RESUMO

Triboelectric nanogenerators (TENGs) have emerged as viable micro power sources for an array of applications. Since their inception in 2012, TENGs have been the subject of significant advancements in terms of structural design and the development of friction materials. Despite these advancements, the complexity of their structural designs and the use of costly friction materials hinder their practical application. This study introduces a simplified TENG model utilizing an economical composite film of fullerene carbon soot (FS)-doped polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) (FS-TENG). It confirms the FS-TENG's ability to convert mechanical energy into electrical energy, as demonstrated through experimental validation. The generated electricity by the FS-TENG can power devices such as light-emitting diodes (LEDs), digital watches, kitchen timers, and sports stopwatches, highlighting its efficiency. This research enhances the development of TENGs featuring low-cost, streamlined structures for sustainable and autonomous energy sensing applications.

The fifth session of the 13th National People's Congress proposed to be committed to promoting carbon peaking and carbon neutrality, promoting the comprehensive green and low-carbon transformation of the economy and society and achieving high-quality development. As an important scientific and technological innovation and industrial cluster in Shaanxi Province, the economic development of the Xi'an Hi-tech Zone largely relies on energy consumption, making the task of carbon reduction particularly challenging. Firstly, taking the Xi'an Hi-tech Zone as the research object, through systematic accounting of carbon emissions within the park, we analyzed the current carbon emission status of enterprises in different energy types and industries. Then, using the Kaya model, multiple independent carbon peak scenarios were set up to predict the total carbon emissions and peak time under different scenarios. Finally, based on the development characteristics of the Xi'an Hi-tech Zone, we scientifically selected corresponding carbon emission reduction paths and provided reasonable emission reduction suggestions. The results showed that the proportion of carbon emissions consumed by electricity was currently the highest, and the share was increasing yearly. Industrial carbon emissions had always been dominant, and the development of the tertiary industry was becoming increasingly prosperous. In the scenario prediction, the carbon emission factor scenario, energy intensity scenario, and economic level scenario could reach the carbon peak by 2030. Among them, the economic development level had the greatest impact on the peak and time of the future carbon peak in the Xi'an Hi-tech Zone, whereas the industrial structure scenario, energy source structure scenario, and population size scenario had no peak before 2030. The future emission reduction path mainly started from decarbonization of the power sector, stable and high-quality economic development, green upgrading of energy and industrial structure, and building a green transportation system. This can reserve more preparation time for achieving carbon neutrality and provide decision-making reference for the low-carbon development of industrial parks in China.

To coordinate the contradiction between economic development and environmental pollution and achieve the sustainable development of the economy and society, the spatio-temporal variations in PM2.5 were analyzed based on PM2.5 concentration and meteorological data of the Yangtze River Delta (YRD) urban agglomeration. Wavelet transform coherence (WTC), partial wavelet coherence (PWC), and multiple wavelet coherence (MWC) were used to analyze the multi-scale coupling oscillation between PM2.5 and meteorological factors in the time-frequency domain. The results showed that:① the concentration of PM2.5 in the YRD decreased from northwest to southeast, and the spatial range with high PM2.5 concentration decreased annually. The spatial distribution characteristics of the seasonal average PM2.5 concentration were similar to those of the annual average PM2.5 concentration. PM2.5 concentration exhibited the seasonal variation characteristics of high in winter, low in summer, and transitioning between spring and autumn. ② PM2.5 concentration decreased from 2015 to 2021, and the compliance rate increased. The difference in annual average PM2.5 concentration was decreased with dynamic convergence characteristics. The convergence of PM2.5 concentration in summer was greater than that in winter. During the whole study period, the daily average PM2.5 concentration showed a "U" distribution, and the proportion of days with excellent and good PM2.5 levels were 49.72% and 41.45%, respectively. ③ The wavelet coherence between PM2.5 and meteorological factors was different in different time-frequency domains. The main factors affecting PM2.5 were different in different time-frequency scales. At all time-frequency scales, WTC and PWC showed that wind speed and temperature were the best explanatory variables of PM2.5 variation, respectively. ④ The larger the time-frequency scale, the stronger the interaction of multi-factor combinations to explain PM2.5 variations. The synergistic effect of temperature and wind speed could better explain the variation in PM2.5. These results can provide reference for air pollution control in the YRD.

An emerging "one stone, three birds" strategy was proposed to realize the value-added disposal of solid waste coal gangue (CG), the synthesis of superb adsorbent and the efficient decontamination of pollutants (i. e., dyes, heavy metals). In this process, the metal ions extrated from calcined coal gangue (CCG) was reconstituted by a one-step hydrothermal process to yield porous polymetallic silicate adsorbent (named HECCGA8h). The adsorbent has a high adsorption capacity of 270.27 and 185.53 mg/g for methylene blue (MB) and Cd(II), respectively. In the actual waters, the removal rate of MB by this adsorbent reaches 99.8% (in Yangtze River water) and 99.42% (in Seawater), and the removal rate of Cd(II) reaches 99.11% (in Yangtze River water) and 92.52% (in Seawater), respectively. Thermokinetic analysis showed that the adsorption of MB by HECCGA8h is spontaneous and endothermic with increased entropy, and the adsorption of Cd(II) is spontaneous and exothermic. The adsorption of MB is mainly driven by synergism of hydrogen bond, electrostatic attraction and ion exchange, and the adsorption of Cd(II) is mainly driven by the complexation and ion exchange between the surface group of the adsorbent and Cd(II). This research provides a new way for the realization of "treating waste with waste".

Epidemic diseases of crops caused by fungi deeply affected the course of human history and processed a major restriction on social and economic development. However, with the enormous misuse of existing antimicrobial drugs, an increasing number of fungi have developed serious resistance to them, making the diseases caused by pathogenic fungi even more challenging to control. Drug repurposing is an attractive alternative, it requires less time and investment in the drug development process than traditional R&D strategies. In this work, we screened 600 existing commercially available drugs, some of which had previously unknown activity against pathogenic fungi. From the primary screen at a fixed concentration of 100 µg/mL, 120, 162, 167, 85, 102, and 82 drugs were found to be effective against Rhizoctonia solani, Sclerotinia sclerotiorum, Botrytis cinerea, Phytophthora capsici, Fusarium graminearum and Fusarium oxysporum, respectively. They were divided into nine groups lead compounds, including quinoline alkaloids, benzimidazoles/carbamate esters, azoles, isothiazoles, pyrimidines, pyridines, piperidines/piperazines, ionic liquids and miscellaneous group, and simple structure-activity relationship analysis was carried out. Comparison with fungicides to identify the most promising drugs or lead structures for the development of new antifungal agents in agriculture.

ETHNOPHARMACOLOGICAL RELEVANCE: The recommendation of herbal prescriptions is a focus of research in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). Artificial intelligence (AI) algorithms can generate prescriptions by analysing symptom data. Current models mainly focus on the binary relationships between a group of symptoms and a group of TCM herbs. A smaller number of existing models focus on the ternary relationships between TCM symptoms, syndrome-types and herbs. However, the process of TCM diagnosis (symptom analysis) and treatment (prescription) is, in essence, a "multi-ary" (n-ary) relationship. Present models fall short of considering the n-ary relationships between symptoms, state-elements, syndrome-types and herbs. Therefore, there is room for improvement in TCM herbal prescription recommendation models. PURPOSE: To portray the n-ary relationship, this study proposes a prescription recommendation model based on a multigraph convolutional network (MGCN). It introduces two essential components of the TCM diagnosis process: state-elements and syndrome-types. METHODS: The MGCN consists of two modules: a TCM feature-aggregation module and a herbal medicine prediction module. The TCM feature-aggregation module simulates the n-ary relationships between symptoms and prescriptions by constructing a symptom-'state element'-symptom graph (Se) and a symptom-'syndrome-type'-symptom graph (Ts). The herbal medicine prediction module inputs state-elements, syndrome-types and symptom data and uses a multilayer perceptron (MLP) to predict a corresponding herbal prescription. To verify the effectiveness of the proposed model, numerous quantitative and qualitative experiments were conducted on the Treatise on Febrile Diseases dataset. RESULTS: In the experiments, the MGCN outperformed three other algorithms used for comparison. In addition, the experimental data shows that, of these three algorithms, the SVM performed best. The MGCN was 4.51%, 6.45% and 5.31% higher in Precision@5, Recall@5 and F1-score@5, respectively, than the SVM. We set the K-value to 5 and conducted two qualitative experiments. In the first case, all five herbs in the label were correctly predicted by the MGCN. In the second case, four of the five herbs were correctly predicted. CONCLUSIONS: Compared with existing AI algorithms, the MGCN significantly improved the accuracy of TCM herbal prescription recommendations. In addition, the MGCN provides a more accurate TCM prescription herbal recommendation scheme, giving it great practical application value.

BACKGROUND: Monascus pigments (MPs) produced by the genus Monascus, have been utilized for more than 2000 years in the food industry. In the present study, by submerged batch-fermentation (SBF), we were able to obtain a mutant strain with a high tolerance of inhibitory compounds generated from rice husk hydrolysate, allowing the production of MPs. RESULTS: The mutant strain, M. Purpureus M523 with high rice husk hydrolysate tolerance was obtained using the atmospheric and room temperature plasma (ARTP) screening system, producing 39.48 U mL-1 extracellular total MPs (yellow and orange MPs), using non-detoxified rice husk diluted sulfuric acid hydrolysate (RHSAH) as the carbon source in SBF. Extracellular MPs (exMPs) production was enhanced to 72.1 and 80.7 U mL-1 in supplemented SBF (SSBF) and immobilized fermentation (IF) using non-detoxified RHSAH, with productivities of 0.16 and 0.37 U mL-1  h-1 , respectively. In addition, our findings revealed that despite having a high RHSAH tolerance, the mutant strain was unable to degrade phenolic compounds. Furthermore, we discovered that inhibitory compounds, including furfural (Fur) and 5'-hydroxymethyl furfural (5'-HMF), not only inhibit MP biosynthesis, but also regulate the conversion of pigment components. CONCLUSION: The low-cost agricultural by-product, rice husk, can serve as an efficient substitute for MP production with high productivity via IF by Monascus spp. © 2021 Society of Chemical Industry.

Water environmental pollution caused by spent batteries is a nonignorable environmental issue. In this study, the early life stage of zebrafish was employed to assess the environmental risk of spent batteries after exposure to 0, 1%, 2%, 5% and 10% spent battery extract for 120 h. Our results clearly indicated that spent battery extract can significantly decrease the survival rate, hatching rate and body length and increase heart rate. Moreover, spent battery extract exposure-induced zebrafish larvae generate oxidative stress and inhibit the mRNA transcriptional levels of heat shock protein (HSP70) and metallothionein (MT) genes. These results showed that the spent batteries not only affected the survival and development performance of zebrafish at an early life stage but also caused oxidative stress and interfered with the detoxification of zebrafish. This study provided novel insight into spent battery induced toxicity in the early life stage of fish.

OBJECTIVE: This study aimed to understand the characteristics of dietary patterns among children aged 12 to 23 months and discusses the relationship between dietary patterns and the growth of children. METHOD: Cross-sectional data were selected from the National Nutrition and Health Systematic Survey for 0 to 18 year-old children in China ( n = 2,449) to describe the patterns of complementary feeding and the growth of children. Cluster analysis was used to analyze complementary feeding patterns, and an analysis of variance and Bonferroni test were conducted to analyze the relationship between Z scores and complementary feeding patterns. RESULTS: Four dietary patterns were identified among the children via cluster analysis. In Pattern 4 ( n = 104, 4.2%), children still consumed milk as their staple food. They displayed the lowest grain, fruit, vegetable, egg, and flesh foods consumption, a medium frequency of breast milk consumption, and a high frequency of dairy product consumption. Pattern 4 had the lowest length-for-age Z scores and weight-for-age Z scores, with -0.10 ± 1.34 and 0.24 ± 1.00, respectively ( F = 7.940, P < 0.001; F = 5.317, P < 0.001). CONCLUSION: Although China is undergoing rapid urbanization and economic development, there is still a phenomenon of insufficient intake of protein-rich foods and dairy-based dietary patterns at the stage of complementary food introduced among children aged 12 to 23 months.

Groundwater, one of the important water resources, plays an important role in maintaining sustainable social and economic development. The ecological compensation of groundwater is a beneficial tool for guaranteeing reasonable exploitation and utilization of groundwater resources. However, there is a lack of associated studies, especially compensation budget. We proposed an integrated groundwater compensation standard model, which consisted of four components: base, stimulus and punishment, research and development, and potential risk. The priority level of compensation was estimated by considering regional climate and economic conditions comprehensively. The model was applied to a total of 11 cities in Shanxi Province to calculate the groundwater ecolo-gical compensation standard. The results showed that the base compensation accounted for the largest proportion in the total compensation, with the non-market value contributing more than 60%. Our results indicated that groundwater had a high regulated service value. From 2008 to 2017, the development coefficient of each city had significantly increased, suggesting the improved regional economic level and enhanced compensation capacity. Compensation priority was affected by the non-market value of groundwater and economic level, and obvious difference in the compensation priority existed in all the cities, implying the requirement for the implement of groundwater ecological compensation. Meanwhile, we suggested that groundwater risk compensation system should be improved, special funds should be set up for supporting research projects on groundwater ecological compensation, and long-term effective compensation mechanisms should be established.

OBJECTIVE: This study aims to explore trends in sedentary behavior among Chinese children aged 6-17 years per demographic and social characteristics. METHODS: A total of 4,341 children aged 6-17 years who participated in the China Health and Nutrition Survey from 2004 to 2015 were included. Repeated measures from mixed-effects models were applied to test trends in sedentary behaviors, which were further analyzed after applying stratification according to gender, age, urbanization level, residential area, and region. Random-effects ordinal regression models were used to examine the trends at sedentary levels. RESULTS: From 2004 to 2015, sedentary time among children aged 6-17 years increased from 23.9 ± 0.6 h/week to 25.7 ± 0.6 h/week ( P < 0.001). Increases of 3.1 h/week ( P < 0.001), 2.3 h/week ( P = 0.012), and 1.3 h/week ( P = 0.042) were found among the low-, medium-, and high-urbanization groups respectively and increased by 2.0 h/week ( P < 0.001) and 1.3 h/week ( P = 0.002) among rural and urban children, respectively. The proportion of Chinese children with average daily screen time below 2 hours declined by 10.2% ( OR = 0.51, 95% CI: 0.42-0.63, P < 0.001); a decreasing trend was observed in both boys and girls. CONCLUSIONS: Sedentary time among Chinese children aged 6-17 years showed an upward trend from 2004 to 2015, especially among children residing in rural areas and regions with low urbanization levels.

Aimed to explore the trends in physical activity among Chinese children, data of 4,341 children aged 6-17 years who participated in at least one round of "China Health and Nutrition Survey" from 2004 to 2015 were analyzed. Repeated measures mixed models were applied to test the trends in physical activity, which were further analyzed after applying stratification on gender, age, urbanization level, residential area and region. The volume of total physical activity in Chinese children aged 6-17 years showed a downward trend from 2004 to 2015, especially among children residing in medium and high urbanization communities, the south and urban areas of China, so that more efforts need to be put to promote their physical activity.

ETHNOPHARMACOLOGICAL RELEVANCE: 25 flavors of the turquoise pill, a traditional Tibetan medicine for the treatment of various types of hepatitis, has not been investigated on its safety, especially the component mineral turquoise, which is believed to be essential but worried for its potential toxicity. AIM OF THE STUDY: To explore the potential acute toxicity and function of 25 flavors of the turquoise pill and turquoise, the possible mechanism of the effects of turquoise and 25 flavors of the turquoise pill were systematically studied based on 1H NMR metabolomics. MATERIALS AND METHODS: The rats were administered with turquoise and 25 flavors of the turquoise pill by gavage for 7 days, and samples of serum, liver, and kidney were collected. The potential toxicity and function of turquoise and 25 flavors of the turquoise pill on the liver and kidney of SD rats were evaluated by 1H NMR metabonomics, histopathology, and biochemical indexes. RESULTS: The results demonstrated that 25 flavors of the turquoise pill could scavenge free oxygen radicals, strengthen aerobic respiration and inhibit glycolysis in the liver. It did not cause oxidative stress in the kidney with no obvious damage. By modulation of branched-chain amino acids (BCAAs), 25 flavors of the turquoise pill can improve the utilization of glucose and promote aerobic respiration of the kidney. CONCLUSION: Considering the high dosage and short duration used in this study relative to their typical clinical usage, administration of 25 flavors of the turquoise pill and its component mineral turquoise are safe to livers and kidneys.

To reveal the pollution characteristics and the health risks of the trace heavy metals in the atmospheric particles in Baoding, Hebei province, PM2.5 samples were collected using a middle volume sampler, and the mass concentrations of V, Cr, Mn, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn, As, Cd, and Pb in the samples were determined by microwave digestion-inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometry (ICP-MS). The results showed that the PM2.5 concentration in Baoding ranged from 16.84-476.2 µg·m-3. During sampling, 65 samples were above the second-level standard of the Ambient Air Quality Standards (GB 3095-2012) by 54.2%. The most heavy metal elements showed higher levels in nighttime than during the daytime, except for except for Ni, Mn, and Co. Obvious seasonal variation was found with the trend of winter > autumn > spring > summer. The enrichment factors for Cu, Zn, Pb, and Cd were more than 1.5, indicating that those metals mainly came from anthropogenic emissions, such as traffic sources. Health risk assessment results indicated that the non-carcinogenic risk of heavy metals in PM2.5 in Baoding was small, and the carcinogenic risk resulting form As, Cr, Cd, and Co was greater for adults than for children.

ETHNOPHARMACOLOGICAL RELEVANCE: Gastrodiae Rhizoma (GR), a well-known and commonly-used TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) for treating headache, dizziness, tetanus, epilepsy, and etc., has been proven to relieve chronic atrophic gastritis (CAG). Due to its complex ingredients, the active fractions responsible for the treatment of CAG remain largely unknown. AIM OF THE STUDY: To explore the underlying material and interpret its underlying mechanism, the therapeutic effect of extract from different polar parts of Gastrodiae Rhizoma on autoimmune CAG was studied based on the 1H NMR metabolomics. MATERIALS AND METHODS: The rat model of CAG was established by autoimmune method. The modeled CAG rats were then treated with 4 polar parts (T1-4 in descending polarity, corresponding to water, n-butanol, ethyl acetate and petroleum ether extracts, respectively) of Gastrodiae Rhizoma for 21 consecutive days. The stomach and serum samples were collected and then subjected to histopathology observation, biochemical measurement (MDA, SOD, GSH, NO, XOD and pepsin), 1H NMR metabolic profiling and multivariate/univariate statistical analysis. RESULTS: The results showed that T1 had the best therapeutic effect, T2 the second, and T3 and T4 the poorest with no obvious therapeutic effect, demonstrating that the effective components of Gastrodiae Rhizoma should be compounds of high polarity. T1 achieved good therapeutic effects due to the anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant activities, and by rectifying the disturbed energy and amino acid metabolism in CAG model. CONCLUSION: This integrated metabolomics approach proved the validity of the therapeutic effect of extract from different polar parts of Gastrodiae Rhizoma on autoimmune CAG, providing new insights into the underlying mechanisms, and demonstrating the feasibility of metabolomics to evaluate efficacy of herbal drug, which is often difficult by traditional means.

Neonicotinoids are the most widely used insecticides worldwide, but there is mounting evidence demonstrating that they have adverse effects on nontarget organisms. However, little is known about the extent of environmental neonicotinoids contamination in China. In this study, a total of 693 honey samples from across China, from both Apis melifera and Apis cerana, were analyzed to examine neonicotinoid concentrations and their geographical distribution, and correlation with the primary plant species from which the honey was obtained. Furthermore, chronic and acute exposure risk and risk ranking for humans eating honey were investigated, and risks to bees were also considered. The results revealed that 40.8% of the samples contained at least one of the five neonicotinoids tested. Honeys from commercial crops were found to be more frequently contaminated with neonicotinoids than those from noncommercial crops. Honey samples from Apis mellifera were more frequently contaminated than those from Apis cerana. The concentrations of neonicotinoids found in honey overlapped with those that have been found to have significant adverse effects on honeybee health. The dietary risk assessments indicated that the levels of neonicotinoids detected in honey were likely to be safe for human consumption.

PURPOSE: The proliferation marker Ki67 has prognostic and predictive values in breast cancer, and the cutoff of the Ki67 label index (LI) is a key index for chemotherapy. However, poor interobserver consistency in Ki67 assessment has limited the clinical use of Ki67, especially in luminal cancers. Here, we reported a modified Ki67 assessment method, size-set semiautomatic counting (SSSAC) and investigated its interobserver reproducibility. METHODS: One hundred invasive breast cancer tissues were set immunostained for Ki67 in one laboratory, scanned as digital slides, and sent to 41 pathologists at the laboratories of 16 hospitals for Ki67 LI assessment using size-set semiautomatic counting (SSSAC), size-set visual assessment (SSVA) and size-set digital image analysis (SSDIA) with a specific image viewing software (Aperio Image Scope, Leica, Germany). The intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC) and Bland-Altman plot were used to evaluate interobserver reproducibility. The Wilcoxon signed-rank test was used to analyze the difference in the Ki67 values assessed by SSSAC and SSDIA. RESULTS: SSSAC demonstrated better interobserver reproducibility (ICC = 0.942) than SSVA (ICC = 0.802). The interobserver reproducibility was better in Ki67 homogeneously stained slides and centralized hot-spot slides than in scattered hot-spot slides. The Ki67 value assessed with SSSAC was obviously higher than that assessed with SSDIA (negative ranks (SSDIA < SSSAC): N = 80, sum of ranks = 4274.50; positive ranks (SSDIA > SSSAC): N = 17, sum of ranks = 478.50; Z = -6.837; P < 0.001). CONCLUSION: SSSAC shows satisfactory interobserver reproducibility in the Ki67 assessment of breast cancer and may be a candidate standard method for Ki67 LI assessment in breast cancer and other malignancies.

Monascus pigments (MPs), the secondary metabolites produced by the fungal strains of Monascus spp., hold commercial importance in not only the food and meat industries, but also therapeutic, cosmetic, and textile industries. To reduce the cost of MPs production, the utilization of rice straw hydrolysate as a substrate in submerged fermentation was investigated. The atmospheric and room temperature plasma (ARTP) mutation system was employed to develop a mutant strain Monascus purpureus M630, with high total extracellular Monascus pigments (exMPs) production of 34.12 U/mL in submerged fermentation with glucose-based medium. The results revealed that M. purpureus M630 produces 8.61 U/mL and 20.86 U/mL of exMPs in rice straw hydrolysate alone or in combination with glucose fermentation medium, respectively. Furfural (Fur) and 5'-hydroxymethyl furfural (5'-HMF), produced during pretreatment and hydrolysis of rice straw; are generally inhibitory for microbial growth and fermentation. Our findings revealed that M. purpureus M630 develops the tolerance and adaptation mechanisms in response to 5'-HMF and Fur during growth and MPs biosynthesis in rice straw hydrolysate. In conclusion, we report that rice straw hydrolysate can serve as an efficient and low-cost substitute for the MP production through submerged fermentation by Monascus spp.

OBJECTIVES: Untreated schizophrenia commonly leads to poor prognosis. The medication treatment rate of schizophrenia patients in economically underdeveloped areas of China has not been well-studied. This study aimed to examine the pattern of unmedicated schizophrenia patients in economically underdeveloped rural and urban areas of China. METHOD: A total of 4240 schizophrenia patients in Lanzhou (1720 rural and 2520 urban patients) registered in the community mental-health service system in Lanzhou, Gansu province were included. Their socio-demographic and clinical characteristics including medication treatment status were collected and analyzed. RESULTS: The proportion of unmedicated schizophrenia patients was 22.5% (n = 953) in the whole sample, with 32.3% (556/1720) in rural and 15.8% (397/2520) in urban patients (X2=161.1, P < 0.001). Multiple logistic regression analyses revealed that unmedicated schizophrenia patients in rural area were more likely to be older (OR=1.02, 95%CI: 1.01-1.03), male (OR=1.35, 95%CI: 1.07-1.71), unmarried (OR=0.71, 95%CI: 0.55-0.91), and have lower educational level (OR=0.39, 95%CI: 0.24-0.65), longer illness duration (OR=1.01, 95%CI: 1.00-1.02) and less frequent admissions (OR=0.46, 95%CI: 0.38-0.54). In contrast, unmedicated patients in urban area were more likely to be older (OR=1.01, 95%CI: 1.00-1.02), unmarried (OR=0.77, 95%CI: 0.61-0.98), employed (OR=2.38, 95%CI: 1.87-3.04), and have lower educational level (OR=0.49, 95%CI: 0.37-0.65), better financial status (OR=0.60, 95%CI: 0.48-0.76) and less frequent admissions (OR=0.81, 95%CI: 0.75-0.87). CONCLUSIONS: The rate of unmedicated schizophrenia patients is high in economically underdeveloped areas of China, particularly in rural areas. Effective policies and measures should be implemented urgently to improve the treatment rate in this population.

Based on 2017 hourly air quality monitoring data, NDVI 16 d synthetic data, and socio-economic data, the air pollution characteristics of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei were systematically analyzed, and its variation, normalized vegetation index, and the relationship between the index (NDVI) and its impact on socio-economic factors, were analyzed by linear regression analysis and a geographically weighted regression model. The conclusions are as follows:①The overall air pollution in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region is characterized by high-level pollution over the southern plain areas and low-level pollution over the northern mountainous areas. The air pollution increases from north to south, and shows significant spatial heterogeneity. ②From the perspective of seasonal changes, the overall order winter > autumn > spring > summer is observed, and atmospheric pollution in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region shows significant temporal heterogeneity. ③The concentrations of pollutants such as SO2, NO2, CO, PM2.5, and PM10 all have a negative correlation with the NDVI value. Assuming that natural conditions such as climate and topography are relatively consistent, the lower the NDVI value, the more obvious the interference of human activities, the more concentrated the industrial economy layout, and the greater the pollution emissions, the more significant the negative impact on air quality. ④The NDVI reflects the land use, population distribution, and industrial layout to a certain extent, and these factors directly or indirectly determine the level of air pollution emissions and thus indicate the pollution distribution characteristics of the region. ⑤The results of the GWR model calculation show that the higher the level of economic development, the better the correlation between the NDVI and socioeconomic factors, PM2.5, and other pollutant concentrations. The distribution of the NDVI can generally reflect the level of social and economic development. The distribution of the NDVI also correlates to the distribution of PM2.5 to a certain extent.
