RESUMO

Mitochondria and their related genes (MTRGs) are pivotal in the tumour microenvironment (TME) of cervical cancer, influencing prognosis and treatment response. This study developed a prognostic model using MTRGs to predict overall survival (OS) in cervical squamous cell carcinoma and endocervical adenocarcinoma (CESC), aiming for personalized therapy. Analysing 14 MTRGs like ISCU and NDUFA11 through techniques such as univariate Cox regression, we found that a low mitochondrial (MT) score is associated with better survival, while a high MT score predicts poorer outcomes. The TME score, particularly influenced by CD8 T cells, also correlates with prognosis, with a high score indicating favourable outcomes. The interplay between MT and TME subtypes revealed that the best prognosis is seen in patients with a low MT and high TME score. Our findings highlight the role of MTRGs as potential biomarkers and therapeutic targets in cervical cancer, offering a novel approach to improving patient outcomes through a more nuanced understanding of mitochondrial function and immune interactions within the TME. This model presents a promising avenue for enhancing the precision of prognostic assessments in CESC.

RESUMO

Recently, atomically precise metal nanoclusters (NCs) become a new class of photosensitizer for light energy conversion in metal-cluster-sensitized semiconductor (MCSS) system. However, fundamental understanding for the suitable combination of NCs and semiconductor is still unclear. Aside from aspects of light harvesting, energy level alignment and catalytic activity, interfacial interaction behavior at NCs/semiconductor interface is also crucial due to its important influence in charge transportation. In this work, the interface interaction between Au NCs and TiO2 is examined by precise transformation of Au NCs from Au22(SG)18 to Au18(SG)14, as well as its effect on photocatalytic hydrogen production activity. From the optical, charge transport and solid-states spectroscopy analyses, it is able to display that precisely tuning the number of core atoms from Au22(SG)18 to Au18(SG)14 results in the strong interface interaction between Au NCs and TiO2, reflecting in high difference of work function and modified surface band bending of TiO2, therefore promoting the injection of electrons from NCs to TiO2 and reducing interfacial charges recombination. As a result, Au18(SG)14/TiO2 shows higher hydrogen generation rate than Au22(SG)18/TiO2 under light irradiation. This work would provide new insights into rational combination of metal NCs with semiconductor and highlights the overlooked effect of interfacial interaction behavior on light energy conversion.

RESUMO

Broccoli was selected as the research object in this paper to reveal the dissipation, distribution, and degradation pathway of sulfoxaflor under greenhouse and open-field cultivation conditions for the ecological risk assessment of sulfoxaflor. Results showed that the dissipation of sulfoxaflor in broccoli leaves, flowers, stems, roots, and the whole broccoli was in accordance with the first-order kinetic equation. The sulfoxaflor concentration in broccoli roots reached the maximum value after 1 day of application and then gradually decreased. The degradation half-lives of sulfoxaflor in the roots, leaves, flowers, stems, and whole broccoli were between 2.3 and 19.8 days. The longest degradation half-life of sulfoxaflor was in Heilongjiang under greenhouse cultivation. The terminal residue of sulfoxaflor in broccoli was in the range of 0.005-0.029 mg/kg, and the proportion of sulfoxaflor residue in broccoli leaves was the largest. Thirteen transformation products were separated and identified by ultrahigh-performance liquid chromatography-quadrupole time-of-flight mass spectrometry, and their kinetic evolution was studied. The cleavage of the N = S bond, C-S bond, C-O bond, and cyanide, as well as glucosylation, hydroxylation, SO extrusion, elimination, sulfhydrylation, ketonization, defluorination, and rearrangement, was inferred as the mechanism. Overall, these results can provide guidance for the supervision of the safe application of sulfoxaflor.

RESUMO

In this work, we investigate the relationship between the charge distribution and electron occupation by exploring neutral gold superatoms Aun and their anion structures [Aun]- (n = 13, 55, and 147). It is shown that there exists "skin behavior" of charge distribution for gold superatoms. For the neutral Aun, there are negative charges of -0.1 e, -0.54 e, and -1.16 e distributed in the surface area of 1D5 SAMOs of Au13, 1F12 1G15 SAMOs of Au55, and 2D6 1H22 2F14 1I6 3S2 1J6 1I8 1J4 3P1 SAMOs of Au147, respectively. For the anion [Aun]-, more negative charges of -1.08 e, -1.55 e, and -2.14 e are distributed in the surface area of 1D SAMO of [Au13]-, 1G SAMO of [Au55]-, and 3P SAMO of [Au147]-. In addition, adding an electron will cause the SAMOs rearrangement and enhance the geometric symmetry of superatoms, especially in [Au13]- and [Au55]-. Our findings provide a new perspective on microelectronic structure in understanding the skin effects.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: To discuss the impacts of moxibustion for regulating spleen and stomach function on the survival quality of the patients of end stage renal disease (ESRD) with maintenance hemodialysis (MHD). METHODS: One hundred and nine cases of uremia with MHD from 3 hemodialysis centers were randomized into an observation group (58 cases) and a control group (51 cases). The regular hemodialysis and conventional medication were used in the two groups. In the observation group, on the basis of the common treatment, moxibustion was applied to Zusanli (ST 36) and Sanyinjiao (SP 6), 2-3 times a day, the treatment of 4 weeks made one session. Totally, 3 sessions were required and the follow-up lasted for 3 months. KDQOL-SF (kidney disease quality of life short form,KDQOL-SFTM 1. 3) was adopted for the questionnaire investigation on survival quality before treatment, after treatment and at the end of follow-up separately in the two groups. RESULTS: After treatment, the survival quality scores in terms of physical functioning (83.62+/-13.27 vs 79.32+/- 22. 17), general health (58. 88+/- 20.24 vs 48.82+/-20.89) and vitality (77.07+/-15.56 vs 70. 59+/-22.61) in the observation group were higher than those in the control group (all P<0. 05). In comparison before and after treatment in the same group, the survival quality scores in terms of physical functioning, general health, vitality and symptoms/problems were all improved in the observation group (all P<0. 05). At the end of follow-up, the survival quality scores in terms of physical functioning, general health, mental health, social functioning, vitality, effects of kidney disease and cognitive function were higher in the observation group as compared with those in the control group (all P<0. 05). In comparison of the results at the end of follow-up with those before treatment, the survival quality scores in terms of vitality, symptoms/problems and cognitive function in the observation group were improved (all P< 0. 05). The differences were not significant in all of the 19 fields of survival quality evaluation before and after treatment, and after follow-up in the control group (all P>0. 05). CONCLUSION: Moxibustion for regulating spleen and stomach function improves the survival quality of the patients with hemodialysis in terms of physical functioning, general health and vitality, which benefits the psychological condition of the patients, resulting in the improvements of the survival quality in the fields of mental health, social functioning, effects of kidney disease and cognitive function.
