RESUMO

The traditional methods for identifying water sources in coal mines lack the ability to quickly detect water sources and are prone to causing secondary pollution of samples. In contrast, laser induced fluorescence (LIF) technology has been introduced for the identification of coal mine water sources due to its high sensitivity and real-time performance. However, extreme learning machine (ELM) have shortcomings in randomly selecting weights and biases. The Beluga Whale Optimization (BWO) algorithm has efficient optimization capability, global search capability, adaptability and parallelism, and can find the optimal weights and biases in a short time. The combination of LIF technology and BWO-ELM model can be applied to quickly identify the welling water source in coal mine. Select sandstone water and old goaf water from the Huainan mining area as experimental samples, and mix them in different proportions to prepare 7 mixed water samples for testing. Utilize LIF technology to obtain spectral curve images, preprocess them with polynomial smoothing algorithm (SG) and spectral multiple scattering correction (MSC), and perform dimensionality reduction using factor analysis (FA) and linear discriminant analysis (LDA) methods. Finally, construct ELM models, Long Short Term Memory (LSTM) models, BWO-ELM models, and Particle Swarm Optimization Extreme Learning Machine(PSO-ELM) models for the dimensionality reduced data. In order to improve the reliability and accuracy of the results, the experimental results were kept to 5 decimal places. From the experimental results, it can be seen that SG-LDA-BWO-ELM has the best fitting effect, with a fitting coefficient of 0.99990, a root mean square error of 0.00041, a mean square error approaching 0, and an average absolute error of 0.00021. It has the best convergence and the smallest absolute error among all models, making it the most suitable for identifying mine water inrush. It is of great significance for preventing and controlling mine water disasters and ensuring coal mine production safety.

Ten undocumented carbazole derivatives (2-11) along with the reported analogue (1) were isolated from the mangrove-derived Streptomyces sp. OUCMDZ-5511, cultured with NaBr-supplemented liquid medium. Compounds 1-7 are brominated carbazoles, and 8, 10, and 11 feature an additional thiazole or 2,3-dihydro-1,4-oxathiine rings, respectively. Their structures were identified through spectroscopic techniques, computational chemistry, and X-ray crystallography. Notably, compounds 6 and 8 effectively inhibited immune cell migration, indicating anti-inflammatory activity in vivo, potentially via Myd88/Nf-κB pathways, as suggested for compound 6.

Lineament is a unique geological structure. The study of Lunar lineament structure has great significance on understanding its history and evolution of Lunar surface. However, the existing geographic feature extraction methods are not suitable for the extraction of Lunar lineament structure. In this paper, a new lineament extraction method is proposed based on improved-UNet++ and YOLOv5. Firstly, new lineament dataset is created containing lineaments structure based on CCD data from LROC. At same time the residual blocks are replaced with the VGG blocks in the down sample part of the UNet++ with adding the attention block between each layer. Secondly, the improved-UNet++ and YOLO networks are trained to execute the object detection and semantic segmentation of lineament structure respectively. Finally, a polygon-match strategy is proposed to combine the results of object detection and semantic segmentation. The experiment result indicate that this new method has relatively better and more stable performance compared with current mainstream networks and the original UNet++ network in the instance segmentation of lineament structure. Additionally, the polygon-match strategy is able to perform preciser edge detail in the instance segmentation of lineament structure result.

BACKGROUND: The objective of this research is to clarify the impact of periodontitis on overall and cardiovascular-related death rates among hypertensive individuals. METHOD: A total of 5665 individuals with hypertension were included from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) data spanning 2001-2004 and 2009-2014. These individuals were divided into two groups based on the presence or absence of periodontitis and further stratified by the severity of periodontitis. We employed weighted multivariate Cox proportional hazards regression and Kaplan-Meier curves (log-rank test) to evaluate the impact of periodontitis on all-cause and cardiovascular mortality. Additional analyses, including adjustments for various covariates, subgroups, and sensitivity analyses, were conducted to ensure the robustness and reliability of our results. RESULT: Over an average follow-up duration of 10.22 years, there were 1,122 all-cause and 297 cardiovascular deaths. Individuals with periodontitis exhibited an elevated risk of all-cause mortality (HR = 1.33, 95% CI 1.18-1.51; p < 0.0001) and cardiovascular mortality (HR = 1.48, 95% CI 1.15-1.89; p = 0.002). Moreover, we observed a progressive increase in both all-cause mortality and cardiovascular mortality (p for trend are both lower than 0.001) and correlating with the severity of periodontitis. These associations remained consistent across various subgroup and sensitivity analyses. CONCLUSION: Our findings suggest a significant association between periodontitis and increased risks of all-cause and cardiovascular mortality among hypertensive individuals. Notably, the severity of periodontitis appears to be a critical factor, with moderate to severe cases exerting a more pronounced impact on all-cause mortality. Additionally, cardiovascular disease mortality significantlly increases in individuals with varying degrees of periodontitis.

All living organisms are subjected to mechanical forces at all times. It has been reported that mechanics regulate many key cellular processes, including cell polarity establishment, cell division and gene expression, as a physical signal in both animal and plant development. Plant cells are exposed to several types of mechanical stresses, ranging from turgor-driven tensile stresses, mechanical force modified by heterogeneous growth directions and rates between neighbouring cells, to forces from the environment such as wind and rain, for which they have developed adaptive mechanisms. Increasing evidence has revealed that mechanical stresses markedly influence the alignment of cortical microtubules (CMTs) in plant cells, among other effects. CMTs are able to reorient in response to mechanical stresses at both the single-cell and tissue levels and always align with the maximal tensile stress direction. In this review, we discussed the known and potential molecules and pathways involved in the regulation of CMTs by mechanical stresses. We also summarized the available techniques that have allowed for mechanical perturbation. Finally, we highlighted several key questions remaining to be addressed in this emerging field.

Seven new eremophilane sesquiterpenoids, paraconulones A-G (1-7), along with three previously reported analogues, periconianone D (8), microsphaeropsisin (9), and 4-epi-microsphaeropsisin (10), were obtained from an EtOAc extract of the marine-derived fungus Paraconiothyrium sporulosum DL-16. The structures of these compounds were elucidated by extensive spectroscopic and spectrometric analyses, single-crystal X-ray diffraction, and computational studies. Compounds 1, 2, and 4 are the first examples of dimeric eremophilane sesquiterpenoids coupled through a C-C bond identified from microorganisms. Compounds 2-5, 7, and 10 showed inhibitory effects on lipopolysaccharide-induced NO production in BV2 cells, which were comparable to the positive control curcumin.

Nine new chromane-type meroterpenoids, including the rare nor-meroterpenoid sargasilol A (1) and the eight meroditerpenoids sargasilols B-I (2-9), were isolated from a China Sea collection of the brown alga Sargassum siliquastrum, together with six known analogues (10-15). The structures of the new chromanes were identified by extensive spectroscopic analysis and by comparison with previously reported data. Compounds 1-3 and 6-15 exhibited inhibition against LPS-induced NO production in BV-2 microglial cells, and 1, with a shorter carbon chain, was the most active one. Compound 1 was established as an anti-neuroinflammatory agent through targeting the IKK/IκB/NF-κB signaling pathway. As such, the chromanes from brown algae could provide promising anti-neuroinflammatory lead compounds for further structural modification.

Aiming at the problems of long detection time and low detection accuracy in the existing coal gangue recognition, this paper proposes a method to collect the multispectral images of coal gangue using spectral technology and match with the improved YOLOv5s (You Only Look Once Version-5s) neural network model to apply it to coal gangue target recognition and detection, which can effectively reduce the detection time and improve the detection accuracy and recognition effect of coal gangue. In order to take the coverage area, center point distance and aspect ratio into account at the same time, the improved YOLOv5s neural network replaces the original GIou Loss loss function with CIou Loss loss function. At the same time, DIou NMS replaces the original NMS, which can effectively detect overlapping targets and small targets. In the experiment, 490 sets of multispectral data were obtained through the multispectral data acquisition system. Using the random forest algorithm and the correlation analysis of bands, the spectral images of the sixth, twelfth and eighteenth bands from twenty-five bands were selected to form a pseudo RGB image. A total of 974 original sample images of coal and gangue were obtained. Through two image noise reduction methods, namely, Gaussian filtering algorithm and non-local average noise reduction, 1948 images of coal gangue were obtained after preprocessing the dataset. This was divided into a training set and test set according to an 8:2 ratio and trained in the original YOLOv5s neural network, improved YOLOv5s neural network and SSD neural network. By identifying and detecting the three neural network models obtained after training, the results can be obtained, the loss value of the improved YOLOv5s neural network model is smaller than the original YOLOv5s neural network and SSD neural network, the recall rate is closer to 1 than the original YOLOv5s neural network and SSD neural network, the detection time is the shortest, the recall rate is 100% and the average detection accuracy of coal and gangue is the highest. The average precision of the training set is increased to 0.995, which shows that the improved YOLOv5s neural network has a better effect on the detection and recognition of coal gangue. The detection accuracy of the improved YOLOv5s neural network model test set is increased from 0.73 to 0.98, and all overlapping targets can also be accurately detected without false detection or missed detection. At the same time, the size of the improved YOLOv5s neural network model after training is reduced by 0.8 MB, which is conducive to hardware transplantation.

Recently, the supra-normal left ventricular ejection fraction (snLVEF) has been proposed, based on extensive datasets indicating increased all-cause mortality in individuals with an LVEF exceeding 65%. However, the implications of an LVEF > 65% in the context of acute coronary syndrome (ACS) remain underexplored.The aim of the present study was to investigate the correlation between supra-normal left ventricular ejection fraction (snLVEF) and major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE) in patients with ACS.Methods: A total of 874 ACS patients (560 men, mean age 59.5 ± 10.0; 314 women, mean age 61.5 ± 8.9) who underwent their first coronary angiography during the period from March 2013 to October 2015 were divided into 2 groups: normal LVEF (nLVEF) (55% ≤ EF ≤ 65%) and snLVEF (EF > 65%), according to their echocardiography results. The patients were evaluated for MACE after surgery by collecting clinical data and long-term follow-up data. This correlation was further analyzed by Kaplan-Meier analysis and Cox regression analysis.The follow-up data revealed a significantly higher incidence of MACE among snLVEF patients compared to the nLVEF group (15.6% versus 7.4%; P = 0.020). This heightened risk persisted even after adjustment for multiple variables, indicating a strong association between snLVEF and increased MACE risk (HR: 2.346; 95% CI: 1.196-4.602; P = 0.013).SnLVEF was independently associated with poor prognosis after ACS. Enhanced management strategies for snLVEF patients could potentially reduce the incidence of MACE in ACS patients.

Twelve compounds were isolated from Liquidambaris Resina by silica gel column chromatography and thin layer chromatography. Their structures were identified on the basis of spectral data, electron capture detector data, and physicochemical properties as(2'R, 3'R)-2',3'-dihydroxy-hydrocinnamyl-(E)-cinnamate(1),(E)-cinnamyl-(E)-cinnamate(2), cinnamic acid(3), 28-norlup-20(29)-en-3-one-17ß-hydroperoxide(4), erythrodiol(5), 13ß,28-epoxy-30-hydroxyolean-1-en-3-one(6),(3ß)-olean-12-ene-3,23-diol(7), 2α,3α-dihydroxy-olean-12-en-28-oic acid(8), 28-hydroxyolean-12-en-3-one(9), 3-epi-oleanolic acid(10), 3-oxo-oleanolic acid(11), and hederagenin(12). Compound 1 was a new cinnamic acid ester derivative and compounds 2-4,6-8, and 12 were isolated from Liquidambaris Resina for the first time. Compounds 4, 5, 10, and 12 exerted inhibitory effects on the proliferation of human umbilical vein endothelial cells(HUVEC) with the IC_(50) values of(17.43±2.17),(35.32±0.61),(27.50±0.80), and(46.30±0.30) µmol·L~(-1), respectively.

BACKGROUND: Polyploid species often originate recurrently. While this is well known, there is little information on the extent to which distinct allotetraploid species formed from the same parent species differ in gene expression. The tetraploid yarrow species Achillea alpina and A. wilsoniana arose independently from allopolyploidization between diploid A. acuminata and A. asiatica. The genetics and geography of these origins are clear from previous studies, providing a solid basis for comparing gene expression patterns of sibling allopolyploid species that arose independently. RESULTS: We conducted comparative RNA-sequencing analyses on the two Achillea tetraploid species and their diploid progenitors to evaluate: 1) species-specific gene expression and coexpression across the four species; 2) patterns of inheritance of parental gene expression; 3) parental contributions to gene expression in the allotetraploid species, and homeolog expression bias. Diploid A. asiatica showed a higher contribution than diploid A. acuminata to the transcriptomes of both tetraploids and also greater homeolog bias in these transcriptomes, possibly reflecting a maternal effect. Comparing expressed genes in the two allotetraploids, we found expression of ca. 30% genes were species-specific in each, which were most enriched for GO terms pertaining to "defense response". Despite species-specific and differentially expressed genes between the two allotetraploids, they display similar transcriptome changes in comparison to their diploid progenitors. CONCLUSION: Two independently originated Achillea allotetraploid species exhibited difference in gene expression, some of which must be related to differential adaptation during their post-speciation evolution. On the other hand, they showed similar expression profiles when compared to their progenitors. This similarity might be expected when pairs of merged diploid genomes in tetraploids are similar, as is the case in these two particular allotetraploids.

Five new diterpenes, including four new hydroazulenes, (8R,11R)-8,11-diacetoxypachydictyol A (1), (8R*,11R*)-6-O-acetyl-8-acetoxy-11-hydroxypachydictyol A (2), (8R*,11S*)-8-acetoxy-11-hydroxypachydictyol A (3), and (8R*,11S*)-6-O-acetyl-8,11-dihydroxypachydictyol A (4), and a secohydroazulene derivative, named 7Z-7,8-seco-7,11-didehydro-8- acetoxypachydictyol A (5), were isolated from a South China Sea collection of a Dictyota sp. nov. brown alga, together with five known analogues (6-10). Structure elucidation was achieved by extensive spectroscopic analysis and comparison with reported data. All compounds showed potent antioxidant effects against H2O2-induced oxidative damage in neuron-like PC12 cells at a low concentration of 2 µM. The antioxidant property of dictyol C (9) was associated with activation of the Nrf2/ARE signaling pathway; it also showed neuroprotective effects against cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury (CIRI) in a rat model of transient middle cerebral artery occlusion. As such, hydroazulene diterpenes could serve as lead structures for the development of novel neuroprotective agents against CIRI.

A photoelectrochemical (PEC) aptasensor was designed and constructed by Bi24O31Cl10/BiOCl heterojunction as a photoelectric active material for realizing the determination of trace ciprofloxacin (CIP) in water. Compared with Bi24O31Cl10, Bi24O31Cl10/BiOCl heterojunction possessed the improvement of light harvesting and the enhancement of photocurrent signal. The formation of heterojunction between Bi24O31Cl10 and BiOCl can accelerate the transportation efficiency and inhibit the recombination rate of photoinduced carriers. Based on the excellent PEC performance, CIP aptamer was introduced on the modified Bi24O31Cl10/BiOCl/indium tin oxide (ITO) electrode for fabricating a PEC aptasensor. Owing to the combination between aptamer and CIP, CIP-aptamer complex can block the transfer of charge, leading to the reduction of photocurrent response. The PEC aptasensor possessed high sensitivity with a wide detection range (5.0~1.0 × 104 ng L-1) and a low detection limit (1.67 ng L-1, S/N = 3). The PEC aptasensor with good selectivity and reproducibility has been applied to the determination of CIP in water.

BACKGROUND: Maternal effects contribute to adaptive significance for shaping various phenotypes of many traits. Potential implications of maternal effects are the cause of expression diversity, but these effects on mRNA expression and alternative splicing (AS) have not been fully elucidated in hybrid animals. RESULTS: Two reciprocal cross hybrids following hybridization of Megalobrama amblycephala (blunt snout bream, BSB) and Culter alburnus (topmouth culter, TC) were used as a model to investigate maternal effects. By comparing the expression of BSB- and TC- homoeologous genes between the two reciprocal cross hybrids, we identified 49-348 differentially expressed BSB-homoeologous genes and 54-354 differentially expressed TC-homoeologous genes. 2402, 2959, and 3418 AS events between the two reciprocal cross hybrids were detected in Illumina data of muscle, liver, and gonad, respectively. Moreover, 21,577 (TC-homoeologs) and 30,007 (BSB-homoeologs) AS events were found in the 20,131 homoeologous gene pairs of TBF3 based on PacBio data, while 30,561 (TC-homoeologs) and 30,305 (BSB-homoeologs) AS events were found in BTF3. These results further improve AS prediction at the homoeolog level. The various AS patterns in bmpr2a belonging to the bone morphogenetic protein family were selected as AS models to investigate the expression diversity and its potential effects to body shape traits. CONCLUSIONS: The distribution of differentially expressed genes and AS in BSB- and TC-subgenomes exhibited various changes between the two reciprocal cross hybrids, suggesting that maternal effects were the cause of expression diversity. These findings provide a novel insight into mRNA expression changes and AS under maternal effects in lower vertebrates.

Persian walnut (Juglans regia) is cultivated worldwide for its high-quality wood and nuts, but its origin has remained mysterious because in phylogenies it occupies an unresolved position between American black walnuts and Asian butternuts. Equally unclear is the origin of the only American butternut, J. cinerea. We resequenced the whole genome of 80 individuals from 19 of the 22 species of Juglans and assembled the genome of its relatives Pterocarya stenoptera and Platycarya strobilacea. Using phylogenetic-network analysis of single-copy nuclear genes, genome-wide site pattern probabilities, and Approximate Bayesian Computation, we discovered that J. regia (and its landrace J. sigillata) arose as a hybrid between the American and the Asian lineages and that J. cinerea resulted from massive introgression from an immigrating Asian butternut into the genome of an American black walnut. Approximate Bayesian Computation modeling placed the hybrid origin in the late Pliocene, ∼3.45 My, with both parental lineages since having gone extinct in Europe.

Direct water splitting over photocatalysts is a prospective strategy to convert solar energy into hydrogen energy. Nevertheless, because of the undesirable electron accumulation at the surface, the overall water-splitting efficiency is seriously restricted by the poor charge separation/transfer ability. Here, an all-organic donor-acceptor (D-A) system through crafting carbon rings units-conjugated tubular graphitic carbon nitride (C-TCN) is proposed. Through a range of characterizations and theoretical calculations, the incorporation of carbon rings units via continuous π-conjugated bond builds a D-A system, which can drive intramolecular charge transfer to realize highly efficient charge separation. More importantly, the tubular structure and the incorporated carbon rings units cause a significant downshift of the valence band, of which the potential is beneficial to the activation for O2 evolution. When serving as photocatalyst for overall water splitting, C-TCN displays considerable performance with H2 and O2 production rates of 204.6 and 100.8 µmol g-1 h-1 , respectively. The corresponding external quantum efficiency reaches 2.6% at 405 nm, and still remains 1.7% at 420 nm. This work demonstrates that the all-organic D-A system conceptualized from organic solar cell can offer promotional effect for overall water splitting by addressing the charge accumulation problem rooted in the hydrogen evolution reaction.

A photoelectrochemical (PEC) aptasensor based on silver nanoparticle/BiOCl (AgNP/BiOCl) composites was constructed for detecting chloramphenicol (CAP). The surface-plasmon resonance (SPR) effect of AgNPs can focus the incident light and promote the migration and separation of the photogenerated carriers of AgNP/BiOCl composites. As a result, the AgNP/BiOCl composites showed an enhanced PEC performance compared to that of pure BiOCl. A PEC CAP aptasensor was fabricated using AgNP/BiOCl composites as photoactive materials and a CAP aptamer as a recognition element. The PEC aptasensor exhibited a broad linear response range (0.2 pM-10 nM), a low limit of determination (0.08 pM), satisfactory selectivity, stability, and reproducibility to meet the practical analysis requirements. This work demonstrates that the PEC CAP aptasensor has a promising prospect in environmental assays.

The extract of the strain Aspergillus flavipes DL-11 exerted antibacterial activities against six Gram-positive bacteria. During the following bioassay-guided separation, ten diphenyl ethers (1-10), two benzophenones (11-12), together with two xanthones (13-14) were isolated. Among them, 4'-chloroasterric acid (1) was a new chlorinated diphenyl ether. Their structures were elucidated by extensive spectroscopic data analysis, including IR, HR-ESI-MS, NMR experiments, and by comparison with the literature data. All compounds showed moderate to strong antibacterial effects on different Gram-positive bacteria with MIC values that ranged from 3.13 to 50 µg/mL, but none of the compounds exhibited activity against Gram-negative bacteria Vibrio parahaemolyticus ATCC17802 (MIC>100 µg/mL). In particular, the MICs of some compounds are at the level of positive control.

Five new diterpenes, including an unprecedented 5,5,6,6,5-pentacyclic diterpene, sponalactone (1), two new spongian diterpenes, 17- O-acetylepispongiatriol (2) and 17- O-acetylspongiatriol (3), and two new spongian diterpene artifacts, 15α,16α-dimethoxy-15,16-dihydroepispongiatriol (4) and 15α-ethoxyepispongiatriol-16(15 H)-one (5), were isolated from a South China Sea collection of the marine sponge Spongia officinalis, together with three known analogues (6-8). The structures of the new diterpenes were elucidated by extensive spectroscopic analysis. The absolute configurations were established on the basis of ECD data. Compounds 1-5 and 7 exhibited moderate inhibition against LPS-induced NO production in RAW264.7 macrophages with IC50 values of 12-32 µM.

A self-powered photoelectrochemical (PEC) aptamer probe is presented for the determination of oxytetracycline (OTC). The assay is based on the use of g-C3N4 and NiO nanocrystals (NCs) which form a heterojunction. The latter was prepared by two-step hydrothermal pyrolysis by using the ionic liquid 1-hydroxyethyl-3-methylimidazole chloride which functions as a morphological template to form NiO NCs. The heterojunction exhibits much better electronic conductivity, wider absorption range, higher electron-hole-separation productivity, and stronger photocurrent compared to plain g-C3N4. The heterojunction was adopted to construct a self-powered PEC aptamer probe for OTC detection. An OTC-binding aptamer was immobilized on the heterojunction and the probe was constructed. The aptamer on the probe binding with OTC can form steric hindrance for transmitting of electrons and cause the PEC signal change depending on the OTC concentration. The photocurrent decreases with increasing OTC concentration in the 0.01 to 100 nM concentration range and its detection limit is 4 pM (at S/N = 3).
