ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE: The aim: To justify the appropriate levels of physical capabilities development in 12-13-years-old girls with different levels of physical health. PATIENTS AND METHODS: Materials and methods: The research involved 101 12-13-years-old female high-school students. The choice of the female high-school students of this age is due to the greatest variability of their morphofunctional state. The physical health of the girls was assessed according to the method of H. L. Apanasenko. Physical fitness was assessed with the help of 13 motor tests that determine different aspects of girls' physical capabilities. RESULTS: Results: Appropriate normative standards of physical fitness for 12-13-years-old girls with different levels of health and rational parameters of physical activity were determined. It was established that a rational option for planning physical training for 12-13-years-old girls is: 26 % of time should be spent on strength development; speed and strength qualities and agility - by 22 %; endurance - 18 % and speed qualities - 12 %. CONCLUSION: Conclusions: It was found that the main principle of the implementation of developmental and health-oriented training sessions for physical education of adolescents is the differentiated use of loads and assessment of their physical fitness. Calculated with the help of correlation coefficients and regression equations, the appropriate values of physical development in 12-13-years-old girls with different levels of physical health make it possible, using appropriate exercises, to eliminate deviations in their health indicators.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE: The aim: Is to investigate the impact of sports games (football) on the level of somatic health and emotional state of students in the process of studying. PATIENTS AND METHODS: Materials and methods: The study was conducted at Kharkiv State Academy of Physical Culture and Sumy State University (Ukraine) in 2018-2019. The study involved 87 male students of the main department. Two groups were formed: an experimental group (EG, n=42), the students of which were engaged in a sports-oriented form of physical education (in the class of football), and a control group (CG, n=45), the students of which were training according to the traditional methods of organizing physical education classes at higher education institutions. The somatic health of students was assessed according to the method of H. L. Apanasenko, which provided for the determination of body mass, life, power, and Robinson indexes, heart rate recovery time after a standard exercise. The emotional state of students was determined by the WAM (Well-being, Activity, Mood) methodology. RESULTS: Results: At the end of the study, the EG students showed a significantly better level of somatic health than the CG students; the difference was significant and accounted for 3.18 points (p<0.001). At the same time, during the study, the EG students had a more pronounced significant increase in all studied health indicators (p<0.001). The best emotional state level of the students of both groups was recorded at the end of the study, but in the EG students it was significantly (p<0.05) better than in the CG students by 0.55-0.73 points. CONCLUSION: Conclusions: It was found that sports games classes, including football, had a positive effect on the level of somatic health and emotional state of students. Significant changes were observed in the performance of the respiratory and cardiovascular systems of students. The high level of somatic health and good emotional state of students will help to improve mastering academic disciplines at higher education institutions, provide preparation for active life and help to improve future professional activities.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE: The aim: Is to investigate the level and dynamics of students' physical health in the process of sports and health tourism engagement. PATIENTS AND METHODS: Materials and methods: The research involved the students (men) of Sumy State University (n = 60). The research was conducted in 2018-2020. The comparative analysis of indicators of physical development, functional status and health of the students who were engaged in sports and health tourism (sports section of the Department of Physical Education, n = 30) in the process of their physical education, and the students who attended traditional physical education classes (main section, n = 30) was carried out. The level of the students' health was assessed according to the methods by H. L. Apanasenko and V. P. Voitenko. RESULTS: Results: It was found that most indicators of physical development, functional status and state of health are significantly better at the end of the research in the students who were engaged in sports and health tourism during their education than in the students who were engaged in traditional physical education classes. The largest increases are in the indicators of body weight, circumferential size of the chest and the waist, heart rate, vital, strength indices, Robinson's index, duration of heart rate recovery after standard exercise, duration of breath-holding at inspiration and expiration, level of physical health. CONCLUSION: Conclusions: The high level of physical development, functional status and the state of students' health formed in the process of sports and health tourism will ensure the effectiveness of their learning in higher educational institutions owing to improving their mental and physical performance, as well as help to improve indicators of their lifesustaining and future professional activities.
