RESUMEN

Chronic infection with liver flukes (such as Clonorchis sinensis) can induce severe biliary injuries, which can cause cholangitis, biliary fibrosis, and even cholangiocarcinoma. The release of extracellular vesicles by C. sinensis (CsEVs) is of importance in the long-distance communication between the hosts and worms. However, the biological effects of EVs from liver fluke on biliary injuries and the underlying molecular mechanisms remain poorly characterized. In the present study, we found that CsEVs induced M1-like activation. In addition, the mice that were administrated with CsEVs showed severe biliary injuries associated with remarkable activation of M1-like macrophages. We further characterized the signatures of miRNAs packaged in CsEVs and identified a miRNA Csi-let-7a-5p, which was highly enriched. Further study showed that Csi-let-7a-5p facilitated the activation of M1-like macrophages by targeting Socs1 and Clec7a; however, CsEVs with silencing Csi-let-7a-5p showed a decrease in proinflammatory responses and biliary injuries, which involved in the Socs1- and Clec7a-regulated NF-κB signaling pathway. Our study demonstrates that Csi-let-7a-5p delivered by CsEVs plays a critical role in the activation of M1-like macrophages and contributes to the biliary injuries by targeting the Socs1- and Clec7a-mediated NF-κB signaling pathway, which indicates a mechanism contributing to biliary injuries caused by fluke infection. However, molecules other than Csi-let-7a-5p from CsEVs that may also promote M1-like polarization and exacerbate biliary injuries are not excluded.

RESUMEN

Topological insulators (TIs) are characterized by a full insulating gap in the bulk and gapless edge or surface states, which have attracted tremendous attention. 2D Bi (110), as a typical TI, is of particular interest due to its low symmetry structure and topologically protected and spin-momentum-locked Dirac surface states. However, the material's potential applications are hindered by difficulties in fabrication, due to its strong semi-metallic bonding and poor stability. In this study, a novel electrochemical intercalation method for the fabrication of ultrathin Bi (110) nanosheets with the highest yield ever reported is presented. These nanosheets are stabilized through cathodic exfoliation in a reductive environment and further modification with polymer ionic liquids. The versatility of these nanosheets is demonstrated by fabricating flexible acoustic sensors with ultrahigh sensitivity. These sensors can even detect sounds as quiet as 45 dB. Furthermore, these sensors are utilized for acoustic-to-electric energy conversion and information transfer. This work offers a promising approach for scalable fabrication and preservation of ultrathin 2D TI Bi (110) nanosheets and paves the way for their integration into smart devices.

RESUMEN

This study aims to investigate the effect of atractylenolide Ⅲ(ATL-Ⅲ) on hydrogen peroxide(H_2O_2)-induced endoplasmic reticulum stress and apoptosis of H9 c2 cells via the ROS/GRP78/caspase-12 signaling pathway. The binding activity of ATL-Ⅲ to GRP78 was determined by molecular docking. The result showed that ATL-Ⅲ had a good binding activity to GRP78, and the binding activity of ATL-Ⅲ was stronger than that of its specific inhibitor. The endoplasmic reticulum stress model of H9 c2 was established by H_2O_2(100 µmol·L~(-1)) treatment.Five groups were designed: blank control group, model group, and ATL-Ⅲ(15, 30, and 60 µmol·L~(-1)) groups.Apoptosis was detected by Hoechst/PI double staining and flow cytometry. The levels of superoxide dismutase(SOD), malondialdehyde(MDA), and lactate dehydrogenase(LDH) were measured by colorimetry. The levels of reactive oxygen species(ROS) and calcium(Ca~(2+)) in cytoplasm were determined by the fluorescence probe DCFH-DA and the calcium fluorescence probe Flou-4, respectively. The protein levels of GRP78, caspase-12, and caspase-3 were determined by Western blot, and the mRNA levels of GRP78 and caspase-12 by RT-qPCR.N-acetyl-L-cysteine(NAC) and 4-phenylbutyric acid(4-PBA) were respectively used to inhibit ROS and GRP78, and then the mechanism of ATL-Ⅲ in protecting the cells from endoplasmic reticulum stress induced by H_2O_2 were deduced.ATL-Ⅲ(15, 30, and 60 µmol·L~(-1)) decreased the apoptosis rate and ROS, MDA, and LDH levels(P<0.01), increased the SOD activity(P<0.01), and down-regulated the protein levels of GRP78, caspase-12, and caspase-3 and the mRNA levels of GRP78 and caspase-12(P<0.05).The addition of NAC decreased the apoptosis rate and ROS, MDA, GRP78, caspase-12, and caspase-3 levels(P<0.01), while it elevated the SOD level(P<0.01).The addition of 4-PBA also decreased the apoptosis rate and the levels of GRP78, caspase-12, caspase-3, and Ca~(2+)(P<0.01).The effect of inhibitors were consistent with that of ATL-Ⅲ.In conclusion, ATL-Ⅲ can protect H9 c2 cardiomyocytes by regulating ROS/GRP78/caspase-12 signaling pathway to inhibit H_2O_2-induced endoplasmic reticulum stress and apoptosis.

RESUMEN

Efficient cathode interfacial layers (CILs) are becoming essential elements for organic solar cells (OSCs). However, the absorption of commonly used cathode interfacial materials (CIMs) is either too weak or overlaps too much with that of photoactive materials, hindering their contribution to the light absorption. In this work, we demonstrate the construction of highly efficient CIMs based on 2,7-di-tert-butyl-4,5,9,10-pyrene diimide (t-PyDI) framework. By introducing amino, amino N-oxide and quaternary ammonium bromide as functional groups, three novel self-doped CIMs named t-PyDIN, t-PyDINO and t-PyDINBr are synthesized. These CIMs are capable of boosting the device performances by broadening the absorption, forming ohmic contact at the interface of active layer and electrode, as well as facilitating electron collection. Notably, the device based on t-PyDIN achieved a power conversion efficiency of 18.25 %, which is among the top efficiencies reported to date in binary OSCs.

RESUMEN

Dioscorea polystachya, named Chinese yam, is widely cultivated as a functional food and natural medicine in China. There is currently little information about the chemical characteristics of Dioscorea polystachya in different organs (tuber cortex and tuber flesh) and at various ages. In this study, an ultra-high-performance liquid chromatography coupled to quadrupole time-of-flight mass spectrometry (UPLC-QTOF/MS) was used to profile chemical compounds in Dioscorea polystachya. As a result, thirty-eight compounds were detected in yam tuber cortex and tuber flesh. More compounds were detected in yam tuber cortex than in tuber flesh. Compounds such as dehydroepiandrosterone, allantoin and flavonoids were selected as biomarker candidates. Dehydroepiandrosterone was found more abundant in tuber flesh, while allantoin and flavonoids showed higher levels in tuber cortex. Furthermore, the levels of dioscin, malvalic acid and sucrose differed significantly among age groups and were highest in the tubers at 2 years. While the levels of allantoin, adenosine and glutamine increased with the growing years and were highest at 4 years. Thus, 2-year old Dioscorea polystachya tubers could be harvested to prepare dioscin, malvalic acid and sucrose supplements. The 4-year-old Dioscorea polystachya tubers would be the best choice for obtaining a large amount of allantoin and adenosine in industrial production.

RESUMEN

BACKGROUND: Angioimmunoblastic T cell lymphoma (AITL) is an infrequent hematological malignancy with variable and often atypical presentations. The presence of dysproteinemia, autoantibodies and systemic involvement in AITL has often led to a delay in diagnosis or even misdiagnosis in practice. We herewith present a case of AITL that primarily presented with acute kidney injury associated with type II Cryoglobulinemia, the underlying cause was only identified 8 months after the emergence of initial symptoms. CASE PRESENTATION: A 67-year old woman presented with 2-month history of intermittent joint pain and a 3-day history of bilateral lower limb edema and acute kidney injury. Initial laboratory investigations showed marked hypocomplementemia with positive autoantibodies of ANA, anti-cardiolipin-IgM and direct antiglobulin. The serum and urinary Immunofixation and serum cryoglobulin tests were negative, while the serum free κ to λ light chain ratio was 0.231. A renal biopsy showed a diffuse proliferative glomerulonephritis with intracapillary pseudothrombi formation. There were orderly arranged microtubular structures of 20-35 nm in diameter in the subendothelial and mesangial area on electron microscopy. Shortly afterwards, the patient developed tingling affecting her finger tips and weak hands and legs. A diagnosis of cryoglobulinemia complicated with cryoglobulinemic glomerulonephritis and polyneuropathy was made. She responded well to methylprednisolone, plasma exchange and rituximab. However, 3 months later, she presented with generalized pruritic rash, weight loss, and inguinal lymphadenopathy. A subsequent inguinal excisional lymph node biopsy at month 8 revealed AITL as the underlying disease. CONCLUSIONS: AITL and its associated B cell dysregulation can give rise to autoimmunity and cryoglobulinemia which may conceal itself as the underlying disorder. In various clinical scenarios of auto-immune diseases, it is advisable that the clinicians should take into consideration the multi-faceted lymphoma.

RESUMEN

Two-dimensional (2D) hybrid perovskites have shown many attractive properties associated with their soft lattices and multiple quantum well structure. Herein, we report the synthesis and characterization of two new multifunctional 2D hybrid perovskites, (PED)CuCl4 and (BED)2 CuCl6 , which show reversible thermochromic behavior, dramatic temperature-dependent conductivity change, and strong ferromagnetism. Upon temperature change, the (PED)CuCl4 and (BED)2 CuCl6 crystals exhibit a reversible color change between yellow and red-brown. The associated structural changes were monitored by in situ temperature-dependent powder X-ray diffraction (PXRD). The (BED)2 CuCl6 exhibits superior thermal stability, with a thermochromic working temperature up to 443 K. The conductivity of (BED)2 CuCl6 changes over six orders of magnitude upon temperature change. The 2D perovskites exhibit ferromagnetic properties with Curie temperatures around 13 K.

RESUMEN

BACKGROUND: Central venous catheter (CVC) is commonly used to provide access for hemodialysis (HD) when arteriovenous access is not available. The misplacement of CVC into azygos vein (AV) is a rare but a potential serious complication. Previous reports communicated the opinion that left-sided catheterization predisposed to AV misplacement, but these reports concentrated on peripherally inserted CVCs, placed for indications rather than HD. Unintended AV misplacement of HD catheters (HDCs) has not been well studied. We seek to investigate factors associated with inadvertent AV miscannulation during HDC placement. METHODS: We are to present a case of unintentional misplacement of a tunneled HD catheter (tHDC) into the azygos arch from right internal jugular vein (RIJV) despite real-time fluoroscopy guidance. Additionally, we have undertaken a systematic literature search in Pubmed to study the anatomical and other factors related to unintended AV misposition in HD setting. RESULTS: From 2005 to August 31, 2018, a total of 11 articles containing 16 cases of misplacement of HDCs into AV were identified. Of the 17 cases of unintentional AV misposition including ours, the majority of the misguided HDCs (94.1%, 16/17) were tHDCs and only 1 case was related to a temporary (non-tunneled) catheter. Most catheter misplacements (88.2%, 15/17) were performed without real-time radiological guidance. The reported incidence of inadvertent AV cannulation from different institutions varied between 0.6% and 3.8%. Among the 16 misplaced tHDCs, the rates of AV misposition that arose from RIJV and left internal jugular vein (LIJV) insertion are even at 50%. CONCLUSIONS: Based upon anatomical and case studies, we have found that AV may join posterior aspect of superior vena cava at different directions and levels. Hence, this might explain why AV misplacement might occur whether an HDC is inserted from the LIJV or RIJV approach. By raising the awareness of this potential complication and how we may minimize it, we hope to reduce the future complication of AV misposition.

RESUMEN

Pheromones can be used as leafhopper attractants. However, commercial pheromone products, such as the Ingle lure, have certain limitations, including poor persistence in the field. In this study, (E)-2-hexenal, (Z)-3-hexen-1-ol, (Z)-3-hexenyl acetate, (E)-ocimene, linalool, and geraniol were selected and behaviorally tested as potential leafhopper attractants. Y-tube olfactometer tests showed that the C2 formulation was more effective than other formulations. In tea field trials, the number of leafhoppers caught by sticky board traps baited with C2 lures was greater than that caught by treatment. The number of leafhoppers attracted by the C2 lures was greater than that attracted by the commercial Ingle lures. Additionally, the total amount of active C2 components on lures was greater than that of the active components on the lure after 14 days. Thus, the results indicated that the C2 formulation may attract leafhoppers and have a greater persistence than other formulations in tea field.

RESUMEN

At present,Western medicine is widely used in the treatment of epilepsy. However, about 30%-40% of epileptic patients are resistant to them and are affected by the side effects of these drugs.Traditional Chinese medicine is effective in treating epileptic seizures and relieving complications caused by Western medicine. However, the active ingredients and mechanisms of traditional Chinese medicine remain unclear. This article reviews and summarizes the advances and mechanisms in treating epilepsy, such as Chinese medicine monomer, the extracts of single Chinese medicine and Chinese medicine compound.Chinese medicine monomers, including gastrodin, asarone, rhynchophylline, ligustrazine, tanshinone ⅡA,curcumin, etc.,have antiepileptic effects via regulating excitatory neurotransmitters and receptors, the expression of inflammatory factors,sodium/potassium ion channels and the expression of apoptotic protein, therefore protecting neurons. The extracts of single Chinese herbal including the extracts of Gastrodiae Rhizoma,Acori Tatarinowii Rhizoma,Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma,Ganoderma,Scutellariae Radix and Ginkgo Folium, etc.,have antiepileptic effects related to the inhibition of γ-aminobutyric acid receptor, upregulation of phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase signaling pathway and reduction of glutamate-induced excitotoxicity and oxidative stress response.Furthermore, these extracts can regulate ion channels and reduce oxidative damage of neurons.Chinese medicine compounds including Dianxian Qing Granules,Danxing Ningxian Granules,Huoxue Dingxian formulae, etc.,can improve the therapeutic effect on epilepsy through simultaneously regulating excitatory transmitters, apoptosis factors and cytokines.

RESUMEN

Microvesicles (MVs) derived from human mesenchymal stem cells (MSC MVs) were demonstrated to ameliorate inflammation in lungs. We have found their content of mRNA for keratinocyte growth factor was partly involved in their therapeutic effects. As MSC MVs also contained a substantial quantity of angiopoietin-1 (Ang-1) mRNA, which plays an essential role in vascular stabilization and resolving inflammation, we hypothesized that Ang-1 mRNA might similarly account for a part of their therapeutic effects. We downregulated Ang-1 mRNA expression in MVs, using a lentivirus vector carrying Ang-1 short hairpin RNA to transfect MSCs. A mouse model of lipopolysaccharide induced acute lung injury (ALI) was used in vivo. We also studied in vitro interactions between Ang-1 mRNA deficient MVs on macrophages and human lung microvascular endothelial cells. Compared with negative control, Ang-1 mRNA deficient MVs increased the influx of neutrophils and macrophage inflammatory protein-2 levels in bronchoalveolar lavage fluid by 136% and 105%, respectively, suggesting a deteriorative lung inflammation and a failure to restore pulmonary capillary permeability assessed by Evan's blue dye and bronchoalveolar lavage albumin level. In vitro, the addition of Ang-1 mRNA deficient MVs failed to maintain the integrity of endotoxin-stimulated microvascular endothelial cells and abrogated the decrease in tumor necrosis factor-α level and the increase in interleukin-10 level mediated by negative control in RAW 264.7 cells. In summary, the therapeutic effects of MVs in ALI, and their immunomodulatory properties on macrophages were partly mediated through their content of Ang-1 mRNA. Stem Cells 2017;35:1849-1859.

RESUMEN

BACKGROUND: The aim of this review was to evaluate the effect of laparoscopic surgery on the treatment of patients with gallbladder cancer (GBC). METHODS:: A comprehensive search of Medline and Cochrane Library was conducted to identify relevant articles. A meta-analysis was subsequently performed. RESULTS:: A total of 20 studies including 1217 patients met the inclusion criteria. The meta-analysis showed that the 5-year survival rate was significant higher in laparoscopic group than open group (48.4% vs. 38.5%; odds ratio [OR], 1.63; 95% confidence interval [CI], 1.22-2.19; P = 0.001). Although the scar recurrence rate was significant higher in laparoscopic group than open group (7.1% vs. 4.0%; OR, 2.10; 95% CI, 1.11-3.96; P = 0.02), the overall recurrence rates between two groups were not significant different (44.8% vs. 42.2%; OR, 0.86; 95% CI, 0.64-1.14; P = 0.29). In addition, compared with open extended cholecystectomy (EC), laparoscopic EC (LEC) was associated with less intraoperative blood loss, shorter post-operative hospital stays and insignificant less complication rate (10.0% vs. 18.3%; OR, 0.51; 95% CI, 0.15-1.73; P = 0.28). CONCLUSION: Laparoscopic simple cholecystectomy does not lead to a worse prognosis when applied on patients with GBC. LEC can be performed in specialised expert centres on elective patients.

RESUMEN

OBJECTIVES: The kidneys are frequently involved in antineutrophil cytoplasmic autoantibody (ANCA) associated small-vessel vasculitis (AASVV). The pathological hallmark of ANCA-associated glomerulonephritis (AAGN) is a pauci-immune necrotising crescentic glomerulonephritis. The histopathology of AAGN may change during the course of the disease as a consequence of immunosuppressive therapy. Herein, we report the pathological evolution of a case of AAGN. METHODS: We report a female presented with renal-limited AASVV, hypocomplementemia and nephrotic syndrome. The first renal biopsy revealed "crescentic" changes at presentation, but after treatment with immunosuppressive treatment, a second renal biopsy four years later showed "mixed" changes of AAGN and immune complex deposition mimicking a mesangial proliferative glomerulonephritis. A literature review was undertaken in order to understand these transformations and factors which determine the pathological transitions. RESULTS: AAGN is commonly described as a pauci-immune necrotising crescentic glomerulonephritis, but immune complex depositions have been frequently identified under electronic microscopy and is associated with greater levels of proteinuria. Acute lesions such as fibrinoid necrosis or glomerular crescent may completely disappear or reduce significantly after immunosuppressive therapy, but chronic changes may increase over time. CONCLUSIONS: Based on our review and the illustration of this case, the initial histopathology of an AAGN and its active fibrinoid necrosis and cellular glomerular crescent may disappear or resolve after immunosuppressive therapy with resulting non-distinctive feature. Understanding the transition may facilitate the clinical diagnosis and provide further insight into this disease.

RESUMEN

During clonorchiasis, immune responses of hosts are responsible for the removal of the worms and also are involved in the progress of the pathological damage caused by Clonorchis sinensis. Interleukin-33 (IL-33), a recently described cytokine signaling through the ST2 receptor, has emerged as a potent inducer to bile duct proliferation and fibrosis; however, little is known of this signaling in the pathogen-caused periductal inflammation and fibrosis. In the present study, using immunohistochemistry, real-time PCR, enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA), and flow cytometry, we studied the expression of IL-33/ST2 during C. sinensis infection, as well as their potential roles in C. sinensis-induced host immune responses. The results showed that a higher level of IL-33 was detected in the sera of patients of clonorchiasis (n = 45), compared with in those of healthy donors (n = 16). Similarly, in FVB mice experimentally infected with C. sinensis, a higher level of IL-33 was detected at latent stage both in the serum and in the liver, as well as the up-regulated expression of ST2 receptor on the inflammatory cells, especially on CD4(+) T cells in the liver of infected mice. Our results, for the first time, indicated that the increased IL-33/ST2 may be involved in the regulation of immunopathology induced by C. sinensis.

RESUMEN

OBJECTIVE: To study the protective effect of Lycium ruthenicum on peripheral blood system against radiation injury in mice. METHODS: Kunming mice were randomly divided into control group, model group, positive group and Lycium ruthenicum high dose (8 g/kg), middle dose (4 g/kg) and low dose (2 g/kg)treatment groups that experimented three days after irradiation. In the same way, groups were set at 7 days and 14 days after irradiation respectively. Lycium ruthenicum extract were administered orally to the mice in the three Lycium ruthenicum treatment groups and normal saline were administered orally to the mice in control group and model group for 14 days. Positive group were treated with radioprotective agent amifostine (WR-2721) at 30 min before irradiation. Except control group, mice in other groups received quantity of 5 Gy X-radiation whole body evenly with one time. Hemogram, organ index, DNA, Caspase-3, Caspase-6 and P53 contents were observed at the 3rd, 7th and 14th day after irradiation. RESULTS: Lycium ruthenicum significantly increased the total red blood cell count, hemoglobin count, the indexes of spleen and thymus and bone marrow DNA contents (P < 0.05), as well as decreased Caspase-3 and Caspase-6 contents in serum and the expression of P53 in intestinal crypt epithelial cells. CONCLUSION: The results showed that Lycium ruthenicum had protective effects on peripheral blood system against radiation injury in mice.

To study the effect of Tibetan medicine Zuotai on the activity, protein and mRNA expression of CYP1A2 and NAT2, three different doses (1.2, 3.8 and 12 mg x kg(-1)) of Zuotai were administrated orally to rats once a day or once daily for twelve days, separately. Rats were administrated orally caffeine (CF) on the second day after Zuotai administration, and the urine concentration of CF metabolite 5-acetylamino-6-formylamino-3-methyl-uracil (AFMU), 1-methyluric acid (1U), 1-methylxanthine (1X), 1, 7-dimethylxanthine (17U) at 5 h after study drug administration was determined by RP-HPLC. The activity of CYP1A2 and NAT2 was evaluated by the ratio of metabolites (AFMU+1X+1U)/17U and the ratio of AFMU/(AFMU+1X+1U), respectively. The protein and mRNA expression of CYP1A2 and NAT2 were determined by ELISA and RT-PCR method, respectively. After single administration of Zuotai 3.8 mg x kg(-1) and repeated administration of Zuotai 3.8 and 12 mg x kg(-1), the activity of CYP1A2 and NAT2 decreased significantly compared with control group and there was no significant difference between other dose group and control group. The protein expression of CYP1A2 was significant lower than that in control group after repeated administration of Zuotai 12 mg x kg(-1), and the mRNA expression of CYP1A2 decreased significantly compared with that of control group after single administration of Zuotai 3.8 mg x kg(-1) and repeated admistration of Zuotai 12 mg x kg(-1), separately. The protein expression of NAT2 decreased significantly compared with that of control group after single and repeated administration of Zuotai 3.8 mg x kg(-1), respectively, and the mRNA expression of CYP1A2 decreased significantly compared with control group after single administration of Zuotai 3.8 mg x kg(-1). This study found that Tibetan medicine Zuotai had significant effect on the activity, protein and mRNA expression of CYP1A2 and NAT2.

RESUMEN

OBJECTIVE: To investigate the numbers, sizes and types distribution of diatoms in drowned and postmortem immersed rabbits' lungs. METHODS: Sixty-two rabbits were randomly divided into drowning group (n = 30), postmortem immersion group (n = 30) and land death group (n=2), and the diatoms in each lung lobe were analyzed quantitatively and qualitatively by microwave digestion and scanning electron microscopy. RESULTS: In the drowning group, the diatoms were detected in each lung lobe with Cyclotella and Melosira in the majority. In the postmortem immersion group, Cyclotella was in the majority. And the diatoms weren't detected in some lung lobes in postmortem immersion. There were significant differences in the detection rates of upper lobe of left lung, middle lobe and cardiac lobe of right lung in two groups (P < 0.05). CONCLUSION: Based on the microwave digestion and scanning electron microscopy, the numbers, sizes and types distribution of diatoms in drowned and postmortem immersed rabbits' lungs can be analyzed and used as references for testing theory.

RESUMEN

BACKGROUND: Bacterial virulence factors are involved in various biological processes and mediate persistent bacterial infections. Focusing on virulence factors of phytopathogenic bacteria is an attractive strategy and crucial direction in pesticide discovery to prevent invasive and persistent bacterial infection. Hence, discovery and development of novel agrochemicals with high activity, low-risk, and potent anti-virulence is urgently needed to control plant bacterial diseases. RESULTS: A series of novel ß-hydroxy pyridinium cation decorated pterostilbene derivatives were prepared and their antibacterial activities against Xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzae (Xoo) were systematacially assessed. Among these pterostilbene derivatives, compound 4S exhibited the best antibacterial activity against Xoo in vitro, with an half maximal effective concentration (EC50) value of 0.28 µg mL-1. A series of biochemical assays including scanning electron microscopy, crystal violet staining, and analysis of biofilm formation, swimming motility, and related virulence factor gene expression levels demonstrated that compound 4S could function as a new anti-virulence factor inhibitor by interfering with the bacterial infection process. Furthermore, the pot experiments provided convinced evidence that compound 4S had the high control efficacy (curative activity: 71.4%, protective activity: 72.6%), and could be used to effectively manage rice bacterial leaf blight in vivo. CONCLUSION: Compounds 4S is an attractive virulence factor inhibitor with potential for application in treating plant bacterial diseases by suppressing production of several virulence factors. © 2024 Society of Chemical Industry.
