RESUMO

Spin Hall effect (SHE) of Laguerre-Gaussian (LG) beams reflected and transmitted in parity-time (PT) symmetric metamaterials are investigated near the coherent-perfect-absorption (CPA)-laser point and exceptional points (EPs). The numerical results show that large transverse shifts occur at the CPA-laser point regardless of the incident direction. But at EPs, the SHE increases at one side and disappears at the other side, thus achieving the intense SHE of the reflected light beams at the specified side incidence. In addition, it is found that Bragg oscillation can be generated by increasing the period number of PT symmetric metamaterial layers, thus increasing the number of formants in transverse displacement. In particular, the transverse shift peaks of the transmitted beams merge into a positive peak when the incident angle is close to 90∘ and does not change basically with the increasing of Im(ɛ), which can also be considered as a strong tolerance to the variation of Im(ɛ). This feature is expected to realize a new type of optoelectronic devices with anti-interference performance. These results provide a feasible path for the modulation of spin Hall effect of light (SHEL) and provide the possibility for the development of new nanophotonic devices.

RESUMO

The integration of large-scale wind power adds a significant uncertainty to power system planning and operating. The wind forecast error is decreased with the forecast horizon, particularly when it is from one day to several hours ahead. Integrating intraday unit commitment (UC) adjustment process based on updated ultra-short term wind forecast information is one way to improve the dispatching results. A novel three-stage UC decision method, in which the day-ahead UC decisions are determined in the first stage, the intraday UC adjustment decisions of subfast start units are determined in the second stage, and the UC decisions of fast-start units and dispatching decisions are determined in the third stage is presented. Accordingly, a three-stage birandom UC model is presented, in which the intraday hours-ahead forecasted wind power is formulated as a birandom variable, and the intraday UC adjustment event is formulated as a birandom event. The equilibrium chance constraint is employed to ensure the reliability requirement. A birandom simulation based hybrid genetic algorithm is designed to solve the proposed model. Some computational results indicate that the proposed model provides UC decisions with lower expected total costs.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the clinical value of surgical treatment for acute pulmonary embolism under shallow low temperature cardiopulmonary bypass. METHODS: From April 2004 to October 2009, the data of 12 inpatients with acute pulmonary embolism were analyzed. Deep vein thrombosis was present in all patients. There were unilateral pulmonary embolism (n=7), bilateral pulmonary embolism (n=5), shock (n=5); heart function class III (n=7) and heart function class IV (n=5). The average time from onset to surgery was 9 hours. RESULTS: Among all cases, no recurrence was observed. All showed normal heart function and fully resumed manual labor. CONCLUSION: Surgical thrombectomy for acute pulmonary embolism has an excellent clinical efficacy. Its routine use should be encouraged.

RESUMO

SiO/SiO2 superlattices samples were prepared on Si substrates by reactive evaporation of SiO powder in vacuum or an oxygen atmosphere. The samples were annealed in nitrogen atmosphere at high temperature subsequently. And then, H+ with a dose of 3.0 x 10(14) x cm(-2) and 3.0 x 10(15) x cm(-2) respectively was implanted into these samples with formed Si nanocrystals at 20 keV. The PL spectra showed that the PL intensities of samples with H+ implanting dropped sharply compared with the samples without H+ implanting. The PL intensity increased gradually with increasing re-annealing temperature; and it even could exceed that of samples without H+ implanting if the dose of H+ was enough. Our further investigations showed that the varieties of the PL intensities were mainly dependent on the area density of the defects formed in the samples, and also the area density of the defects was influenced by the dose of H+ and the further re-annealing temperatures.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVES: To lay a theoretical foundation for studies on strategies for improvement of Magnolia officinalis and select superior gemplasm resources to meet the demand for modernization, industrialization and internationalization of Chinese medicine. METHODS: Seeds of Magnolia officinalis from 13 main habitats of 7 provinces were collected and strewn in a place of Jingning County, Zhejiang. At the age of seven, 195 samples were collected from the same height of the trunk of 15 individual trees of each provenance, and assayed for effective ingredients with HPLC. RESULTS: Differences in the content of phenols were significant among the seed sources and even greater among individuals within a seed source. CONCLUSIONS: 3 seed sources viz. Wufeng, Hefeng and Enshi of Hubei were obviously superior to other seed sources on account of high contents of magnolol, honokoiol and total phenols. Extension and application of these 3 seed sources is an effective path leading to quality improvement of Magnolia officinalis. With great differences in the content of phenols existing among individuals within each source, there is a big gap between production of medicinal materials by merely using superior seed sources of Magnolia officinalis and the demand of stable and controllable quality for modernization and internationalization of Chinese medicine. But the great difference has laid a material foundation and brought about a great potential for genetic improvement of Magnolia officinalis. Therefore, the superior individuals within a superior seed source are an excellent material for the breeding of Magnolia officinalis.
