RESUMO

Actin filaments and their associated actin-binding proteins play key roles in plant innate immune signaling. CAP1, or cyclase-associated protein 1, is an important regulatory factor of the actin cytoskeleton-associated signaling network and was hypothesized here to be involved in resistance against wheat stripe rust because TaCAP1 expression was upregulated in response to Puccinia striiformis f. sp. tritici (Pst). Downregulation of TaCAP1 expression led to decreased resistance against Pst, in contrast to increased resistance upon TaCAP1 overexpressing, as demonstrated by the changes of phenotypes and hyphal growth. We found increased expression of pathogenesis-responsive or relative related genes and disease grade changed in TaCAP1 overexpressing plants. Our results also showed TaCAP1-regulated host resistance to Pst by inducing the production and accumulation of reactive oxygen species and mediating the salicylic acid signaling pathway. Additionally, TaCAP1 interacted with chlorophyll a/b-binding proteins TaLHCB1.3 and TaLHCB1.4, also known as the light-harvesting chlorophyll-protein complex II subunit B, which belong to the light-harvesting complex II protein family. Silencing of two TaLHCB1 genes showed higher susceptibility to Pst, which reduced wheat resistance against Pst. Therefore, the data presented herein further illuminate our understanding that TaCAP1 interacts with TaLHCB1s and functions as a positive regulator of wheat resistance against stripe rust.

RESUMO

In recent years, there have been a number of studies where hesperidin was administered to modify arterial blood pressure, but the conclusions of each study are contradictory. In order to investigate the effect of hesperidin on blood pressure, we searched the CNKI, Wanfang Database, the VIP database, Sinomed database, Pubmed, Embase and The Cochrane Library databases, and searched the literature on hesperidin and blood pressure published in Chinese and English journals, mainly focusing on patients' systolic blood pressure and diastolic blood pressure. The search time frame was from the inception of the databases until December 2023. The Grading of Recommendations Assessment, Development, and Evaluation (GRADE) approach was used to assess the overall quality and used Cohen's kappa coefficient (κ) to measure agreement. We did preliminary screening of the retrieved literature through Notexpress, 14 articles with a total of 656 patients were included. Cochrance data conversion tool was used for data conversion, and RevMan 5.3 was used for meta-analysis, and finally Stata was used to make the Egger's test for the included study. The results of total population blood pressure showed that hesperidin had no antihypertensive effect on the population, but the conclusions changed when the population was divided into groups. The results of different populations showed that hesperidin had no effect on systolic blood pressure (weighted mean difference [WMD] = -0.50, 95% CI: -3.25 ~ 2.26, Z = 0.35, p = 0.72) and diastolic blood pressure (WMD = -0.51, 95% CI: -2.53 ~ 1.51, Z = 0.50, p = 0.62) in healthy individuals. However, hesperidin reduced systolic blood pressure in patients with type 2 diabetes (WMD = -4.32, 95% CI: - 7.77 ~ - 0.87, Z = 2.45, p = 0.01), and had a tendency to reduce diastolic blood pressure in diabetic patients (WMD = -3.72, 95% CI: -7.63 ~ 0.18, Z = 1.87, p = 0.06). The results in patients with type 2 diabetes needed to be further supported by future research focusing on individuals with diabetes.

RESUMO

Wheat stripe rust, caused by Puccinia striiformis f. sp. tritici (Pst), is one of the most destructive diseases worldwide. In China, wheat stripe rust generally occurs in the northwestern and southwestern regions; however, the genetic relationships of Pst populations between these regions are largely unclear. To determine the population structure and potential migration route in these regions, 235 isolates collected from Xinjiang (XJ), Gansu (GS), Ningxia (NX), Shaanxi (SX), Sichuan (SC), and Yunnan (YN) provinces in 2021 and 2022 were phenotyped using two sets of Pst differentials and genotyped using 20 competitive allele-specific PCR-single nucleotide polymorphism (KASP-SNP) markers. The phenotype tests indicated that CYR34, CYR32, and CYR33 were the predominant races with different occurrence frequencies in different regions and years. Genotypic analysis revealed that a total of 183 multilocus genotypes were identified, and the genetic diversity in the YN subpopulation was the highest. The genetic background in the SX subpopulation was similar to that in the GS and NX subpopulations, and the genetic background in the YN subpopulation was similar to that in the SC and SX subpopulations. A high level of gene flow (Nm) was found between the SX and GS, SX and NX, GS and NX, and SC and YN subpopulations, suggesting the migration of Pst among these regions, while a small amount of Nm existed between the SX and SC subpopulations. SC may serve as a bridge connecting Pst subpopulations between the northwestern provinces (SX, GS, and NX) and the southwestern provinces (SC and YN). With a relatively high genetic distance and low Nm values compared with other Pst subpopulations, XJ is considered a relatively independent epidemiological region in China. These results improved our current understanding of the wheat stripe rust epidemic in northwestern and southwestern regions of China.

RESUMO

Fusarium pseudograminearum is an important plant pathogen that invades many crops (Zhang et al. 2018). Since it was first discovered in Australia in 1951, F. pseudograminearum has been reported in many countries and regions and caused huge economic losses (Burgess et al. 2001). In 2012, crown rot of wheat caused by F. pseudograminearum was discovered for the first time in Henan Province, China (Li et al. 2012). Wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) is one of the most important food crops in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region (XUAR), with 1.07 million hectares cultivated in 2020. In June 2023, a survey of crown rot disease was carried out in winter wheat cv. Xindong 20 in Hotan area, XUAR, China (80.148907°E, 37.051474°N). About 5% of wheat plants showed symptoms of crown rot such as browning of the stem base and white head. The disease was observed in 85% of wheat fields. In order to identify the pathogens, 36 pieces of diseased stem basal tissue, 0.5 cm in length, were collected and sterilized with 75% alcohol for 30s and 5% NaOCl solution for 2 min, then rinsed three times with sterile water and placed on potato dextrose agar (PDA) medium at 25°C. A total of 27 isolates with consistent morphological characteristics were obtained using single-spore technique (Leslie and Summerell. 2006), and the isolation rate was 75%. The isolates grew rapidly on PDA, produced large numbers of fluffy white hyphae, and pink pigment accumulated in the medium. The isolates were grown on 2% mung bean flour medium and identified by morphological and molecular methods. Macroconidia were abundant, relatively slender, curved to almost straight, commonly two to seven septate, and averaged 22 to 72 × 1.8 to 4.9 µm. Microconidia were not observed. The morphological characters are consistent with Fusarium (Aoki and O'Donnell. 1999). Two isolates (LP-1 and LP-3) were selected for molecular identification. Primers EF1/EF2 (5'-ATGGGTAAGGARGACAAGAC-3'/5'-GGARGTACCAGTSATCATG-3') were used to amplify a portion of the EF-1α gene (O'Donnell et al. 1998). The two 696 bp PCR products were sequenced and submitted to GenBank. The EF-1α gene sequences (GenBank Accession No: PP062794 and PP062795) shared 99.9% identity (695/696) with published F.pseudograminearum sequences (e.g., OP105187, OP105184, OP105179, OP105173). The identification was further confirmed by F. pseudograminearum species-specific PCR primers Fp1-1/Fp1-2 (Aoki and O'Donnell. 1999). The expected PCR products of 518 bp were produced only in F. pseudograminearum. Pathogenicity tests of LP-1 and LP-3 isolates were performed on 7-day-old seedlings of winter wheat cv. Xindong 20 using the drip inoculation method with a 10-µl of a 106 macroconidia ml-1 suspension near the stem base (Xu et al. 2017). The experiment was repeated five times in a 20 to 25°C greenhouse. Control seedlings were treated with sterile water. After 4 weeks, wheat seedling death and crown browning occurred in the inoculated plants with over 90% incidence. No symptoms were observed in the control plants. The pathogen was reisolated from the inoculated plants by the method described above and identified by morphological and PCR amplification using F. pseudograminearum species-specific primers Fp1-1/Fp1-2. No F. pseudograminearum was isolated from the control plants, fulfilling Koch's postulates. To our knowledge, this is the first report of F. pseudograminearum causing crown rot of winter wheat in XUAR of China. Since F. pseudograminearum can cause great damage to wheat, one of the most important food crops in China, necessary measures should be taken to prevent the spread of F. pseudograminearum to other regions.

RESUMO

Wheat stripe rust is a destructive disease worldwide, caused by Puccinia striiformis f. sp. tritici (Pst). Resistance breeding is the most effective method of controlling stripe rust. Xinjiang is a relatively independent epidemic region of wheat stripe rust in China. In recent years, wheat stripe rust in this area has shown an upward trend. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to evaluate the resistance level of wheat cultivars (lines) to the prevalent Pst races and determine the genetic background of stripe rust resistance genes in Xinjiang. Six predominant Pst races in China were used to study resistance of 286 wheat cultivars (lines) at both seedling under controlled conditions and adult-plant stages under field conditions. In the seedling tests, 175 (61.19%) entries were resistant to races CYR23, 125 (43.71%) to CYR29, 153 (53.50%) to CYR31, 88 (30.77%) to CYR32, 174 (60.84%) to CYR33, and 98 (34.27%) to CYR34. Among the resistant entries, 23 (8.04%) were resistant to all six races. In the field test, 135 (47.20%) entries were resistant to the tested mixed races. Through comparing the responses in the seedling and adult-plant stages, 109 (38.11%) entries were found to have adult-plant resistance (APR), and 14 (4.90%) entries have all-stage resistance (ASR). The 286 wheat entries were also tested using a wheat breeder chip containing 12 Yr resistance loci. Among these entries, 44 (15.38%) were found to have single gene, 221 (77.27%) have two or more genes, and 21 (7.34%) have none of the 12 genes, including 144 (50.35%) with Yr30 and 5 (1.75%) with YrSP. Entries with two or more genes have stronger resistance to Pst. Overall, the majority of entries have all-stage and/or adult-plant resistance, but their genes for resistance in addition to the 12 tested Yr genes need to be determined. It is also necessary to introduce more effective resistance genes in the breeding programs to improve stripe rust resistance in wheat cultivars in Xinjiang.

RESUMO

Recovering rare earth elements (REEs) from waste streams represents a sustainable approach to diversify REE supply while alleviating the environmental burden. However, it remains a critical challenge to selectively separate and concentrate REEs from low-grade waste streams. In this study, we developed a new type of biosorbent by immobilizing Lanmodulin-SpyCatcher (LanM-Spycatcher) on the surface of SpyTag-functionalized magnetic nanoparticles (MNPs) for selective separation and recovery of REEs from waste streams. The biosorbent, referred to as MNP-LanM, had an adsorption activity of 6.01 ± 0.11 µmol-terbium/g-sorbent and fast adsorption kinetics. The adsorbed REEs could be desorbed with >90% efficiency. The MNP-LanM selectively adsorbed REEs in the presence of a broad range of non-REEs. The protein storage stability of the MNP-LanM increased by two-fold compared to free LanM-SpyCatcher. The MNP-LanM could be efficiently separated using a magnet and reused with high stability as it retained ∼95% of the initial activity after eight adsorption-desorption cycles. Furthermore, the MNP-LanM selectively adsorbed and concentrated REEs from the leachate of coal fly ash and geothermal brine, resulting in 967-fold increase of REE purity. This study provides a scientific basis for developing innovative biosorptive materials for selective and efficient separation and recovery of REEs from low-grade feedstocks.

RESUMO

In this work, a series of polytriazole-based unimolecular nanocontainers (UNs) with good water solubility, uniformity, and colloidal stability via a bottom-up chain-growth copper-catalyzed azide-alkyne cycloaddition (co)polymerization that features tunable size, degree of branching (DB), and functionality of the UNs is developed. A broad selection of hydrophobic payload molecules, including Nile red (NR), camptothecin, pyrene, 1-pyrenemethanol, and IR676, are successfully encapsulated to demonstrate the high versatility of these polymers as UNs. Using NR as a probe guest, the relationship between the encapsulation performance and the structural properties of UNs, including size and DB, is investigated. Furthermore, the localization and dispersity of encapsulated NR are explored and the dependence of payload's dispersity on the DB of UNs is revealed. The payload encapsulated in UNs exhibits tunable release kinetics, determined by either adjusting release conditions or including pH-responsive structural units in the UNs. Meanwhile, the dyes encapsulated in UNs exhibit improved photostability and stronger resistance to photobleaching. It is expected that these explorations address the size and stability issues widely encounter in current drug/dye nanocarriers and provide a versatile platform of polytriazole-based UNs for suitable payloads in various applications, including drug delivery and bio-imaging.

RESUMO

In-situ polymer capping of cesium lead bromide (CsPbBr3) nanocrystals with polymethyl acrylate is an effective approach to improve the colloidal stability in the polar medium and thus extends their use in photocatalysis. The photoinduced electron transfer properties of polymethyl acrylate (PMA)-capped CsPbBr3 nanocrystals have been probed using surface-bound viologen molecules with different alkyl chains as electron acceptors. The apparent association constant (Kapp) obtained for the binding of viologen molecules with PMA-capped CsPbBr3 was 2.3 × 107 M-1, which is an order of magnitude greater than that obtained with oleic acid/oleylamine-capped CsPbBr3. Although the length of the alkyl chain of the viologen molecule did not show any impact on the electron transfer rate constant, it influenced the charge separation efficiency and net electron transfer quantum yield. Viologen moieties with a shorter alkyl chain length exhibited a charge separation efficiency of 72% compared with 50% for the longer chain alkyl chain length viologens. Implications of polymer-capped CsPbBr3 perovskite nanocrystals for carrying out photocatalytic reduction in the polar medium are discussed.

RESUMO

Wild oat (Avena fatua L.) is a common and problematic weed in wheat fields in China. In recent years, farmers found it increasingly difficult to control A. fatua using acetyl-CoA carboxylase (ACCase)-inhibiting herbicides. The purpose of this study was to identify the molecular basis of clodinafop-propargyl resistance in A. fatua. In comparison to the S1496 population, whole dose response studies revealed that the R1623 and R1625 populations were 71.71- and 67.76-fold resistant to clodinafop-propargyl, respectively. The two resistant A. fatua populations displayed high resistance to fenoxaprop-p-ethyl (APP) and low resistance to clethodim (CHD) and pinoxaden (PPZ), but they were still sensitive to the ALS inhibitors mesosulfuron-methyl and pyroxsulam. An Ile-2041-Asn mutation was identified in both resistant individual plants. The copy number and relative expression of the ACCase gene in the resistant population were not significantly different from those in the S1496 population. Under the application of 2160 g ai ha -1 of clodinafop-propargyl, the fresh weight of the R1623 population was reduced to 74.9%; however, pretreatment with the application of the cytochrome P450 inhibitor malathion and the GST inhibitor NBD-Cl reduced the fresh weight to 50.91% and 47.16%, respectively, which proved the presence of metabolic resistance. This is the first report of an Ile-2041-Asn mutation and probable metabolic resistance in A. fatua, resulting in resistance to clodinafop-propargyl.

RESUMO

Colloidal lead halide perovskite nanocrystals (PNCs) have demonstrated great potential as materials of light-emitting diodes if their colloidal and compositional instability could be addressed. Herein, we reported a facile surface-initiated photopolymerization method that introduced polymers on a CsPbBr3 PNC surface to achieve improved stability and regulated halide exchange of PNCs in polar solvents. Synthetic polymers grafted from the surface of an individual PNC surface stabilized the PNCs, in which the multidentate linkage initiators and the extending polymers were two essential factors. The polymer-grafted PNCs showed composition-dependent colloidal dispersity and structural stability in various polar organic solvents and aqueous condition. It was found that changing the polarity of dispersing solvents effectively switched the swelling and collapsed states of surface polymers on the PNC-polymer nanoparticles, which provided an on-off mechanism to regulate the permeation of halide anions into the PNC cores. Thus, halide exchange of polymer-grafted PNCs in a good solvent for polymers varied the composition of PNCs and their emissive color, while switching the nanoparticles into a poor solvent, for example, ethanol and water, collapsed the surface polymer, prohibited the halide exchange, and consequently retained the color stability. It was demonstrated that different CsPbX3 PNCs with collapsed surface polymers could coexist into one solvent medium, achieving simultaneous emission with a white display. We believe this work provided insights into the rational functionalization of PNC materials using well-defined synthetic polymers toward tunable emission and outstanding stability in polar media.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: The shortage of healthcare workers is becoming a serious global problem. The underlying reasons may be specific to the healthcare system in each country. Over the past decade, medicine has become an increasingly unpopular profession in China due to the heavy workload, long-term training, and inherent risks. The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has placed the life-saving roles of healthcare professionals under the spotlight. This public health crisis may have a profound impact on career choices in Chinese population. METHODS: We conducted a questionnaire-based online survey among 21,085 senior high school students and 21,009 parents from 24 provinces (or municipalities) of China. We investigated the change of interest in medical study due to the outbreak of COVID-19 and the potential motivational factors based on the expectancy-value theory framework. Pearson correlation analysis was used to assess the correlation of static or dynamic interest in medical career pursuit with the reported number of COVID-19 cases. Logistic regression model was adopted to analyze the main factors associated with students' choices. RESULTS: We observed an increased preference for medical study post the outbreak of COVID-19 in both students (17.5 to 29.6%) and parents (37.1 to 47.3%). Attainment value was found to be the main reason for the choice among students, with the contribution to society rated as the top motivation. On the other hand, the predominant demotivation in high school students was lack of interest, followed by concerns regarding violence against doctors, heavy workload, long-term training and heavy responsibility as a doctor. Additionally, students who were female, in the resit of final year, had highly educated parents and outside of Hubei province were significantly associated with a keen interest in pursuing medical study. CONCLUSIONS: This is the first multi-center cross-sectional study exploring the positive change and motivations of students' preferences in medical study due to the outbreak of COVID-19. Our results may help medical educators, researchers and policymakers to restructure medical education to make it more appealing to high school students, particularly, to develop a more supportive social and working environment for medical professionals to maintain the observed enhanced enthusiasm.

RESUMO

Thioredoxins (Trxs) function within the antioxidant network through modulation of one or more redox reactions involved in oxidative-stress signaling. Given their function in regulating cellular redox, Trx proteins also fulfill key roles in plant immune signaling. Here, TaTrxh1, encoding a subgroup h member of the Trx family, was identified and cloned in wheat (Triticum aestivum), which was rapidly induced by Puccinia striiformis f. sp. tritici invasion and salicylic acid (SA) treatment. Overexpression of TaTrxh1 in tobacco (Nicotiana benthamiana) induced programmed cell death. Silencing of TaTrxh1 in wheat enhanced susceptibility to P. striiformis f. sp. tritici in different aspects, including reactive oxygen species accumulation and pathogen-responsive or -related gene expression. Herein, we observed that the cellular concentration of SA was significantly reduced in TaTrxh1-silenced plants, indicating that TaTrxh1 possibly regulates wheat resistance to stripe rust through a SA-associated defense signaling pathway. Using a yeast two-hybrid screen to identify TaTrxh1-interacting partners, we further show that interaction with TaCP1 (a RD19-like cysteine protease) and subsequent silencing of TaCP1 reduced wheat resistance to P. striiformis f. sp. tritici. In total, the data presented herein demonstrate that TaTrxh1 enhances wheat resistance against P. striiformis f. sp. tritici via SA-dependent resistance signaling and that TaTrxh1 interaction with TaCP1 is required for wheat resistance to stripe rust.[Formula: see text] Copyright © 2021 The Author(s). RESUMO

This paper presents a boundary element-based scheme for the sensitivity analysis of acoustic eigenfrequencies of both interior and exterior acoustic systems. The nonlinear eigenvalue problem generated by the acoustic boundary element method is first reformulated into a generalized eigenvalue problem of reduced dimension through a contour integral approach. The sensitivity formulations for acoustic eigenfrequencies are then derived based on an adjoint method that uses both the right and left eigenvectors. The adaptive cross approximation in conjunction with the hierarchical matrices is used to reduce the solution burden of the boundary element systems. The Burton-Miller-type combined formulation is applied to shift the spurious eigenfrequencies and their sensitivities, and the strategies to identify the spurious results are suggested. Three numerical examples are used to verify the accuracy and applicability of the developed scheme.

RESUMO

Heterodera schachtii is a well-known cyst nematode that causes serious economic losses in sugar beet production every year. Rapid and visual detection of H. schachtii is essential for more effective prevention and control. In this study, a species-specific recombinase polymerase amplification (RPA) primer was designed from a specific H. schachtii sequence-characterized amplified region (SCAR) marker. A band was obtained in reactions with DNA from H. schachtii, but absent from nontarget cyst nematodes. The RPA results could be observed by the naked eye, using a lateral flow dipstick (LFD). Moreover, we combined CRISPR technology with RPA to identify positive samples by fluorescence detection. Sensitivity analysis indicated that 10-4 single cysts and single females, 4-3 single second-stage juveniles, and a 0.001 ng genomic DNA template could be detected. The sensitivity of the RPA method for H. schachtii detection is not only higher than that of PCR and qPCR, but can also provide results in <1 h. Consequently, the RPA assay is a practical and useful diagnostic tool for early diagnosis of plant tissues infested by H. schachtii. Sugar beet nematodes were successfully detected in seven of 15 field sugar beet root samples using the RPA assay. These results were consistent with those achieved by conventional PCR, indicating 100% accuracy of the RPA assay in field samples. The RPA assay developed in the present study has the potential for use in the direct detection of H. schachtii infestation in the field.

RESUMO

Hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection has been reported to be associated with non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL). However, the evidence is limited to the seroepidemiological study. There is a lack of evidence showing the HBV infection and integration in NHL cells. Here, we reported that in the Shanghai area, the positive rates of serum HBsAg (OR: 3.11; 95% CI: 2.20-4.41) and HBeAg (OR: 3.99; 95% CI: 1.73-9.91) were significantly higher in patients with NHL. HBsAg, HBcAg and HBV DNA were detected in 34.4%, 45.2% and 47.0% of the NHL tissues, respectively. Furthermore, by using a high-throughput viral integration detection approach (HIVID), integrated HBV DNA was identified from 50% (6/12) HBV-related NHL tissues. There were a total of 313 HBV integration sites isolated from the NHL tissues, among which four protein-coding genes (FAT2, SETX, ITGA10 and CD63) were interrupted by HBV DNA in their exons. Seven HBV preferential target genes (ANKS1B, HDAC4, EGFLAM, MAN1C1, XKR6, ZBTB38 and CCDC91) showed significantly altered expression levels in NHL, suggesting a potential role of these genes in NHL development. Taken together, HBV integration is a common phenomenon in NHL. This finding opens up a new direction of research into the mechanistic link between HBV infection and NHL.

RESUMO

This study evaluated the supramolecular properties of a new family of water-soluble hyperbranched polytriazoles that have a unimolecular micelle structure. Two new, structurally related hyperbranched polymers (HBPa and HBPn), with the same size (Dh = 11 nm) and core-shell architecture, were prepared and found to act as nanoscale hosts for a broad spectrum of molecular guests. The globular-shaped hyperbranched polymers were synthesized by a straightforward one-pot polymerization method that permits easy synthetic control of the multiple functional groups within the core. Surrounding the core is a shell of polyethylene glycol chains that promotes solubility in pH 7.4 buffer solution and inhibits self-aggregation of the nanoparticles. The core of HBPa, containing a mixture of anionic carboxylate groups and 1,2,3-triazole rings, could be loaded with cationic hydrophilic (i.e., propidium iodide) or partially hydrophobic (i.e., Hoechst 33342) dyes or drugs, including a binary dye/drug pair (i.e., indocyanine green/mitoxantrone). The core of HBPn, containing a mixture of uncharged 2-pentanone chains and 1,2,3-triazole rings, could be loaded with uncharged and very hydrophobic dyes (i.e., Nile Red) or drugs. Improved aqueous solubility of camptothecin was achieved 10-fold from 8.4 to 75 ng/mL. Additionally, cell toxicity studies showed that HBPn was able to release the camptothecin drug inside A549 cancer cells resulting in increased cell death. Taken together, the results suggest that this new family of water-soluble hyperbranched polytriazoles could be broadly useful as nanocarriers for various applications in therapy, imaging, or a combination of the two (theranostics).

RESUMO

Aim: Cancer-associated fibroblasts (CAFs) are closely related to epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) and chemoresistance in various cancers. Patients & methods: Experiments in vivo and retrospective studies were applied to explore the role of CAFs in epithelial ovarian cancer (EOC). Results: We found that CXCL12 expression was significantly increased in interstitial CAFs by immunofluorescence. CAF-derived CXCL12 induced EMT though CXCR4/Wnt/ß-catenin pathway in EOC cells. Inhibited EMT led to increased apoptosis and cisplatin sensitivity. Multivariate regression analysis shows that CXCL12 expression in the stromal cells and cytoreduction satisfaction are independent prognostic markers of platinum-containing chemotherapy sensitivity in 296 EOC patients. Conclusion: CAFs may activate the Wnt/ß-catenin pathway in EOC cells via CXCL12/CXCR4 axis, and then induce EMT and cisplatin resistance.

RESUMO

NaCl and Na2SO4 are the foremost salt compositions in coastal wetlands, while their effects on soil net nitrogen mineralization still remain unclear. Aimed at investigating the two salt compositions on soil net nitrogen mineralization, a 30-day laboratory incubation experiment was respectively conducted by adding 5‰ NaCl and Na2SO4 to incubated coastal wetland soils under aerobic conditions. Our results showed that Na2SO4 addition increased the rates of mineralization (Rmin) by an average of 33.03% and nitrification (Rnit) by 23.84% during the incubation (p < 0.05). In contrast, NaCl addition significantly reduced Rmin by 71% and Rnit by 44% at day 7 (p < 0.05). The activities of fluorescein diacetate, arylamidase and urease in Na2SO4 addition treatments were higher than those in NaCl addition treatment. These results demonstrated the ion-specific effects of salt type on nitrogen mineralization rates and enzyme activities.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: To investigate the application value of magnetic resonance-ultrasound fusion (MR-USF) guided transperineal prostate biopsy (TPPB) in the diagnosis of prostate cancer. METHODS: Relevant data were collected retrospectively from 77 patients undergoing MR-USF guided TPPB (n = 22) or 12-core systematic prostate biopsy (SPB) (n = 55) in Binhai People's Hospital from May to July 2019 and statistically analyzed using the software Graphad Prism 7.0 and SPSS 22.0. RESULTS: The patients were aged 51-91 (70.5 ± 9.7) years, with a mean PSA level of (35.1 ± 115.4) µg/L (1.02-959 µg/L) and an average prostate volume of (48.81 ± 38.4) cm3 (7.54-307.61 cm3). There were no statistically significant differences in age, PSA, and BMI between the two groups of patients (P > 0.05). Prostate cancer was confirmed in 31 of the cases, with a positive rate of 40.26% (31/77), significantly higher in the TPPB (45.45% ï¼»10/22ï¼½ than in the SPB group (38.18% ï¼»21/55ï¼½, P < 0.01). Based on the PI-RADS scores, the Gleason grade was also higher in the former than in the latter group. CONCLUSIONS: MR-USF guided TPPB can improve the biopsy performance. Whether it should be used is based on the patient's PSA level and PI-RADS scores.

RESUMO

We introduce the background of Shanghai medical purchasing service and supervision platform (later we call it "open platform") and the effect of its implementation. We also analyze the problems occurred by medical institutions in the management of supplies, explore how to use open platform to strengthen the management of medical supplies, further optimize the structure of supplies, standardize the clinical reasonable use and charges, and ensure the quality, safety and traceability of supplies.
