RESUMO

BACKGROUND AND AIMS: Magnifying image-enhanced endoscopy (MIEE) is an advanced endoscopy with image enhancement and magnification used in preoperative examination. However, its impact on the detection rate is unknown. METHODS: We conducted an open-label, randomized, parallel (1:1:1), controlled trial in 6 hospitals in China. Patients were recruited between February 14, 2022 and July 30, 2022. Eligible patients were aged ≥18 years and undergoing gastroscopy in outpatient departments. Participants were randomly assigned to the MIEE-only mode (o-MIEE) group, white-light endoscopy-only mode (o-WLE) group, and MIEE when necessary mode (n-MIEE) group (initial WLE followed by switching to another endoscope with MIEE if necessary). Biopsy sampling of suspicious lesions of the lesser curvature of the gastric antrum was performed. Primary and secondary aims were to compare detection rates and positive predictive value (PPV) of early cancer and precancerous lesions in these 3 modes, respectively. RESULTS: A total of 5100 recruited patients were randomly assigned to the o-MIEE (n = 1700), o-WLE (n = 1700), and n-MIEE (n = 1700) groups. In the o-MIEE, o-WLE, and n-MIEE groups, 29 (1.51%; 95% confidence interval [CI], 1.05-2.16), 4 (.21%; 95% CI, .08-.54), and 8 (.43%; 95% CI, .22-.85) early cancers were found, respectively (P < .001). The PPV for early cancer was higher in the o-MIEE group compared with the o-WLE and n-MIEE groups (63.04%, 33.33%, and 38.1%, respectively; P = .062). The same trend was seen for precancerous lesions (36.67%, 10.00%, and 21.74%, respectively). CONCLUSIONS: The o-MIEE mode resulted in a significant improvement in diagnosing early upper GI cancer and precancerous lesions; thus, it could be used for opportunistic screening. RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Golden 2-Like (G2-like) transcription factors play an important role in plant development. However, the roles of these G2-like regulatory genes in response to abiotic stresses in tomato are not well understood. RESULTS: In this study, we identified 66 putative G2-like genes in tomato (Solanum lycopersicum) and classified them into 5 groups (I to V) according to gene structure, motif composition and phylogenetic analysis. The G2-like genes were unevenly distributed across all 12 chromosomes. There were nine pairs of duplicated gene segments and four tandem duplicated SlGlk genes. Analysis of the cis-regulatory elements (CREs) showed that the promoter regions of SlGlks contain many kinds of stress- and hormone-related CREs. Based on RNA-seq, SlGlks were expressed in response to three abiotic stresses. Thirty-six differentially expressed SlGlks were identified; these genes have multiple functions according to Gene Ontology (GO) analysis and are enriched mainly in the zeatin biosynthesis pathway. Further studies exhibited that silencing SlGlk16 in tomato would reduce drought stress tolerance by earlier wilted, lower superoxide dismutase (SOD), peroxidase (POD) activities, less Pro contents and more MDA contents. CONCLUSIONS: Overall, the results of this study provide comprehensive information on G2-like transcription factors and G2-like genes that may be expressed in response to abiotic stresses.

RESUMO

Sixteen chebulic acid derivatives, including nine new (1-9) and seven known (10-16) ones, were isolated from an ethanol extract of the branches and leaves of Balakata baccata. The structures of the new compounds were elucidated by their UV, IR, HRESIMS, NMR, electronic circular dichroism (ECD) and single-crystal X-ray diffraction data. The effects of all the isolates on antineuroinflammatory and antioxidant activities were evaluated. Compared with the positive control minocycline (IC50 = 1.21 ± 0.71 µM), compounds 1-16 with IC50 values being greater than 50 µM, displayed almost no effects on the inhibition of NO production in LPS-induced BV-2 microglial cells, however, the results of antioxidant activity for compounds 1-16 showed significant DPPH-radical scavenging abilities with EC50 value ranging from 3.98 to 14.24 µM, while the EC50 value of positive control vitamin C was 14.31 µM. At last, the results of PCR (qRT-PCR) analysis showed that compound 1 could enhance the expression of antioxidases (HO-1, GCLC, and NQO1) at the mRNA levels.

RESUMO

Four new diterpenoids (1-4), three new triterpenoids (12-14), and seven known diterpenoids (5-11) were obtained from an aqueous EtOH extract of the aerial parts of Triadica rotundifolia. The structures of new compounds were determined by spectroscopic techniques. Their absolute configurations were verified via single-crystal X-ray diffraction data, Mo2(OAc)4 induced electronic circular dichroism (ECD), and ECD calculations. The antineuroinflammatory effects of the isolates were assessed by inhibiting NO production in LPS-induced BV-2 microglial cells. Compared with the positive control minocycline (IC50 = 16.1 µM), compounds 3, 8, 11 showed moderate inhibitory activities with IC50 values of 35.9, 17.0, 31.5 µM, respectively.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) is a common sleep disorder in Parkinson's disease (PD). However, the relationship between OSA and PD is still inconsistent. Our study was aimed to evaluate the relationship between PD and OSA. METHODS: Studies on OSA and PD were searched using PubMed, Embase, Web of Science, Cochrane library, and Chinese National Knowledge Infrastructure databases. Review Manager 5.3 software was used to calculate the pooled estimate effect. The inverse variance model was used to pool the mean difference (MD) or hazard ratios (HRs); the Mantel-Haenszel method was used to pool the odds ratio (OR). Heterogeneity among the studies was assessed using I2 statistic and Q test. RESULTS: A total of 12 studies with 93,332 cases were deemed eligible and included in our meta-analysis. Overall, the occurrence of PD was more frequent in patients with OSA (HR 1.59, 95% CI, 1.36-1.85). The subgroup analysis demonstrated the risk similarly by sex. Male and female had HR of incident PD with OSA of 1.56 (95% CI, 1.30-1.87) and 1.60 (95% CI, 1.21-2.11), respectively. The incidence of OSA did not increase in PD patients (OR 0.89, 95% CI, 0.53-1.49). The MD of apnea-hypopnea index (AHI) in PD patients was also not statistically significant (P = 0.5). CONCLUSIONS: The results indicate that OSA is one of independent risk factors of PD. However, OSA does not seem to be abnormally frequent in PD.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: The aim of this study was to evaluate the influence of total hip arthroplasty on axial alignment of the lower limb in adults with unilateral developmental hip dysplasia (Crowe type IV). METHODS: We retrospectively reviewed medical records of 50 adults who underwent total hip arthroplasty, in which the acetabular cup was placed in the anatomical position. The following parameters were measured before surgery, immediately after surgery, and two years later: mechanical axis deviation (MAD), tibiofemoral angle (TFA), femoral offset, hip-knee-ankle angle (HKA), mechanical lateral distal femoral angle (LDFA), mechanical medial proximal tibial angle, height of medial femoral condyle, height of lateral femoral condyle, and leg lengthening. Length of the resected femoral segment was also recorded from medical records. RESULTS: Preoperative MAD, TFA, HKA, and LDFA of the ipsilateral lower limb showed significant valgus deformity. MAD of the ipsilateral lower limb and valgus inclination were significantly smaller immediately after surgery than before, while TFA, HKA, femoral offset, and LDFA were significantly larger (P < 0.05). These parameters did not differ significantly between immediately after surgery and two years later (P > 0.05). Ipsilateral extremities were extended by a mean of 2.54 cm (range, 0 to 5.35 cm). The mean length of the femoral resected segment was 3.56 cm (range, 2.03 to 5.74 cm). The contralateral lower limb showed marginally smaller MAD and medial proximal tibial angle after surgery than before, but larger LDFA, TAF, and HKA. CONCLUSIONS: In patients with developmental hip dysplasia who underwent total hip arthroplasty with placement of the acetabular component at the level of the anatomic hip center, axial alignment of the ipsilateral lower limb was immediately altered, and valgus inclination was significantly reduced. The procedure only slightly altered the axial alignment of the contralateral lower limb.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND/AIMS: This study aimed to investigate the effects of the VR-10 TSP-1 synthetic polypeptide on cytokines and the proliferation and migration of endothelial cells, as well as exploring a new method for anti-ocular neoangiogenesis. METHODS: We measured the proliferation of RF/6A cells by an MTT assay and investigated the migration of RF/6A cells by a Transwell chamber assay. We examined the mRNA transcript levels of TGF-ß2, VEGF, PEDF, Bcl-2 and FasL in RF/6A cells by RT-PCR and evaluated the expression of Fas and caspase-3 proteins in RF/6A cells by western blot analysis. RESULTS: 1. TSP-1 (1 µg/ml) and synthetic peptide VR-10 (0.1 µg/ml, 1 µg/ml and 10 µg/ml) inhibited the proliferation of RF/6A cells in a time and dose-dependent way. 2. TSP-1 and synthetic peptide VR-10 could inhibit the migration of RF/6A cells in a Transwell chamber (P < 0.001). It was demonstrated that 10 µg/ml synthetic peptide VR-10 had the strongest effect. 3. The expression of TGF-ß2 mRNA in RF/6A cells increased after treatment with 1 µg/ml TSP-1 (P < 0.0001). However, there was no significant difference between the synthetic peptide VR-10 and the control group (P > 0.05). Expression of PEDF mRNA in RF/6A cells was increased after treatment with 1 µg/ml TSP-1 and synthetic peptide VR-10. We demonstrated that 10 µg/ml synthetic peptide VR-10 had the strongest effect (P < 0.001). There were significant differences between groups (P < 0.001). Expression of TGF-ß2 mRNA in RF/6A cells increased after treatment with 1 µg/ml TSP-1 (P = 0.000). There was no significant difference between the synthetic peptide VR-10 and the control group (P > 0.05). PEDF mRNA expression in RF/6A cells decreased after 1 µg/ml TSP-1 and synthetic peptide VR-10 therapy, among which 10 µg/ml synthetic peptide VR-10 demonstrated the strongest effect (P < 0.001). There were significant differences between groups (P < 0.001), except for the 1 µg/ml synthetic peptide VR-10 and 1 µg/ml synthetic peptide VR-10 groups (P = 0.615). 4. Compared with the control group, FasL mRNA expression was significantly increased in the 10 µg/ml synthetic peptide VR-10 treatment group; however, Bcl-2 mRNA expression was decreased. 5. Western blotting showed that RF/6A cells in the control group mainly expressed the 32 kD procaspase-3 forms. For the 10 µg/ml synthetic peptide, VR-10 treatment group, it showed decreased expression of procaspase-3 (32 kD) and concomitant increased expression of its shorter pro apoptotic forms (20 kD). Compared with the control group, Fas protein expression significantly increased in the 10 µg/ml synthetic peptide VR-10 treatment group. CONCLUSIONS: Synthetic peptide VR-10 had an inhibitory action on the proliferation and migration of RF/6A cells. VR-10 inhibited angiogenesis by its combined actions, which included up-regulating the expression of an anti-angiogenesis gene, namely, pigment epithelium-derived factor (PEDF), down-regulating the expression of the pro-angiogenic vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), and mediated endothelial cell apoptosis.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Accumulating evidence suggests that a decrease in brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) level induces a variety of psychiatric and neurological disorders. However, the expression and role of BDNF in the kidney have not been explored. The present study examined the expression of BDNF and tropomyosin-related kinase (Trk) receptors in an experimental model of chronic cyclosporine A (CsA) nephropathy. METHODS: Sprague-Dawley rats on a salt-deplete diet were treated daily for four weeks with vehicle or CsA. Urine profiles, apoptotic cell death, oxidative stress (8-hydroxy-2'-deoxyguanosine, 8-OHdG), and expression of BDNF and Trk receptors (TrkB and TrkC) were compared between groups. The impact of vasopressin infusion on the urine-concentrating ability was examined by measuring the expression of aquaporin-2 (AQP-2) and BDNF and urine profiles in normal and CsA-treated rats. RESULTS: Compared with the vehicle-treated rats, rats given CsA had enhanced urine volume and declined urine osmolality. Immunohistochemistry and immunoblotting showed that BDNF and Trk receptors were constitutively expressed in kidneys from vehicle-treated rats. This was confirmed by double immunofluorescent staining for Na-K-ATPase-α1, AQP-1, and AQP-2. By contrast, the expression of these factors decreased in kidneys from CsA-treated rats (BDNF: 51.1 ± 19.5% vs. 102.0 ± 30.3%, p < 0.01). Downregulation of BDNF was accompanied by impairment of urine osmolality, and this was reversed by exogenous infusion of vasopressin. Notably, the number of TUNEL-positive cells correlated negatively with BDNF expression and positively with urinary 8-OHdG excretion. CONCLUSIONS: BDNF is expressed in the collecting duct of the kidney and may be associated with urine-concentrating ability in an experimental model of chronic CsA-induced nephropathy. Our study provides a new avenue for further investigation of chronic CsA nephropathy.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: With the marked increase in the prevalence of diabetes mellitus, it was the purpose of our study to assess a potential association of time-cumulated exposure to systolic (CumSBP) and of diastolic blood pressure (CumDBP) with onset of impaired glucose tolerance and diabetes mellitus. METHODS: The prospective investigation included participants of the longitudinal Kailuan Study with three baseline examinations in 2006-2007, 2008-2009 and 2010-2011, re-examination in 2012-2013, and no diabetes mellitus at baseline. Cumulative blood pressure (BP) was calculated as cumBP = [(BP1 + BP2)/2 × time1-2] + [(BP2 + BP3)/2 × time2-3]. Based on cumSBP, the study population was stratified into four groups (cumSBP < 480mmHgxyear;n = 15,339; 480mmHgxyear ≤ cumSBP < 520mmHgxyear;n = 7214; 520mmHgxyears ≤ cumSBP < 560mmHgxyears;n = 5675; and cumSBP ≥ 560mmHgxyears;n = 10,576). RESULTS: After adjusting for demographic, anthropomorphic, biochemical, socioeconomic and lifestyle parameters and as compared with the first group, the second, third and fourth group showed a significantly higher incidence of diabetes (P-trend < 0.001;hazard ratio (HR);95% confidence interval (CI):1.28(1.08,1.51),1.54(1.29,1.84), and 2.33(1.98,2.73), respectively), higher incidence of impairment of glucose tolerance (P-trend < 0.001;HR;95% CI1.17(1.02,1.33), 1.43(1.25,1.64), and 2.09(1.85,2.37), respectively), and higher incidence of diabetes developing out of an impairment of glucose tolerance (P-trend < 0.001;HR;95% CI:1.22(0.97,1.54),1.47(1.16,1.86), and 2.01(1.62,2.50), respectively). An increase in cumSBP by 10 mmHg/year or an increase in cumDBP by 5 mmHg/year was associated with a hazard ratio of incident diabetes of 1.04 (95% CI:1.03,1.04) and 1.02(1.02,1.03), respectively, with a hazard ratio of incident impairment of glucose tolerance of 1.04(95% CI:1.03,1.04) and 1.03(95% CI:1.02,1.03), respectively, and with a hazard ratio of incident diabetes developing from impairment of glucose tolerance of 1.04(95% CI:1.03,1.04) and 1.03(95% CI:1.02,1.03), respectively. CONCLUSIONS: Time-cumulated exposure to elevated blood pressure was significantly associated with an elevated incidence of impaired glucose tolerance and diabetes.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Controversy exists as to whether early functional outcomes differ after total hip arthroplasty performed using the direct anterior approach (DAA) or the posterolateral approach (PLA). METHODS: One hundred twenty patients were enrolled in this study and were divided into 2 groups based on surgical approach. Group A included patients who had a total hip arthroplasty with a DAA, whereas group B included those with a PLA. Patients were randomized into the DAA or PLA groups (n = 60), and perioperative and postoperative outcomes were recorded. RESULTS: When compared with the PLA, the DAA had a shorter incision length (9.1 vs 13.1 cm; P < .01), shorter hospital stay (2.8 vs 3.3 days, P = .04), and lower self-reported pain. Both serum inflammatory and muscle damage markers were lower in the DAA group. However, the PLA had shorter operative times (65.5 vs 83.3 min, P = .03) and less intraoperative blood loss (123.8 vs 165.9 mL, P = .04). The DAA had significantly lower variance in cup inclination and anteversion. Similar rates of intraoperative complications were identified in the 2 groups. The DAA was associated with better functional recovery at 3 months based on the Harris hip score, University of California Los Angeles activity score, and gait analysis; however, functional recovery at 6 months was similar between the 2 groups. CONCLUSION: We found functional advantages in early recovery after the DAA compared with the PLA. The DAA can offer rapid functional recovery with less muscle damage, greater pain relief, and lower variance in cup inclination and anteversion. However, no functional difference was found at 6 months follow-up.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: To analyze the incidence of intracranial unruptured aneurysms in patients with intracranial artery stenosis, clinical features, and investigate the risk factors for unruptured intracranial aneurysms. METHODS: Medical records from all patients performed with digital subtraction angiography (DSA) who had been treated at Peking University Third Hospital,China, from January 2012 to December 2015 were retrospectively reviewed to identify cases coexistence with cerebral artery stenosis and unruptured intracranial aneurysm. RESULTS: Of 273 patients with cerebral artery stenosis (≥50%),intracranial unruptured aneurysms was observed in 17 cases (6.23%) from age of 45 to 78,among them 8 (47.06%) were female and 9 (52.94%) were male. The incidence of unruptured intracranial aneurysm in male patients was 4.17% (9/216),and that of female was 14.4% (8/57). There was statistically significant difference between the male and female incidence of intracranial aneurysm ( P<0.05). Of these 17 patients,16 (94.12%) aneurysms were located in the internal carotid artery (ICA) system,1 (5.88%) aneurysm was located at the tip of the basilar artery. In 11 cases (64.71%),aneurysms were located at the distal of the stenotic vessels,2 (11.76%) were located at the proximal of the stenotic vessels, and 4 cases (23.53%) of which the aneurysm and stenosis were not in the same artery. Logistic multivariate analysis showed that gender was an independent risk factor for aneurysms in patients with cerebral arterial stenosis. CONCLUSION: In the intracranial artery stenosis atients, the possibility of the occurrence of the aneurysm is much higher than the general population, and women were more prominent than man. Sex is an independent risk factor for aneurysms in patients with cerebral arterial stenosis.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the effectiveness and safety of endovascular treatment in solving symptomatic cerebral artery tandem lesions. METHODS: From June 2012 to February 2014, 12 cases (24 lesions) with symptomatic cerebral artery tandem lesions were accepted for the endovascular treatment. The distributions of the tandem lesions were as follows: the common carotid artery and internal carotid artery (1 case), the internal carotid artery and the proximal of the carotid cavernous sinus segment (3 cases), the internal carotid artery and the distal of the carotid cavernous sinus segment (4 cases), the intracranial segment of internal carotid artery and middle cerebral artery M1 segment (2 cases), the first segment of vertebral artery and intracranial segment of vertebral artery (2 cases). All of these cases were treated from distal lesions to proximal lesions except for tandem lesions in the internal carotid artery and the distal of the carotid cavernous sinus segment in order to obtain better support. Tandem lesions were treated in the same operation with local anesthesia or general anesthesia. The procedures of the 12 cases retrospectively were analyzed and the peri-operation complications and responsibility region recurrent ischemic stroke incidents observed. RESULTS: All tandem lesions were solved successfully all at once. There were no peri-operation complications or recurrent ischemic stroke incidents. There were no recurrent ischemic stroke incidents or stent restenosis cases in the follow-up. CONCLUSION: It is safe and effective for selective endovascular treatment in solving symptomatic cerebral artery tandem lesions at the same time, but we should take careful preoperative evaluation and improve the operation plan.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: To analyze correlation factors of hemodynamic damage after carotid artery stenting. METHODS: In this study, 66 cases (71 lesions) who undertook carotid artery stenting were collected and the correlation factors of hemodynamic damage were analyzed. RESULTS: Hemodynamic damage emerged in 23 cases (32.4%), of which, 11.3% developed hypotension. The distance between bifurcation and lesions (P=0.0020), plaque distribution (P=0.0002), plaque character (P=0.0019), post-dilation (P=0.0026) were associated with hemodynamic damage by single factor analysis. However, only eccentric plaque (P=0.0153) and calcified plaque (P=0.0097) were associated with hemodynamic damage by multiple factors analysis. All the patients could reach stable circulation by drugs during operation, and no cerebral ischemic events (transient ischemic attack or stroke) and cardiovascular ischemic events happened. CONCLUSION: The distance between bifurcation and lesions, eccentric plaques, calcified plaques are correlation factors of hemodynamic damage.

RESUMO

Seven new glycosides (1 - 7) with galloyl groups and two known kaempferol glycosides (8 and 9) were obtained from the overground parts of Balakata baccata. The structures of the new compounds were determined by comprehensive spectroscopic analyses. The rarely seen allene moiety in compounds 6 and 7 were described by detailed analysis of 1D and 2D NMR data. The antineuroinflammatory effect of all the isolates was assessed through inhibiting nitric oxide (NO) production in lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced BV-2 microglial cells. Compounds 1, 2, 6, and 7 showed potent inhibitory activities with IC50 values of 25.7, 17.2, 15.5 and 24.4 µM, respectively, compared with the positive control minocycline (IC50 = 16.1 µM).

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: To explore the development of a mind map-based predictive nursing protocol and assess its impact on the quality of images in patients undergoing high-concentration contrast three-dimensional computed tomography (CT) imaging of liver blood vessels. METHODS: A total of 600 patients who were admitted to Beijing You an Hospital were chosen for this prospective study and underwent high-concentration contrast three-dimensional CT imaging of liver blood vessels between April 2021 and December 2021. The patients were divided into two groups using the digital table method, with 300 cases. The control group received conventional nursing intervention, while the research group was provided with a mind map-based predictive nursing protocol. We recorded the image quality of three-dimensional CT imaging of liver blood vessels, satisfaction scores regarding nurse examination guidance, and the Self-Rating Anxiety Scale (SAS) and Self-Rating Depression Scale (SDS) in both groups. RESULTS: The research group achieved a perfect rate of 100.00% for the high-quality three-dimensional CT imaging of liver blood vessels, which was noticeably higher compared to the rate of the control group of 98.67%. Patients in the research group expressed higher satisfaction levels regarding the guidance provided by nurses, including their attitude, timeliness, accuracy, and overall satisfaction, compared to the control group. Initially, the two groups had no notable differences in the SAS and SDS scores. However, after the intervention, both groups experienced a significant decrease in SAS and SDS scores, with the research group showing an even more substantial decline. CONCLUSION: Through the creation of a mind map-based predictive nursing protocol and its implementation on patients undergoing high-concentration contrast three-dimensional CT imaging of liver blood vessels, it is possible to significantly enhance the quality of CT scans, alleviate feelings of anxiety and depression, increase patient satisfaction with examination guidance by nurses, and effectively decrease the occurrences of contrast agent leakage and allergic reactions to iodine.

RESUMO

Fourteen Zingiberaceae species, widely used in China for both food and medicine, were selected to evaluate and compare their antioxidant, antimicrobial and cytotoxic activities. Results indicated that seven species displayed high antioxidant activity, while eight species exhibited different degrees of antimicrobial activities (minimum inhibitory concentrations were 2.00-40.00 µg/ml), and six species exhibited cytotoxicity on the SMMC-7721 cells. Alpinia officinarum and Alpinia oxyphylla showed a broader antimicrobial spectrum, while Curcuma phaeocaulis and Zingiber officinale displayed specific inhibition on Escherichia coli. Amomum villosum showed strong radical scavenging capacity. Amomum kravanh and Curcuma longa exhibited significant cytotoxicity. Overall, the antioxidant, antimicrobial and cytotoxic activities of the 14 species showed obvious diversities. It is hoped that, from the results, the biological activity of ginger plants can be used more rationally and effectively in future.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: To explore the impact of chronic intermittent hypoxia (CIH) upon rat liver lipid metabolism and effect of anti-oxidant Tempol. METHODS: Male Wistar rats (n = 80) were randomly divided into intermittent hypoxia group (10, 20, 30, 40 times/h), intermittent hypoxia Tempol treatment group, intermittent hypoxia normal saline treatment group, intermittent air mimic group (IA) and blank control group (CG). Sections of liver were stained with hematoxylin and eosin. Serum levels of alanine aminotransferase (ALT) and aspartate aminotransferase (AST) were measured. Levels of liver homogenate triglyceride (TG), total cholesterol (TC), free fatty acids (FFA) and serum TG, TC, adiponectin (ADP) were measured. RESULTS: Liver histology: IH group exhibited hepatocellular swelling, hyperchromatosis, disrupted hepatocellular membrane. With the increase of frequency, there were local necrosis and infiltration of inflammatory cells. But no steatosis was seen. Tempol early treatment and IA groups exhibited no hepatocellular swelling or inflammatory cell infiltration. The activities of ALT and AST increased along with the increased frequency in IH group (all P < 0.01). The levels of ALT and AST in IH group ((48.6 ± 3.6), (25.4 ± 2.6) U/L) were higher than those in IA group ((20.3 ± 3.1), (18.7 ± 1.3) U/L) and CG group ((17.5 ± 2.4), (18.8 ± 1.3) U/L) (all P < 0.01). It decreased in Tempol treatment group, and more obviously when early intervention was applied (all P < 0.01). Liver homogenate TG, TC and FFA had no difference among IH, IA and CG groups (all P > 0.05), and no difference in different frequencies in IH group (all P > 0.05). The levels of serum TG, TC in IH groups were higher than those in IA and CG groups while ADP was lower (all P < 0.01). It changed more obviously in different frequencies in IH group (all P < 0.01). In Tempol treatment group, serum TG, TC decreased while ADP increased and changed more obviously when early intervention was applied (all P < 0.01). CONCLUSIONS: CIH causes the morphologic changes of liver and the elevations of ALT and AST, but results not in lipid deposition in liver cells. Anti-oxidation of Tempol can block intermittent hypoxia associated with liver injury.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: To compare clinical effects of the improved interface screw fixation of femoral end of anterior cruciate ligament with classic femoral lateral loop plate fixation. METHODS: A retrospective analysis of 65 patients who underwent arthroscopic anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction from January 2019 to September 2021 were performed. According to the different fixation methods of the femoral side, 35 patients were divided into loop plate fixation(loop plate group), including 27 males and 8 females, aged from 18 to 50 years old with an average of (35.00±7.60) years old;30 patients in interface screw fixation(interface screw group), including 20 males and 10 females, aged from 18 to 50 years old with an average of (32.00±8.50) years old. Hospital stay, hospital expenses, operation time, complications, C-reactive protein at 1, 3, 6 days after operation, and postoperative Lysholm score and International Knee Documentation Committee(IKDC) score at 18 months were compared between two groups. RESULTS: All patients were successfully operated, and obtained follow-up from 18 to 36 months with an average of (25.16±4.50) months. Anterior drawer test and Lachman test of all patients turned to negative. There were no statistical differences in hospital stay, hospital expenses and complications between two groups(P>0.05);operation time in loop plate group was (74.00±6.84) min, and (91.67±6.34) min in interface screw group, and had difference between two groups(P<0.05). C-reactive protein on the 1st and 3rd day after operation was (40.00±10.10), (20.00±8.23) mg·L-1 in loop plate group, and (60.00±8.93), (30.00±8.66) mg·L-1 in interface nail group, had statistical difference between two groups (P<0.05);while there was no difference in C-reactive protein on the 6th day after operation(P>0.05). At 18 months after operation, Lysholm and IKDC scores showed no significant difference between two groups (P>0.05). In loop plate group, medullary enlargement on coronal and sagittal views were (2.75±0.19) mm, (1.55±0.25) mm, and (2.81±0.22) mm, (1.61±0.20) mm in interface screw group, and had statistical difference between two groups(P<0.05). CONCLUSION: In the reconstruction of anterior cruciate ligament, the common interface screw on the femoral side is changed to the sheath interface screw, and intramedullary screw is changed to the compression and fixation of tendon from outside to inside of joint. Although the operation procedure is relatively complicated and operation time is slightly longer, it has advantages of no residual metal foreign body after operation, and clinical effect is no different from classical loop plate suspension fixation, which is still a good choice.

RESUMO

Picromerus lewisi Scott (Hemiptera: Pentatomidae) is a widely used natural enemy, through this study, we proved that its complete mitochondrial genome of it had similar characteristics to those of other Hemiptera. The mitogenome of P. lewisi is a circular molecule of 18,123 bp with 74.0% A + T content, containing 13 protein-coding genes (PCGs), 22 tRNAs, 2 rRNAs, and one control region. Phylogenetic tree based on 13 PCGs from 17 Panheteroptera species (two species of the Cimicomorpha are used as outgroup, 15 species belong to the Pentatomomorpha) suggested that P. lewisi has a closer relationship with E. thomsoni within Pentatomidae family.
