Because of its high specific capacity and superior rate performance, porous carbon is regarded as a potential anode material for lithium-ion batteries (LIBs). However, porous carbon materials with wide pore diameter distributions suffer from low structural stability and low electrical conductivity during the application process. During this study, the calcium carbonate nanoparticle template method is used to prepare coal tar pitch-derived porous carbon (CTP-X). The coal tar pitch-derived porous carbon has a well-developed macroporous-mesoporous-microporous hierarchical porous network structure, which provides abundant active sites for Li+ storage, significantly reduces polarization and charge transfer resistance, shortens the diffusion path and promotes the rapid transport of Li+. More specifically, the CTP-2 anode shows high charge capacity (496.9 mAh g-1 at 50 mA g-1), excellent rate performance (413.6 mAh g-1 even at 500 mA g-1), and high cycling stability (capacity retention rate of about 100% after 1,000 cycles at 2 A g-1). The clean and eco-friendly large-scale utilization of coal tar pitch will facilitate the development of high-performance anodes in the field of LIBs.

Ferrihydrite is an effective adsorbent of chromate and arsenate. In order to gain insight into the application of ferrihydrite in water treatment, macroporous alginate/ferrihydrite beads, synthesized using two different methods (internal and encapsulation processes), were used in this work. The properties of the ferrihydrite were assessed using various techniques, including X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR), Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET) theory, and zetametry. The results showed that the specific surface area of the ferrihydrite was 242 m2/g, and the PZC was pH8. The kinetic and isotherm adsorption properties of the ferrihydrite were evaluated in this study. The results indicate that the pseudo second-order and Freundlich models accurately describe the kinetic and isotherm adsorption properties of chromates and arsenates. For chromate removal, ferrihydrite exhibited a relatively high adsorption capacity (40.7 mgCr/g) compared to other adsorbents. However, the arsenate adsorption capacity of MFHB-SI (140.8 mgAs/g) was shown to be the most optimal. The internal synthesis process was suitable for arsenate retention due to the resulting arsenate precipitation. The competitive adsorption analyses indicated that the presence of chromate does not limit the adsorption of arsenate. However, the presence of arsenate almost completely inhibits the adsorption of chromate when the arsenate concentration is above 50 mg/L, due to the precipitation reaction of arsenate.

Cnidii Fructus, derived from the dried ripe fruit of Cnidium monnieri (L.) Cuss, has the effect of warming kidneys and invigorating Yang. This study established the spectrum-effect relationships between ultra-high-performance liquid chromatography (UHPLC) fingerprints and the antitumor activities of Cnidii Fructus on human hepatocellular carcinoma (HepG2) cells. In UHPLC fingerprints, 19 common peaks were obtained, and 17 batches of herbs had similarity >0.948. In Cell Counting Kit-8 (CCK-8) test, 17 batches of Cnidii Fructus extract significantly inhibited the proliferation of HepG2 cells to different degrees, showing different half-maximal inhibitory concentration (IC50) values. Furthermore, gray correlation analysis, Pearson's analysis, and orthogonal partial least squares discriminant analysis were performed to screen out eight components. The analysis of mass spectrum data and a comparison with standards revealed that the eight components were methoxsalen, isopimpinellin, osthenol, imperatorin, osthole, ricinoleic acid, linoleic acid, and oleic acid. The verification experiments by testing single compounds indicated that these eight compounds were the major anti-hepatoma compounds in Cnidii Fructus. This work provides a model combining UHPLC fingerprints and antitumor activities to study the spectrum-effect relationships of Cnidii Fructus, which can be used to determine the principal components responsible for the bioactivity.

The purpose of this study was to explore the effects of combined lead (Pb) and two types of microplastic (MP) (polyvinyl chloride [PVC] and polyethylene [PE]) exposure on glucose metabolism and investigate the role of the nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor 2 (Nrf2)/nuclear factor-kappa B (NF-κB) signaling pathway in mediating these effects in mice. Adult C57BL/6J mice were randomly divided into four groups: control, Pb (100 mg/L), MPs (containing 10 mg/L PE and PVC), and Pb + MPs, each of which was treated with drinking water. Treatments were conducted for 6 weeks. Co-exposure to Pb + MPs exhibited increase glycosylated serum protein levels, insulin resistance, and damaged glucose tolerance compared with the control mice. Additionally, treatment with Pb + MPs caused more severe damage to hepatocytes than when exposed to them alone concomitantly, exposed to Pb + MPs exhibited improved the levels of interleukin-6, tumor necrosis factor-alpha, and malondialdehyde, but reduced superoxide dismutase, glutathione peroxidase, and catalase assay in livers. Furthermore, they increase the Kelch-like ECH-associated protein 1 (Keap1) and phosphorylated p-NF-κB protein levels but reduced the protein levels of heme oxygenase-1 and Nrf2, as well as increased Keap1 mRNA and Nrf2 mRNA. Co-exposure to Pb + MP impacts glucose metabolism via the Nrf2 /NF-κB pathway.

Carbon dots (CDs) derived crosslinked covalent organic nanomaterials (CONs) possessing high specific surface area and abundant surface functional groups are considered to be potential candidates for multimodal chromatographic separations. Typically, the synthesis of CDs and CONs requires harsh reaction conditions and toxic organic solvents, hence, the pursuit of facile and mild preparation strategies is the goal of researchers. In this work, 3-aminopropyltriethoxysilane and D-glucose were used as nitrogen and carbon sources, respectively, to prepare amino-CDs (AmCDs) by rapid low-temperature polymerization rather than the common high-temperature and high-pressure reaction. Then, surface functionalization of the aminated silica gel was carried out in a deep eutectic solvent by using hydrophilic AmCDs and 1,3,5-triformylbenzene (TFB) as the functional monomers. Consequently, a novel N-rich CDs derived CON surface-functionalized silica gel (AmCDs-CON@SiO2) was obtained under mild reaction conditions. The combination of AmCDs and TFB created an ideal CON based chromatographic stationary phase. The incorporation of TFB not only contributed to the successful construction of a crosslinked CON, but also enhanced the interaction forces. The developed AmCDs-CON@SiO2 has a great potential for versatile applications in liquid chromatography. This study proposes a simple stationary phase preparation strategy by the surface modification of silica gel with CDs-based CON. Moreover, this study verified the application potential of CDs derived CON in chromatographic separation. This not only promotes the development of CDs in the field of liquid chromatographic stationary phase, but also provides some reference value for the wide application of cross-linked CON.

INTRODUCTION: To date, the role of deficient mismatch repair (dMMR) remains to be proven in gastric cancer, and it is difficult to judge its value in clinical application. Our study aimed to investigate how MMR status affected the prognosis in patients with gastrectomy, as well as the efficacy of neoadjuvant chemotherapy and adjuvant chemotherapy in patients with dMMR with gastric cancer. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Patients with gastric cancer with certain pathologic diagnosis of dMMR or proficient MMR (pMMR) using immunohistochemistry from 4 high-volume hospitals in China were included. Propensity score matching was used to match patients with dMMR or pMMR in 1:2 ratios. Overall survival (OS) and progression-free survival (PFS) curves were plotted using the Kaplan-Meier method and compared statistically using the log-rank test. Univariate and multivariate Cox proportional hazards models based on hazard ratios (HRs) and 95% confidence intervals (CIs) were used to determine the risk factors for survival. RESULTS: In total, data from 6176 patients with gastric cancer were ultimately analyzed, and loss of expression of one or more MMR proteins was observed in 293 patients (293/6176, 4.74%). Compared to patients with pMMR, patients with dMMR are more likely to be older (≥66, 45.70% vs. 27.94%, P < .001), distal location (83.51% vs. 64.19%, P < .001), intestinal type (42.21% vs. 34.46%, P < .001), and in the earlier pTNM stage (pTNM I, 32.79% vs. 29.09%, P = .009). Patients with gastric cancer with dMMR showed better OS than those with pMMR before PSM (P = .002); however, this survival advantage was not observed for patients with dMMR after PSM (P = .467). As for perioperative chemotherapy, results of multivariable Cox regression analysis showed that perioperative chemotherapy was not an independent prognostic factor for PFS and OS in patients with dMMR with gastric cancer (HR = 0.558, 95% CI, 0.270-1.152, P = .186 and HR = 0.912, 95% CI, 0.464-1.793, P = .822, respectively). CONCLUSION: In conclusion, perioperative chemotherapy could not prolong the OS and PFS of patients with dMMR with gastric cancer.

BACKGROUND: Response of locally advanced gastric cancer (LAGC) to neoadjuvant therapy (NAT) may be associated with prognosis, but which of the clinical or pathological evaluation can accurately predict a favorable prognosis is still controversial. This study aims to compare the effect of clinical and pathological response on the prognosis of patients with gastric cancer. METHODS: This study retrospectively analyzed LAGC patients who underwent NAT followed by surgery in the China National Cancer Center from January 2004 to January 2021. Clinical and pathological responses after NAT were evaluated using RECIST 1.1 and Mandard tumor regression grade system (TRG) respectively. Complete response (CR) and partial response (PR) assessed by computed tomography were regarded as clinical response. For histopathology regression assessment, response was defined as Mandard 1, 2, 3 and non-response as Mandard 4, 5. Furthermore, we combined clinical and pathological evaluation results into a variable termed "comprehensive assessment" and divided it into four groups based on the presence or absence of response (concurrent response, only clinical response, only pathological response, both non-response). The association between the prognosis and clinicopathological factors was assessed in univariate and multivariate Cox regression analysis. RESULTS: In total, 238 of 1073 patients were included in the study after screening. The postoperative pathological response rate and clinical response rate were 50.84% (121/238) and 39.92% (95/238), respectively. 154 patients got consistent results in clinical and pathological evaluation (66 were concurrent response and 88 were both non-response), while the other 84 patients did not. The kappa value was 0.297(p < 0.001), which showed poor consistency. Multivariate Cox regression analysis revealed that comprehensive assessment (P = 0.03), clinical N stage(P < 0.001), vascular or lymphatic invasion (VOLI) (HR 2.745, P < 0.001), and pre-CA724(HR 1.577, P = 0.047) were independent factors for overall survival in patients with gastric cancer. Among four groups in the comprehensive assessment, concurrent response had significantly better survival (median OS: 103.5 months) than the other groups (P = 0.008). CONCLUSION: Concurrent clinical and pathological response might predict a favorable prognosis of patients with gastric cancer after neoadjuvant therapy, further validation is needed in prospective clinical trials with larger samples.

INTRODUCTION: The current National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) guidelines recommend that at least 16 lymph nodes should be examined for gastric cancer patients to reduce staging migration. However, there is still debate regarding the optimal management of examined lymph nodes (ELNs) for gastric cancer patients. In this study, we aimed to develop and test the minimum number of ELNs that should be retrieved during gastrectomy for optimal survival in patients with gastric cancer. METHODS: We used the restricted cubic spline (RCS) to identify the optimal threshold of ELNs that should be retrieved during gastrectomy based on the China National Cancer Center Gastric Cancer (NCCGC) database. Northwest cohort, which sourced from the highest gastric cancer incidence areas in China, was used to verify the optimal cutoff value. Survival analysis was performed via Kaplan-Meier estimates and Cox proportional hazards models. RESULTS: In this study, 12,670 gastrectomy patients were included in the NCCGC cohort and 4941 patients in the Northwest cohort. During 1999-2019, the average number of ELNs increased from 17.88 to 34.45 nodes in the NCCGC cohort, while the number of positive lymph nodes remained stable (5-6 nodes). The RCS model showed a U-curved association between ELNs and the risk of all-cause mortality, and the optimal threshold of ELNs was 24 [Hazard ratio (HR) = 1.00]. The ELN ≥ 24 group had a better overall survival (OS) than the ELN < 24 group clearly (P = 0.003), however, with respect to the threshold of 16 ELNs, there was no significantly difference between the two groups (P = 0.101). In the multivariate analysis, ELN ≥ 24 group was associated with improved survival outcomes in total gastrectomy patients [HR = 0.787, 95% confidence interval (CI): 0.711-0.870, P < 0.001], as well as the subgroup analysis of T2 patients (HR = 0.621, 95%CI: 0.399-0.966, P = 0.035), T3 patients (HR = 0.787, 95%CI: 0.659-0.940, P = 0.008) and T4 patients (HR = 0.775, 95%CI: 0.675-0.888, P < 0.001). CONCLUSION: In conclusion, the minimum number of ELNs for optimal survival of gastric cancer with pathological T2-4 was 24.

Osteoarthritis (OA) is the most common type of joint disease, which is difficult to treat, but early standardized diagnosis and treatment can effectively alleviate the pain and symptoms of patients. Therefore, it is important to construct an effective tool to assist in the early diagnosis and evaluation of the therapeutic effect of OA. In this work, a near-infrared (NIR) fluorescence-activated fluorescent probe, YB-1, was constructed for the evaluation of the diagnostic and therapeutic efficacy of OA via detection and imaging of the biomarker of ONOO- in inflammatory cells and mice osteoarthritis models. YB-1 exhibited high selectivity, high sensitivity, and a high ratio yield (I668/I0) fluorescence increasing (∼30 folds). Besides, YB-1 can be used effectively to image endogenous and exogenous ONOO- in living human chondrocytes cells (TC28a2), as well as to evaluate the effect of drug (Chrysosplenol D, CD) treatment in IL-1ß-induced inflammatory cells model. Interestingly, YB-1 was available for OONO- imaging analysis in the collagenase-induced mice OA models and assessment of the effect of CD treatment in mice OA models, with good results. Thus, the newly constructed YB-1 is a powerful molecular tool for the diagnosis and treatment of OA-related diseases.

Cytokine release syndrome (CRS) is an acute systemic inflammatory reaction in which hyperactivated immune cells suddenly release a large amount of cytokines, leading to exaggerated inflammatory responses, multiple organ dysfunction, and even death. Although palliative treatment strategies have significantly reduced the overall mortality, novel targeted treatment regimens with superior therapy efficacy are urgently needed. Vascular endothelial cells (ECs) are important target cells of systemic inflammation, and their destruction is considered to be the initiating event underlying many serious complications of CRS. Mesenchymal stem/stromal cells (MSCs) are multipotent cells with self-renewing differentiation capacity and immunomodulatory properties. MSC transplantation can effectively suppress the activation of immune cells, reduce the bulk release of cytokines, and repair damaged tissues and organs. Here, we review the molecular mechanisms underlying CRS-induced vascular endothelial injury and discuss potential treatments using MSCs. Preclinical studies demonstrate that MSC therapy can effectively repair endothelium damage and thus reduce the incidence and severity of ensuing CRS-induced complications. This review highlights the therapeutic role of MSCs in fighting against CRS-induced EC damage, and summarizes the possible therapeutic formulations of MSCs for improved efficacy in future clinical trials.

Diabetic kidney disease (DKD) is a leading cause of end-stage renal disease without early diagnostic and specific therapeutic approaches. Podocyte apoptosis and loss play important roles in the pathological process of DKD. This study aimed to explore whether urinary exosomes from type 2 diabetes patients with DKD could induce podocyte apoptosis and the underlying pathological mechanisms. The exosomes were isolated from the urine samples of patients with DKD (DKD-Exo). Later, they were taken up and internalized by MPC5 cells. MPC5 cells were co-cultured with DKD-Exo (45 µg/ml) for 24 h in the presence or absence of microRNA-145-5p (miR-145-5p) inhibitor, fasudil and pcDNA-Srgap2 transfection. MiR-145-5p and Srgap2 expression was evaluated using real-time quantitative PCR. The protein levels of Srgap2, Bcl-2, Bax, and cleaved caspase-3, as well as ROCK activity were determined using Western blotting. Cell apoptosis was measured using flow cytometry and the TUNEL assay. miR-145-5p expression in MPC5 cells exposed to DKD-Exo was markedly upregulated. miR-145-5p negatively regulated Srgap2 levels. Exposure of MPC5 cells to DKD-Exo reduced Srgap2 expression and activated ROCK, which was partly reversed by the presence of the miR-145-5p inhibitor or Srgap2 overexpression. The apoptosis of MPC5 cells exposed to DKD-Exo increased significantly, which was counteracted by the addition of the miR-145-5p inhibitor and fasudil. The results showed that urinary exosomal miR-145-5p from patients with DKD induced podocyte apoptosis by inhibiting Srgap2 and activating the RhoA/ROCK pathway, suggesting that urinary exosomal miR-145-5p is involved in the pathological process of DKD and could become a noninvasive diagnostic biomarker for DKD.

The solvothermal synthesis of covalent organic framework (COF) modified silica gel usually requires the use of harmful organic solvents, tedious steps, and harsh reaction conditions. In pursuit of green chemistry, a new strategy for the facile preparation of COF@SiO2 composite material was realized in this work by using a low-toxicity and low-cost deep eutectic solvent as the reaction medium. Additionally, a flexible polyacrylic acid (PAA) was introduced for the purpose of improving the hydrophilic selectivity and separation efficiency of COF@SiO2. Based on the above ideas, a novel PAA/COF@SiO2 composite was successfully developed as a liquid chromatographic packing material. Performance evaluation of the slurry-packed PAA/COF@SiO2 column showed that diverse types of analytes were effectively separated, and the retention behavior of polar nucleosides showed a U-shaped trend, indicating mixed-mode of hydrophobic/hydrophilic retention mechanisms. Thermodynamic studies revealed that the separation mechanism was largely independent of temperature. This work verifies the feasibility of synthesizing polymer/COF@SiO2 composite material in the deep eutectic solvent. This strategy provides a theoretical reference for the green and facile preparation of COF@SiO2 as an efficient liquid chromatographic stationary phase.

The task of semantic segmentation of maize and weed images using fully supervised deep learning models requires a large number of pixel-level mask labels, and the complex morphology of the maize and weeds themselves can further increase the cost of image annotation. To solve this problem, we proposed a Scrawl Label-based Weakly Supervised Semantic Segmentation Network (SL-Net). SL-Net consists of a pseudo label generation module, encoder, and decoder. The pseudo label generation module converts scrawl labels into pseudo labels that replace manual labels that are involved in network training, improving the backbone network for feature extraction based on the DeepLab-V3+ model and using a migration learning strategy to optimize the training process. The results show that the intersection over union of the pseudo labels that are generated by the pseudo label module with the ground truth is 83.32%, and the cosine similarity is 93.55%. In the semantic segmentation testing of SL-Net for image seedling of maize plants and weeds, the mean intersection over union and average precision reached 87.30% and 94.06%, which is higher than the semantic segmentation accuracy of DeepLab-V3+ and PSPNet under weakly and fully supervised learning conditions. We conduct experiments to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.

BACKGROUND: Little is known on the tumor microenvironment (TME) response after neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NACT) in gastric cancer on the molecular level. METHODS: Here, we profiled 33,589 cell transcriptomes in 14 samples from 11 gastric cancer patients (4 pre-treatment samples, 4 post-treatment samples and 3 pre-post pairs) using single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq) to generate the cell atlas. The ligand-receptor-based intercellular communication networks of the single cells were also characterized before and after NACT. RESULTS: Compered to pre-treatment samples, CD4+ T cells (P = 0.018) and CD8+ T cells (P = 0.010) of post-treatment samples were significantly decreased, while endothelial cells and fibroblasts were increased (P = 0.034 and P = 0.005, respectively). No significant difference observed with respect to CD4+ Tregs cells, cycling T cells, B cells, plasma cells, macrophages, monocytes, dendritic cells, and mast cells (P > 0.05). In the unsupervised nonnegative matrix factorization (NMF) analysis, we revealed that there were three transcriptional programs (NMF1, NMF2 and NMF3) shared among these samples. Compared to pre-treatment samples, signature score of NMF1 was significantly downregulated after treatment (P = 0.009), while the NMF2 signature was significantly upregulated after treatment (P = 0.013). The downregulated NMF1 and upregulated NMF2 signatures were both associated with improved overall survival outcomes based on The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) database. Additionally, proangiogenic pathways were activated in tumor and endothelial cells after treatment, indicating that NACT triggers vascular remodeling by cancer cells together with stromal cells. CONCLUSIONS: In conclusion, our study provided transcriptional profiles of TME between pre-treatment and post-treatment for in-depth understanding on the mechanisms of NACT in gastric cancer and empowering the development of potential optimized therapy procedures and novel drugs.

The main reason for the high incidence of cardiovascular disease in chronic kidney disease (CKD) patients with vascular calcification (VC) is also the main cause of death in CKD patients. Lanthanum hydroxide (LH) has an inhibitory effect on VC in chronic renal failure; however, the mechanism of its inhibition is poorly defined. Here, we used network pharmacology analysis and found that hypoxia-inducible factor (HIF) is related to VC. In a CKD rat model induced by adenine combined with high phosphorus (1.2%), LH improved the survival rate and inhibited the occurrence and development of VC. In an in vitro study, we found that lanthanum chloride inhibited the occurrence of VC induced by high phosphorus and reduced the production of reactive oxygen species. This study thus revealed that LH can inhibit the occurrence and development of VC by inhibiting the activation of HIF-1.

PURPOSE: Trauma is common among those seeking Ob-Gyn care and may have pervasive impact on obstetrical and gynecological health, social functioning, and healthcare engagement. While guidelines exist on the detection and treatment of perinatal mood and anxiety disorders within Ob-Gyn care, the role of Ob-gyn clinicians in identifying and addressing patients' traumatic experiences and related symptoms is less clearly delineated. This manuscript provides an overview of trauma-related symptoms in the context of Ob-Gyn care and practical guidance of clinicians aiming to improve their detection and response to trauma in their clinical practice. DESCRIPTION: Posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) describes a psychiatric illness which develops as a response to a traumatic event. Women who have experienced trauma are also at increased risk for borderline personality disorder and other psychiatric comorbidities. Postpartum PTSD has particular relevance to obstetrical care. ASSESSMENT: Screening for trauma in Ob-Gyn care can provide an opportunity to address risk and offer targeted intervention. Several brief evidence-based screening tools are available. Individuals who screen positive require assessment of immediate safety and targeted referrals. Trauma informed care describes an approach to healthcare aimed to enhance physical and emotional safety for patients and clinicians. CONCLUSION: Given the prevalence and the potentially devastating and enduring impact of trauma and trauma-related symptoms, there is a critical need to address trauma within Ob-Gyn care. By recognizing the signs of trauma and initiating or referring to appropriate treatments, Ob-Gyn clinicians have a unique opportunity to better understand their patients and to improve their care.

Purpose: Depression is a common mental illness worldwide and has become an important public health problem. The current clinical diagnosis of depression mainly relies on the doctor's experience and subjective diagnosis, which results in the low diagnostic efficiency and insufficient objectivity of diagnostic results. Therefore, establishing a physiological and psychological model for computer-aided diagnosis is an urgent task. In order to solve the above problems, this article uses a convolutional neural network (CNN) to identify depression based on electrocardiogram (ECG). Methods: Our method uses the raw ECG signal as the input of one-dimensional CNN, and uses the automatic feature processing layer of CNN to learn and distinguish signal features without additional feature extraction and feature selection steps. In order to obtain the optimal model, ECG segments of different durations (3 s, 4 s, 5 s and 6 s) and CNNs with different layers were used for comparison. In order to obtain modeling data, the resting ECG of 37 depression patients and 37 healthy controls were collected. In the proposed network, larger convolution kernels are used to better focus on overall changes. In addition, this article focuses on the inter-patient data classification standard, where the training and test sets come from different patient data. Results: Through comprehensive comparison, the 5 s ECG segment and 5-layer CNN are recommended in related applications. The proposed approach achieves high classification performance with accuracy of 93.96%, sensitivity of 89.43%, specificity of 98.49%, positive productivity of 98.34%. Conclusion: The experimental results indicate that the end-to-end deep learning approach can identify depression from ECG signals, and possess high diagnostic performance. It also shows that ECG is a potential biomarker in the diagnosis of depression.

The argument concerning the exact minimum number of examined lymph nodes (ELNs) has continued for a long time among various regions, and no consensus has been reached for stratified pathological T stages for data to date. Data from 4607 pN0 patients with gastric cancer were analyzed. Kaplan-Meier analysis showed the similar overall survival (OS) outcomes among the 3 groups (ELNs ≤ 15, 16 ≤ ELNs ≤ 29 and ELNs ≥ 30, P = .171). However, the ELNs ≥ 30 group had a better disease-free survival (DFS) outcome compared with the others (all P < .05). An increased ELN group (ELNs ≥ 30) showed an improved OS only for pT3 patients (hazard ratio [HR] = 0.397, 95% confidence interval (CI): 0.182-0.866, P = .020), while an improved DFS for pT3 patients (HR = 0.362, 95%CI: 0.152-0.860, P = .021) and pT4 patients (HR = 0.484, 95%CI: 0.277-0.844, P = .011) in the multivariate analysis. A well discriminated and calibrated nomogram was constructed to predict the probability of the OS and DFS, with the C-index for OS and DFS prediction of 0.782 (95%CI: 0.735 to 0.829) and 0.738 (95%CI: 0.685 to 0.791), respectively. This study provides new and useful insights into the impact of ELN count on reducing stage migration and postoperative recurrence of pN0 patients with gastric cancer in 2000-2017. In conclusion, a larger number of ELNs is suggested for surgeons to prolong the prognosis of pN0 gastric cancer, especially for pT3 patients.

Tenofovir disoproxil fumurate (TDF) therapy during late pregnancy in highly viremic mothers can reduce residual overt hepatitis B virus (HBV) infections of their infants that occur despite immunoprophylaxis.1,2 Occult HBV infection (OBI) has been defined as the presence of HBV DNA in liver or sera in subjects seronegative for hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg).3 OBI has been found in varying proportions of immunized infants born to HBsAg-positive mothers.4-6 We aimed to investigate the impact of maternal TDF therapy during pregnancy on vertically acquired OBI.
