RESUMO

Great progress has been made in identifying positive regulators that activate adipocyte thermogenesis, but negative regulatory signaling of thermogenesis remains poorly understood. Here, we found that cardiotrophin-like cytokine factor 1 (CLCF1) signaling led to loss of brown fat identity, which impaired thermogenic capacity. CLCF1 levels decreased during thermogenic stimulation but were considerably increased in obesity. Adipocyte-specific CLCF1 transgenic (CLCF1-ATG) mice showed impaired energy expenditure and severe cold intolerance. Elevated CLCF1 triggered whitening of brown adipose tissue by suppressing mitochondrial biogenesis. Mechanistically, CLCF1 bound and activated ciliary neurotrophic factor receptor (CNTFR) and augmented signal transducer and activator of transcription 3 (STAT3) signaling. STAT3 transcriptionally inhibited both peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor-γ coactivator (PGC) 1α and 1ß, which thereafter restrained mitochondrial biogenesis in adipocytes. Inhibition of CNTFR or STAT3 could diminish the inhibitory effects of CLCF1 on mitochondrial biogenesis and thermogenesis. As a result, CLCF1-TG mice were predisposed to develop metabolic dysfunction even without external metabolic stress. Our findings revealed a brake signal on nonshivering thermogenesis and suggested that targeting this pathway could be used to restore brown fat activity and systemic metabolic homeostasis in obesity.

Alteration of HIF-1α expression levels under hypoxic conditions affects the sequence of its downstream target genes thereby producing different effects. In order to investigate whether the effect of hypoxic compound exercise (HE) on HIF-1α expression alters cardiac pumping function, myocardial structure, and exercise capacity, we developed a suitable model of hypoxic exercise using Drosophila, a model organism, and additionally investigated the effect of hypoxic compound exercise on nocturnal sleep and activity behavior. The results showed that hypoxic compound exercise at 6% oxygen concentration for five consecutive days, lasting 1 h per day, significantly improved the cardiac stress resistance of Drosophila. The hypoxic complex exercise promoted the whole-body HIF-1α expression in Drosophila, and improved the jumping ability, climbing ability, moving speed, and moving distance. The expression of HIF-1α in the heart was increased after hypoxic exercise, which made a closer arrangement of myofilaments, an increase in the diameter of cardiac tubules, and an increase in the pumping function of the heart. The hypoxic compound exercise improved the sleep quality of Drosophila by increasing its nocturnal sleep time, the number of deep sleeps, and decreasing its nocturnal awakenings and activities. Therefore, we conclude that hypoxic compound exercise promoted the expression of HIF-1α to enhance the exercise capacity and heart pumping function of Drosophila, and improved the quality of sleep.

Rational construction of broadband and strong visible-light-absorbing (BSVLA) earth-abundant complexes is of great importance for efficient and sustainable solar energy utilization. Herein, we explore a universal Cu(I) center to couple with multiple strong visible-light-absorbing antennas to break the energy level limitations of the current noble-metal complexes, resulting in the BSVLA nonprecious complex (Cu-3). Systematic investigations demonstrate that double "ping-pong" energy-transfer processes in Cu-3 involving resonance energy transfer and Dexter mechanism enable a BSVLA between 430 and 620 nm and an antenna-localized long-lived triplet state for efficient intermolecular electron/energy transfer. Impressively, Cu-3 exhibited an outstanding performance for both energy- and electron-transfer reactions. Pseudo-first-order rate constant of photooxidation of 1,5-dihydroxynaphthalene with Cu-3 can achieve a record value of 190.8 × 10-3 min-1 among the molecular catalytic systems, over 30 times higher than that with a noble-metal photosensitizer (PS) [Ru(bpy)3]2+. These findings pave the way to develop BSVLA earth-abundant PSs for boosting photosynthesis.

Photocatalysis offers a direct, yet robust, approach to eradicate pathogenic bacteria. However, the practical implementation of photocatalytic disinfection faces a significant challenge due to low-efficiency photogenerated carrier separation and transfer. Here, we present an effective approach to improve photocatalytic disinfection performance by exploiting the pyro-phototronic effect through a synergistic combination of pyroelectric properties and photocatalytic processes. A set of comprehensive studies reveals that the temperature fluctuation-induced pyroelectric field promotes photoexcited carrier separation and transfer and thus facilitates the generation of reactive oxygen species and ultimately enhances photocatalytic disinfection performance. It is worth highlighting that the constructed film demonstrated an exceptional antibacterial efficiency exceeding 95% against pathogenic bacteria under temperature fluctuations and light irradiation. Moreover, the versatile modulation role of the pyro-phototronic effect in boosting photocatalytic disinfection was corroborated. This work paves the way for improving photocatalytic disinfection efficiency by harnessing the synergistic potential of various inherent material properties.

Bladder cancer ranks as the 10th most common cancer worldwide, with deteriorating prognosis as the disease advances. While immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) have shown promise in clinical therapy in both operable and advanced bladder cancer, identifying patients who will respond is challenging. Anoikis, a specialized form of cell death that occurs when cells detach from the extracellular matrix, is closely linked to tumor progression. Here, we aimed to explore the anoikis-based biomarkers for bladder cancer prognosis and immunotherapeutic decisions. Through consensus clustering, we categorized patients from the TCGA-BLCA cohort into two clusters based on anoikis-related genes (ARGs). Significant differences in survival outcome, clinical features, tumor immune environment (TIME), and potential ICIs response were observed between clusters. We then formulated a four-gene signature, termed "Ascore", to encapsulate this gene expression pattern. The Ascore was found to be closely associated with survival outcome and served as an independent prognosticator in both the TCGA-BLCA cohort and the IMvigor210 cohort. It also demonstrated superior predictive capacity (AUC = 0.717) for bladder cancer immunotherapy response compared to biomarkers like TMB and PD-L1. Finally, we evaluated Ascore's independent prognostic performance as a non-invasive biomarker in our clinical cohort (Gulou-Cohort1) using circulating tumor cells detection, achieving an AUC of 0.803. Another clinical cohort (Gulou-Cohort2) consisted of 40 patients undergoing neoadjuvant anti-PD-1 treatment was also examined. Immunohistochemistry of Ascore in these patients revealed its correlation with the pathological response to bladder cancer immunotherapy (P = 0.004). Impressively, Ascore (AUC = 0.913) surpassed PD-L1 (AUC = 0.662) in forecasting immunotherapy response and indicated better net benefit. In conclusion, our study introduces Ascore as a novel, robust prognostic biomarker for bladder cancer, offering a new tool for enhancing immunotherapy decisions and contributing to the tailored treatment approaches in this field.

Sighthounds, a distinctive group of hounds comprising numerous breeds, have their origins rooted in ancient artificial selection of dogs. In this study, we performed genome sequencing for 123 sighthounds, including one breed from Africa, six breeds from Europe, two breeds from Russia, and four breeds and 12 village dogs from the Middle East. We gathered public genome data of five sighthounds and 98 other dogs as well as 31 gray wolves to pinpoint the origin and genes influencing the morphology of the sighthound genome. Population genomic analysis suggested that sighthounds originated from native dogs independently and were comprehensively admixed among breeds, supporting the multiple origins hypothesis of sighthounds. An additional 67 published ancient wolf genomes were added for gene flow detection. Results showed dramatic admixture of ancient wolves in African sighthounds, even more than with modern wolves. Whole-genome scan analysis identified 17 positively selected genes (PSGs) in the African population, 27 PSGs in the European population, and 54 PSGs in the Middle Eastern population. None of the PSGs overlapped in the three populations. Pooled PSGs of the three populations were significantly enriched in "regulation of release of sequestered calcium ion into cytosol" (gene ontology: 0051279), which is related to blood circulation and heart contraction. In addition, ESR1, JAK2, ADRB1, PRKCE, and CAMK2D were under positive selection in all three selected groups. This suggests that different PSGs in the same pathway contributed to the similar phenotype of sighthounds. We identified an ESR1 mutation (chr1: g.42,177,149 T > C) in the transcription factor (TF) binding site of Stat5a and a JAK2 mutation (chr1: g.93,277,007 T > A) in the TF binding site of Sox5. Functional experiments confirmed that the ESR1 and JAK2 mutation reduced their expression. Our results provide new insights into the domestication history and genomic basis of sighthounds.

Orientation guidance has shown its cutting edges in electrodeposition modulation to promote Zn anode stability toward commercialized standards. Nevertheless, large-scale orientational deposition is handicapped by the competition between Zn-ion reduction and mass transfer. Herein, a holistic electrolyte additive protocol is put forward via incorporating bio-derived dextrin molecules into a zinc sulfate electrolyte bath. Electrochemical tests in combination with molecular dynamics simulations demonstrate the alleviation of concentration polarization throughout accelerating Zn2+ diffusion and retarding their reduction. The predominant (101) texture on inert current collectors (i.e., Cu, Ti, and stainless steel) and (101)/(002) textures on Zn foils afford homogeneous electrical field distribution, which is contributed by the work difference to form the 2D nucleus and the adsorption of dextrin molecules, respectively. Consequently, the symmetric cell harvests a longevous cycling lifespan of over 4000 h at 0.5 mA cm-2 /0.5 mAh cm-2 while the Zn@Cu electrode sustains for 240 h at a high depth of discharge of 40%.

Due to the presence of spatial barriers, persistent bacteria, and excessive inflammation in bacteria biofilm-infected wounds, current nanoplatforms cannot effectively address these issues simultaneously during the therapeutic process. Herein, a novel biomimetic photothermal nanoplatform integrating silver and polydopamine nanoparticles (Ag/PDAs) that can damage biofilms, kill bacterial persisters, and reduce inflammation for wound treatment is presented. These findings reveal that Ag/PDAs exhibit a broad-spectrum antimicrobial activity through direct damage to the bacterial membrane structure. Additionally, Ag/PDAs demonstrate a potent photothermal conversion efficiency. When combined with near-infrared (NIR) irradiation, Ag/PDAs effectively disrupt the spatial structure of biofilms and synergistically eradicate the resident bacteria. Furthermore, Ag/PDAs show remarkable anti-inflammatory properties in counteracting bacterium-induced macrophage polarization. The in vivo results confirm that the topical application of Ag/PDAs significantly suppress Staphylococcus aureus biofilm-infected wounds in murine models, concurrently facilitating wound healing. This research provides a promising avenue for the eradication of bacterial biofilms and the treatment of biofilm-infected wounds.

Supported noble metal nanocatalysts typically exhibit strong crystal plane dependent catalytic behavior, but their working mechanism is still unclear. Herein, using anatase TiO2 with well-exposed crystal facets of {101}, {100} and {001} as a prototype support, Pd- and Pt-based supported TiO2 nanocatalysts (TiO2-Pd and TiO2-Pt) were prepared by chemical reduction with NaBH4 as reducer, and they showed a distinct metal-dependent crystal facet effect in the selective hydrogenation of cinamaldehyde (CAL). For Pd-based nanocatalysts, most Pd species on the {100} plane of TiO2 are present in the oxidized form with positive charges and unexpectedly show higher reactivity than the Pd species in the zero-valence state on the {101} and {001} planes. On the contrary, Pt species on all three crystal planes of TiO2 show zero-valence state, with relatively low conversion, but much better selectivity for hydrogenation of a CO bond than Pd-based catalysts. Well-designed experiments manipulating the stability and type of surface oxygen species confirmed that the essence of the crystal facet effect of the catalyst support actually creates a unique nanoconfined interface at the molecular level to construct a surface p-band intermediate state (PBIS), which provides a new alternative channel for surface electron transfer and consequently accelerates the reaction kinetics.

OBJECTIVE: This study aimed to evaluate the differences in the accuracy of immediate intraoral, immediate extraoral, and delayed dental implant placement with surgical guides (static computer-aided implant surgery) in patients treated with mandibular reconstruction. METHODS: This was a retrospective study. The patients were divided into three groups: immediate intraoral placement (IIO), immediate extraoral placement (IEO), and delayed placement (DEL). Four variables were used to compare the planned and actual implant positions: angular deviation, three-dimensional (3D) deviation at the entry point of the implant, 3D deviation at the apical point of the implant, and depth deviation. RESULTS: The angular deviation was significantly higher in the IIO group than in the IEO (p < .05) and DEL (p < .05) groups. The 3D deviation at the entry point was significantly higher in the IIO group than in the IEO (p < .05) and DEL (p < .01) groups. The 3D deviation at the apical point was significantly higher in the IIO group than in the IEO (p < .01) and DEL (p < .01) groups. The depth deviation was significantly higher in the IIO group than in the IEO (p < .05) and DEL (p < .05) groups. There was no statistical difference between the IEO and DEL group in angular and 3D deviation. CONCLUSION: With surgical guides, among the different approaches for implant placement, delayed implant placement remains the most accurate approach for patients treated with mandibular reconstruction.

BACKGROUND: Continuous and noninvasive hemoglobin (Hb) monitoring during surgery is essential for anesthesiologists to make transfusions decisions. The aim of this study was to investigate the feasibility and accuracy of noninvasive and continuous Hb monitoring using transesophageal descending aortic photoplethysmography (dPPG) in porcine model. METHODS: Nineteen landrace pigs, aged 3 to 5 months and weighing 30 to 50 kg, were enrolled in this study. A homemade oximetry sensor, including red (660 nm) and infrared (940 nm) lights, was placed in the esophagus for dPPG signal detection to pair with the corresponding reference Hb values (Hbi-STAT) measured by blood gas analysis. The decrease and increase changes in Hb concentration were achieved by hemodilution and transfusion. Metrics, including alternating current (AC), direct current (DC), and AC/DC for both red and infrared light were extracted from the dPPG signal. A receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve was built to evaluate the performance of dPPG metrics in predicting the Hb "trigger threshold" of transfusion (Hb < 60 g/L and Hb > 100 g/L). Agreement and trending ability between Hb measured by dPPG (HbdPPG) and by blood gas analysis were analyzed by Bland-Altman method and polar plot graph. Error grid analysis was also performed to evaluate clinical significance of HbdPPG measurement. RESULTS: The dPPG signal was successfully detected in all of the enrolled experimental pigs, without the occurrence of a continuous loss of dPPG signal for 2 min during the entire measurement. A total of 376 pairs of dPPG signal and Hbi-STAT were acquired. ACred/DCred and ACinf/DCinf had moderate correlations with Hbi-STAT, and the correlation coefficients were 0.790 and 0.782, respectively. The areas under the ROC curve for ACred/DCred and ACinf/DCinf in predicting Hbi-STAT < 60 g/L were 0.85 and 0.75, in predicting Hbi-STAT > 100 g/L were 0.90 and 0.83, respectively. Bland-Altman analysis and polar plot showed a small bias (1.69 g/L) but a wide limit of agreement (-26.02-29.40 g/L) and a poor trend ability between HbdPPG and Hbi-STAT. Clinical significance analysis showed that 82% of the data lay within the Zone A, 18% within the Zone B, and 0% within the Zone C. CONCLUSION: It is feasible to establish a noninvasive and continuous Hb monitoring by transesophageal dPPG signal. The ACred/DCred extracted from the dPPG signal could provide a sensitive prediction of the Hb threshold for transfusion. The Hb concentration measured by dPPG signal has a moderate correlation with that measured by blood gas analysis. This animal study may provide an experimental basis for the development of bedside HbdPPG monitoring in the future.

Polyethylene (PE) is the most productive plastic product and includes three major polymers including high-density polyethylene (HDPE), linear low-density polyethylene (LLDPE) and low-density polyethylene (LDPE) variation in the PE depends on the branching of the polymer chain and its crystallinity. Tenebrio obscurus and Tenebrio molitor larvae biodegrade PE. We subsequently tested larval physiology, gut microbiome, oxidative stress, and PE degradation capability and degradation products under high-purity HDPE, LLDPE, and LDPE powders (<300 µm) diets for 21 days at 65 ± 5% humidity and 25 ± 0.5 °C. Our results demonstrated the specific PE consumption rates by T. molitor was 8.04-8.73 mg PE ∙ 100 larvae-1⋅day-1 and by T. obscurus was 7.68-9.31 for LDPE, LLDPE and HDPE, respectively. The larvae digested nearly 40% of the ingested three PE and showed similar survival rates and weight changes but their fat content decreased by 30-50% over 21-day period. All the PE-fed groups exhibited adverse effects, such as increased benzoquinone concentrations, intestinal tissue damage and elevated oxidative stress indicators, compared with bran-fed control. In the current study, the digestive tract or gut microbiome exhibited a high level of adaptability to PE exposure, altering the width of the gut microbial ecological niche and community diversity, revealing notable correlations between Tenebrio species and the physical and chemical properties (PCPs) of PE-MPs, with the gut microbiome and molecular weight change due to biodegradation. An ecotoxicological simulation by T.E.S.T. confirmed that PE degradation products were little ecotoxic to Daphnia magna and Rattus norvegicus providing important novel insights for future investigations into the environmentally-friendly approach of insect-mediated biodegradation of persistent plastics.

Uncontrolled gluconeogenesis results in elevated hepatic glucose production in type 2 diabetes (T2D). The small ubiquitin-related modifier (SUMO)-specific protease 2 (SENP2) is known to catalyze deSUMOylation of target proteins, with broad effects on cell growth, signal transduction, and developmental processes. However, the role of SENP2 in hepatic gluconeogenesis and the occurrence of T2D remain unknown. Herein, we established SENP2 hepatic knockout mice and found that SENP2 deficiency could protect against high-fat diet-induced hyperglycemia. Pyruvate- or glucagon-induced elevation in blood glucose was attenuated by disruption of SENP2 expression, whereas overexpression of SENP2 in the liver facilitated high-fat diet-induced hyperglycemia. Using an in vitro assay, we showed that SENP2 regulated hepatic glucose production. Mechanistically, the effects of SENP2 on gluconeogenesis were found to be mediated by the cellular fuel sensor kinase, 5'-AMP-activated protein kinase alpha (AMPKα), which is a negative regulator of gluconeogenesis. SENP2 interacted with and deSUMOylated AMPKα, thereby promoting its ubiquitination and reducing its protein stability. Inhibition of AMPKα kinase activity dramatically reversed impaired hepatic gluconeogenesis and reduced blood glucose levels in SENP2-deficient mice. Our study highlights the novel role of hepatic SENP2 in regulating gluconeogenesis and furthers our understanding of the pathogenesis of T2D.

By modifying the interconnection design between standard single-mode fiber (SSMF) and nested antiresonant nodeless type hollow-core fiber (NANF), we create an air gap between SSMF and NANF. This air gap enables the insertion of optical elements, thus providing additional functions. We show low-loss coupling using various graded-index multimode fibers acting as mode-field adapters resulting in different air-gap distances. Finally, we test the gap functionality by inserting a thin glass sheet in the air gap, which forms a Fabry-Perot interferometer and works as a filter with an overall insertion loss of only 0.31 dB.

Optical fibers with a low thermal coefficient of delay (TCD) have been developed for frequency and timing transmission/distribution. However, their temperature sensitivity changes as a function of temperature and, to date, no study of such fibers has demonstrated improved performance over extended temperature ranges, especially at sub-zero temperatures. Here, we show that a hollow core fiber (HCF) with a thin acrylate coating can have a TCD within ±2.0 ps/km/°C over a broad temperature range from -150°C to +60°C. In addition, this thinly coated HCF can be fully insensitive to temperature around -134°C, making it of interest, e.g., for laser stabilization close to cryogenic temperatures.

Although mesoporous silica nanoparticles (MSNs) have been intensively investigated, their mesostructure and formation mechanism are still a topic of debate. Here, we show that MSNS are generated at the interface of the biphasic water-surfactant-triethanolamine-tetraalkoxysilane (TAOS) quaternary system. The spontaneous microemulsification of the hydrophobic TAOS generates microdroplets and direct micelles that both determine the particle size and the pore size. We confirmed also that the dendritic morphology with conical pores is an intermediate species, which readily transforms into regular MSNs concomitantly with the collapse of the microemulsion due to the continuous consumption of TAOS. The prominent effect of the microemulsion on the mechanism growth as a primary template is thoroughly investigated and named here tetraalkoxysilane-assisted self-emulsification templating.

Tenebrio molitor and Tenebrio obscurus (Coleoptera: Tenebrionidae) larvae are two commercial insects that eat plant and crop residues as diets and also biodegrade synthetic plastics polyethylene (PE). We examined biodegradation of low-density PE (LDPE) foam (Mn = 28.9 kDa and Mw = 342.0 kDa) with and without respective co-diets, i.e., wheat brain (WB) or corn flour (CF), corn straw (CS), and rice straw (RS) at 4:1 (w/w), and their gut microbiome and genetic metabolic functional groups at 27.0 ± 0.5 °C after 28 days of incubation. The presence of co-diets enhanced LDPE consumption in both larvae and broad-depolymerized the ingested LDPE. The diet type shaped gut microbial diversity, potential pathways, and metabolic functions. The sequence of effectiveness of co-diets was WB or CF > CS > RS for larval development and LDPE degradation. Co-occurrence networks indicated that the larvae co-fed with LDPE displayed more complex correlations of gut microbiome than the larvae fed with single diets. The primary diet of WB or CF and crop residues CS and RS provided energy and nitrogen source to significantly enhance LDPE biodegradation with synergistic activities of the gut microbiota. For the larvae fed LDPE and LDPE plus co-diets, nitrogen fixation function was stimulated compared to normal diets and associated with LDPE biodegradation.

Ginsenoside 3ß,12ß,21α,22ß-Hydroxy-24-norolean-12-ene (G-M6), a phase I metabolite of anti-tumor medication 20(R)-25-methoxyl-dammarane-3ß,12ß,20-triol (AD-1), beats the parent drug in anti-ovarian cancer efficacy. The mechanism of action for ovarian cancer, however, is uncertain. Using network pharmacology, human ovarian cancer cells and nude mouse ovarian cancer xenotransplantation model, the anti-ovarian cancer mechanism of G-M6 was preliminarily explored in this study. The PPAR signal pathway is the key signal pathway of the G-M6 anti-ovarian cancer mechanism, according to data mining and network analysis. Docking tests demonstrated that the bioactive chemical G-M6 was capable of forming a stable bond with the PPARγ target protein capsule. Using human ovarian cancer cells and xenograft model of ovarian cancer to evaluate the anticancer activity of G-M6. The IC50 value of G-M6 was 5.83±0.36, lower than AD-1 and Gemcitabine. The tumor weight of the RSG 80 mg/kg group (C), G-M6 80 mg/kg group (I), and RSG 80 mg/kg + G-M6 80 mg/kg group (J) after the intervention was as follows: C < I < J. The tumor inhibition rates of groups C, I, and J were 28.6%, 88.7%, and 92.6%, respectively. When RSG and G-M6 are combined to treat ovarian cancer, q = 1.00 is calculated according to King's formula, which indicates that RSG and G-M6 have additive effects. Its molecular mechanism may involve the up-regulation of PPARγ and Bcl-2 protein expressions, and the down-regulation of Bax, Cytochrome C (Cyt. C), Caspase-3, and Caspase-9 protein expressions. These findings serve as a reference for further research into the processes behind ginsenoside G-M6's ovarian cancer therapy.

OBJECTIVE: Frailty is a marker of physiologic decline within multiple organ systems. The Tilburg Frailty Indicator (TFI) is an instrument for assessing frailty. We evaluated the ability of the TFI to predict the quality of post-operative recovery in patients with gynecologic cancer and explored the associations between frailty, post-operative complications, and length of stay. METHODS: We conducted a prospective cohort study of patients scheduled for radical gynecologic cancer surgery between May 2021 and January 2022, and defined a TFI score ≥5 as 'frailty'. Our primary outcome was the post-operative quality of recovery based on the Quality of Recovery-15 (QoR-15), and the secondary outcomes were post-operative complications and length of stay. Multiple logistic regression was used to examine the relationship between frailty and outcomes. We developed receiver operating characteristics (ROCs) and assessed areas under the ROC curves (AUCs) to explore the ability of frailty to predict the quality of post-operative recovery. RESULTS: A total of 169 patients were included. The prevalence of frailty using the TFI was 47.9% in this cohort. In the multivariate regression analysis, frailty emerged as a significant predictor of the 3-day QoR-15 score (aOR 11.69, 95% CI 4.26 to 32.08; p˂0.001) and complications (aOR 10.05, 95% CI 1.66 to 60.72; p=0.012). Frailty was not associated with length of stay (aOR 2.12, 95% CI 0.87 to 5.16; p=0.099). The combination of the TFI, American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) classification, and types of cancer resulted in an increase in the AUC compared with the TFI alone (AUC 0.796, 95% CI 0.727 to 0.865; p˂0.05). CONCLUSIONS: The use of the TFI may assist surgeons in estimating the risk with respect to post-operative quality of recovery and complications in patients with gynecologic cancer. Combining the TFI with ASA classification and cancer type is expected to improve the predictive ability of poor quality of recovery.
