BACKGROUND: Few studies have investigated the feasibility of dynamic contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging (DCE-MRI) using a free-breathing golden-angle radial stack-of-stars volume-interpolated breath-hold examination (FB radial VIBE) sequence in the lung. PURPOSE: To investigate whether DCE-MRI using the FB radial VIBE sequence can assess morphological and kinetic parameters in patients with pulmonary lesions, with computed tomography (CT) as the reference. MATERIAL AND METHODS: In total, 43 patients (30 men; mean age = 64 years) with one lesion each were prospectively enrolled. Morphological and kinetic features on MRI were calculated. The diagnostic performance of morphological MR features was evaluated using a receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve. Kinetic features were compared among subgroups based on histopathological subtype, lesion size, and lymph node metastasis. RESULTS: The maximum diameter was not significantly different between CT and MRI (3.66 ± 1.62 cm vs. 3.64 ± 1.72 cm; P = 0.663). Spiculation, lobulation, cavitation or bubble-like areas of low attenuation, and lymph node enlargement had an area under the ROC curve (AUC) >0.9, while pleural indentation yielded an AUC of 0.788. The lung cancer group had significantly lower Ktrans, Ve, and initial AUC values than the other cause inflammation group (0.203, 0.158, and 0.589 vs. 0.597, 0.385, and 1.626; P < 0.05) but significantly higher values than the tuberculosis group (P < 0.05). CONCLUSION: Morphology features derived from FB radial VIBE have high correlations with CT, and kinetic analyses show significant differences between benign and malignant lesions. DCE-MRI with FB radial VIBE could serve as a complementary quantification tool to CT for radiation-free assessments of lung lesions.

The One Health (OH) approach is used to control/prevent zoonotic events. However, there is a lack of tools for systematically assessing OH practices. Here, we applied the Global OH Index (GOHI) to evaluate the global OH performance for zoonoses (GOHI-Zoonoses). The fuzzy analytic hierarchy process algorithm and fuzzy comparison matrix were used to calculate the weights and scores of five key indicators, 16 subindicators, and 31 datasets for 160 countries and territories worldwide. The distribution of GOHI-Zoonoses scores varies significantly across countries and regions, reflecting the strengths and weaknesses in controlling or responding to zoonotic threats. Correlation analyses revealed that the GOHI-Zoonoses score was associated with economic, sociodemographic, environmental, climatic, and zoological factors. Additionally, the Human Development Index had a positive effect on the score. This study provides an evidence-based reference and guidance for global, regional, and country-level efforts to optimize the health of people, animals, and the environment.

The diffusion effect of the digital economy (DEN) has become increasingly prominent, but few scholars have investigated the energy transition effect of China's DEN. To this end, this study takes 207 cities in China as the research object to explore the potential role of DEN development in boosting energy resource transition (ERT). The endogeneity and asymmetry between variables are also analyzed. We find that (i) China's urban DEN and ERT show a synchronized fluctuating upward trend from 2006 to 2019; (ii) both DEN and ERT show significant positive nexus; put differently, the rapid evolution of DEN can significantly help enhance the strength of ERT; and (iii) substantial heterogeneity exists at different quantiles. In 10th and 90th quantiles, the impacts of DEN on ERT are insignificant, and both DEN and ERT exhibit significant positive linkage in 25th, 50th, and 75th quantiles. To this end, we put forward corresponding policy recommendations to boost ERT from the perspective of DEN.

Maternal anaemia is a major public health problem. Developing maternal anaemia prevention and control policies is an important prerequisite for carrying out evidence-based interventions. This article reviews maternal anaemia prevention and control policies in China, identifies gaps, and provides references for other countries. We examined policies concerning maternal nutrition and other related literature in China, identified through key databases and government websites, and conducted a narrative review of the relevant documentations guided by the Smith Policy-Implementing-Process framework. A total of 65 articles and documents were identified for analysis. We found that Chinese government has committed to reducing maternal anaemia at the policy level, with established objectives and a clear time frame. However, most of policies were not accompanied by operational guidelines, standardized interventions, and vigorous monitoring and evaluation mechanisms, and 85% of the policies don't have quantifiable objectives on anaemia. Maternal anaemia prevention and control services offered in clinical settings were primarily nutrition education and anaemia screening. Population-based interventions such as iron fortification have yet to be scaled up. Furthermore, medical insurance schemes in some regions do not cover anaemia prevention and treatment, and in other regions that offer coverage, the reimbursement rate is low. The number and capacity of health professionals is also limited. Policy changes should focus on the integration of evidence-based interventions into routine antenatal care services and public health service packages, standardization of dosages and provision of iron supplementation, streamline of reimbursement for outpatient expenses, and capacity building of health professionals.

BACKGROUND: It is unclear whether laparoscopic hepatectomy (LH) for hepatolithiasis confers better clinical benefit and lower hospital costs than open hepatectomy (OH). This study aim to evaluate the clinical and economic value of LH versus OH. METHODS: Patients undergoing OH or LH for primary hepatolithiasis at Yijishan Hospital of Wannan Medical College between 2015 and 2022 were divided into OH group and LH group. Propensity score matching (PSM) was used to balance the baseline data. Deviation-based cost modelling and weighted average median cost (WAMC) were used to assess and compare the economic value. RESULTS: A total of 853 patients were identified. After exclusions, 403 patients with primary hepatolithiasis underwent anatomical hepatectomy (OH n=143; LH n=260). PSM resulted in 2 groups of 100 patients each. Although LH required a longer median operation duration compared with OH (285.0 versus 240.0 min, respectively, P<0.001), LH patients had fewer wound infections, fewer pre-discharge overall complications (26 versus 43%, respectively, P=0.009), and shorter median postoperative hospital stays (8.0 versus 12.0 days, respectively, P<0.001). No differences were found in blood loss, major complications, stone clearance, and mortality between the two matched groups. However, the median overall hospital cost of LH was significantly higher than that of OH (CNY¥52,196.1 versus 45,349.5, respectively, P=0.007). Although LH patients had shorter median postoperative hospital stays and fewer complications than OH patients, the WAMC was still higher for the LH group than for the OH group with an increase of CNY¥9,755.2 per patient undergoing LH. CONCLUSION: The overall clinical benefit of LH for hepatolithiasis is comparable or even superior to that of OH, but with an economic disadvantage. There is a need to effectively reduce the hospital costs of LH and the gap between costs and diagnosis-related group reimbursement to promote its adoption.

OBJECTIVES: Investigate sex differences in age-related back extensor muscle degeneration using Dixon MRI and analyze the relationship between quantitative muscle parameters and back muscle strength in healthy adults. METHODS: 105 healthy subjects underwent lumbar Dixon MRI. Fat fraction (FF), cross-sectional area (CSA), functional CSA (FCSA), and relative FCSA (RFCSA) of multifidus muscle (MF) and erector spinae (ES) were quantified. Back extension muscle strength was measured using an external fixation dynamometer. ANOVA with post hoc Tukey correction was used for age group comparisons. Partial and Spearman's correlation analyzed relationships between age, muscle parameters, and muscle strength. RESULTS: MF and ES FF significantly increased with age in both genders (r = 0.55-0.85; p < 0.001). Muscle FF increased prominently for females (40-49 years, MF and 50-59 years, ES) and males (60-73 years, MF and ES). In females, total ES FCSA and RFCSA (r = - 0.42, - 0.37; p < 0.01) correlated with age. While in males, all MF and ES muscle size parameters, except total MF CSA, correlated with age (r = - 0.30 to - 0.58; p < 0.05). Back extension muscle strength correlated with mean FF, total CSA, and total FCAS for MF and ES individually (p < 0.001). The combined MF + ES FCSA correlation coefficient (r = 0.63) was higher than FF (r = - 0.51) and CSA (r = 0.59) (p < 0.001). CONCLUSIONS: Age-related back extensor muscle degeneration varies by muscle type and sex. FCSA has the highest association with back muscle strength compared to FF and CSA. CLINICAL RELEVANCE STATEMENT: The investigation of sex differences in age-related back extensor muscle degeneration utilizing Dixon imaging may hold significant implications for evaluating spine health and enabling earlier intervention. Muscles' FCSA could contribute to acquiring additional evidence for reflecting muscle function change. KEY POINTS: • The multifidus muscle (MF) and erector spinae (ES) fat fraction (FF) increased with age at all lumbar disc levels in females and males. • Age-related changes in muscle morphological quantitative parameters of healthy adults were specific by muscle type and gender. • The muscle functional cross-sectional area (FCSA) measured by Dixon imaging may better monitor back extensor muscle strength changes than muscle FF and cross-sectional area (CSA).

BACKGROUND: To assess the impact of coronavirus disease-2019 (COVID-19) in its outbreak stage (Spring Festival in 2020) on oral emergency services. METHODS: Oral emergency cases in Shanghai Ninth People's Hospital, Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine, during the Spring Festival after the outbreak of the COVID-19 epidemic in 2020 were collected and compared with those in 2018 and 2019. Electronic medical records including the visited department, age, sex, time, date, region, and diagnosis were collected and analyzed. The results were statistically analyzed using Pearson's Chi-square test and one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA). RESULTS: Compared with that in 2018 and 2019, the total number of patients decreased during the Spring Festival in 2020 (p < 0.001), but the proportions of patients visiting Oral Surgery and Oral, Head, and Neck Oncology Emergency departments increased. The average age of patients increased, and the number of night visits decreased. Toothache diseases involving endodontic and periodontal diseases increased, while the proportion of maxillofacial trauma decreased. The wasn't a linear association between diagnosis or genders (P > 0.001) across years. However, a linear-by-linear association between age groups and years, visited departments and years were observed (P < 0.001). CONCLUSIONS: The study revealed that the transmission of COVID-19 affected the patient population and structure of disease types and oral services in 2020 during the Spring Festival, compared with those in the previous two years. The visits to oral emergency departments and the proportions of patients who were children and adolescents reduced; meanwhile, the percentage of the elderly people increased during the outbreak of COVID-19. The clear trend of age groups and visiting divisions could be used as a marker to reflect the severity of the COVID-19 pandemic. These results may serve as a reference for dental practitioners involved in oral emergency services and to allocate the limited emergency health resources.

INTRODUCTION: Despite advances in oncologic care, racial and socio-economic outcome disparities persist in non-ocular melanoma patients. However, the unmet need is understanding the population at risk for late tumor stage at diagnosis. We sought to analyze the groups with an increased risk of unfavorable tumor stage at diagnosis. METHODS: Patients with non-ocular melanoma were reviewed using the 2000-2019 SEER Research Data (SEER*Stat) and grouped into early tumor stage at diagnosis (stage I-IIC) and late (stage III-IVC). Multivariable logistic and Cox regression examined the association of demographic, socioeconomic, and clinical factors with late-stage diagnosis and overall survival, respectively. Kaplan-Meier estimates were calculated with racial and county-level household income stratification to evaluate overall survival differences. RESULTS: Of 147,606 patients diagnosed with non-ocular melanoma, 38,695 cases were identified based on inclusion and exclusion criteria and separated into those with early-stage diagnosis (median 63 years) and those with late-stage (median 62 years). Male gender, Black race, Asian or Pacific Islander race, and Hispanic ethnicity were significantly associated with late-stage tumor diagnosis (p < 0.001). Receipt of surgery and a median county-level household income >$75,000 were protective for late-stage tumor diagnosis (p < 0.001). Additionally, male gender, Black, Asian or Pacific Islander, American Indian/Alaskan Native races, metastasis, and late-stage diagnosis were associated with factors significantly associated with decreased overall survival (p-value <0.001). Receipt of surgery and a median household income of $50,000-$74,999 and >$75,000 were factors associated with increased overall survival (p < 0.001). The median overall survival was 89 months, but Black patients (58 months) and <$50,000 income households (75 months) had significantly worse survival (p < 0.001). CONCLUSIONS: Hispanic ethnicity, Black and Asian or Pacific Islander race, and low-income households were associated with late-stage non-ocular melanoma at diagnosis. Black, Asian or Pacific Islander and American Indian/Alaskan Native races and lower-income households were associated with worse overall survival. Identifying addressable causal factors that link this at-risk population to poor cancer prognosis is warranted.

Hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection has been declared an ongoing health threat, especially infections among children. We compared and updated the disease burden of HBV infection and the effectiveness of vaccination among children younger than 5 years to offer indications for hepatitis B prevention across the world. The country-level data on the prevalence of hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg), the coverages of hepatitis B vaccine birth-dose (HepB-BD), three-dose series (HepB3), income level, population density/size, and human development index were collected from open access databases including WHO, UNICEF, and World Bank. Comparison of the prevalence of HBsAg under 5 years old between 2015 and 2019 based on vaccination coverages was conducted by the gamma generalized linear mixed model. Globally, more than 6.3 million HBV infections were estimated in children under 5 years in 2019, compared to 10.1 million in 2015 within the 179 countries involved. The pooled average prevalence of HBsAg among children younger than 5 years decreased from 1.4% (95% confidence interval [CI]: 1.1-1.8) to 0.9% (95% CI: 0.7-1.2). The rate difference or rate ratio was -0.5% (95% CI: -0.6% to -0.3%) or 0.51(95% CI: 0.44-0.58), respectively. Countries from the African region or with lower income/population density/human development indexes bore the most significant disease burden of hepatitis B. Higher coverages of hepatitis B vaccine birth-dose or primary series correlated with significant HBsAg prevalence decreases and much-decreased ratio, independently. Hepatitis B prevention among children under 5 years has significantly been achieved while remaining the most life-threatening disease burden, unequally distributed worldwide. The hepatitis B vaccination should be prioritized for all newborns, especially in those resource-constrained countries or regions.

OBJECTIVES: To investigate the accuracy of fused CBCT images in diagnosing three distinct groups of bone changes characterized by volume and thickness decrease in patients with temporomandibular joint osteoarthrosis (TMJ OA) during follow-up. METHODS: In this retrospective study, 109 patients (176 TMJs) with TMJ OA were included. Two consecutive CBCT images for the same patient were registered and fused. Then, three image sets were established: without fusion, fused 2D image, and fused 3D image. Three residents randomly and independently evaluated whether there was condylar resorption with the three image sets respectively. The samples diagnosed as condylar resorption by the expert panel were divided into three subgroups according to the volume and thickness decrease calculated after segmentation. The inter- and intraobserver agreement, receiver operating characteristic (ROC), and area under the curve (AUC) evaluated the diagnostic capability for different subgroups. RESULTS: For the volume decrease more than 50 mm3 and thickness decrease more than 1 mm groups, the AUC values for fused image sets were higher than those without fusion (p < 0.01). For the volume decrease within 50 mm3 and thickness decrease within 1 mm groups, the AUC values for fused 2D image sets were higher than the image sets without fusion (p < 0.05), but there was no significant difference between the fused 3D image sets and the image sets without fusion (p = 0.48 for volume decrease, p = 0.37 for thickness decrease). CONCLUSIONS: The fused images can improve the diagnostic accuracy and repeatability for the samples with at least 50 mm3 volume decrease or 1 mm thickness decrease compared with the image groups without fusion.

With the rapid growth of electric vehicles in China, the number of spent power lithium-ion batteries is dramatically increased. Considering the environmental risk, security risk, and potential resource value, China has issued a series of laws and regulations to manage the spent power lithium-ion batteries. This work employs the material flow analysis method to evaluate the material flows of Li, Ni, Co, and Mn during the life cycle of power lithium-ion batteries under the framework of China's recycling policy system. The results show that the demand for primary Li, Ni, Co, and Mn can achieve 26.9, 68.1, 20.4, and 21.9 kt in 2021, and a lot of primary critical resources will inburst the in-use stage. Moreover, the number of secondary Li, Ni, Co, and Mn can achieve 6.1, 15.4, 4.6, and 5 kt in 2021, accounting for 22.7%, 22.6%, 22.5%, and 22.8% of their corresponding demand. Based on the economic evaluation under the framework of China's recycling policy system, it is found that the potential recycling values of Li, Ni, Co, and Mn are approximately 966, 523, 414, and 43 million RMB yuan, which are 66.4%, 71%, 59.6%, and 66.4% higher than those in the absence of China's recycling policy system. It is implied that China's recycling policy system could markedly improve the collection rate by reducing losses and indirectly enhancing the recycling and reuse of spent power lithium-ion batteries. This work is expected to provide guidance for policymakers to improve the management of spent power lithium-ion batteries in China.

Currently, there are only a few risk assessment tools that provide predictions of survival duration for patients with gastric cancer (GC) receiving immunotherapy. The purpose of the present study was to develop and validate a nomogram that uses statistical data to predict survival and make risk assessments for patients with advanced staged GC. A total of 1,013 patients consisting of a development cohort (n=501) and validation cohort (n=512) collected during the time interval between January 2018 and June 2022 were included in the present study. The analysis consisted of the discrimination index, calibration plots and decision curve of the nomogram model. A total of 167 (33.33%) patients from the development cohort, and 158 (30.85%) from the validation cohort died during the observation period. The median overall survival (OS) of female patients was higher at 980 days (95% CI, 613-NA) compared with that of male patients, which was 748 days (95% CI, 597-NA; P=0.24). The median survival of patients with domestic immunotherapy was 789 (95% CI, 597-NA) days, which was lower compared with the imported immunotherapy group who had a median OS of 980 days (95% CI, 582-NA; P=0.22). A total of four independent predictors, age (HR=1.012; P=0.0245), histological grade (HR=1.395; P=0.016), immunotherapy cycles (HR=0.932; P=0.028) and line of first immunotherapy (HR=1.693; P=0.0003), were identified. The C-index was 0.64 and 0.67 for the development and validation cohorts, respectively. Patients who received more cycles of immunotherapy as the first-line treatment with highly differentiated tumor led to increase in the survival time of the patients. Thus, this nomogram could be used to determine the benefit of immunotherapies on patients at various stages of treatment of GC.

Solar-driven high-efficiency conversion of CO2 with water vapor into high-value-added alcohols is a promising approach for reducing CO2 emissions and achieving carbon neutrality. However, the rapid recombination of photogenerated carriers and low CO2 adsorption capacity of photocatalysts are usually the factors that limit their applicability. Herein, a series of low-cost Z-scheme heterostructures Cu2O/PCN-250-x are constructed by in situ growth of ultrasmall Cu2O nanoparticles on PCN-250. A systematic investigation revealed that there is a strong interaction between Cu2O nanoparticles and PCN-250. The resulting Cu2O/PCN-250-2 exhibits excellent photogenerated carrier separation efficiency and CO2 adsorption capacity, which dramatically promote the conversion of CO2 into alcohols. Notably, the total yield of 268 µmol gcat-1 for the production of CH3OH and CH3H2OH is superior to that of isolated PCN-250 and Cu2O. This study provides a new perspective for the design of a Cu2O nanoparticle/metal-organic framework Z-scheme heterojunction for the reduction of CO2 to alcohols with water vapor.

IMPORTANCE: The association of hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection with reduced fecundability among reproductive-aged couples lacks large-population, in-depth study evidence. OBJECTIVE: To investigate the association of HBV infection with time to pregnancy in couples planning pregnancy, and to explore whether this association varied by gravidity, health statuses, or lifestyles. DESIGN, SETTING, AND PARTICIPANTS: This is a population-based cohort study of Chinese couples participating in the National Free Preconception Check-up Projects during 2015 to 2017. They were planning pregnancy and were followed-up every 3 months until getting pregnant, as confirmed by gynecologic ultrasonography, or were followed-up for 1 year. Data were analyzed between March 1, 2022, and September 30, 2022. MAIN OUTCOMES AND MEASURES: The main outcome was time to pregnancy, assessed using fecundability hazard ratios (HRs). The Cox proportional hazards regression models were used to estimate the association of HBV infection with fecundability. RESULTS: Among 2 419 848 couples (mean [SD] age, 27.87 [5.20] years for women and 29.58 [5.50] years for men), 126 728 women (5.24%) and 156 572 men (6.47%) were infected with HBV. Compared with the HBV-negative group, the fecundability of both women and men in the HBV-positive group decreased by 5% (HR, 0.95; 95% CI, 0.94-0.95). Compared with couples in which both partners were HBV negative, the fecundability of those in which both partners were HBV positive declined by 6% (HR, 0.94; 95% CI, 0.93-0.96) among all couples, by 3% (HR, 0.97; 95% CI, 0.95-0.99) among nulligravidas couples, and by 7% (HR, 0.93; 95% CI, 0.91-0.95) among multigravidas couples. Both the female-male and couple models suggested that the association of HBV infection with decreased fecundability was more pronounced in couples with multigravidas. The negative association was greater in people with overweight and obesity and was inconsistent in certain subgroups; in particular, it was more pronounced in women with reproductive tract infections, normal fasting plasma glucose, and no alcohol intake and in men with normal blood pressure. CONCLUSIONS AND RELEVANCE: In this population-based cohort study, HBV infection was associated with decreased fecundability in a general reproductive-aged population, especially in couples with multigravidas. For women and men with certain health statuses and lifestyles, a comprehensive consideration of this association is recommended to provide personalized fertility guidance.

Objectives. To evaluate the clinical performance of deep learning-enhanced ultrafast single photon emission computed tomography/computed tomography (SPECT/CT) bone scans in patients with suspected malignancy.Approach. In this prospective study, 102 patients with potential malignancy were enrolled and underwent a 20 min SPECT/CT and a 3 min SPECT scan. A deep learning model was applied to generate algorithm-enhanced images (3 min DL SPECT). The reference modality was the 20 min SPECT/CT scan. Two reviewers independently evaluated general image quality, Tc-99m MDP distribution, artifacts, and diagnostic confidence of 20 min SPECT/CT, 3 min SPECT/CT, and 3 min DL SPECT/CT images. The sensitivity, specificity, accuracy, and interobserver agreement were calculated. The lesion maximum standard uptake value (SUVmax) of the 3 min DL and 20 min SPECT/CT images was analyzed. The peak signal-to-noise ratio (PSNR) and structure similarity index measure (SSIM) were evaluated.Main results. The 3 min DL SPECT/CT images showed significantly superior general image quality, Tc-99m MDP distribution, artifacts, and diagnostic confidence than the 20 min SPECT/CT images (P< 0.0001). The diagnostic performance of the 20 min and 3 min DL SPECT/CT images was similar for reviewer 1 (pairedX2= 0.333,P= 0.564) and reviewer 2 (pairedX2= 0.05,P= 0.823). The diagnosis results for the 20 min (kappa = 0.822) and 3 min DL (kappa = 0.732) SPECT/CT images showed high interobserver agreement. The 3 min DL SPECT/CT images had significantly higher PSNR and SSIM than the 3 min SPECT/CT images (51.44 versus 38.44,P< 0.0001; 0.863 versus 0.752,P< 0.0001). The SUVmaxof the 3 min DL and 20 min SPECT/CT images showed a strong linear relationship (r= 0.991;P< 0.0001).Significance.Ultrafast SPECT/CT with a 1/7 acquisition time can be enhanced by a deep learning method to achieve comparable image quality and diagnostic value to those of standard acquisition.

Due to the far distance impact on resident, aquatic and soil ecosystem health, food waste disposal becomes the focus of municipal waste strategy in developing countries. Shanghai is a leading city in China, its evolution of food waste management can indicate the coming future of the nation. In this city, from 1986 to 2020, the open dumping, landfill and incineration of food waste had been gradually banned, replaced by centralized compost and anaerobic digestion and other recovery ways. This study selected ten scenarios, ever used for food/mixed waste disposal in Shanghai, and analyzed the environmental impact change during the period 1986-2020. Life cycle assessment showed that although the generation of food waste raised rapidly, the total environmental impact, which was dominated by Freshwater Aquatic Ecotoxicity Potential, displayed a sharp decrease as 96.09 %, and Global Warming Potential decreased by 28.14 %. Substantial efforts should be made to improve the collection rate of biogas and landfill gas to reduce environmental impact, and quality of residues from anaerobic digestion and compost plants should be improved and utilized in its legal ways. Driving forces for the goal of sustainable food waste management in Shanghai involved economic development, environmental regulations and the supporting national/local standards.

COVID-19 has spread all over the world which poses a serious threat to social economic development and public health. Despite enormous progress has been made in the prevention and treatment of COVID-19, the specific mechanism and biomarker related to disease severity or prognosis have not been clarified yet. Our study intended to further explore the diagnostic markers of COVID-19 and their relationship with serum immunology by bioinformatics analysis. The datasets about COVID-19 were downloaded from the Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) dataset. The differentially expressed genes (DEGs) were selected via the limma package. Then, weighted gene co-expression network analysis (WGCNA) was conducted to identify the critical module associated with the clinic status. The intersection DEGs were processed for further enrichment analysis. The final diagnostic genes for COVID-19 were selected and verified through special bioinformatics algorithms. There were significant DEGs between the normal and COVID-19 patients. These genes were mainly enriched in cell cycle, complement and coagulation cascade, extracellular matrix (ECM) receptor interaction, and the P53 signaling pathway. As much as 357 common intersected DEGs were selected in the end. These DEGs were enriched in organelle fission, mitotic cell cycle phase transition, DNA helicase activity, cell cycle, cellular senescence, and P53 signaling pathway. Our study also identified CDC25A, PDCD6, and YWAHE were potential diagnostic markers of COVID-19 with the AUC (area under curve), 0.958 (95% CI 0.920-0.988), 0.941(95% CI 0.892-0.980), and 0.929 (95% CI 0.880-0.971). Moreover, CDC25A, PDCD6, and YWAHE were correlated with plasma cells, macrophages M0, T cells CD4 memory resting, T cells CD8, dendritic cells, and NK cells. Our study discovered that CDC25A, PDCD6, and YWAHE can be used as diagnostic markers for COVID-19. Moreover, these biomarkers were also closely associated with immune cell infiltration, which plays a pivotal role in the diagnosis and progression of COVID-19.

Municipal solid waste management and disposal in China have significantly evolved since 2000. Due to China's vast land area and significant socioeconomic and geographic disparities, nationwide waste management strategies need to be further evaluated. This study quantified the effect of social, economic, and geographic drivers on municipal waste disposal activities in 31 provincial-level administrative regions from 2003 to 2020, by establishing a methodology integrated by two-way fixed effects regression model, panel random forest, and spatial Durbin model. The results showed, in the past two decades, socio-economic-geo indicators significantly co-decided the landfill and incineration activities. In particular, the explanatory ability of GDP per capita was above 45%, while land resources and city size also showed great significance. Spatial autocorrelation analysis showed that the relationship between landfill/incineration rates and socio-economic-geo drivers changed notably from unobvious to significant with economic growth. Furthermore, the local economy and land resources displayed more impact than those of the neighboring regions, while sci-tech and education showed clear spatial spillover effects. Chinese government would carefully assess the full-scale promotion policy of incineration plants, landfill is still hold as a reasonable option for regions with specific socio-economic-geo conditions.

Electrocatalysts based on Fe and other transition metals are regarded as most promising candidates for accelerating the oxygen evolution reaction (OER), whereas whether Fe is the catalytic active site for OER is still under debate. Here, unary Fe- and binary FeNi- based catalysts, FeOOH and FeNi(OH)x , are produced by self-reconstruction. The former is a dual-phased FeOOH, possessing abundant oxygen vacancies (VO ) and mixed-valence states, delivering the highest OER performance among all the unary iron oxides- and hydroxides- based powder catalysts reported to date, supporting Fe can be catalytically active for OER. As to binary catalyst, FeNi(OH)x is fabricated featuring 1) an equal molar content of Fe and Ni and 2) rich VO , both of which are found essential to enable abundant stabilized reactive centers (FeOOHNi) for high OER performance. Fe is found to be oxidized to 3.5+ during the *OOH process, thus, Fe is identified to be the active site in this new layered double hydroxide (LDH) structure with Fe:Ni = 1:1. Furthermore, the maximized catalytic centers enable FeNi(OH)x @NF (nickel foam) as low-cost bifunctional electrodes for overall water-splitting, delivering excellent performance comparable to commercial electrodes based on precious metals, which overcomes a major obstacle to the commercialization of bifunctional electrodes: prohibitive cost.

BACKGROUND: Deep-learning-based computer-aided diagnosis (DL-CAD) systems using MRI for prostate cancer (PCa) detection have demonstrated good performance. Nevertheless, DL-CAD systems are vulnerable to high heterogeneities in DWI, which can interfere with DL-CAD assessments and impair performance. This study aims to compare PCa detection of DL-CAD between zoomed-field-of-view echo-planar DWI (z-DWI) and full-field-of-view DWI (f-DWI) and find the risk factors affecting DL-CAD diagnostic efficiency. METHODS: This retrospective study enrolled 354 consecutive participants who underwent MRI including T2WI, f-DWI, and z-DWI because of clinically suspected PCa. A DL-CAD was used to compare the performance of f-DWI and z-DWI both on a patient level and lesion level. We used the area under the curve (AUC) of receiver operating characteristics analysis and alternative free-response receiver operating characteristics analysis to compare the performances of DL-CAD using f- DWI and z-DWI. The risk factors affecting the DL-CAD were analyzed using logistic regression analyses. P values less than 0.05 were considered statistically significant. RESULTS: DL-CAD with z-DWI had a significantly better overall accuracy than that with f-DWI both on patient level and lesion level (AUCpatient: 0.89 vs. 0.86; AUClesion: 0.86 vs. 0.76; P < .001). The contrast-to-noise ratio (CNR) of lesions in DWI was an independent risk factor of false positives (odds ratio [OR] = 1.12; P < .001). Rectal susceptibility artifacts, lesion diameter, and apparent diffusion coefficients (ADC) were independent risk factors of both false positives (ORrectal susceptibility artifact = 5.46; ORdiameter, = 1.12; ORADC = 0.998; all P < .001) and false negatives (ORrectal susceptibility artifact = 3.31; ORdiameter = 0.82; ORADC = 1.007; all P ≤ .03) of DL-CAD. CONCLUSIONS: Z-DWI has potential to improve the detection performance of a prostate MRI based DL-CAD. TRIAL REGISTRATION: ChiCTR, NO. ChiCTR2100041834 . Registered 7 January 2021.
