RESUMO

Actinidia arguta, the most widely distributed Actinidia species and the second cultivated species in the genus, can be distinguished from the currently cultivated Actinidia chinensis on the basis of its small and smooth fruit, rapid softening, and excellent cold tolerance. Adaptive evolution of tetraploid Actinidia species and the genetic basis of their important agronomic traits are still unclear. Here, we generated a chromosome-scale genome assembly of an autotetraploid male A. arguta accession. The genome assembly was 2.77 Gb in length with a contig N50 of 9.97 Mb and was anchored onto 116 pseudo-chromosomes. Resequencing and clustering of 101 geographically representative accessions showed that they could be divided into two geographic groups, Southern and Northern, which first diverged 12.9 million years ago. A. arguta underwent two prominent expansions and one demographic bottleneck from the mid-Pleistocene climate transition to the late Pleistocene. Population genomics studies using paleoclimate data enabled us to discern the evolution of the species' adaptation to different historical environments. Three genes (AaCEL1, AaPME1, and AaDOF1) related to flesh softening were identified by multi-omics analysis, and their ability to accelerate flesh softening was verified through transient expression assays. A set of genes that characteristically regulate sexual dimorphism located on the sex chromosome (Chr3) or autosomal chromosomes showed biased expression during stamen or carpel development. This chromosome-level assembly of the autotetraploid A. arguta genome and the genes related to important agronomic traits will facilitate future functional genomics research and improvement of A. arguta.

RESUMO

INTRODUCTION: Various associations between social factors and motoric cognitive risk syndrome (MCR) have been reported. However, whether social frailty (integrated from multiple social factors) is associated with MCR is still unclear. METHODS: We included 4657 individuals without MCR at Round 1 of the NHATS as the discovery sample, and 3075 newly recruited individuals from Round 5 of the NHATS as the independent validation sample. Social frailty was assessed by five social items. MCR was defined as the presence of both subjective cognitive complaints and slow gait speed in individuals without dementia or mobility disability. RESULTS: Compared with normal individuals, those with social frailty had higher risk of incident MCR (hazard ratio [HR]: 1.57, 95% confidence interval [CI]: 1.34-1.84). Each additional unfavorable social item was associated with an increased risk of MCR (HR: 1.32, 95% CI: 1.22-1.43). DISCUSSION: Social frailty was associated with an increased risk of incident MCR in older adults. HIGHLIGHTS: Various associations between social factors and motoric cognitive risk syndrome (MCR) have been reported. Social frailty that integrated from multiple social factors was associated with an increased risk of incident MCR. Social frailty should be included in the early screening of individuals to identify those at higher risk of MCR.

RESUMO

Perennial monocarpic mass flowering represents as a key developmental innovation in flowering time diversity in several biological and economical essential families, such as the woody bamboos and the shrubby Strobilanthes. However, molecular and genetic mechanisms underlying this important biodiversity remain poorly investigated. Here, we generated a full-length transcriptome resource incorporated into the BlueOmics database (http://blueomics.iflora.cn) for two Strobilanthes species, which feature contrasting flowering time behaviors. Using about 112 and 104 Gb Iso-seq reads together with ~185 and ~75 Gb strand-specific RNA seq data, we annotated 80 971 and 79 985 non-redundant full-length transcripts for the perennial polycarpic Strobilanthes tetrasperma and the perennial monocarpic Strobilanthes biocullata, respectively. In S. tetrasperma, we identified 8794 transcripts showing spatiotemporal expression in nine tissues. In leaves and shoot apical meristems at two developmental stages, 977 and 1121 transcripts were differentially accumulated in S. tetrasperma and S. biocullata, respectively. Interestingly, among the 33 transcription factors showing differential expression in S. tetrasperma but without differential expression in S. biocullata, three were involved potentially in the photoperiod and circadian-clock pathway of flowering time regulation (FAR1 RELATED SEQUENCE 12, FRS12; NUCLEAR FACTOR Y A1, NFYA1; PSEUDO-RESPONSE REGULATOR 5, PRR5), hence provides an important clue in deciphering the flowering diversity mechanisms. Our data serve as a key resource for further dissection of molecular and genetic mechanisms underpinning key biological innovations, here, the perennial monocarpic mass flowering.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Laparoscopic colorectal surgery has been proved to have similar oncological outcomes with open surgery. Due to the lack of tactile perception, surgeons may have misjudgments in laparoscopic colorectal surgery. Therefore, the accurate localization of a tumor before surgery is important, especially in the early stages of cancer. Autologous blood was thought a feasible and safe tattooing agent for preoperative endoscopic localization but its benefits remain controversial. We therefore proposed this randomized trial to the accuracy and safety of autogenous blood localization in small, serosa-negative lesion which will be resected by laparoscopic colectomy. METHODS: The current study is a single-center, open-label, non-inferiority, randomized controlled trial. Eligible participants would be aged 18-80 years and diagnosed with large lateral spreading tumors that could not be treated endoscopically, malignant polyps treated endoscopically that required additional colorectal resection, and serosa-negative malignant colorectal tumors (≤ cT3). A total of 220 patients would be randomly assigned (1:1) to autologous blood group or intraoperative colonoscopy group. The primary outcome is the localization accuracy. The secondary endpoint is adverse events related to endoscopic tattooing. DISCUSSION: This trial will investigate whether autologous blood marker achieves similar localization accuracy and safety in laparoscopic colorectal surgery compared to intraoperative colonoscopy. If our research hypothesis is statistically proved, the rational introduction of autologous blood tattooing in preoperative colonoscopy can help improve identification of the location of tumors for laparoscopic colorectal cancer surgery, performing an optimal resection, and minimizing unnecessary resections of normal tissues, thereby improving the patient's quality of life. Our research data will also provide high quality clinical evidence and data support for the conduction of multicenter phase III clinical trials. TRIAL REGISTRATION: This study is registered with ClinicalTrials.gov, NCT05597384. Registered 28 October 2022.

RESUMO

Expensive gold-based catalysts are frequently used for electrochemical CO2 reduction into CO. A feasible approach to obtain low-cost Au-based catalysts is needed. Herein, a novel framework 1 assembled from [Zr48 Ni6 ] nano-cages is prepared. It exhibits a high BET surface area of 1569 m2 g-1 and high solvents/pH stability. 1 can not only selectively extract AuCl4 - from artificial electronic waste, but can then be transformed into low-cost catalyst Au nanoparticle@1-x (Au NPs@1-x, x=1, 2, 3, 4) with tuneable Au NPs sizes. The CO2 RR investigations revealed that the Au NPs@1-3 displayed an excellent FECO of 95.2 % with a current density of 102.9 mA cm-2 at -1.1 V, and such high catalytic activity can be maintained for at least 15 h without obvious decrease because the confinement effect of [Zr48 Ni6 ] nano-cages prevents Au NPs agglomeration. This work offers a facile strategy to obtain low-cost and high-performance Au-based catalysts for various reactions activated by Au.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: To investigate the prognostic value of interim 18F-FDG PET/CT in patients with diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL). METHODS: A total of 97 patients with pathologically diagnosed DLBCL at Sichuan Cancer Hospital and Institute from March 2015 to June 2020 were enrolled in this retrospective study. Receiver operating characteristic analysis (ROC) was used to calculate the optimum maximum standard uptake value reduction ratio (△SUVmax%) cut-off value. The prognostic value of △SUVmax% and Deauville five-point scale (5-PS) in patients with DLBCL was compared, and the determined prognostic factors were analyzed. RESULTS: ROC curve indicated that the optimum △SUV max% cut-off value was 74.9%. Patients with △SUVmax%≥74.9% had a lower rate of progression or recurrence than those with △SUVmax% < 74.9% (both P<0.001). Meanwhile, patients with 5-PS score < 4 also had a lower rate of progression or recurrence than those with 5-PS score≥4 (both P<0.001). △SUVmax% and 5-PS had high specificity (83.7% vs 83.7%) and negative predictive value (87.3% vs 84.9%), while low sensitivity (56.0% vs 52.2%) and positive predictive value (53.8% vs 50.0%). △SUVmax% was more sensitive than 5-PS for the corresponding parameters (78.3% vs 76.2%). Univariate analysis showed that Ann Arbor stage, international prognostic index of National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN-IPI), △SUVmax% and 5-PS were associated with TTP and PFS (all P<0.001). Multivariate analysis showed that △SUVmax% was an independent predictor of TTP and PFS (P=0.031, P=0.023). CONCLUSION: Both 5-PS and △SUVmax% can be used to evaluate the prognosis of DLBCL patients, but the predictive value of △SUVmax% is superior to that of 5-PS.

RESUMO

Viruses are the most abundant form of life on earth and play important roles in a broad range of ecosystems. Currently, two methods, whole genome shotgun metagenome (WGSM) and viral-like particle enriched metagenome (VLPM) sequencing, are widely applied to compare viruses in various environments. However, there is no critical assessment of their performance in recovering viruses and biological interpretation in comparative viral metagenomic studies. To fill this gap, we applied the two methods to investigate the stool virome in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) patients and healthy controls. Both WGSM and VLPM methods can capture the major diversity patterns of alpha and beta diversities and identify the altered viral profiles in the HCC stool samples compared with healthy controls. Viral signatures identified by both methods showed reductions of Faecalibacterium virus Taranis in HCC patients' stool. Ultra-deep sequencing recovered more viruses in both methods, however, generally, 3 or 5 Gb were sufficient to capture the non-fragmented long viral contigs. More lytic viruses were detected than lysogenetic viruses in both methods, and the VLPM can detect the RNA viruses. Using both methods would identify shared and specific viral signatures and would capture different parts of the total virome.

RESUMO

68Ga labeled FAPI is the current standard for FAPI-PET, but its batch activity is limited. [18F]AlF-NOTA-FAPI-04 is a promising alternative combining the advantages of a chelator-based radiolabeling method with the unique properties of fluorine-18. The objective of this study was to develop a quick automatic method for synthesis of [18F]AlF-NOTA-FAPI-04 using a AllinOne synthesis system, and perform PET imaging with [18F]AlF-NOTA-FAPI-04 on patients. [18F]AlF-NOTA-FAPI-04 was produced, and its quality control was conducted by HPLC equipped with a radioactive detector. [18F]AlF-NOTA-FAPI-04 PET/CT imaging was performed in normal BALB/c mice (n = 3) and 4T1 breast cancer models (n = 3) to determine its biodistribution. Then [18F]AlF-NOTA-FAPI-04 and 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG) PET/CT imaging were performed in an invasive ductal carcinoma patient (female, 54 years old). The synthesis time of [18F]AlF-NOTA-FAPI-04 was about 25 min, and the radiochemical yield was 26.4 ± 1.5% (attenuation correction, n = 10). The radiochemical purity was above 99.0% and was above 98.0% after 6 h. The product was colorless transparent solution with pH value of 7.0-7.5, and the specific activity was 49.41 ± 3.19 GBq/µmol. PET/CT imaging in mice showed that physiological uptake of [18F]AlF-NOTA-FAPI-04 was mainly in the biliary system and bladder, and [18F]AlF-NOTA-FAPI-04 highly concentrated in tumor xenografts. PET/CT imaging in the patient showed that [18F]AlF-NOTA-FAPI-04 obtained high tumor background ratio (TBR) value of 8.44 in segment V and VI, while TBR value was 2.55 by 18F-FDG. [18F]AlF-NOTA-FAPI-04 could be synthesized with high radiochemical yield and batch production by AllinOne module and show excellent diagnosis performance in cancer patients.

RESUMO

A laminated paper-based analytical device (LPAD) for histidine detection was fabricated from a chromatography filtration paper and laminate films. Histidine recognition was effected by histidyl-tRNA synthetase (HisRS), and its detection was signaled colorimetrically based on the molybdenum blue reaction. The analytical conditions and detectable concentration range of histidine were examined. The method provided selective quantification from 1 to 100 µM histidine. LPAD fabrication is considerably simple, involving only the craft-cutting of the chromatography filtration paper and laminate film, and is cost-effective.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: Vasculogenic mimicry (VM) is a novel mechanism of tumor blood supply distinct from endothelial vessel (EV). VM is associated with malignancy, invasion, metastasis, and poor prognosis. Hitherto a noninvasive method for the assessment of VM in vivo has been lacking. METHODS: Contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) was performed to evaluate the quantitative parameters of tumors in mice. CD31 immunohistochemistry-Periodic Acid-Schiff double staining was conducted to identify the VM or EV in tumor tissues. Correlations between perfusion parameters and VM density was analyzed by Pearson correlation test. RESULTS: By the 15th day after tumor inoculation, the EV and VM density was 31.15 ± 7.14 and 14.11 ± 2.99 per 200× field. The maximal intensity (IMAX) was 301.19 ± 191.56%, and the rise time (RT), time to peak (TTP) and mean transit time (mTT) were 17.38 ± 7.82 s, 20.27 ± 9.61 s and 58.09 ± 26.44 s, respectively. VM density positively correlated to RT (r = 0.3598, P = 0.0226), TTP (r = 0.3733, P = 0.0177) and mTT(r = 0.6483, P <  0.0001), whereas EV density positively correlated to IMAX (r = 0.4519, P = 0.0034). The vascular diameter of VM was substantially larger than that of EV (43.81 ± 5.88 µm vs 11.21 ± 4.13 µm). CONCLUSION: Three quantitative parameters related to VM were obtained and the relationships between CEUS and VM were established. CEUS might thus provide a novel noninvasive method to assess VM in vivo.

RESUMO

We aimed to develop a high-throughput deep DNA sequencing assay of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) to identify clinically relevant oncogenic mutations that contribute to the development of glioblastoma (GBM) and serve as biomarkers to predict patients' responses to surgery. For this purpose, we recruited five patients diagnosed with highly suspicious GBM according to preoperative magnet resonance imaging. Subsequently, patients were histologically diagnosed with GBM. CSF was obtained through routine lumbar puncture, and plasma from peripheral blood was collected before surgery and 7 days after. Fresh tumor samples were collected using routine surgical procedures. Targeted deep sequencing was used to characterize the genomic landscape and identify mutational profile that differed between pre-surgical and post-surgical samples. Sequence analysis was designed to detect protein-coding exons, exon-intron boundaries, and the untranslated regions of 50 genes associated with cancers of the central nervous system. Circulating tumor DNAs (ctDNAs) were prepared from the CSF and plasma from peripheral blood. For comparison, DNA was isolated from fresh tumor tissues. Non-silent coding variants were detected in CSF and plasma ctDNAs, and the overall minor allele frequency (MAF) of the former corresponded to an earlier disease stage compared with that of plasma when the tumor burden was released (surgical removal). Gene mutation loads of GBMs significantly correlated with overall survival (OS, days) (Pearson correlation = -0.95, P = 0.01). We conclude that CSF ctDNAs better reflected the sequential mutational changes of driver genes compared with those of plasma ctDNAs. Deep sequencing of the CSF of patients with GBM may therefore serve as an alternative clinical assay to improve patients' outcomes.

RESUMO

Objective: To develop a physical- cognitive scale for assessment of frailty and compare the clinical features between the new scale and the conventional Fried criteria. Methods: 1757 individuals aged 70-84 were analyzed. Participants reporting three or more Fried phenotypes were grouped as frail patients (FP) whereas others as non-frail (NF). A score of Hasegawa's dementia scale (HDS-R) higher than 21.5 were classified as non-cognitive impairment group (NCI) group. By combining the cognitive and frailty criteria, participants manifesting three or more positive components out of the six were categorized into the Physical-cognitive frailty group (Pc-F) while others into non- Pc-F (Pc-NF). Results: Of all the participants, 46.7% (820) were males and 53.3% (937) were females. The mean age was 75.33 ± 3.90. 10.1% (178/1757) were evaluated as FP patients. The prevalence of CI was 53.2%; CI was much higher in the frail group (77.0%) than in the non-frail group (50.5%). Based on the new Pc-F scale, 163 out of 1579 NF participants were identified as Pc-F, and the prevalence of Pc-F reached 19.4% (341/1757). In the Pc-F group, there are more females, patients of advanced age, diabetes, stroke, CHD, CKD, metabolic syndrome, and high hs-CRP. Within the Pc-F group, patients with CI showed a higher incidence of exhaustion, low activity, weakness, and slowness than those without CI. Conclusions: Our study revealed a significantly worse status in frail participants with CI than without. Our new scale shows a stronger correlation between frailty and complications than the classic phenotype.

RESUMO

Motivation: Much global attention has been paid to antibiotic resistance in monitoring its emergence, accumulation and dissemination. For rapid characterization and quantification of antibiotic resistance genes (ARGs) in metagenomic datasets, an online analysis pipeline, ARGs-OAP has been developed consisting of a database termed Structured Antibiotic Resistance Genes (the SARG) with a hierarchical structure (ARGs type-subtype-reference sequence). Results: The new release of the database, termed SARG version 2.0, contains sequences not only from CARD and ARDB databases, but also carefully selected and curated sequences from the latest protein collection of the NCBI-NR database, to keep up to date with the increasing number of ARG deposited sequences. SARG v2.0 has tripled the sequences of the first version and demonstrated improved coverage of ARGs detection in metagenomes from various environmental samples. In addition to annotation of high-throughput raw reads using a similarity search strategy, ARGs-OAP v2.0 now provides model-based identification of assembled sequences using SARGfam, a high-quality profile Hidden Markov Model (HMM), containing profiles of ARG subtypes. Additionally, ARGs-OAP v2.0 improves cell number quantification by using the average coverage of essential single copy marker genes, as an option in addition to the previous method based on the 16S rRNA gene. Availability and implementation: ARGs-OAP can be accessed through http://smile.hku.hk/SARGs. The database could be downloaded from the same site. Source codes for this study can be downloaded from https://github.com/xiaole99/ARGs-OAP-v2.0. Supplementary information: Supplementary data are available at Bioinformatics online.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVES: To synthesize 3'-deoxy-3'-¹8F-fluorotyhymidine)(¹8F-FLT) using CFN-MPS-200 automatic synthesis module, and evaluate its distribution in Wistar rats. METHODS: We used 3-N-Boc-5!d-O-dimethoxytrityl-3!d-O-nosyl-thymidine (Boc-FLT)-percursor as raw material to synthesize ¹8F-FLT without residual solvents. Its radiochemical purity was confirmed with radio-HPLC and thin layer chromatography (TLC). Normal Wistar rats were injected with 18 F-FLT and underwent PET scanning. RESULTS: The entire preparation procedure took about 60 min, which resulted in a radio chemical yield of (24±5)% (after attenuation correction, n =20) and radiochemical purity of over 99%, with 1.11×108 Bq/mL specific activity. The ¹8F-FLT solution was colorless and had a pH value between 7.0-8.0. ¹8F-FLT was mainly concentrated in the kidney, bladder, liver, bone marrow and Liver of normal Wistar rats. CONCLUSION: Automated synthesis of ¹8F-FLT using CFN-MPS-200 is a stable method, with high yield, safety without solvent, and acceptable quality.

RESUMO

Some studies suggested that adequate vitamin D might reduce inflammation in adults. However, little is known about this association in early life. We aimed to determine the relationship between cord blood 25-hydroxyvitamin D (25(OH)D) and C-reactive protein (CRP) in neonates. Cord blood levels of 25(OH)D and CRP were measured in 1491 neonates in Hefei, China. Potential confounders including maternal sociodemographic characteristics, perinatal health status, lifestyle, and birth outcomes were prospectively collected. The average values of cord blood 25(OH)D and CRP were 39.43 nmol/L (SD = 20.35) and 6.71 mg/L (SD = 3.07), respectively. Stratified by 25(OH)D levels, per 10 nmol/L increase in 25(OH)D, CRP decreased by 1.42 mg/L (95% CI: 0.90, 1.95) among neonates with 25(OH)D <25.0 nmol/L, and decreased by 0.49 mg/L (95% CI: 0.17, 0.80) among neonates with 25(OH)D between 25.0 nmol/L and 49.9 nmol/L, after adjusting for potential confounders. However, no significant association between 25(OH)D and CRP was observed among neonates with 25(OH)D ≥50 nmol/L. Cord blood 25(OH)D and CRP levels showed a significant seasonal trend with lower 25(OH)D and higher CRP during winter-spring than summer-autumn. Stratified by season, a significant linear association of 25(OH)D with CRP was observed in neonates born in winter-spring (adjusted ß = -0.11, 95% CI: -0.13, -0.10), but not summer-autumn. Among neonates born in winter-spring, neonates with 25(OH)D <25 nmol/L had higher risk of CRP ≥10 mg/L (adjusted OR = 3.06, 95% CI: 2.00, 4.69), compared to neonates with 25(OH)D ≥25 nmol/L. Neonates with vitamin D deficiency had higher risk of exposure to elevated inflammation at birth.

RESUMO

To assess the diagnostic efficacy of diffusion-weighted MR imaging (DWI) for evaluating inflammatory activity in patients with Crohn's disease (CD). A total of 47 CD patients underwent MR enterography (MRE) and DWI using 3 b values of 50, 400, and 800 s/mm. Apparent diffusion coefficients (ADCs) of inflamed and normal bowel wall were calculated. The conventional MRE findings and DWI signal intensities were qualitatively scored from 0 to 3. The correlation between Crohn disease activity index (CDAI) and both ADCs and magnetic resonance imaging scores was analyzed. Receiver-operating characteristic curve analysis was used to determine the diagnostic accuracy of CD activity. Of the 47 patients, 25 were active CD (CDAI≥150) and 22 were inactive (CDAI<150). Diffusion-weighted MR imaging and MRE + DWI scores of active CD were significantly higher than that of inactive CD (both P < 0.001). Apparent diffusion coefficients in inflamed segments of active CD were lower than that of inactive CD (P < 0.001). The DWI scores (r = 0.74, P < 0.001), ADCs (r = -0.71, P < 0.001), MRE scores (r = 0.54, P < 0.001), and MRE + DWI scores (r = 0.66, P < 0.001) were all correlated with CDAI. The areas under the receiver-operating characteristics curves for ADCs, DWI scores, MRE scores, and MRE + DWI scores ranged from 0.83 to 0.98. The threshold ADC value of 1.17 × 10 mm/s allowed differentiation of active from inactive CD with 100% sensitivity and 88% specificity. Diffusion-weighted MR imaging and ADC correlated with CD activity, and had excellent diagnostic accuracy for differentiating active from inactive CD.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Rapid urbanization in China has led to a proliferation of electronic entertainment media among youth. Prolonged screen time (ST; includes watching television and playing on computers, video game consoles, or mobile phones) is linked to poor health profiles. The aim of this study was to report recreational ST behaviors and ST correlates among Chinese adolescents living in two regions with different degrees of urbanization. METHODS: A cross-sectional, school-based survey (n = 3461 adolescents; aged 12-14 years old) living in inner-city Shanghai and a peri-urban region of Hangzhou. Students completed a questionnaire including family characteristics, daily ST, and information on family environment related to screen use. Recreational ST was categorized into two groups according to recommendations by the American Academy of Pediatrics (< or ≥2 h/day). Parents reported their own ST and also reported educational attainment as a proxy for socioeconomic status. RESULTS: ST was higher among boys than girls and on weekends than weekdays. Peri-urban girls were more likely to exceed 2 h/day ST compared to inner-city girls on weekends. Having a father with no university degree, mother's TV viewing ≥2 h/day, no ST rules at home, and eating meals in front of the TV were associated with higher ST on both weekdays and weekends, and regional differences were found for weekend ST. CONCLUSIONS: TV viewing and playing on the computer were the most prevalent ST behaviors among Chinese adolescents. Mobile phone playing was less prevalent but persistent throughout the week. More population-level surveillance and research is needed to monitor the trends in ST behaviors and to better understand the characteristics of those who are at risk.

RESUMO

Along with global environmental pollution resulting from economic development, heavy metal poisoning in children has become an increasingly serious health problem in the world. It can lead to renal injury, which tends to be misdiagnosed due to the lack of obvious or specific early clinical manifestations in children. Early prevention, diagnosis and intervention are valuable for the recovery of renal function and children's good health and growth. This paper reviews the mechanism of renal injury caused by heavy metal poisoning in children, as well as the clinical manifestations, diagnosis, and prevention and treatment of renal injury caused by lead, mercury, cadmium, and chromium.

RESUMO

Shifting path of industrial pollution gravity centers is the response of environmental special formation during the industry transfer process, in order to prove the responding of industrial pollution gravity centers to industry transfer in economically developed areas, this paper calculates the gravity centers of industrial wastewater, gas and solid patterns and reveals the shifting path and its driving mechanism, using the data of industrial pollution in the Pan-Yangtze River Delta from 2000 to 2010. The results show that the gravity center of the industrial waste in Pan-Yangtze River Delta shifts for sure in the last 10 years, and gravity center of solid waste shifts the maximum distance within the three wastes, which was 180.18 km, and shifting distances for waste gas and waste water were 109.51 km and 85.92 km respectively. Moreover, the gravity center of the industrial waste in Pan-Yangtze River Delta shifts westwards, and gravity centers of waste water, gas and solid shift for 0.40 degrees, 0.17 degrees and 0.03 degrees respectively. The shifting of industrial pollution gravity centers is driven by many factors. The rapid development of the heavy industry in Anhui and Jiangxi provinces results in the westward shifting of the pollutions. The optimization and adjustment of industrial structures in Yangtze River Delta region benefit to alleviating industrial pollution, and high-polluting industries shifted to Anhui and Jiangxi provinces promotes pollution gravity center shifting to west. While the development of massive clean enterprise, strong environmental management efforts and better environmental monitoring system slow the shifting trend of industrial pollution to the east in Yangtze River Delta. The study of industrial pollution gravity shift and its driving mechanism provides a new angle of view to analyze the relationship between economic development and environmental pollution, and also provides academic basis for synthetical management and control of environmental pollution in Pan-Yangtze River Delta, especially in the transition period.

RESUMO

ATP-binding cassette transporter A1 (ABCA1) is a membrane-associated protein which has attracted considerable attention as a candidate gene for Alzheimer's disease (AD) based on its function as a key factor in lipid metabolism by mediating cellular cholesterol efflux, the rate-limiting step in the production of nascent high-density lipoprotein (HDL) particles. The relationship between ABCA1 common variations (R219 K rs2230806, I883 M rs4149313 and R1587 K rs2230808) and AD has been reported in various ethnic groups; however, these studies have yielded contradictory results. To investigate this inconsistency, we performed a meta-analysis of 13 studies involving a total of 12,248 subjects to evaluate the effect of ABCA1 on genetic susceptibility for AD. Overall, the summary OR of AD was 1.01 (95 % CI: 0.93-1.10; P = 0.77), 1.10 (95 % CI: 0.96-1.26; P = 0.16), and 1.08 (95 % CI: 0.96-1.23; P = 0.21) for R219 K, I883 M and R1587 K polymorphism, respectively. No significant results were observed in dominant and recessive when compared with wild genotype for these polymorphisms. In the stratified analyses by ethnicity and sample size, no evidence of any gene-disease association was obtained. In conclusion, the present meta-analysis does not support the notion that common SNPs on ABCA1 is a major genetic risk factor for AD.
