PURPOSE: To evaluate changes in dynamic cerebral autoregulation (CA) during short-term and long-term exposure to high altitude with ultrasonography, and also study the sex differences in the response of CA to altitude. METHODS: We assessed the differences in dynamic CA and measured with Doppler ultrasound of the bilateral internal carotid artery (ICA), vertebral artery (VA), and middle cerebral artery (MCA) and the values of basic information within 48 hours and at 2 years after arrival at Tibet in 65 healthy Han young Chinese volunteers, meanwhile, we compared the resistance index (RI) and pulsatility index (PI) of the right MCA at inhale oxygen 8 minutes when a newcomer with 2 years after arrival at Tibet. RESULTS: With 2 years of altitude exposure, the SaO2 of all subjects was above 90%, the mean PEF, DAP, and HR values decreased, HGB increased compared within 48 hours in same-gender groups. Comparisons of cerebral hemodynamics between before 2 years and after 2 years within male and female groups, the mean RI and PI values of bilateral MCA after 2 years were significantly higher than before 2 years, at the same time, the mean RI and PI values of bilateral ICA were significant differences (P < .05) between male groups, with regard to female groups, showed that the mean RI and PI values of bilateral VA were significant differences (P < .05). Comparisons of Right MCA hemodynamics between after oxygen uptake 8 minutes and 2 years, the mean RI and PI values were no significant difference within male and female groups (P > .05). CONCLUSIONS: Acute mountain sickness could result from an alteration of dynamic autoregulation of cerebral blood flow, but the impaired autoregulation may be corrected with the extension of time, furthermore, the response of CA to altitude in males and females are different.

Deep dewatering of Waste Activated Sludge (WAS) through mechanical processes remains inefficient, primarily due to the formation of a stable hydrogen bonding network between the biopolymers and water, which consequently leads to significant water trapped by Extracellular Polymeric Substances (EPS). In this study, a novel and recyclable treatment for WAS based on Ionic Liquids (ILs) was established, named IL-biphasic aqueous system (IL-ABS) treatment. Specifically, the IL-ABS formed in WAS facilitated rapid and efficient in-situ deep dewatering while concurrently recovering hydroxyapatite. The water content decreased from an initial 98.27 % to 65.35 % with IL-ABS, formed by 1-Butyl-3-methylimidazolium bromide (BmimBr) and K3PO4 synthesized from waste H3PO4. Moreover, the recycled BmimBr maintaining the water content of the dewatered sludge consistently between 65.61 % and 67.25 % across five cycles, exhibited remarkable reproducibility. Through three-dimensional excitation-emission matrix, lactate dehydrogenase analyses and confocal laser scanning microscopy, the high concentration of BmimBr in the upper phase effectively disrupted the cells and EPS, which exposed protein and polysaccharide on the EPS surface. Subsequently, the K3PO4 in the lower phase led to an enhanced salting-out effect in WAS. Furthermore, FT-IR analysis revealed that K3PO4 disrupted the original hydrogen bonds between EPS and water. Then, BmimBr formed numerous hydrogen bonds with the sludge flocs, leading to deep dewatering and agglomeration of the sludge flocs during the unique phase separation process of IL-ABS. Notably, sludge-derived hydroxyapatite product exhibited remarkable adsorption capacity for prevalent heavy metal contaminants such as Pb2+, Cd2+ and Cu2+, with efficiencies comparable to those of commercial hydroxyapatite, thereby achieving the resource utilization of waste H3PO4. Moreover, economic calculations demonstrated the suitability of this novel treatment. This innovative treatment exhibits potential for practical applications in the non-mechanical deep dewatering of WAS.

Digital transformation is an important strategic choice for agricultural enterprises to adapt to economic development in the new era. The innovation quality of patents with core technology and high commercial value is significantly higher than that of low-quality patents such as weak patents developed through technological imitation. This study investigates the impact of digital transformation on innovative high-quality development in the context of environmental regulation in agricultural enterprises for the timeframe from 2012 to 2020. The purpose of this study is to examine whether the goal of improving innovation quality can be achieved through digital transformation in agricultural companies. The results show that digital transformation can effectively promote the improvement of innovation quality in companies, and environmental regulation has a significant positive moderating effect on the relationship between them. "Violating agricultural operation" is a specific appellation for the diversified management of listed agricultural companies, and it is one of the management modes of agricultural enterprises. For listed agricultural companies, the greater the degree of enterprise diversification, the greater the degree of "violating agricultural operation". The influence mechanism test shows that "violating agricultural operation" plays a part in mediating effect in the process of digital transformation promoting innovation quality improvement.

In cognitive psychometrics, the parameters of cognitive models are used as measurements of the processes underlying observed behavior. In decision making, the diffusion decision model (DDM) is by far the most commonly used cognitive psychometric tool. One concern when using this model is that more recent theoretical accounts of decision-making place more emphasis on neural plausibility, and thus incorporate many assumptions not found in the DDM. One such model is the Ising Decision Maker (IDM), which builds from the assumption that two pools of neurons with self-excitation and mutual inhibition receive perceptual input from external excitatory fields. In this study, we investigate whether the lack of such mechanisms in the DDM compromises its ability to measure the processes it does purport to measure. We cross-fit the DDM and IDM, and find that the conclusions of DDM would be mostly consistent with those from an analysis using a more neurally plausible model. We also show that the Ornstein-Uhlenbeck Model (OUM) model, a variant of the DDM that includes the potential for leakage (or self-excitation), reaches similar conclusions to the DDM regarding the assumptions they share, while also sharing an interpretation with the IDM in terms of self-excitation (but not leakage). Since the OUM is relatively easy to fit to data, while being able to capture more neurally plausible mechanisms, we propose that it be considered an alternative cognitive psychometric tool to the DDM.

This study aims to systematically review the clinical features and outcome indicators in randomized controlled trial(RCT) of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) intervention in septic kidney injury and provide a reference for optimizing clinical study design and building the core outcome set(COS) of TCM treatment of septic kidney injury. Computer searches were conducted on PubMed, Cochrane Library, EMbase, Web of Science, CNKI, Wanfang, VIP, and SinoMed to find published RCT of TCM intervention in septic kidney injury in the past five years, extract the basic characteristics, intervention measures, outcome indicators, and other data of included studies, and conduct descriptive analysis. 53 RCTs were included, and the sample size was mostly concentrated in 60-80 cases, with abdominal infection being the most common(15 articles, 83.3%) and the TCM syndrome of blood stasis being the most frequent(9 articles, 50.0%). The frequency of intervention methods from high to low were TCM decoction(28 articles, 52.8%), Chinese patent medicine(22 articles, 41.5%), and combined TCM therapy(3 articles, 7.5%); the intervention time of the trial was more than 7 d(34 articles, 69.4%). The risk of bias in included studies was unclear. A total of 84 outcome indicators were involved, which were divided into 9 fields, including 63 physical and chemical tests(305 times, 72.2%), 4 kinds of disease degree(48 times, 11.6%), 4 kinds of clinical effective rate(15 times, 3.6%), 1 kind of quality of life(1 time, 0.2%), 2 kinds of economic evaluation(14 times, 3.3%), 1 kind of TCM disease(9 times, 2.1%), 2 kinds of long-term prognosis(16 times, 3.8%), 2 kinds of safety events(6 times, 1.4%), and 5 other indicators(8 times, 0.7%). The cumulative frequency was 422 times, among which the outcome indicators with higher frequency were inflammatory factors(42 articles, 79.2%) and markers of renal function and kidney injury(40 articles, 75.5%). Only 1(1.9%) of the included articles mentioned primary and secondary outcome indicators, and 6 articles(11.3%) mentioned safety events, 13 articles(24.5%) mentioned economic assessment. The RCT quality of TCM intervention in septic renal injury was generally low, and the reference standards for sepsis, kidney injury, and TCM syndrome diagnosis were not uniform. There are some problems in outcome indicators, such as unclear distinction between primary and secondary indicators, neglect of endpoint indicators, lack of application of TCM characteristic indicators, and insufficient attention to safety events and economic assessment. It is suggested that the quality of clinical research methodology should be improved in the future, and the COS should be constructed to provide high-level evidence-based evidence for TCM intervention in septic kidney injury.

The main purpose of this study was to explore the changes of biomarkers in different developmental stages of bleomycin-induced pulmonary fibrosis (PF) in rats via comprehensive pathophysiology, UPLC-QTOF/MS metabonomic technology, and 16S rRNA gene sequencing of intestinal microbiota. The rats were randomly divided into normal control and 1-, 2- and 4-week model group. The rat model of PF was established by one-time intratracheal instillation of bleomycin. The levels of inflammatory and fibrosis-related factors such as hydroxyproline (HYP), type III procollagen (COL-III), type IV collagen (COL-IV), hyaluronidase (HA), laminin (LN), interleukin (IL)-1ß, IL-6, malondialdehyde (MDA) increased and superoxide dismutase (SOD) decreased as the PF cycle progressed. In the 1-, 2- and 4-week model group, 2, 19 and 18 potential metabolic biomarkers and 3, 16 and 12 potential microbial biomarkers were detected, respectively, which were significantly correlated. Glycerophospholipid metabolism pathway was observed to be an important pathway affecting PF at 1, 2 and 4 weeks; arginine and proline metabolism pathways significantly affected PF at 2 weeks. Linoleic acid metabolism pathway exhibited clear metabolic abnormalities at 2 and 4 weeks of PF, and alpha-linolenic acid metabolism pathway significantly affected PF at 4 weeks.


In this study, metabolomics technology and intestinal microbiota 16S rRNA gene sequencing were used to search for biomarkers with significant differences in each stage of pulmonary fibrosis. Finally, the variation characteristics of each stage of the disease were discussed. The hope is to provide new insights into the development of diagnostic biomarkers and potential therapeutic targets at all stages.

OBJECTIVES: Heart failure (HF) is on the rise as a global health problem, but information on its burden in Asia is limited. This study aimed to assess the burden, trends, and underlying causes of HF in the Asian region. STUDY DESIGN AND METHODS: Data on HF in Asia from 1990 to 2019, including prevalence, years lived with disability (YLD), and underlying causes, were extracted from the Global Burden of Diseases 2019. The cases, the age-standardized prevalence, and the YLD were compared between the age groups, the sexes, the sociodemographic index, and the locations. The proportion of age-standardized prevalence rates of HF attributable to 16 underlying causes was also analyzed. RESULTS: In 2019, the age-standardized prevalence rate of HF per 100,000 persons in Asia was 722.45 (95% uncertainty interval [UI]: 591.97-891.64), with an estimated 31.89 million cases (95% UI: 25.94-39.25). From 1990 to 2019, the prevalence of age-standardized HF in Asia decreased by 4.51%, reflecting the global trend (-7.06%). Age-standardized YLD rates of HF exhibited patterns similar to prevalence rates. Among Asian countries, China had the highest age-standardized prevalence rate, followed by Kuwait and Jordan. Hypertensive heart disease was the leading cause of HF, followed by ischemic heart disease and rheumatic heart disease. CONCLUSIONS: Although the burden of HF in Asia showed a gradual decline between 1990 and 2019, it remains a significant health challenge that requires increased attention. Regional disparities in HF burden are evident, emphasizing the need for urgent prevention and control measures at the regional and national levels.

OBJECTIVE: To assess the effectiveness of indocyanine green (ICG)-guided lymph node (LN) dissection during laparoscopic radical gastrectomy after neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NAC) in patients with locally advanced gastric cancer (LAGC). BACKGROUND: Studies on ICG imaging use in patients with LAGC on NAC are rare. METHODS: Patients with gastric adenocarcinoma (clinical T2-4NanyM0) who received NAC were randomly assigned to receive ICG-guided laparoscopic radical gastrectomy or laparoscopic radical gastrectomy alone. Here, we reported the secondary endpoints including the quality of lymphadenectomy (total retrieved LNs and LN noncompliance) and surgical outcomes. RESULTS: Overall, 240 patients were randomized. Of whom, 236 patients were included in the primary analysis (118 in the ICG group and 118 in the non-ICG group). In the ICG group, the mean number of LNs retrieved was significantly higher than in the non-ICG group within the D2 dissection (48.2 vs 38.3, P < 0.001). The ICG fluorescence guidance significantly decreased the LN noncompliance rates (33.9% vs 55.1%, P = 0.001). In 165 patients without baseline measurable LNs, ICG significantly increased the number of retrieved LNs and decreased the LN noncompliance rate ( P < 0.05). For 71 patients with baseline measurable LNs, the quality of lymphadenectomy significantly improved in those who had a complete response ( P < 0.05) but not in those who did not ( P > 0.05). Surgical outcomes were comparable between the groups ( P > 0.05). CONCLUSIONS: ICG can effectively improve the quality of lymphadenectomy in patients with LAGC who underwent laparoscopic radical gastrectomy after NAC.

BACKGROUND: Better geographical accessibility to comprehensive emergency obstetric care (CEmOC) facilities can significantly improve pregnancy outcomes. However, with other factors, such as affordability critical for care access, it is important to explore accessibility across groups. We assessed CEmOC geographical accessibility by wealth status in the 15 most-populated Nigerian cities. METHODS: We mapped city boundaries, verified and geocoded functional CEmOC facilities, and assembled population distribution for women of childbearing age and Meta's Relative Wealth Index (RWI). We used the Google Maps Platform's internal Directions Application Programming Interface to obtain driving times to public and private facilities. City-level median travel time (MTT) and number of CEmOC facilities reachable within 60 min were summarised for peak and non-peak hours per wealth quintile. The correlation between RWI and MTT to the nearest public CEmOC was calculated. RESULTS: We show that MTT to the nearest public CEmOC facility is lowest in the wealthiest 20% in all cities, with the largest difference in MTT between the wealthiest 20% and least wealthy 20% seen in Onitsha (26 vs 81 min) and the smallest in Warri (20 vs 30 min). Similarly, the average number of public CEmOC facilities reachable within 60 min varies (11 among the wealthiest 20% and six among the least wealthy in Kano). In five cities, zero facilities are reachable under 60 min for the least wealthy 20%. Those who live in the suburbs particularly have poor accessibility to CEmOC facilities. CONCLUSIONS: Our findings show that the least wealthy mostly have poor accessibility to care. Interventions addressing CEmOC geographical accessibility targeting poor people are needed to address inequities in urban settings.


Access to critical obstetric care can be lifesaving for pregnant women and their offspring. However, socioeconomic factors are known to affect accessibility to health services across different groups. Here, we assessed peak and off-peak travel times to functional health facilities for women from 15 Nigerian cities, using travel time estimates produced by Google Maps and stratified by wealth status. Travel time to the nearest hospital and the number of hospitals reachable within 60 min varied across cities. The wealthiest 20% across all cities had the shortest travel time and vice versa for the least wealthy 20%. Women who live in the suburbs particularly have poor accessibility. Tailored action is needed to improve access for vulnerable populations living in urban settings.

Background: The COVID-19 pandemic highlighted the importance of urban parks to provide safe places to visit and recreate. Recent research has suggested that park visitation over this time may not have occurred equitably, which may exacerbate existing health disparities. However, usual methods of estimating park visitation are labor intensive, requiring better solutions.. The objective of this study was to assess how park visitation changed in Buffalo, New York after the start of the COVID-19 pandemic utilizing human mobility data. Methods: Monthly mobile phone location data from January 2018 through October of 2021 from residents of Buffalo were analyzed to estimate total park visits for each census tract. A generalized linear mixed effect model was utilized to examine if selected factors affected park visitation. Factors examined included demographic, health, park, and crime data at the census tract level. Results: Across 587,487 park visits that were captured in the 79 census tracts, park visitation increased by 25% since March 2020. In our regression model, having cancer and currently smoking had negative effects on park visitation. The start of the COVID-19 pandemic positively affected park visitation. Season (of the year), was the other statistically significant variable that affected park visitation. Conclusions: Anonymous mobile phone data demonstrated that park visitation has increased by 25% since the beginning of the pandemic when we looked at census tract level data. While some data limitations must be addressed, mobile phone data is a novel method that can be used to understand behavioral and public health trends.

Mice as a crucial tool for preclinical assessment of antineoplastic agents. The impact of physiological differences among mouse strains on the in vivo efficacy of antitumor drugs, however, has been significantly overlooked. Mononuclear phagocyte system (MPS) is the major player in clearance in vivo, and differences in MPS among different strains may potentially impact the effectiveness of antitumor preparations. Therefore, in this study, we employed conventional liposomes (CL-EPI) and SA-ODA modified liposomes (SAL-EPI) as model preparations to investigate the comprehensive tumor therapeutic effects of CL-EPI and SAL-EPI in KM, BALB/c, and C57BL/6 tumor-bearing mice. The results demonstrated significant variability in the efficacy of CL-EPI for tumor treatment across different mouse strains. Therefore, we should pay attention to the selection of animal models in the study of antitumor agents. SAL-EPI effectively targeted tumor sites by binding to Siglec-1 on the surface of peripheral blood monocytes (PBMs), and achieved good therapeutic effect in different mouse strains with little difference in treatment. The SA modified preparation is therefore expected to achieve a favorable therapeutic effect in tumor patients with different immune states through PBMs delivery (Siglec-1 was expressed in both mice and humans), thereby possessing clinical translational value and promising development prospects.

Background: The burden of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) among children and adolescents is rising globally, with substantial variation in levels and trends of disease in different countries and regions, while data on the burden and trends were sparse in children and adolescents. We aimed to assess the trends and geographical differences in children and adolescents aged zero to 19 in 204 countries and territories over the past 30 years. Methods: Data on IBD among children and adolescents was collected from the Global Burden of Disease (GBD) 2019 database from 1990 to 2019. We used the GBD data and methodologies to describe the change in the burden of IBD among children and adolescents involving prevalence, incidence, disability-adjusted life years (DALYs), and mortality. Results: Globally, the IBD prevalence cases increased between 1990 and 2019. Annual percentage changes (AAPC) = 0.15; 95% confidence interval (CI) = 0.11-0.19, and incidence cases of IBD increased from 20 897.4 (95% CI = 17 008.6-25 520.2 in 1990 to 25 658.6 (95% CI = 21 268.5-31 075.6) in 2019, representing a 22.78% increase, DALYs cases decreased between 1990 and 2019 (AAPC = -3.02; 95% CI = -3.15 to -2.89), and mortality cases of IBD decreased from 2756.5 (95% CI = 1162.6-4484.9) in 1990 to 1208.0 (95% CI = 802.4-1651.4) in 2019, representing a 56.17% decrease. Decomposition analysis showed that IBD prevalence and incidence increased significantly, and a trend exhibited a decrease in underlying age and population-adjusted IBD DALYs and mortality rates. Correlation analysis showed that countries with high health care quality and access (HAQ) had relatively higher IBD age-standardised prevalence rate (ASPR) and age-standardised incidence rate (ASIR), but lower age-standardised DALYs rate (ASDR) and age-standardised mortality rate (ASMR). Conclusions: Global prevalence and incidence rate of IBD among children and adolescents have been increasing from 1990 to 2019, while the DALYs and mortality have been decreasing. Rising prevalence and rising incidence in areas with historically low rates will have crucial health and economic implications.

The One Belt One Road Initiative (BRI) has been the subject of multitudinous studies from various angles. Most previous studies have focused on BRI's economic, geopolitical, or commercial implications for China. However, the few studies that focused on BRI's influence on the exportations or importations of Chinese products via the Chinese Cross-border Electronic Commerce Market (CCBECM) have been carried out based only on authors' opinions rather than on empirical evidence. Therefore, the actual effect of BRI on the exportations of Chinese product brands via CCBECM in BRI countries still needs to be discovered. Utilizing B2C exportation data of Chinese smartphones and a Difference-in Difference Model (DIDM), we have first examined the actual and direct impact of BRI policy on Chinese smartphone brands exportations via the Chinese Cross-border Electronic Commerce Market (CCBECM) from 2012 to 2019 in BRI countries. Secondly, we assessed the moderating role of GDP per capita (GDP) and Internet Access Rate (IAR) between BRI policy and exportations of Chinese smartphone brands. The results showed that the impact of BRI remains insignificant on the exportations of Chinese smartphones via CCBECM in BRI countries. However, it could be significant if BRI includes more developed and economically strong countries. The study also highlighted a negative moderating role of GDP per capita between BRI policy and exportations, showing that the higher the BRI effect is, the less GDP per capita will influence Chinese smartphone exportations in BRI countries.

Hence, to make the fullest use of natural resources, essential oils of different parts from Piper yunnanense (the whole part, PYW; fruits, PYF; leaves, PYL) and Piper boehmeriifolium (leaves, PBL) were extracted by steam distillation method in the present study. Gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) characterization revealed bicyclogermacrene (PYW), γ-muurolene (PYF), δ-cadinene (PYL) and methyl 4,7,10,13,16,19-docosahexaenoate (PBL) as the principal compound of each essential oil. Sesquiterpene hydrocarbons were also recognized as the richest class accounting for 56.3 %-94.9 % of the total oil. Three storage pests, Tribolium castaneum, Lasioderma serricorne and Liposceis bostrychophila, were exposed to different concentrations of EOs to determine their insecticidal effects. All tested samples performed modest contact toxicity in contrast to a bioactive ingredient pyrethrin, among which the most substantial effects were observed in PYF EOs against T. castaneum (35.84 µg/adult), PBL EOs against L. serricorne (15.76 µg/adult) and PYW EOs against L. bostrychophila (57.70 µg/cm2 ). In terms of repellency tests, essential oils of PYF at 78.63 nL/cm2 demonstrated to have a remarkable repellence against T. castaneum at 2h and 4h post-exposure. The investigations indicate diverse variations in the chemical profiles and insecticidal efficacies of P. yunnanense and P. boehmeriifolium EOs, providing more experimental evidence for the use of the Piper plants.

This data article presents data from the China Migrants Dynamic Survey (CMDS), a multi-wave, large-scale national cross-sectional survey of China's internal migrants from 2009 to 2018. The CMDS is an annual questionnaire survey conducted by the former National Health and Family Planning Commission (NHFPC) of the People's Republic of China. The respondents included in this survey are internal migrants over 15 years old. The sample was drawn from the China Migrant Population Information System, using multi-stage stratified sampling method and the probability proportional-to-size (PPS) cluster sampling strategy. Between 2009 and 2018, there were 1,527,650 internal migrants from 23 provinces, 5 autonomous regions and 4 municipalities participated in the surveys. The survey tools were a series of self-designed questionnaires with high inheritance and consistency designed and implemented by the NHFPC. The questionnaires mainly contain basic information of the respondents and their family members, migration status, healthcare or health behaviors, public health service utilization, social insurance, social integration, and family planning. The dataset is currently the most widely used survey data on China's internal migrants, offering information on migration patterns, healthcare and health behaviors, use of public health services, access to social security, social integration, and family planning, which are valuable for health planning, health decision-making, and health equity research.

BACKGROUND: The World Health Organization and the government of China have made many efforts to improve breastfeeding practices. The evidence of breastfeeding practices over the past decade in China is limited. The current study aimed to describe the current prevalence, variation trends, and determinants of breastfeeding practices in China using data from the National Household Health Service Surveys (NHHSS) in 2013 and 2018. METHODS: Women who had at least one live birth in the five years from the 2013 NHHSS numbered 10,544, and 12,766 women from the 2018 NHHSS were included in the current study. The rates of breastfeeding, early initiation of breastfeeding within the first hour after birth, exclusive breastfeeding for at least six months since birth, and continued breastfeeding accompanied by adequate complementary feeding for over two years were measured. Logistic regressions were performed to study the associations between breastfeeding practices and maternal-based, healthcare-based, and infant-based characteristics. RESULTS: In the 2018 survey, the rates of practiced any breastfeeding, early initiation of breastfeeding within the first hour after birth, exclusive breastfeeding for at least six months, and continued breastfeeding for over two years were 91.50%, 28.16%, 47.90%, and 4.78%, respectively, showing significant improvements compared to the 2013 survey period. Women who received high education, were from a household with high incomes, had more than one child, and had more antenatal and postnatal visits, were more likely to practice breastfeeding and initiate it within the first hour, but they were less likely to breastfeed the infants for two years. Births by caesarean section and low birthweight were associated with worse breastfeeding practices. CONCLUSIONS: The rates of practicing breastfeeding and exclusive breastfeeding for six months or more in China improved over the past decades, suggesting improved awareness and knowledge of breastfeeding among women. However, individual and social factors may impact practices of early initiation and continued breastfeeding. Strengthening breastfeeding support from family, community, and health professionals (e.g., family member engagement, friendly work environment, and professional consultation, etc.) during the postpartum and infant period may improve women's confidence in breastfeeding practices.

The study explores the direct and mediated impacts of customers' perception of purchase budget (BGT) on purchase intention (PIT) through perceived quality (PPQ), perceived price (PPR), and perceived benefit (PB) in a cross-country setting to understand BGT's role in predicting customer purchase intention in smartphone selling through international online shopping platforms. An online survey was conducted in Kenya, France, and the United States to gather data from 429 consumers who had recently purchased one or more smartphones through international online shopping platforms. SmartPLS-4 was used to test the hypotheses. Results for the entire sample showed a significantly positive mediating role of PPR and PPQ between BGT and PIT. However, the mediating roles of PPQ and PB were not significant in the samples from Kenya, France, and the United States. The results also showed that PPR plays a significant and positive mediating role between BGT and PIT in samples from Kenya, France, the United States, and overall. However, the direct relationships between BGT and PPQ, PPR, and PB are shown to be negatively significant.

IMPORTANCE: It is largely unclear whether robotic distal gastrectomy (RDG) is cost-effective for locally advanced gastric cancer (LAGC). OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the cost-effectiveness of RDG, laparoscopic distal gastrectomy (LDG), and open distal gastrectomy (ODG) for patients with LAGC. DESIGN, SETTING, AND PARTICIPANTS: Inverse probability of treatment weighting (IPTW) was used to balance baseline characteristics. A decision-analytic model was constructed to evaluate the cost-effectiveness of RDG, LDG, and ODG. EXPOSURES: RDG, LDG, and ODG. MAIN OUTCOMES AND MEASURES: Incremental cost-effectiveness ratio (ICER) and quality-adjusted life year (QALY). RESULTS: This pooled analysis of two randomized controlled trials included 449 patients: 117, 254, and 78 patients in the RDG, LDG, and ODG groups, respectively. After IPTW, RDG demonstrated its priority in terms of less blood loss, postoperative length, and complication rate (all P < 0.05). RDG also showed higher QOL with more cost, representing an ICER of $85,739.73 per QALY and $42,189.53 per QALY compared to LDG and ODG, respectively. In probabilistic sensitivity analysis, RDG achieved the best cost-effectiveness for patients with LAGC only when the willingness-to-pay threshold was > $85,739.73 per QALY, which significantly exceeded 3 times Chinese per capita GDP. Furthermore, one of the most important factors was the indirect costs of robotic surgery in terms of the cost-effectiveness of RDG compared to that of LDG or ODG. CONCLUSIONS AND RELEVANCE: Although improved short-term outcomes and QOL were seen in patients underwent RDG, the economic burden should be considered in the clinical decision-making regarding robotic surgery use for patients with LAGC. Our findings may vary in different health care settings and affordability. Trial registration CLASS-01 trial (ClinicalTrials.gov, CT01609309) and FUGES-011 trial (ClinicalTrials.gov, NCT03313700).

In order to understand the pollution characteristics of soil heavy metals in typical geological high background areas in southeastern Chongqing, analyze its pollution sources, and put forward risk management and control suggestions, 211 topsoil samples (0-20 cm) were collected in Xinglong Town and Muye Township in the north of Youyang County, Chongqing City, and the contents of eight heavy metals (As, Cd, Cr, Cu, Hg, Ni, Pb, and Zn) and the soil pH value in the surface soil were analyzed. Additionally, mathematical statistics, pollution load index (P), potential ecological risk index (RI), correlation analysis, and the positive matrix factorization (PMF) model were used to study the content and spatial distribution characteristics of heavy metals in the topsoil, and pollution assessment and source analysis of heavy metals were carried out. The results showed that the average concentrations of heavy metals in the surface soil all exceeded the soil background value in Chongqing, showing different levels of enrichment. Among them, the proportion of Cd exceeding the screening value in the "soil environmental quality risk control standard for soil contamination of agricultural land" (GB 15618-2018) was as high as 83.41%, the proportion of exceeding the control value was 7.58%, and the potential risk was relatively high. The evaluation results of the pollution load index method showed that the study area was slightly polluted as a whole, and the evaluation results of the potential ecological risk index showed that the overall ecological risk of the study area was relatively high. Among them, the contribution rates of heavy metals Hg, Cd, and As were 50.27%, 28.63%, and 11.70%, respectively. The PMF results showed that there were three main sources of heavy metals in the soil in the study area:natural parent material sources, agricultural sources, and mixed sources of industrial activities and traffic emissions, accounting for 40.49%, 29.12%, and 30.39%, respectively. The quantitative source analysis results of soil heavy metals in the study area have important reference significance for soil heavy metal pollution control in geologically high background areas.
