A
diabetes é considerada um importante problema de
saúde pública em todos os países. As
Doenças Crônicas não Transmissíveis , dentre as quais se encontra a
diabetes , podem ser gerenciadas, mas não curadas, assim, os
tratamentos vão além da redução da
morbimortalidade . O objetivo deste estudo foi
conhecer as práticas construídas sobre
autocuidado , especialmente no que diz
respeito à adesão e às escolhas terapêuticas relacionadas à
alimentação de
pessoas com
Diabetes Mellitus tipo 2 . Trata-se de uma
pesquisa do tipo exploratória, descritiva e de abordagem qualitativa. Foram incluídos no estudo indivíduos com
Diabetes Mellittus tipo 2, usuários de Unidades de
Estratégia de Saúde da Família . Para a seleção dos participantes, se utilizou a
técnica de "Bola de
Neve " e, como instrumento de
pesquisa , foram usadas entrevistas norteadas por um roteiro. Para a
análise das informações, foi utilizada a
análise temática, possibilitando a definição de três categorias principais "
Estratégias de enfrentamento e o
cotidiano do
autocuidado dos indivíduos com
Diabetes Mellitus ", "
Sentimentos e percepções despertados a partir do
diagnóstico do
Diabetes Mellitus tipo 2 " e "O lugar do
serviço de saúde no
cuidado da
Diabetes Mellitus tipo 2 ". Do ponto de vista das participantes do estudo, estas se julgam capazes de controlar a
doença , sobretudo com a
medicação e seleção de uma única fonte de
amido durante as
refeições .
Diabetes is considered an important
public health problem in every country. Chronic
noncommunicable diseases , including diabetes, can be treated but not cured, so
treatment goes beyond the reduction of
morbidity and
mortality . The scope of this study was to investigate the practices built on
self-care , especially with
respect to adherence and the
therapeutic choices related to the
nutrition of people with
Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus . This is an exploratory, descriptive study with a qualitative approach. Included in the study were individuals with
Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus who were users of the
Family Health Strategy Units. The "Snowball"
technique was used to select the participants and interviews guided by a script were used as the
research instrument. Thematic
analysis was conducted to analyze the information, allowing the definition of three principal categories "
Coping strategies and daily
self-care of
patients with
Diabetes Mellitus ", "
feelings and
perceptions aroused from the
diagnosis of
Diabetes Mellitus ", "The place of
health services in the care of
Diabetes Mellitus ". The participants feel they are able to control the
disease , especially with medication and selection of a single source of
starch in their
meals .
