RESUMO

Recovering renewable chemicals from de-fatted microalgal residue derived from lipid extraction within the algal-derived biofuel sector is crucial, given the rising significance of microalgal-derived biodiesel as a potential substitute for petroleum-based liquid fuels. As a circular economy strategy, effective valorization of de-fatted biomass significantly improves the energetic and economic facets of establishing a sustainable algal-derived biofuel industry. In this scenario, this study investigates flash catalytic pyrolysis as a sustainable pathway for valorizing Scenedesmus sp. post-extraction residue (SPR), potentially yielding a bio-oil enriched with upgraded characteristics, especially renewable aromatic hydrocarbons. In the scope of this study, volatile products from catalytic and non-catalytic flash pyrolysis were characterized using a micro-furnace type temperature programmable pyrolyzer coupled with gas chromatographic separation and mass spectrometry detection (Py-GC/MS). Flash pyrolysis of SPR resulted in volatile products with elevated oxygen and nitrogen compounds with concentrations of 46.4% and 26.4%, respectively. In contrast, flash pyrolysis of lyophilized microalgal biomass resulted in lower concentrations of these compounds, with 40.9% oxygen and 17.3% nitrogen. Upgrading volatile pyrolysis products from SPR led to volatile products comprised of only hydrocarbons, while completely removing oxygen and nitrogen-containing compounds. This was achieved by utilizing a low-cost HZSM-5 catalyst within a catalytic bed at 500 °C. Catalytic experiments also indicate the potential conversion of SPR into a bio-oil rich in monocyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, primarily BETX, with toluene comprising over one-third of its composition, thus presenting a sustainable pathway for producing an aromatic hydrocarbon-rich bio-oil derived from SPR. Another significant finding was that 97.8% of the hydrocarbon fraction fell within the gasoline range (C5-C12), and 35.5% fell within the jet fuel range (C8-C16). Thus, flash catalytic pyrolysis of SPR exhibits significant promise for application in drop-in biofuel production, including green gasoline and bio-jet fuel, aligning with the principles of the circular economy, green chemistry, and bio-refinery.

The rate and extent of biodegradation of petroleum hydrocarbons in the different aquatic environments is an important element to address. The major avenue for removing petroleum hydrocarbons from the environment is thought to be biodegradation. The present study involves the development of predictive quantitative structure-property relationship (QSPR) models for the primary biodegradation half-life of petroleum hydrocarbons that may be used to forecast the biodegradation half-life of untested petroleum hydrocarbons within the established models' applicability domain. These models use easily computable two-dimensional (2D) descriptors to investigate important structural characteristics needed for the biodegradation of petroleum hydrocarbons in freshwater (dataset 1), temperate seawater (dataset 2), and arctic seawater (dataset 3). All the developed models follow OECD guidelines. We have used double cross-validation, best subset selection, and partial least squares tools for model development. In addition, the small dataset modeler tool has been successfully used for the dataset with very few compounds (dataset 3 with 17 compounds), where dataset division was not possible. The resultant models are robust, predictive, and mechanistically interpretable based on both internal and external validation metrics (R2 range of 0.605-0.959. Q2(Loo) range of 0.509-0.904, and Q2F1 range of 0.526-0.959). The intelligent consensus predictor tool has been used for the improvement of the prediction quality for test set compounds which provided superior outcomes to those from individual partial least squares models based on several metrics (Q2F1 = 0.808 and Q2F2 = 0.805 for dataset 1 in freshwater). Molecular size and hydrophilic factor for freshwater, frequency of two carbon atoms at topological distance 4 for temperate seawater, and electronegative atom count relative to size for arctic seawater were found to be the most significant descriptors responsible for the regulation of biodegradation half-life of petroleum hydrocarbons.

BACKGROUND: Refined coal tar sealant (RCTS) emulsions are used to seal the surface of asphalt pavement. Nine of the 22 polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) evaluated in this study are classified as known, probable, or possible human carcinogens. Exposure assessment research for RCTS workers has not been published previously. OBJECTIVES: The overall objective of this study was to develop a representative occupational exposure assessment of PAH exposure for RCTS workers based on worksite surveys. The specific aims were to: 1) quantify full-shift airborne occupational exposures to PAHs among RCTS workers; 2) quantify workers' dermal exposures to PAHs; 3) quantify biomarkers of PAH exposure in workers' urine; 4) identify specific job titles associated with RCTS exposure; and 5) apply these results to a biological exposure index to assess risk of potential genotoxicity from occupational exposures. METHODS: A total of twenty-one RCTS workers were recruited from three companies. Personal and area air samples were collected using a modification of NIOSH Method 5515. Dermal exposure was assessed by hand and neck wipes before and after shifts. Twenty-two PAHs were quantified via gas chromatography-mass spectrometry selected ion monitoring. Internal dose was estimated by quantifying select PAH metabolites in pre- and post-shift urine samples using on-line solid phase extraction-high performance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry. RESULTS: PAH levels in the worker breathing zones were highest for naphthalene, acenaphthene, and phenanthrene, with geometric means of 52.1, 11.4, and 9.8 µg/m3, respectively. Hand wipe levels of phenanthrene, fluoranthene and pyrene were the highest among the 22 PAHs with geometric means of 7.9, 7.7, and 5.5 µg/cm2, respectively. Urinary PAH biomarkers for naphthalene, fluorene, phenanthrene, and pyrene were detected in all workers and were higher for post-shift samples than those collected pre-shift. Urinary concentrations of the metabolite 1-hydroxypyrene were greater than the American Conference of Governmental Industrial Hygienists (ACGIH) Biological Exposure Index (BEI) for this metabolite in 89 percent of post-shift samples collected on the final day of the work week or field survey. Statistically significances were found between concentrations of fluorene, naphthalene, and phenanthrene in the breathing zone of workers and their corresponding urinary PAH biomarkers. Workers were placed in two work place exposure groups: applicators and non-applicators. Applicators had higher total PAH concentrations in personal breathing zone (PBZ) air samples than non-applicators and were more likely to have post-shift hand wipe concentrations significantly higher than pre-shift concentrations. Concentrations of post-shift urinary biomarkers were higher, albeit not significantly, for applicators than non-applicators. CONCLUSIONS: The exposure results from RCTS worker samples cannot be explained by proximal factors such as nearby restaurants or construction. Air and skin concentration levels were substantially higher for RCTS workers than previously published levels among asphalt workers for all PAHs. PAH profiles on skin wipes were more consistent with RCTS sealant product than air samples. Last day post-shift urinary concentrations of 1-hydroxypyrene greatly exceeded the ACGIH BEI benchmark of 2.5 µg/L in 25 of 26 samples, which suggests occupational exposure and risk of genotoxicity. When pyrene and benzo[a]pyrene were both detected, concentration ratios from personal exposure samples were used to calculate the adjusted BEI. Concentrations of 1-hydroxypyrene exceeded the adjusted BEIs for air, hand wipes, and neck wipes in most cases. These results indicate the need to increase safety controls and exposure mitigation for RCTS workers.

HYPOTHESIS: Inorganic small particles stemming from mineral extraction (i.e. mining waste) could be used as additive for road paving applications to improve bitumen mechanical properties. Such an approach is expected to increase bitumen life-cycle cutting costs connected to their preparation and to reduce environmental issues. Experiment: Bitumens containing various amounts (up to 10% w/w) of filler made of mining tailings fine powder were characterized by means of oscillatory rheometry focusing on the effect of the filler content, temperature and filler milling time. FINDINGS: (i) Superior resistance to stress, rutting, and fatigue were shown by the filler-containing mixtures. In addition, higher durability was observed for the filler concentration of 10% w/w. These effects were interpreted on the grounds of the physico-chemical interactions between the bitumen and the inorganic filler suggesting important utilizations. (ii) The present research points towards a circular economy path. Particularly, this study demonstrates how an abundant and potentially harmful waste can be converted into a high value-added component for road paving. Furthermore, increased durability of bitumen is beneficial in both economic and environmental terms.

Globally, the growing volume of waste tires and plastics has posed significant concerns about their sustainable and economical disposal. Pyrolysis provides a way for effective treatment and management of these wastes, enabling recovery of energy and produces solid pyrolytic char as a by-product. The use of pyrolytic chars in asphalt binder modification has recently gained significant interest among researchers. As asphalt binder aging influences the cracking, rutting, and moisture damage performance of asphalt binder and the mixtures, evaluation of aging characteristics of char modified asphalt binders is quite important. The main objective of this study is the investigation of the aging characteristics of asphalt binders modified with waste tire pyrolytic char (TPC) and waste plastic pyrolytic char (PPC) through rheological and spectroscopic evaluations. To imitate short-term and long-term aging conditions, the asphalt binders were first treated in a rolling thin film oven (RTFO) and then in a pressure aging vessel (PAV). The aging characteristics were determined using four rheological aging indices based on complex modulus (G*), phase angle (δ), zero shear viscosity (ZSV), and non-recoverable creep compliance (Jnr) from multiple stress creep and recovery (MSCR) test. The fatigue cracking potential was then measured through binder yield energy test (BYET). These parameters were measured through a dynamic shear rheometer. Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) and proton nuclear magnetic resonance (1H-NMR) spectroscopy analyses were then used to investigate changes in chemical composition due to aging in the char modified binders. Both TPC and PPC improved the high-temperature deformation resistance properties of asphalt binder. The TPC-modified binder showed better aging resistance than the control and PPC-modified binders, based on the different rheological and spectroscopic indices. The pyrolytic char modified binders also demonstrated good fatigue performance.

The construction industry in the 21st century faces numerous global challenges associated with growing concerns for the environment. Therefore, this review focuses on the role of lignin and its derivatives in sustainable construction. Lignin's properties are defined in terms of their structure/property relationships and how structural differences arising from lignin extraction methods influence its application within the construction sector. Lignin and lignin composites allow the partial replacement of petroleum products, making the final materials and the entire construction sector more sustainable. The latest technological developments associated with cement composites, rigid polyurethane foams, paints and coatings, phenolic or epoxy resins, and bitumen replacements are discussed in terms of key engineering parameters. The application of life cycle assessment in construction, which is important from the point of view of estimating the environmental impact of various solutions and materials, is also discussed.

Oil exploration's devastation on health and the environment may far outweigh its economic benefits. An oil spill occurred at Egbokodo River in Delta State, Nigeria, thereby polluting the land and water bodies. The study was therefore aimed at evaluating the impacts of iron, lead, cadmium, and chromium on the zooplankton community structure of Egbokodo River and the potential health risks. Zooplankton and surface water samples were collected to investigate the concentrations of trace metals and zooplankton abundance. The associated carcinogenic and non-carcinogenic effects of the metals in the water were analyzed. Trace metal concentrations in the surface water were determined using atomic absorption spectroscopy (Philips model PU 9100) and zooplankton samples were collected using a hydrobios plankton net (mesh size 25 µm). Total petroleum hydrocarbons (TPH) and oil and grease (OG) were determined using Agilent 7890B gas chromatography coupled to flame ionization detector (GC-FID) and volumetric analysis respectively. The trend of the abundance of zooplanktons cross the river was 18 individuals (Station A) < 100 individuals (Station B) < 155 individuals (Station C). Cyclopoida proved to be the most resilient to the impacts of the oil spill. On a taxa basis, the order of abundance among Calanoida, Cyclopoida, Cladoceran, and Harpacticoida was Station C > Station B > Station A, except in Amphipoda where Station B > Station C > Station A was observed. Iron and lead posed significant carcinogenic risks that are liable to be inflicted by the ingestion of the water. The cumulative non-carcinogenic health risk in the male was the only significant (> 1) among the age groups. Total petroleum hydrocarbons (TPH), oil and grease (OG), iron, and lead had notable impacts on the general abundance of zooplankton in the aquatic habitat. The dominance of the Cyclopoida in the river buttressed the impact of the oil spill which warrants a prompt remediation measure. The pollution had notable ecological impacts on the zooplankton community structure of the aquatic habitat. The adults in the nearby human populations are liable to elicit carcinogenic health challenges associated with lead and iron ingestion. The males are at risk of non-carcinogenic illnesses which are associated with the combined toxicity effects of all the metals. The study suggests that the pollution in Egbokodo River was validated by the dominance of the Cyclopoida in the aquatic habitat. The study confers bioindicator reputation on the Cyclopoida for future biomonitoring studies.

In today's world, nanotechnology is reaching practically every ground and entering the human lifestyle by becoming a part of it. Thus, it is vital to check the cytotoxic and genotoxic effects of nanosubstances on plants, as they are the base constituent of ecosystem. The present work deals with the toxicity evaluation of metallosurfactant derived palladium oxide nanoparticles towards Allium sativum (Garlic cloves). The nanoparticles were prepared using microemulsion quenching method (a softer approach) using palladium metallosurfactants as precursors. The three ligands used were cetyltrimethylammonium chloride (CTAC), dodecylamine (DDA) and hexadecylamine (HEXA). Further, their characterization was done using TEM, Size Distribution curve, FESEM, EDS, XRD and Zeta potential. Garlic (Allium sativum) cloves were used to investigate the cytotoxicity and genotoxicity of fabricated PdO NPs. To check the cytotoxicity, optical microscopy was employed and for the genotoxic assessment, different parameters such as chromosomal aberrations in the mitosis, circular dichroism, and gel electrophoresis were utilized. From mitosis study, chromosomes aberrations were confirmed such as chromosomes stickiness, breakage, C-Mitosis, delay in anaphase, spindle fibre abnormality, laggard, vagrant and condensed chromosomes. Morphology of A. sativum clove, rooting and shooting pattern in the presence of PdO nanosuspension was observed. From all the experiments, it was concluded that all the three PdO nanosuspension are toxic in nature to both the cells and to genome, although, bishexadecyltrimethyl ammonium palladium tetrachloride (PdCTAC) Ns was found to be the most cytotoxic and genotoxic. Gel electrophoresis also confirmed the complete degradation of DNA in the presence of PdCTAC Ns.

In July 2013, a fatal train derailment led to an explosion and fire in the town of Lac-Mégantic (LM), Quebec, and the crude oil contamination of regional surface water, soil, and sediment in the adjacent Lake Mégantic. This study investigated the degradation potential of the spilled crude oil by using the sediments from the incident site as the source of microorganisms. Two light crude oils (LM source oil and Alberta Sweet Mixed Blend (ASMB)) were tested at 22 °C for 4 weeks and 4 °C for 8 weeks, respectively. The post-incubation biological and chemical information of the samples were analysed. There was no marked difference in degradation efficacy and biological activities for both the LM and ASMB oils, although the biodegradation potential differed between the two incubations. Higher temperature favoured the growth of microorganisms, thus for the degradation of all petroleum hydrocarbons, except for some conservative biomarkers. The degradation of both oils followed the order of resolved components > total saturated hydrocarbons (TSH) > unresolved complex mixture (UCM) >total aromatic hydrocarbons (TAH). Normal alkanes were generally degraded more significantly than branched ones, and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs). Degradation of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) and their alkylated congeners (APAHs) for both incubations generally decreased as the number of aromatic rings, and the degree of alkylation increased. This study showed that the LM sediments can biodegrade the petroleum hydrocarbons efficaciously if appropriate ambient temperatures are generated to favour the growth of autochthonous microorganisms.

The world population will rapidly grow from 7 to 9 billion by 2050 and this will parallel a surging annual plastics consumption from today's 350 million tons to well beyond 1 billion tons. The switch from a linear economy with its throwaway culture to a circular economy with efficient reuse of waste plastics is therefore mandatory. Hydrocarbon polymers, accounting for more than half the world's plastics production, enable closed-loop recycling and effective product-stewardship systems. High-molar-mass hydrocarbons serve as highly versatile, cost-, resource-, eco- and energy-efficient, durable lightweight materials produced by solvent-free, environmentally benign catalytic olefin polymerization. Nanophase separation and alignment of unentangled hydrocarbon polymers afford 100% recyclable self-reinforcing all-hydrocarbon composites without requiring the addition of either alien fibers or hazardous nanoparticles. Recycling of durable hydrocarbons is far superior to biodegradation. The facile thermal degradation enables liquefaction and quantitative recovery of low molar mass hydrocarbon oil and gas. Teamed up with biomass-to-liquid and carbon dioxide-to-fuel conversions, powered by renewable energy, waste hydrocarbons serve as renewable hydrocarbon feedstocks for the synthesis of high molar mass hydrocarbon materials. Herein, an overview is given on how innovations in catalyst and process technology enable tailoring of advanced recyclable hydrocarbon materials meeting the needs of sustainable development and a circular economy.

The Lower Athabasca Region (LAR) is home to the largest bitumen deposit in Alberta, and has seen industrial development related to the extraction and processing of bituminous sands since the late 1960s. Along with industrial and economic growth related to oil sands development, environmental concerns have increased in recent decades, including those about potential effects on fish. We measured major and trace element concentrations in Trout-perch otoliths from the Athabasca and Clearwater Rivers in the LAR, to illustrate spatial variations and identify possible industrial impacts. Both laser ablation ICP-MS and solution-based ICP-MS methods were employed. Of the trace elements enriched in bitumen (V, Ni, Mo and Re), only Ni and Re were above the limits of detection using at least one of the methods. The only significant differences in element concentrations between upstream and downstream locations were found for Li, Cu, and Pb which were more abundant upstream of industry. For comparison and additional perspective, otoliths from the same fish species, but taken from the Batchawana River in northern Ontario, were also examined. The fish from Alberta yielded greater concentrations of Ba, Bi, Li, Mg, Na, Re, Sc, Th and Y, but the Ontario fish had more Cr, Rb and Tl, likely because of differences in geology.

Soil contamination with total petroleum hydrocarbons (TPH) is widespread throughout the globe due to the massive production of TPH anthropogenically and its occurrence in the soil. TPH is toxic to beneficial soil organisms and humans and thus has become a serious concern among the public. Traditionally TPH toxicity in the soil is estimated based on chemical fractions and a range of bioassays including plants, invertebrates and microorganisms. There is a large inconsistency among ecotoxicology data using these assays due to the nature of TPH and their weathering. Therefore, in this article, we critically reviewed the weathered conditions of TPH, the potential fate in soil and the bioindicators for the assessment of the ecotoxicity. Based on the current research and the state-of-the-art problem, we also highlighted key recommendations for future research scope for the real-world solution of the ecotoxicological studies of hydrocarbons.

Total petroleum hydrocarbons (TPH), n-alkanes, petroleum-related biomarkers of terpanes and steranes, and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) were analyzed in the intertidal sediments in the Bay of Fundy, Nova Scotia/New Brunswick, Canada. Sites close to the harbour and more densely populated areas had higher TPH levels than other pristine areas. n-Alkanes presented a typical single bell-shape in n-C16 to n-C35 range and an obvious odd to even carbon preference. Most sites had trace amounts of petroleum biomarkers. Abundant non-alkylated PAHs and lower amounts of alkylated PAHs represented the major input of the incomplete combustion of solid (e.g., coal, coke, biomass, and coal tar) and liquid fuels. The toxicity estimation for PAHs indicates that they did not have potential toxicity to benthic organisms at most sampling sites. However, possible to probable negative effects from the measured PAH concentrations were found for the two samples from Courtenay Bay and Saint Andrews.

The evaluation of mineral oils by the Joint FAO/WHO Expert Committee on Food Additives (JECFA) provided high acceptable daily intakes for classes largely falling into the mass range strongly accumulated by humans. Because they are roughly 2 orders of magnitude above the present exposure, they authorize strongly increased exposure. An approach based on accumulation seems more adequate. Increased organ weights might be more critical than granulomas. Aromatic hydrocarbons with 1-2 aromatic rings should be distinguished from those with at least 3 aromatic rings. If mineral oil saturated hydrocarbon limits were low, no limit might be needed for the 1-2 ring aromatics. It should be considered to phase out substantial use of mineral oils in food application.

Social wasps encompass species displaying diverse social organization regarding colony cycle, nest foundation, caste differences (from none to significant dimorphism) and number of reproductive queens. Current phylogenetic data suggests that sociality occured independently in the subfamily Stenogastrinae and in the Polistinae+Vespinae clade. In most species, including those with the simplest social organization, colony reproduction is monopolised by a single or few females. Since their nest mates can also develop ovaries and lay eggs, dominant females must somehow inhibit them from reproducing. Physical interactions in the form of open aggression or, usually, ritualised dominance by the fertile females contribute to fertility inhibition in several species, but it is unlikely to function in large colonies. In the latter case, reproduction within the colony is likely to be regulated through pheromones. Relatively little is known about these semiochemicals. Studies on all the three social wasp subfamilies, revealed that cuticular hydrocarbon components differ in abundance between egg-laying and not egg-laying females and that their composition depends on fertility status. In several species, females have been reported to manifestly react towards females with activated ovaries, but there is little evidence to support the hypothesis that fertile individuals are either recognized through their CHC composition, or that over-represented CHC constituents can inhibit fertility. Moreover, very little information exists on the possibility that exocrine glands release fertility signals or chemicals inhibiting fertility.

The present study investigated oil dispersant toxicity to fish species typical of the cooler regions of Canada, together with less well-documented issues pertaining to oil dispersant monitoring. The oil dispersant toxicity of Corexit EC9500A was assessed for the freshwater fish species rainbow trout and the seawater species coho, chinook, and chum, with a final median lethal concentration (LC50) acute lethality range between 35.3 and 59.8 mg/L. The LC50 range was calculated using confirmed 0-h dispersant concentrations that were justified by fish mortality within the first 24 h of exposure and by variability of the dispersant indicator dioctyl sulfosuccinate (DOSS) used to monitor concentrations at later time points. To investigate DOSS as an oil dispersant indicator in the environment, microcosm systems were prepared containing Corexit EC9500A, Finasol OSR52, Slickgone NS, and Slickgone EW dispersants together with diluted bitumen. The DOSS indicator recovery was found to be stable for up to 13 d at 5 °C, 8 d at 10 °C, but significantly less than 8 d at ≥15 °C. After 3 d at temperatures ≥15 °C, the DOSS indicator recovery became less accurate and was dependent on multiple environmental factors including temperature, microbial activity, and aeration, with potential for loss of solvents and stabilizers. In this work, the properties of saturated and unsaturated fatty acid acyl chains 16:0, 18:0, 18:1(n-9)cis, 18:2(n-6)cis, 18:3(n-3)cis, 18:4(n-3)cis, 18:5(n-3)cis, 20:4(n-6)cis, 20:5(n-3)cis and 22:6(n-3)cis in a bilayer liquid crystalline state and similar hydrocarbon chains (with CH[Formula: see text] terminal groups instead of C=O groups) in the unperturbed state characterised by a lack of long-range interaction were investigated. The unperturbed hydrocarbon chains were modelled by Monte Carlo simulations at temperature [Formula: see text] K; sixteen fully hydrated homogeneous liquid crystalline phosphatidylcholine bilayers containing these chains were studied by molecular dynamics simulations at the same temperature. To eliminate effects of the simulation parameters, the molecular dynamics and Monte Carlo simulations were carried out using the same structural data and force field coefficients. From these computer simulations, the average distances between terminal carbon atoms of the chains (end-to-end distances) were calculated and compared. The trends in the end-to-end distances obtained for the unperturbed chains were found to be qualitatively similar to those obtained for the same lipid chains in the bilayers. So, for understanding of a number of processes in biological membranes (e.g., changes in fatty acid composition caused by environmental changes such as temperature and pressure), it is possible to use, at least as a first approximation, the relationships between the structure and properties for unperturbed or isolated hydrocarbon chains.

This study was conducted to quantify and rank the effectiveness of onsite exsitu remediation by enhanced natural attenuation using soil quality index. The investigation was conducted at three oil spill sites in the Niger Delta (5.317°N, 6.467°E), Nigeria with a predominance of Oxisols. Baseline assessment and a two-step post-remediation monitoring of the sites were conducted. Target contaminants including total petroleum hydrocarbon (TPH) and BTEX (benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and xylene) were analyzed by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry. Results of the baseline assessment showed that TPH concentrations across the study sites averaged between 5113 and 7640 mg/kg at 0- to 1-m depth, which was higher than the local regulatory value of 5000 mg/kg. The soil quality index across the sites ranged between 68 and 45, suggesting medium to high potential ecological health risks with medium to high priority for remediation. BTEX concentrations followed a similar trend. However, after remediation TPH degraded rapidly initially and then slowly but asymptotically during the post-remediation monitoring period. Then, soil quality index across the study sites ranged between 100 and 58, indicating very low to medium potential ecological health risks. This demonstrates the effectiveness of onsite exsitu remediation by enhanced natural attenuation as a remediation strategy for petroleum-contaminated soils, which holds great promise for the Niger Delta province.
