levels recommended by the International Commission on Radiological Protection (5×10-5 a-1). The average annual risk of non-carcinogenic heavy metals (10-14-10-9 a-1) decreased in the order of Co > Cu > Hg > Zn > Sb > Mn, which were far below the maximum allowance levels recommended by the ICRP.

RESUMO

For follicular lymphoma (FL) with grade 1/2, the complete response (CR) rate of the first-line R-CHOP treatment was significantly low. In this study, we assessed the rationality of the administration of rituximab for FL patients with grade 1/2 based on concentration-response relationship analyses. Thus, we conducted a prospective pharmacokinetic (PK) study in 68 FL patients with grades 1-3 treated with R-CHOP at 21-day intervals. Plasma rituximab concentrations were quantified using ELISA and the population PK modeling was established with Phoenix® NLMETM. The first cycle trough concentration (C1-trough) of rituximab was a significant independent risk factor for achieving CR in matched-pair logistic regression analysis, rather than the concentrations in later cycles; the recommendatory minimum optimal C1-trough was 13.60 µg/mL. Patients with grade 1/2 had significantly lower C1-trough compared with grade 3 (12.21 µg/mL vs. 23.45 µg/mL, P < 0.001), only 30% patients with grade 1/2 could reach 13.60 µg/mL, compared with 91.67% in patients with grade 3, which was in accord with its unsatisfactory CR rates (43.33% vs. 76.32%). The stage indicating the tumor burden (the target) was a crucial influence factor for C1-trough, accounting for 40.70% of its variability, 70% patients with grade 1/2 were stage IV in this study, since the systemic therapy only started at the disseminated disease stage. The initial dose of 1800 mg was recommended by Monte Carlo simulation for patients with grade 1/2. In summary, low C1-trough accounted for low-grade FL's unsatisfactory CR rate, designing the first dosage of rituximab should be a very important component of individualized therapy for FL.

RESUMO

To assess the contamination by polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in organisms in the estuary of Changhua River in Hainan, we determined the content of 16 priority PAHs by gas chromatography and mass spectrometry (GC-MS). The composition, source, and potential edible risk of PAHs were studied. The results showed that the total PAHs of demersal fish (wet weight, same below), crustaceans, and pelagic fish were 5.52-787.98, 12.18-154.64, and 10.20-199.79 ng·g-1, respectively, and the average contents were 83.21, 64.72, and 89.48 ng·g-1, respectively. There were some differences in the content of PAHs in various organisms. The average content followed the order of pelagic fish > demersal fish > crustaceans. Compared with other areas in the country and abroad, the content of marine organisms'PAHs in the estuary of the Changhua River was above the medium level. The result of isomer characteristic ratio showed that the PAHs of 33 organisms mainly came from the combustion sources (petroleum combustion and biomass combustion) and petroleum sources. Moreover, demersal fish were greatly affected by combustion sources, while pelagic fish were greatly affected by petroleum sources. Human risk assessment indicated that the content of benzopyrene (BaP) was within the limits set by the European Union. Most of the organisms in the estuary of Changhua River were within the safe range of consumption, but the long-term consumption of these seafoods may pose a potential health risk (1.0×10-5≤ILCR<1.0×10-4).

RESUMO

INTRODUCTION: Androgen deprivation therapy (ADT) remains the mainstay of treatment for metastatic prostate cancer (mPCa) but is associated with significant morbidities. Comparisons of medical castration (MC) and surgical orchidectomy (SO) have yielded varied results. We aimed to evaluate the oncological outcomes, adverse effect (AE) profiles and costs of MC and SO in patients with mPCa. METHODS AND MATERIALS: We reviewed 523 patients who presented with de novo mPCa from a prospectively maintained prostate cancer database over 15 years (2001-2015). All patients received ADT (either MC or SO) within 3 months of diagnosis. The data were analyzed with chi-square, binary and logistics regression models. RESULTS: One hundred and fifty one (28.9%) patients received SO while 372 (71.1%) patients had MC. The median age of presentation was 73 [67 -79] years old. The median prostate-specific antigen (PSA) was 280ng/ml [82.4-958]. Three hundred and thirty one patients (66.3%) had high volume bone metastasis and 57 patients (10.9%) had visceral metastasis. Clinical demographics and clinicopathological were similar across both groups. Similar oncological outcomes were observed in both groups. The proportion of PSA response (PSA <1ng/ml) was 65.6% for SO and 67.2% for MC (P = 0.212). Both therapies achieve >95% of effective androgen suppression (testosterone <50ng/dL). Time to castrate-resistance was similar (18 vs 16 months, P = 0.097), with comparative overall survival (42 vs. 38.5 months, P = 0.058) and prostate cancer mortality (80.1 vs. 75.9%, P = 0.328). Similarly, no difference was observed for the 4 AE profiles between SO and MC respectively; change in Haemoglobin (-0.75 vs. -1.0g/dL, P = 0.302), newly diagnosed Diabetes mellitus (4.6 vs. 2.9%, P = 0.281), control measured by HbA1c (0.2 vs. 0.25%, P = 0.769), coronary artery disease events (9.9 vs. 12.9%, P = 0.376) and skeletal-related fractures (9.3 vs. 7.3%, P = 0.476). After adjusting for varying governmental subsidies and inflation rates, the median cost of SO was $5275, compared to MC of $9185.80. CONCLUSION: Both SO and MC have similar oncological outcomes and AE profiles. However, SO remains a much more cost-effective form of ADT for the long-term treatment of mPCa patients.

RESUMO

INTRODUCTION: In China, the regular use of tobacco by much of the population has brought great losses in both health and economy. This study used the framing-effect theory to explore people's preferences regarding message-framing for education about financial and health-related gains associated with smoking cessation in different areas of Shanghai, China. In particular, it attempts first to identify any influencing factors and offers some suggestions to improve the efficiency of education efforts regarding tobacco control. METHODS: A message-framing field study was conducted in three districts in Shanghai that represent low-income, middle-income and high-income areas between June and August 2015, respectively. This study examines leaflets with a different message-framing (Health-Financial Framework) to ascertain the preferences of participants at the different locations. A total of 4650 participants were recruited and asked to complete a questionnaire. The z-test, chi-squared test and logistic regression analysis were used for statistical analysis. RESULTS: In low-income areas, participants were more inclined towards financial rather than health message-framing, especially in financial and health oriented locations. In the middle-income areas, participants preferred health message-framing, especially at hospital locations. In the high-income areas, health message-framing was preferred in health and neutral locations in comparison with financial locations. The type of area, location and household monthly income have an impact on participants' preference for message-framing. CONCLUSIONS: Three suggestions are proposed for tobacco control health education in China: 1) Combine health education information design with the framing-effect theory to improve the effectiveness of information content, 2) Considering the impact of different types of area and location, different tobacco control health education strategies should be adopted to improve the efficiency of publicity, and 3) Targeted and personalized tobacco control health education strategies should be implemented among different audiences.

RESUMO

Assessing heavy metal pollution in river sediments and identifying the key factors contributing to metal pollution are critical components for devising river environmental protection and remediation strategies to protect human and ecological health. This is especially important in urban areas where metals from a wide range of sources contribute to sediment pollution. In this study, the metal enrichment factor (EF) was used to measure the watershed distribution of Cu, Zn, Pb and Cd in sediments in the Wen-Rui Tang urban river system in Wenzhou, Eastern China. The Geographical Detector Method (GDM) was specifically evaluated for its ability to analyze spatial relationships between metal EFs and their anthropogenic and natural control factors, including densities of industry (DI), livestock (DL), service industries (DS), population (DP), and roads (DR), along with agricultural area (AG), sediment total organic carbon (TOC), and soil types (ST). Results showed that the watershed was highly contaminated by all metals with an EF trend of Cd ≫ Zn > Cu > Pb. The spatial distribution of EFs demonstrated high contamination of all metals in the southwestern region of the watershed where industrial activities were concentrated, and higher Cu and Zn concentrations in the northeastern region having a high density of livestock production. GDM results identified DI as the dominant determinant for all metals, while TOC and ST were determined to have a moderate secondary influence for Zn, Pb and Cd. Additionally, GDM revealed several additive and nonlinear interactions between anthropogenic and natural factors influencing metal concentrations. Compared to other correlation, multiple linear regression and geographically weighted regression, GDM demonstrated distinct advantages of being able to assess both categorical and continuous variables and determine both single and multiple factor interactions. These attributes provide a more comprehensive understanding of metal spatial distributions while avoiding multicollinearity issues when identifying significant contributing factors at the watershed scale.
