RESUMEN

In continuity of prior investigations a study was made of platelet aggregation activity stimulated by arachidonic acid in patients with amyloidosis as compared to patients with chronic glomerulonephritis (CGN). Altogether 31 patients with amyloidosis (primary--2, secondary--15, hereditary in periodical disease--14) and 25 CGN patients (latent disease--10, nephrotic--15) were investigated. Considerable changes in platelet aggregation properties in amyloidosis were shown: the absence of aggregation in most of the patients (22) irrespective of a stage of disease and a tendency to prolongation of a latent period in patients in whom it was observed (9). These data were obtained for the first time. Either normal (in patients with latent type) or raised (in patients with nephrotic type) aggregation to a given stimulus was observed in CGN which was well in accord with the results obtained by other authors.

RESUMEN

Pregnancy in patients with a history of thrombotic complications puts them at a great risk of thrombosis and obstetric complications (hypoxia, intrauterine hypotrophy, bleedings). Functional strain of the hemostasis system occurs at the onset of pregnancy in women with a history of thrombotic complications without clinical symptoms of thrombosis. The incidence of disseminated intravascular coagulation with activation of both pro-coagulation and platelet-mediated hemostasis is 33% and that with activation of only platelet-mediated hemostasis is 64%. Differential use of antithrombotic drugs prevents thrombosis recurrence in 98% of patients.

RESUMEN

Concentrations of some hemostasis system parameters in the total blood stream and in the menstrual fluid were measured in 58 patients of a perimenopausal age suffering from uterine bleedings and myomas. Plasminogen, fibrinogen, and fibrin/fibrinogen degradation product concentrations were increased in the menstrual fluid of patients with profuse uterine bleedings in comparison with patients with moderate menstrual discharge. These shifts were the most marked in the patients with submucous localization of uterine myoma. Gestrinon and danason exerted no pathologic effect on the studied hemostasis system parameters.

RESUMEN

In the presence of low-dosage administrations of heparin the system of hemostasis was studied in 50 pregnant females with placental failure and the chronic DIC syndrome. The efficacy of the treatment conducted was assessed with regard to the revealed levels of coagulation natural inhibitors, the products of fibrinogen-fibrin degradation, the degree of thrombocytic functional recovery and stabilization of the chronometric values of coagulation. The latter parameters considered together with the levels of heparinemia served as the criteria for the safety of the drug dosages employed.
