RESUMO

Purpose To determine whether metrics from mean apparent propagator (MAP) MRI perform better than apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) value in assessing the tumor-stroma ratio (TSR) status in breast carcinoma. Materials and Methods From August 2021 to October 2022, 271 participants were prospectively enrolled (ClinicalTrials.gov identifier: NCT05159323) and underwent breast diffusion spectral imaging and diffusion-weighted imaging. MAP MRI metrics and ADC were derived from the diffusion MRI data. All participants were divided into high-TSR (stromal component < 50%) and low-TSR (stromal component ≥ 50%) groups based on pathologic examination. Clinicopathologic characteristics were collected, and MRI findings were assessed. Logistic regression was used to determine the independent variables for distinguishing TSR status. The area under the receiver operating characteristic curve (AUC) and sensitivity, specificity, and accuracy were compared between the MAP MRI metrics, either alone or combined with clinicopathologic characteristics, and ADC, using the DeLong and McNemar test. Results A total of 181 female participants (mean age, 49 years ± 10 [SD]) were included. All diffusion MRI metrics differed between the high-TSR and low-TSR groups (P < .001 to P = .01). Radial non-Gaussianity from MAP MRI and lymphovascular invasion were significant independent variables for discriminating the two groups, with a higher AUC (0.81 [95% CI: 0.74, 0.87] vs 0.61 [95% CI: 0.53, 0.68], P < .001) and accuracy (138 of 181 [76%] vs 106 of 181 [59%], P < .001) than that of the ADC. Conclusion MAP MRI may serve as a better approach than conventional diffusion-weighted imaging in evaluating the TSR of breast carcinoma. RESUMO

Transforming smallholder farms is critical to global food security and environmental sustainability. The science and technology backyard (STB) platform has proved to be a viable approach in China. However, STB has traditionally focused on empowering smallholder farmers by transferring knowledge, and wide-scale adoption of more sustainable practices and technologies remains a challenge. Here, we report on a long-term project focused on technology scale-up for smallholder farmers by expanding and upgrading the original STB platform (STB 2.0). We created a formalized and standardized process by which to engage and collaborate with farmers, including integrating their feedback via equal dialogues in the process of designing and promoting technologies. Based on 288 site-year of field trials in three regions in the North China Plain over 5 y, we find that technologies cocreated through this process were more easily accepted by farmers and increased their crop yields and nitrogen factor productivity by 7.2% and 28.1% in wheat production and by 11.4% and 27.0% in maize production, respectively. In promoting these technologies more broadly, we created a "one-stop" multistakeholder program involving local government agencies, enterprises, universities, and farmers. The program was shown to be much more effective than the traditional extension methods applied at the STB, yielding substantial environmental and economic benefits. Our study contributes an important case study for technology scale-up for smallholder agriculture. The STB 2.0 platform being explored emphasizes equal dialogue with farmers, multistakeholder collaboration, and long-term investment. These lessons may provide value for the global smallholder research and practitioners.

RESUMO

To construct a stochastic version of [R. J. Barro, J. Polit. Econ. 87, 940-971 (1979)] normative model of tax rates and debt/GDP dynamics, we add risks and markets for trading them along lines suggested by [K. J. Arrow, Rev. Econ. Stud. 31, 91-96 (1964)] and [R. J. Shiller, Creating Institutions for Managing Society's Largest Economic Risks (OUP, Oxford, 1994)]. These modifications preserve Barro's prescriptions that a government should keep its debt-gross domestic product (GDP) ratio and tax rate constant over time and also prescribe that the government insure its primary surplus risk by selling or buying the same number of shares of a Shiller macro security each period.

RESUMO

Background: Dust generated during the processing of building materials enterprises can pose a serious health risk. The study aimed to compare and analyze the results of ART and the Monte Carlo model for the dust exposure assessment in building materials enterprises, to derive the application scope of the two models. Methods: First, ART and the Monte Carlo model were used to assess the exposure to dust in each of the 15 building materials enterprises. Then, a comparative analysis of the exposure assessment results was conducted. Finally, the model factors were analyzed using correlation analysis and the scope of application of the models was determined. Results: The results show that ART is mainly influenced by four factors, namely, localized controls, segregation, dispersion, surface contamination, and fugitive emissions, and applies to scenarios where the workplace information of the building materials enterprises is specific and the average dust concentration is greater than or equal to 1.5 mg/m3. The Monte Carlo model is mainly influenced by the dust concentration in the workplace of building materials enterprises and is suitable for scenarios where the dust concentration in the workplace of the building materials enterprises is relatively uniform and the average dust concentration is less than or equal to 6mg/m3. Conclusion: ART is most accurate when workplace information is specific and average dust concentration is > 1.5 mg/m3; whereas, The Monte Carlo model is the best when dust concentration is homogeneous and average dust concentration is < 6 mg/m3.

RESUMO

PURPOSE: The primary aims of this study were to evaluate the prevalence of wound-related pain (WRP) in patients with chronic wounds and assess the use of pain relief measures. DESIGN: A cross-sectional study. SUBJECTS AND SETTING: A convenience sample of patients with chronic wounds was recruited from outpatient clinics of 12 hospitals covering 7 of 13 cities in the Jiangsu province located in eastern China from July 10 to August 25, 2020. The sample comprised 451 respondents, and their mean age was 54.85 (SD 19.16) years; 56.1% (253/451) patients were male. METHODS: An investigator-designed questionnaire was used to collect pain-related information from patients. The questionnaire consisted of 4 parts: (1) basic demographic and clinical information (patient and wound characteristics); (2) wound baseline pain; (3) wound-related procedural pain and pain relief method; and (4) the effect of WRP on the patient. Pain was assessed using the Numerical Rating Scale (NRS) scored from 0 (no pain) to 10 (worst pain). Severity of pain was based on NRS scores' classification as mild (1-3), moderate (4-6), and severe (7-10). The survey was conducted from July 10 to August 25, 2020. Participants were instructed on use of the NRS and then completed the questionnaire following dressing change independently. RESULTS: The 3 most common types of chronic wounds were traumatic ulcers, surgical wounds, and venous leg ulcers. The 3 most prevalent locations were lower limbs, feet, and thorax/abdomen. Of all patients, 62.5% (282/451) and 93.8% (423/451) patients experienced wound baseline pain and wound-related procedural pain, respectively. The mean score of wound baseline pain was 3.76 (SD 1.60) indicating moderate pain. During wound management, the highest pain score was 6.45 (SD 2.75) indicating severe pain; the most severe pain scores were associated with debridement. The use of drugs to relieve wound pain was low, while the use of nondrug-based analgesia was relatively high. Because of WRP, patients with chronic wounds feared dressing changes, hesitated to move, and showed a decline in sleep quality. CONCLUSIONS: Wound baseline pain and wound-related procedural pain were very common in patients with chronic wounds. In the future, targeted intervention plans should be developed by combining drug-based and nondrug-based analgesia according to pain severity.

RESUMO

The trees of the Dongzhai Harbor mangrove forest suffer from antibiotic contamination from surrounding aquaculture areas. Despite this being one of the largest mangrove forests in China, few studies have focused on the antibiotic pollution status in these aquaculture areas. In the present study, the occurrence, distribution, and risk assessment of 37 antibiotics in surface water and sediment samples from aquaculture areas around Dongzhai Harbor mangrove forests were analyzed. The concentration of total antibiotics (∑antibiotics) ranged from 78.4 ng/L to 225.6 ng/L in surface water (except S14-A2) and from 19.5 ng/g dry weight (dw) to 229 ng/g dw in sediment. In the sediment, the concentrations of ∑antibiotics were relatively low (19.5-52.3 ng/g dw) at 75 % of the sampling sites, while they were high (95.7-229.0 ng/g dw) at a few sampling sites (S13-A1, S13D, S8D). The correlation analysis results showed that the Kd values of the 9 antibiotics were significantly positively correlated with molecular weight (MW), Kow, and LogKow. Risk assessment revealed that sulfamethoxazole (SMX) in surface water and SMX, enoxacin (ENX), ciprofloxacin (CFX), enrofloxacin (EFX), ofloxacin (OFX), and norfloxacin (NFX) in sediment had medium/high risk quotients (RQs) at 62.5 % and 25-100 %, respectively, of the sampling sites. The antibiotic mixture in surface water (0.06-3.36) and sediment (0.43-309) posed a high risk at 37.5 % and 66.7 %, respectively, of the sampling sites. SMX was selected as an indicator of antibiotic pollution in surface water to assist regulatory authorities in monitoring and managing antibiotic pollution in the aquaculture zone of Dongzhai Harbor. Overall, the results of the present study provide a comprehensive and detailed analysis of the characteristics of antibiotics in the aquaculture environment around the Dongzhai Harbor mangrove system and provide a theoretical basis for the source control of antibiotics in mangrove systems.

RESUMO

Objectives: One-carbon metabolism (OCM) significantly influences fetal growth and neurodevelopment through transferring methyl group to biomolecules, during which folate, methionine, choline and betaine function as methyl donor nutrients, while vitamin B2, B6, B12 function as enzyme cofactors, and homocysteine (Hcy) and S-adenosyl methionine (SAM) are functional metabolites. This study aimed to assess blood OCM index levels and explore their relationships among Chinese pregnant women. Methods: Data were obtained from the baseline of the Mother-Child Nutrition and Health Cohort Study. Pregnant women, voluntarily recruited from September 2020 to June 2022 during antenatal examinations in five Chinese cities at 24-32 gestational weeks, provided fasting venous blood samples. Measurements included RBC and serum folate, serum vitamin B2, B6, B12, choline, betaine, methionine, total Hcy (tHcy), and plasma SAM. Sociodemographic characteristics and pregnancy-related conditions were collected via a self-designed questionnaire. Results: Of 397 participants, 82.6% were in mid-pregnancy (24-27 gestational weeks) and 17.4% were in late-pregnancy (28-32 gestational weeks). Serum folate, vitamin B6, and B12 deficiencies were 2.5, 1.3, and 8.3%, respectively. Elevated tHcy (≥10 µmol/L) was observed in 1.8% of pregnant women. Elderly pregnant women (aged 35 and above) exhibited significantly lower serum methionine levels (p < 0.05), while multiparous women had lower RBC folate levels (p < 0.05), and lower serum methionine and vitamin B12 levels (p < 0.10, not statistically significant). Partial correlation analysis revealed positive associations between RBC folate and cofactor vitamin B12 (r = 0.244, p < 0.05) in the folate cycle, as well as significant correlations between two methyl donor paths [serum folate was significantly related to serum choline (r = 0.172) and betaine (r = 0.193)]. As functional biomarkers of OCM, serum tHcy exhibited negative associations with RBC folate (ß = -0.330, p < 0.05) and vitamin B6 (ß = -0.317, p < 0.05), and plasma SAM displayed a positive association with serum betaine (ß = 0.610, p < 0.05), while negatively associated with serum vitamin B6 (ß = -0.181, p < 0.05). Conclusion: The blood OCM exhibited imbalances during mid-to-late pregnancy, characterized by lower levels of folate, vitamin B6, and B12, alongside elevated tHcy levels. Adequate folate and vitamin B6 emerged as significant predictors of lower tHcy levels. Additionally, serum betaine showed a positive correlation with plasma SAM. This suggests the importance of not only ensuring sufficient folate but also optimizing other OCM-related nutrients throughout pregnancy.

RESUMO

The disparity in genetic risk prediction accuracy between European and non-European individuals highlights a critical challenge in health inequality. To bridge this gap, we introduce JointPRS, a novel method that models multiple populations jointly to improve genetic risk predictions for non-European individuals. JointPRS has three key features. First, it encompasses all diverse populations to improve prediction accuracy, rather than relying solely on the target population with a singular auxiliary European group. Second, it autonomously estimates and leverages chromosome-wise cross-population genetic correlations to infer the effect sizes of genetic variants. Lastly, it provides an auto version that has comparable performance to the tuning version to accommodate the situation with no validation dataset. Through extensive simulations and real data applications to 22 quantitative traits and four binary traits in East Asian populations, nine quantitative traits and one binary trait in African populations, and four quantitative traits in South Asian populations, we demonstrate that JointPRS outperforms state-of-art methods, improving the prediction accuracy for both quantitative and binary traits in non-European populations.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVES: Electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) is an effective somatic treatment, but it may be limited by cognitive adverse effects. The existing cognitive screening instruments often lack specificity to ECT-associated cognitive deficits. The ElectroConvulsive Therapy Cognitive Assessment was developed and validated in a clinical setting, but the reliability and validity of the Chinese version of ElectroConvulsive Therapy Cognitive Assessment (ECCA-C) have not been studied in a large clinical sample. METHODS: The ECCA-C and the Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA) were administered to patients with major depressive disorder (MDD) undergoing ECT at 3 time points: pretreatment (baseline), before the fifth treatment, and 1 week posttreatment. The instruments were also administered to a sample of healthy subjects. RESULTS: Sixty-five patients with MDD and 50 age- and sex-matched healthy controls were recruited in this study. Overall, the patient group had statistically significantly lower MoCA and ECCA-C scores than the control group (both P values <0.001). The Cronbach α of the ECCA-C was 0.88 at baseline. Statistically significant decreases over time were observed in ECCA-C: pre-ECT (23.9 ± 4.0) > mid-ECT (21.3 ± 3.4) > post-ECT (18.7 ± 4.8) (all P values <0.001), whereas no statistically significant changes in MoCA scores were found at these 3 time points (F = 1.86, P = 0.165). A cutoff score of 26.5 on the ECCA-C was found to best differentiate between MDD patients and healthy controls. CONCLUSIONS: The ECCA-C showed satisfactory psychometric properties and may be a more sensitive instrument than the MoCA to assess cognitive impairment associated with ECT.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: The scarcity of sepsis epidemiologic data from most low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) hampered estimation of regional and global burden of the disease, and provided limited guidance for policy makers. We aimed to characterize and analyze the temporal trends of sepsis-related mortality in China, by population groups, underlying causes of death, geographic regions, and sociodemographic index (SDI) levels. METHODS: Sepsis-related deaths were identified from the National Mortality Surveillance System (NMSS) of China from 2006 to 2020. Trends of sepsis-related mortality and years of life lost (YLLs), stratified by age, sex, underlying diseases, and regions were analyzed using the Jointpoint regression analysis. We investigated the association of SDI with trends of sepsis-related mortality. RESULTS: In 2020, sepsis was estimated to be responsible for 986,929 deaths and 17.1 million YLLs in China. Age-standardized sepsis-related mortality significantly declined from 130.2 (95%CI, 129.4-131) per 100,000 population in 2006 to 76.6 (76.3-76.9) in 2020. Age-standardized YLLs decreased from 2172.7 (2169.4-2176) per 100,000 population in 2006 to 1271 (1269.8-1272.2) in 2020. Substantial variations of sepsis-related mortality and YLLs were observed between population groups and regions, with higher burden in males, the elderly, and western China. An inverse relation was noted between SDI and sepsis-related mortality or YLLs. CONCLUSIONS: Despite declining trends of age-standardized mortality and YLLs of sepsis in China, significant disparities between population groups and regions highlight a need for targeted policies and measures to close the gaps and improve the outcome of sepsis.

RESUMO

In the era of precision medicine, many biomarkers have been discovered to be associated with drug efficacy and safety responses, which can be used for patient stratification and drug response prediction. Due to the small sample size and limited power of randomized clinical studies, meta-analysis is usually conducted to aggregate all available studies to maximize the power for identifying prognostic and predictive biomarkers. However, it is often challenging to find an independent study to replicate the discoveries from the meta-analysis (e.g. meta-analysis of pharmacogenomics genome-wide association studies (PGx GWAS)), which seriously limits the potential impacts of the discovered biomarkers. To overcome this challenge, we develop a novel statistical framework, MAJAR (meta-analysis of joint effect associations for biomarker replicability assessment), to jointly test prognostic and predictive effects and assess the replicability of identified biomarkers by implementing an enhanced expectation-maximization algorithm and calculating their posterior-probability-of-replicabilities and Bayesian false discovery rates (Fdr). Extensive simulation studies were conducted to compare the performance of MAJAR and existing methods in terms of Fdr, power, and computational efficiency. The simulation results showed improved statistical power with well-controlled Fdr of MAJAR over existing methods and robustness to outliers under different data generation processes. We further demonstrated the advantages of MAJAR over existing methods by applying MAJAR to the PGx GWAS summary statistics data from a large cardiovascular randomized clinical trial. Compared to testing main effects only, MAJAR identified 12 novel variants associated with the treatment-related low-density lipoprotein cholesterol reduction from baseline.

RESUMO

Non-alcoholic fatty acid liver disease (NAFLD) is a reputed global health concern, affecting children and young adults. Accumulating evidence suggests that edible fungi polysaccharides have the potential to relieve NAFLD. Our previous study found that Auricularia cornea var. Li. polysaccharides (ACP) could improve immune by regulating gut microbiota. However, its NAFLD-alleviating potentials have been scarcely reported. This study analyzed the protective effects of Auricularia cornea var. Li. polysaccharides on high-fat diet (HFD)-induced NAFLD and mechanistic actions. We first analyzed the histology and hepatic lipid profile of animals to evaluate this variant's ameliorating effects on NAFLD. Then, antioxidant and anti-inflammatory potentials of ACP were studied. Finally, we explored changes in the gut microbiome diversity for mechanistic insights from the gut-liver region. Results showed that supplementation with ACP substantially reduced homeostasis model assessment-insulin resistance (HOMA-IR), body fat, liver index rates and weight gain (p < 0.05). This variant also improved HDL-C levels while decreasing triglyceride (TG), total cholesterol (TC), and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) levels which were initially triggered by HFD. ACP mediation also decreased the serum alanine aminotransferase (ALT) and aspartate aminotransferase (AST) levels considerably with H&E technique indicating that it can reduce liver lipid accumulation, thus lowering liver damages risks (p < 0.05). The antioxidant potentials of ACP were also demonstrated as it decreased the hepatic levels of malondialdehyde (MDA) and increased the activities of superoxide dismutase (SOD), catalase (CAT), and glutathione peroxidase (GSH-PX). Proinflammatory markers like IL-6, IL-1ß and TNF-α concentrations were decreased by ACP supplementation, accompanied with increased IL-4 levels. Finally, ACP supplementation regulated the intestinal microbiota to near normal patterns. In all, ACP protects HFD-induced NAFLD by improving liver characteristics and regulating colonic flora composition, our findings assert that ACP can be a promising strategy in NAFLD therapy.

RESUMO

A new Qinghai-Tibet Plateau species, Rhyacodrilus tanggulaensis Jiang & Cui sp. nov. (Annelida, Clitellata, Naididae, Rhyacodrilinae), is described, and its phylogenetic relationships within the genus is assessed on the basis of both mitochondrial (16S rDNA, COⅠ gene) and nuclear (ITS2) markers. Data from 32 species of Naididae, representing 7 subfamilies and 25 genera are used. Ten species were chosen as outgroup taxa. The molecular data were analyzed by Bayesian inference. The new species is distinguished from other species of Rhyacodrilus by the following combination of characters: dorsal and ventral chaetae with distal tooth 2-3 times longer than proximal, spermathecal and penial chaetae present, atria long and tubular, atrial duct conspicuous. The analyses of the combined molecular data corroborate the close relationship between Naidinae and the rhyacodriline genera Rhyacodrilus, Monopylephorus, and Ainudrilus, and show that the new species is more closely related to R. falciformis, R pigueti, R. okamikae and R. subterraneus, than to R. sinicus, another Chinese species, R. hiemalis and R. coccineus.

RESUMO

This paper investigates the effect of crop insurance-subsidies on agricultural land-use allocation. Since the objective of crop insurance is to help farmers with risk management, the expected profit from crop production under crop insurance might be improved, leading farmers to allocate more land to crop production. In this paper, agricultural land-use type is classified by irrigated/unirrigated farmland and cropland/woodland/pastureland. The data come from counties from all the continental states. Considering the fractional outcome of land-use share, we apply a multinomial-fractional-logit model to estimate the effects. The results show that insurance subsidies have a significant effect on land-use allocation. An increase in insurance subsidies increases farmland-share, indicating insurance subsidies could be an efficient tool to adjust agricultural land-use allocation.

RESUMO

INTRODUCTION: The osteoporosis self-assessment tool for Asians (OSTA) is a common screening tool for osteoporosis. The seventh thoracic CT (CT-T7) Hounsfield unit (HU) measured by chest CT correlates with osteoporosis. This study aimed to investigate the diagnostic value of OSTA alone, CT-T7 alone, or the combination of OSTA and CT-T7 in osteoporosis. MATERIALS AND METHODS: In this study, 1268 participants were grouped into 586 men and 682 women. We established multiple linear regression models by combining CT-T7 and OSTA. Receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves were used to evaluate the ability to diagnose osteoporosis. RESULTS: In the male group, the mean age was 59.02 years, and 108 patients (18.4%) had osteoporosis. In the female group, the mean age was 63.23 years, and 308 patients (45.2%) had osteoporosis. By ROC curve comparison, the CT-T7 (male, AUC = 0.789, 95% CI 0.745-0.832; female, AUC = 0.835, 95% CI 0.805-0.864) in the diagnosis of osteoporosis was greater than the OSTA (male, AUC = 0.673, 95% CI 0.620-0.726; female, AUC = 0.775, 95% CI 0.741-0.810) in both the male and female groups (p < 0.001). When OSTA was combined with CT, the equation of multiple linear regression (MLR) was obtained as follows: female = 3.020-0.028*OSTA-0.004*CT-T7. In the female group, it was found that the AUC of MLR (AUC = 0.853, 95% CI 0.825-0.880) in the diagnosis of osteoporosis was larger than that of CT-T7 (p < 0.01). When the MLR was 2.65, the sensitivity and specificity were 53.9% and 90%, respectively. CONCLUSION: For a patient who has completed chest CT, CT-T7 (HU) combined with OSTA is recommended to identify the high-risk population of osteoporosis, and it has a higher diagnostic value than OSTA alone or CT-T7 alone, especially among females. For a female with MLR greater than 2.65, further DXA examination is needed.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is the leading cause of chronic liver diseases worldwide. We provided a comprehensive description regarding the disease burden of NAFLD in 204 countries and territories. MATERIALS AND METHODS: We reported the deaths and disability-adjusted life years (DALYs) related to NAFLD in the Global Burden of Disease database by sex, age, specific causes, and regions. Estimated annual percentage change was applied to describe the changing trends. RESULTS: Globally, the NAFLD-related deaths and DALYs in 2019 were 0.17 million [95% uncertainty interval (UI): 0.13 to 0.21] and 4.42 million (95% UI: 3.35 to 5.67), increased by 80.2% and 62.9% compared with 1990, respectively. The overall age-standardized rate of mortality and DALYs (ASMR and ASDR) showed a downward trend from 1990 to 2019, the estimated annual percentage change were -0.67 (95% confidence interval: -0.76, -0.57) and -0.82 (95% confidence interval: -0.93, -0.7), respectively. NAFLD-related deaths due to cirrhosis and liver cancer increased by 76.7% and 95.1% between 1990 and 2019. The ASMR and ASDR were the highest in the middle and low sociodemographical index regions in 2019, respectively. Of the 21 Global Burden of Disease regions, Eastern Europe, Central Asia, High-income North America, and Australasia experienced an increase in both ASMR and ASDR. CONCLUSIONS: NAFLD imposes heavy disease burden on humankind worldwide, especially in countries with low-to-middle sociodemographical index level. More potent measures are urgently needed in regions with rising age-standardized rate to forestall the increase of NAFLD disease burden.

RESUMO

Background: It is necessary to select suitable inactivated poliovirus vaccine(IPV) and live, attenuated oral poliovirus vaccine (OPV) sequential immunization programs and configure the corresponding health resources. An economic evaluation was conducted on the sequential procedures of Sabin strain-based IPV (sIPV) and bivalent OPV (bOPV) with different doses to verify whether a cost-effectiveness target can be achieved. This study aimed to evaluate the cost-effectiveness of different sIPV immunization schedules, which would provide convincing evidence to further change the poliovirus vaccine (PV) immunization strategies in China. Methods: Five strategies were included in this analysis. Based on Strategy 0(S0), the incremental cost (IC), incremental effect (IE), and incremental cost-effectiveness ratio (ICER) of the four different strategies (S1/S2/S3/S4) were calculated based on the perspective of the society. Seven cost items were included in this study. Results of field investigations and expert consultations were used to calculate these costs. Results: The ICs of S1/S2/S3/S4 was Chinese Yuan (CNY) 30.77, 68.58, 103.82, and 219.82 million, respectively. The IE of vaccine-associated paralytic poliomyelitis (IEVAPP) cases of S1/S2/S3/S4 were 0.22, 0.22, 0.22, and 0.11, respectively, while the IE of disability-adjusted life-years (IEDALY) of S1/S2/S3/S4 were 8.98, 8.98, 8.98, and 4.49, respectively. The ICERVAPP of S1/S2/S3/S4 gradually increased to CNY 13.99, 31.17, 47.19, and 199.83 million/VAPP, respectively. The ICERDALY of S1/S2/S3/S4 also gradually increased to CNY 0.34, 0.76, 1.16, and 4.90 million/DALY, respectively. Conclusion: ICERVAPP and ICERDALY were substantially higher for S3 (four-sIPV) and S4 (replacement of self-funded sIPV based on one-sIPV-three-bOPV). Two-sIPV-two-bOPV had a cost-effectiveness advantage, whereas S2/S3/S4 had no cost-effectiveness advantage.

RESUMO

This paper aims to apply the time-varying Granger causality test (TVGC) and the DY Spillover Index (Diebold and Yilmaz, 2012) to measure the Granger causality and dynamic risk spillover effects of the international crude oil futures market on China's agricultural commodity futures market from the perspectives of return and volatility spillovers. Empirical evidence relating to the TVGC test suggests the existence of unidirectional Granger causality between crude oil futures and agricultural product futures. This relationship shows a strong time-varying property, in particular for sudden or extreme events such as financial crises and natural disasters. On the other hand, the volatility spillover in crude oil and agricultural product futures markets responds asymmetrically and bidirectionally according to the result of the DY Spillover index, and the periodicity of total volatility spillover correlates closely with the occurrence of global economic events, which indicates that the spillover effect between crude oil and agricultural commodity futures markets will be exacerbated in turbulent financial and economic times. Such findings are expected to help in formulating policy recommendations, portfolio design, and risk-management decisions.

RESUMO

The ocean resources have been rapidly depleted in the recent decade, and the complementary role of aquaculture to food security has become more critical than ever before. Water quality is one of the key factors in determining the success of aquaculture and real-time water quality monitoring is an important process for aquaculture. This paper proposes a low-cost and easy-to-build artificial intelligence (AI) buoy system that autonomously measures the related water quality data and instantly forwards them via wireless channels to the shore server. Furthermore, the data provide aquaculture staff with real-time water quality information and also assists server-side AI programs in implementing machine learning techniques to further provide short-term water quality predictions. In particular, we aim to provide a low-cost design by combining simple electronic devices and server-side AI programs for the proposed buoy system to measure water velocity. As a result, the cost for the practical implementation is approximately USD 2015 only to facilitate the proposed AI buoy system to measure the real-time data of dissolved oxygen, salinity, water temperature, and velocity. In addition, the AI buoy system also offers short-term estimations of water temperature and velocity, with mean square errors of 0.021 °C and 0.92 cm/s, respectively. Furthermore, we replaced the use of expensive current meters with a flow sensor tube of only USD 100 to measure water velocity.
