BACKGROUND: This analysis examined the durability of antibodies present after SARS-CoV-2 infection and vaccination in children and adolescents. METHODS: Data were collected over 4 time points between October 2020-November 2022 as part of a prospective population-based cohort aged 5-to-19 years (N = 810). Results of the (1) Roche Elecsys® Anti-SARS-CoV-2 Immunoassay for detection of antibodies to the SARS-CoV-2 nucleocapsid protein (Roche N-test); and (2) qualitative and semi-quantitative detection of antibodies to the SARS CoV-2 spike protein receptor binding domain (Roche S-test); and (3) self-reported antigen/PCR COVID-19 test results, vaccination and symptom status were analyzed. RESULTS: N antibody levels reached a median of 84.10 U/ml (IQR: 20.2, 157.7) cutoff index (COI) ~ 6 months post-infection and increased slightly to a median of 85.25 (IQR: 28.0, 143.0) COI at 12 months post-infection. Peak S antibody levels were reached at a median of 2500 U/mL ~6 months post-vaccination and remained for ~12 months (mean 11.6 months, SD 1.20). CONCLUSIONS: This analysis provides evidence of robust durability of nucleocapsid and spike antibodies in a large pediatric sample up to 12 months post-infection/vaccination. This information can inform pediatric SARS-CoV-2 vaccination schedules. IMPACT: This study provided evidence of robust durability of both nucleocapsid and spike antibodies in a large pediatric sample up to 12 months after infection. Little is known about the long-term durability of natural and vaccine-induced SARS-CoV-2 antibodies in the pediatric population. Here, we determined the durability of anti-SARS-CoV-2 spike (S-test) and nucleocapsid protein (N-test) in children/adolescents after SARS-CoV-2 infection and/or vaccination lasts at least up to 12 months. This information can inform future SARS-CoV-2 vaccination schedules in this age group.

Abnormal electricity data, caused by electricity theft or meter failure, leads to the inaccuracy of aggregation results. These inaccurate results not only harm the interests of users but also affect the decision-making of the power system. However, the existing data aggregation schemes do not consider the impact of abnormal data. How to filter out abnormal data is a challenge. To solve this problem, in this study, we propose a lightweight and privacy-friendly data aggregation scheme against abnormal data, in which the valid data can correctly be aggregated but abnormal data will be filtered out during the aggregation process. This is more suitable for resource-limited smart meters, due to the adoption of lightweight matrix encryption. The automatic filtering of abnormal data without additional processes and the detection of abnormal data sources are where our protocol outperforms other schemes. Finally, a detailed security analysis shows that the proposed scheme can protect the privacy of users' data. In addition, the results of extensive simulations demonstrate that the additional computation cost to filter the abnormal data is within the acceptable range, which shows that our proposed scheme is still very effective.

Data are limited in the management of elderly women with endometrial cancer as they are under-represented in clinical trials. The aim of this study was to evaluate the outcomes of women ≥70 years who underwent hysterectomy. One hundred and twenty-one patients met the inclusion criteria. The median age among the cohort was 75 years (range: 70-91), and 52% underwent robotic surgery. The five-year overall survival (OS) rate was 67%. The five-year cumulative incidence of recurrence was 19%. Based on univariate analysis, white race, lower ASA score, higher pre-operative and post-operative haematocrit, lower estimated blood loss, stage I and robotic surgery were associated with improved OS. On multivariable analysis, ASA score, preoperative haematocrit, estimated blood loss and stage were associated with survival.Survival rates among older women were low and disease recurrence was high. Robotic surgery was safe and appeared to improve perioperative outcomes in older women with endometrial cancer.Impact StatementWhat is already known on this subject? Endometrial cancer is the most common gynaecologic cancer with an overall survival above 90%. Surgery is the cornerstone of treatment. With an ageing population, an increased incidence of endometrial cancer is also expected. Increased frailty and comorbid conditions may prevent this population from undergoing surgery; consequently, these patients are often undertreated for a potentially curable disease.What do the results of this study add? Older women with endometrial cancer have low survival rates and high disease recurrence rates. Elderly women can tolerate robotic surgery to reduce the risk of adverse events.What are the implications of these findings for clinical practice and/or further research? It is important to develop best practices to optimise patients for minimally invasive surgery. The benefits of robotic surgery may encourage patients and surgeons to partake in this approach. A multidisciplinary approach with geriatric evaluation may improve post-operative care and survival. Future clinical trials should include elderly women.

Dongli, or frozen pear, is a traditional Chinese snack with a unique flavor. This study identified the aroma-active volatile compounds (VOCs) in Dongli using quantitative descriptive analysis (QDA), gas chromatography-triple quadrupole tandem mass spectrometry (GC-MS/MS), and gas chromatography-olfactometry (GC-O). QDA indicated that Dongli of all cultivars presented increased sweet and wine aromas. A total of 21 VOCs were identified by GC-MS/MS. Bidirectional orthogonal partial least square (O2PLS) analysis, GC-O analysis, detection frequency analysis (DFA), and relative odor activity values (ROAV) showed that: estragole and anethole contributing "anise, green" aromas were the key aromatic VOCs of fresh pears, while ethyl butanoate, butyl acetate, heptyl acetate, benzaldehyde, and geranyl acetone contributing "sweet, fruity, green" aromas were the key aromatic VOCs of Dongli. The results revealed that the repeated freezing treatment promoted a unique aroma in pears. This study would contribute to developing new pear products. Turnip is a vegetable that has many health promoting effects. To diversify the usage and increase the consumption of turnip, the effects of hot air drying, infrared drying, explosion puff drying and freeze drying (FD) on the volatiles of turnip chips were studied. The volatiles of fresh turnip and dried turnip chips were isolated by HS-SPME-GC-MS and a total of 67 volatiles were identified. However, the volatiles in turnip chips dried by different methods are quite different. Based on principal component analysis and hierarchical cluster analysis, the volatiles of fresh turnip were distinguished from those of the dried chips and FD was separated from the other drying methods. As the result of orthogonal projection on latent structure-discriminant analysis (OPLS-DA), isothiocyanato-cyclopropane and (2-isothiocyanatoethyl)-benzene were identified as the characteristic volatiles of fresh turnip. While, 2-azido-2,3,3-trimethyl-butane and hexanal were identified as the characteristic volatiles for FD dried chips.
