RESUMO

Background: Early detection of mild cognitive impairment is crucial in the prevention of Alzheimer's disease (AD). This study aims to explore the changes in gait and brain co-functional connectivity between cognitively healthy and cognitively impaired groups under dual-task walking through the functional near-infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS) and gait analysis devices. Method: This study used fNIRS device and gait analysis devices to collect the data of 54 older adults. According to the Mini-mental State Examination (MMSE) and the Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA) scales, the older adults were cognitively healthy (control group) and cognitively impaired (experimental group), of which 38 were in the control group and 16 were in the experimental group. The experiment was divided into a total of three sets of task experiments: a walking-only experiment, a dual-task walking-easy (DTW-easy) experiment, and a dual-task walking-difficult (DTW-difficult) experiment. Main Result: For the cognitively impaired and cognitively healthy populations, there were no significant differences in overall functional connectivity, region of interest (ROI) connection strength, and gait performance during single-task walking between the two groups.Whereas the performances of DTW differed significantly from the single-task walking in terms of between-group variability of functional connectivity strength change values, and ROI connection strength change values in relation to the dual-task cost of gait. Finally, the cognitively impaired group was significantly more affected by DTW-difficult tasks than the cognitively healthy group. Conclusion: This study provides a new approach to assist in the diagnosis of people with cognitive impairment and provides a new research pathway for the identification of cognitive impairment.

RESUMO

Urbanization and aging populations are threatening the sustainability of rural development around the world. Improving the happiness of rural residents is closely related not only to rural development but also to the harmony and stability of a country. Sustainable development has become an important strategy for China's rural areas. Although withdrawal from rural homesteads is an important issue in rural land policy, few researchers have examined the determinants of the subjective well-being of farmers following withdrawal. The current paper investigated 315 rural residents under three models of the "withdrawal from homestead" policy in Jinjiang City, Fujian Province, China. The application of the orderly probit model revealed how satisfaction with economic, social, environment, cultural, and policy factors impacted their subjective well-being. The pooled results showed that satisfaction with cultural and policy factors had no significant impact; however, the other aspects significantly promoted their subjective well-being. The empirical model with interaction terms indicated the significant positive impact of economic, environmental, and social factors on subjective well-being under the index replacement model, while only environment and social factors exerted a significant positive impact under the asset replacement and monetary compensation models. Corresponding policy implications are discussed.

RESUMO

Fenpiclonil is an agricultural phenylpyrrole fungicide, which raise the concern about its ecotoxicological effects. In this paper, we investigate the indirect photochemical transformation mechanisms, environmental persistence and eco-toxicity of fenpiclonil initiated by various active oxidants (1O2, •OH and SO4•‾) in aquatic environments. The results shown that 1O2 can react with pyrrole ring by cycloaddition pathways to form the endo-peroxides. In addition, •OH and SO4•‾ initial mechanisms are calculated, suggesting that •OH-initiated mechanisms play a dominant role in the degradation process of fenpiclonil at high rate constants (2.26 ×109 M-1 s-1, at 298 K). The kinetic calculation results indicate that high temperature is more favorable for the degradation of fenpiclonil. To better understand the adverse effects of the transformation products formed during the subsequent reaction of •OH-adduct IM10, the computational toxicology has been used for the toxicity estimation. The results show that aquatic toxicity of these products decrease with degradation process, especially the decomposition products (TP3 and TP4). However, TP1 and TP2 are still toxic and developmental toxicant. The study provides guidance for further experimental research and industrial application of fungicide degradation from the perspective of theoretical calculation.

RESUMO

Fludioxonil has been proven valuable as a broad-spectrum fungicide. However, there are concerns about its risk posed to non-target organisms in aquatic environments. In this paper, the mechanism, photoproducts transformation and eco-toxicity of fludioxonil during •OH/1O2-initiated process were systematically studied using quantum chemistry and computational toxicology. The results indicate that the two favorable pathways of •OH/1O2-initiated reactions are both occurred in pyrrole ring. It can conclude that the rate constants of •OH and 1O2 are 1.23 × 1010 and 3.69 × 107 M-1 s-1 at 298K, respectively, which results in half-lives of <2 days in surface waters under sunlit near-surface conditions. Based on toxicity assessments, these photoproducts showed a decreased aquatic toxicity but the majority products are still toxic. This study gives more insight into the chemical transformation mechanism of fludioxonil in aquatic environments.
