RESUMO

Industrial structure adjustment is an effective way to reduce carbon emissions. When adjusting the industrial structure, changes in the input and output of industrial sectors in one region may cause changes in industrial sectors of other regions, resulting in inter-regional industrial linkages. What is the impact of industrial structure adjustment on the linkages, and how does it impact climate change? The modified gravity model combines the influence and inductive coefficients to build the carbon emission industrial spatial linkage network (ISL) using social network analysis (SNA) in this work with the data of China's 2008-2019 provincial carbon emissions. The impact of industrial structure adjustment on carbon emission industrial spatial linkage network and its effect on climate change mitigation are explored with the help of the STIRPAT model and quality assurance procedure (QAP). The results of this study are as follows: (1) The provincial carbon emissions under industrial spatial linkages show significant network characteristics, the network density increased from 0.1437 in 2008 to 0.323 in 2019. (2) There is a significant spatial spillover effect in the industrial spatial linkage network (2019) centered on Shandong and Jiangsu. The provinces can be divided into 4 blocks, which play different roles in the network. (3) The industrial structure upgrading can significantly promote the carbon emission industrial linkage network and mitigate climate change. (4) The industrial structure rationalization can promote the development of the network and mitigate climate change in the early and late development stages of carbon emissions industrial linkage. In addition, it is necessary for the government to pay more attention to the development level of the carbon emission spatial industrial linkage network when implementing industrial structure adjustment in response to climate change.

RESUMO

Municipal solid waste incineration (MSWI) has become a predominant emission source of polychlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxins and furans (PCDD/Fs). Research focusing on the impact of operating conditions, environmental changes, and operating time on the generation and emissions of PCDD/Fs has not been resolved. To this end, this study tracked and investigated the PCDD/Fs and 17 congener emissions of a typical grate incinerator (800 t/d) continuously for one year. Results showed that the PCDD/Fs concentration at the boiler outlet, stack inlet, and bag filter, including normal and abnormal operation conditions, ranges from 2.11E-02-41.86 ng I-TEQ/Nm3, 7.00E-04-6.76 ng I-TEQ/Nm3, and 1.12-2.90E+03 ng I-TEQ/Nm3, respectively. The 2,3,4,7,8-P5CDF has the highest contribution in all samples, in which a proportion of TEQ ranged from 30 % to 77.73 %. Moreover, by applying the correlation analysis between PCDD/Fs and operating parameters, the emission characteristic is mainly affected by incinerators and boilers during the normal period, and it is affected by the whole MSWI process under abnormal conditions. In addition, the PCDD/Fs emission from the MSWI plant gradually increases from spring to winter. This study is beneficial for supporting the control of PCDD/Fs emission reduction and assisting the operators to optimize the relevant operating parameters of the MSWI plant to achieve a stable and up-to-substandard emissions during the operation period.

RESUMO

Currently, the research or publications related to the clinical comprehensive evaluation of Chinese patent medicine are increasing, which attracts the broad attention of all circles. According to the completed clinical evaluation report on Chinese patent medicine, there are still practical problems and technical difficulties such as unclear responsibility of the evaluation organization, unclear evaluation subject, miscellaneous evaluation objects, and incomplete and nonstandard evaluation process. In terms of evaluation standards and specifications, there are different types of specifications or guidelines with different emphases issued by different academic groups or relevant institutions. The professional guideline is required to guide the standardized and efficient clinical comprehensive evaluation of Chinese patent medicine and further improve the authority and quality of evaluation. In combination with the characteristics of Chinese patent medicine and the latest research achievement at home and abroad, the detailed specifications were formulated from six aspects including design, theme selection, content and index, outcome, application and appraisal, and quality control. The guideline was developed based on the guideline development requirements of China Assoication of Chinese medicine. After several rounds of expert consensus and public consultation, the current version of the guideline has been developed.

RESUMO

Under the guidance of carbon peak and carbon neutral targets, the industrial structure transformation is vital for carbon emissions reduction in China. However, there is a rebound effect of carbon emissions during the industrial structure transformation. Resource dependence and technological progress have significant impacts on industrial structure transformation and its carbon reduction effect. This paper explores how industrial structure transformation under resource dependence causes the rebound effect from a technological progress perspective. The key results indicate that (1) resource dependence distorts the carbon emissions reduction effect of industrial structure transformation; (2) with the development of technology, the industrial structure upgrading under resource dependence could cause an increase on carbon emissions at the beginning, but the increase would be weakened subsequently, displaying a two-stage feature; (3) the industrial structure rationalization under resource dependence reduces carbon emissions at first, but the reduction would be weakened as the technology develops, then industrial structure's rationalization shows an insignificant impact on carbon emissions, and finally reduces carbon emissions again, presenting a four-stage characteristic; (4) environmental protection technology can correct the distortion effect of resource dependence on the industrial structure rationalization and amplify the industrial structure rationalization's reduction effects on carbon emissions; (5) with the development of energy-saving technology, industrial structure rationalization has a paradoxical impact on carbon emissions, the industrial structure rationalization first reduces, then increases, and finally reduces carbon emissions, indicating an inverted "N" relationship. Finally, policy recommendations for carbon emissions reduction are proposed from the perspective of industrial structure transformation and technological progress.

RESUMO

Tibetan medicine is an essential part of Chinese medicine and has unique theoretical experience and therapeutic advantages. According to the development principle of inheriting the essence, sticking to the truth, and keeping innovative, the supervision department should give clear and reasonable guidance considering the characteristics of Tibetan medicine, establish a standard system for quality control, clinical verification and evaluation, and accelerate the research and commercialization of new drugs. In view of the needs of drug supply-side reform and the current situation of Tibetan medicine and new pharmaceutical research, we ponder and provide suggestions on the confusion faced by the current supervision of Tibetan drug registration, hoping to contribute to the supervision strategy of Tibetan drug registration and the high-quality development of Tibetan medicine industry.

RESUMO

Purpose: Early childhood developmental delay remains problematic worldwide in terms of weight and the five domains of child development, including gross motor, fine motor, cognition, language, and social domains. Based on the World Health Organization (WHO) guideline and the theoretical domain framework, this study identified five key socioeconomic factors, such as parenting time during hospitalization, parental educational level, medical spending, distance to hospital, and medical insurance coverage, to describe how these five factors are associated with improved outcomes of developmental quotient (DQ) values and the weight of infants in a tertiary hospital. Methods: In this prospective observational study, clinical and socioeconomic data were collected. Clinical data included the weight and DQ values of infants and other data relevant to the birth of infants. A National Developmental Scale was used to observe infants in five domains and calculate the DQ values of infants. These five domains include gross motor, fine motor, cognition, language, and social domains. Parenting time during hospitalizations was observed by a research nurse. Other socioeconomic factors were reported by parents and verified with system information. Results: A total of 75 infants' parents were approached, of which 60 were recruited. The age of infants ranged from 75 to 274 days at the first admission. Increments of their weight and DQ values improved from -0.5 to 2.5 kg and from -13 to 63, respectively. More than half of the parents (54.1%) were at the level of minimum secondary education although the results were not statistically significant. However, there was a positive correlation between weight improvement and parenting time during hospitalization (r(58) = 0.258, p < 0.05), medical spending (r(58) = 0.327, p < 0.05), distance to hospital (r(58) = 0.340, p < 0.01), but there was a negative association with medical insurance coverage (r(58) =-0.256, p < 0.05). There was also a significant relationship between the improved DQ value and distance to hospital (r(58)= 0.424, p < 0.01). Conclusion: Parenting time during hospitalization, medical spending, distance to hospital, and medical insurance coverage are important factors for early childhood developmental delay in relation to possible hospital intervention and improved accessibility to health services for families in rural areas. Therefore, changes in the current medical scheme are needed because a universal medical subsidy among regions will reduce the financial burden of families and provide families with more access to the necessary health services that their children need.

RESUMO

The clinical comprehensive evaluation of Chinese patent medicine is an important direction in the evaluation of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM), which positively promotes the development of TCM industry. The evaluation system of Chinese patent medicine is helpful to comprehensively evaluate the clinical value of different Chinese patent medicine in the same category, different dosage forms, and specifications, from different manufacturers on the basis of evidence and value. The establishment of a scientific and reasonable comprehensive evaluation index system for Chinese patent medicine is an important prerequisite to ensure clinical value. However, there has been neither a recognized systematic review on the clinical comprehensive evaluation of Chinese patent medicine nor a methodological system used for reference. The evidence and value: impact on decision-making(EVIDEM), developed by the international research team, is used to evaluate the comprehensive value of medical interventions. EVIDEM provides a methodological tool for scientific decision-making to evaluate evidence and value for health technologies on the basis of the multi-criteria decision analysis(MCDA) model and health technology assessment(HTA). Based on the ongoing EVIDEM research, the present study put forward that EVIDEM-based clinical comprehensive evaluation of Chinese patent medicine consisted of four aspects, seven modules, and ten steps, which is expected to references and practical experience for the follow-up comprehensive evaluation of Chinese patent medicine in the TCM field.

RESUMO

The development of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) has always been highly valued and supported since 1949. However, Chinese medicine industry still faces great challenges in view of the current status of the industry and registration and approval of new products in recent years. Related policies also directly influence the development of the industry. The latest version of the Provisions for Drug Registration and Requirement on Registration Classification and Application Information of Traditional Chinese Medicines have been put into practice since 2020. Registration classification is the core content of the Chinese medicine registration management system, as it is closely related to the research, development, and registration of Chinese medicine and the innovative development of the industry. This article aims to systematically review the historical evolution of the category of Chinese medicine registration and analyze the current status and problems, which is expected to provide a reference for the formulation of supporting documents according to related laws and regulations.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Rice smut and rice blast are listed as two of the three major diseases of rice. Owing to the small size and similar structure of rice blast and rice smut spores, traditional microscopic methods are troublesome to detect them. Therefore, this paper uses microscopy image identification based on the synergistic judgment of texture and shape features and the decision tree-confusion matrix method. RESULTS: The distance transformation-Gaussian filtering-watershed algorithm method was proposed to separate the adherent rice blast spores, and the accuracy was increased by about 10%. Four shape features (area, perimeter, ellipticity, complexity) and three texture features (entropy, homogeneity, contrast) were selected for decision-tree model classification. The confusion-matrix algorithm was used to calculate the classification accuracy, in which global accuracy is 82% and the Kappa coefficient is 0.81. At the same time, the detection accuracy is as high as 94%. CONCLUSIONS: The synergistic judgment of texture and shape features and the decision tree-confusion matrix method can be used to detect rice disease quickly and precisely. The proposed method can be combined with a spore trap, which is vital to devise strategies early and to control rice disease effectively. © 2019 Society of Chemical Industry.

RESUMO

The concentrations of 16 polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), declared as carcinogens by USEPA, were measured in the sediment samples (n = 19) collected along Xinglin Bay rivers/canals present in Xiamen. PAHs were extracted using accelerated solvent extraction system and analyzed using gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS). The possible sources of PAHs and their health risk were investigated. Among selected PAHs, 13 PAHs were detected in the surface sediments. Total concentrations of PAHs in the surface sediments ranged from 413.00 to 2748.81 ng x g(-1), with a mean value of 949.56 ng x g(-1). The mean concentration of highly carcinogenic compounds such as benzo [k] fluoranthene (BkF) and benzo [g, h, i] perylene (BghiP) were 69.15 ng x g(-1) and 49.86 ng x g(-1), respectively and counted for 73.68% out of the total samples. The dominant PAH compounds were 2, 3 and 4 rings and counted for 61.03% and 23.53% , respectively; while 5-6 rings containing PAHs were accounted for 15.82%. According to the results, 68.42% of samples were moderately contaminated, while 31.58% were highly contaminated with PAHs. Based on the ratios of Ant/(Ant + Phe) and Fla/(Fla + Pyr), it cleared that PAHs in surface sediments were mainly derived from fossil fuel and combustion products. Principal component analysis results and sediment quality benchmarks (mSQG-Q) were used for risk assessment of these PAH contaminated sediments. The risk SQG-Q of 16 PAHs were less than 0.50. Comprehensive content, composition and SQG-Q showed that a certain degree of ecological risks of PAH pollution existed in the surface sediments, particularly in the sites close to Xinglin Industrial Zone (2, 3, 5 and 9) and Gangtou(13), which need further research work and proper attentions.

RESUMO

PURPOSE: Hepatic resection is arguably the preferred treatment for huge hepatocellular carcinoma (H-HCC). Estimating the remnant liver volume is therefore essential. This study aimed to evaluate the feasibility of using computer-assisted volumetric analysis for this purpose. METHODS: The study involved 40 patients with H-HCC. Laboratory examinations were conducted, and a contrast CT-scan revealed that 30 cases out of the participating 40 had single-lesion tumors. The remaining 10 had less than three satellite tumors. With the consensus of the team, two physicians conducted computer-assisted 3D segmentation of the liver, tumor, and vessels in each case. Volume was automatically computed from each segmented/labeled anatomical field. To estimate the resection volume, virtual lobectomy was applied to the main tumor. A margin greater than 1 cm was applied to the satellite tumors. Resectability was predicted by computing a ratio of functional liver resection (R) as (Vresected- Vtumor)/(Vtotal-Vtumor) x 100%, applying a threshold of 50% and 60% for cirrhotic and non-cirrhotic cases, respectively. This estimation was then compared with surgical findings. RESULTS: Out of the 22 patients who had undergone hepatectomies, only one had an R that exceeded the threshold. Among the remaining 18 patients with non-resectable H-HCC, 12 had Rs that exceeded the specified ratio and the remaining 6 had Rs that were < 50%. Four of the patients who had Rs less than 50% underwent incomplete surgery due to operative findings of more extensive satellite tumors, vascular invasion, or metastasis. The other two cases did not undergo surgery because of the high risk involved in removing the tumor. Overall, the ratio of functional liver resection for estimating resectability correlated well with the other surgical findings. CONCLUSION: Efficient pre-operative resectability assessment of H-HCC using computer-assisted volumetric analysis is feasible.

RESUMO

In the present paper, we describe the fabrication and analytical characteristics of fluorescence-based zinc ion-sensing glass slides. To construct the sensor, a benzoxazole derivative 4-benzoxazol-2'-yl-3-hydroxyphenyl allyl ether (1) with a terminal double bond was synthesized and copolymerized with 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate (HEMA) on the activated surface of glass slides by UV irradiation. In the absence of Zn(2+) at pH 7.24, the resulting optical sensor emitted fluorescence at 450 nm via excited-state intramolecular proton transfer (ESIPT). Upon binding with Zn(2+), the ESIPT process was inhibited resulting in a 46 nm blue-shift of fluorescence emission. Thus, the proposed sensor can behave as a ratiometric fluorescent sensor for the selective detection of Zn(2+). In addition, the sensor shows nice selectivity, good reproducibility and fast response time. Cd(2+) did not interfere with Zn(2+) sensing. The sensing membrane demonstrates a good stability with a lifetime of at least 3 months. The linear response range covers a concentration range of Zn(2+) from 8.0x10(-5) to 4.0x10(-3) mol/L and the detection limit is 4.0x10(-5) mol/L. The determination of Zn(2+) in both tap and river water samples shows satisfactory results.
