RESUMO

AIMS: To survey the types of Electronic Nursing Records used and to explore nurses' perceptions in the hospitals in Henan Province, China. BACKGROUND: There are few studies about status of electronic nursing documents from nurses' view. METHOD: A cross-sectional study of 3,586 nurses using a web-based questionnaire was conducted. RESULTS: Approximately 98% of the nurses were college graduates or had higher degrees, with 46% of the nurses managed more than nine beds per nurse each day. About 27% spent more than two hours daily writing records with a further 38% spending between 1 and 2 hr. However, only 52% realized professional nursing records should be archived and fewer than 80% knew the importance and significance of preserving fundamental nursing records. CONCLUSION: Although nurses' educational level in Henan is high, the younger age of them (i.e., less experience) and heavy workload may lead to inferior quality of ENR. Nurses' awareness of the importance and legal significance of documents needs improvement. IMPLICATION FOR NURSING MANAGEMENT: Our results may provide detailed evidence of the time consuming as well as nurses' knowledge of, abilities in, and opinions about record-keeping in developed countries and bring potential clinical implications for the nursing managers worldwide.

RESUMO

Resistance conferred by the Mi-1 gene from Solanum peruvianum is effective and widely used for controlling root-knot nematodes (RKNs, Meloidogyne spp.). However, breakdown of resistance by RKNs seriously threatens the durable application of the resistance resource. Here, a resistance-breaking population of M. incognita was selected from an avirulent population by continuously inoculating on Mi-1-carrying tomato. Histological observations showed the resistance-breaking population would not induce hypersensitive response (HR) when infecting Mi-1-carrying tomato, while avirulent population did. A total of 308 differentially expressed genes (DEGs) were identified from Mi-1-carrying tomato upon infection with resistance-breaking versus avirulent populations by RNA-seq. The expression patterns of 23 selected DEGs were validated by quantitative real-time PCR (qRT-PCR). Subsequently, seven out of nine highly up-regulated DEGs were successfully knocked down in Mi-1-carrying tomato by tobacco rattle virus (TRV) mediated RNAi. The TRV line targeting a peroxidase gene showed a much higher magnitude of reactive oxygen species (ROS) and distinct reduction of pathogenicity upon infection of the resistance-breaking population compared with that of TRV::gfp line. Our results suggested that plant peroxidase might be exploited by resistance-breaking population of M. incognita to scavenge ROS, so as to overcome Mi-1-mediated resistance.

RESUMO

Background: The functions of the ELOVLs are mainly involved in the elongation of saturated and polyunsaturated fatty acids, thus influencing the metabolism of fatty acids. Abnormal lipid metabolism may result in NAFLD and NASH, which may lead to cirrhosis and liver cancer. These results suggest that ELOVLs-mediated metabolism might be involved in the development of HCC. The purpose of this study was to study the expression and function of ELOVL1 in human liver cancer. Method: Using TCGA, GEPIA and other databases, we analyzed the relationship between the expression of ELOVL1 and liver cancer. The expression of ELOVL1 was detected by immunohistochemical method and Western blot method in hepatic carcinoma and hepatic carcinoma cells. Then, the effects of ELOVL1 on proliferation, apoptosis and invasion in vitro and in vivo were investigated by means of different methods. Result: Our results indicate that ELOVL1 is more highly expressed in liver cancer than in normal tissues. Survival analysis showed that OS and DSS were shorter in patients with high ELOVL1 expression than in those with low expression. Multivariate Cox analysis further demonstrated that over-expression of ELOVL1 was an independent risk factor for overall survival in HCC. The results of ROC also confirmed the value of ELOVL1 in the diagnosis of liver cancer. The results of KEGG enrichment and GSEA indicate that ELOVL1 is associated with lipid metabolism and NAFLD, as well as PPAR, PI3K-AKT-mTOR. Compared with the control group, it was found that silencing ELOVL1 in Huh7 and HepG2 cells could inhibit the growth of cells, promote the apoptosis and decrease the metastasis and invasion. Changes in ELOVL1 induced cell proliferation and metastasis may be related to PI3K/AKT/mTOR. Low expression of ELOVL1 inhibited the growth of xenograft tumors in hepatocellular carcinoma xenograft model. Conclusion: Our data indicate that the activation of PI3K/AKT/mTOR pathway in HCC may contribute to the promotion of cancer. Thus, ELOVL1 may be a promising therapeutic target for HCC.

RESUMO

On account of the intralayer and interlayer heterogeneity, high temperature (110 °C), and high salinity (224,919 mg/L) of Tahe channel sand reservoir, single profile control or chemical flooding cannot greatly enhanced oil recovery. The goal of the current research was to optimize a polymer gel formula that was suitable for high-temperature and high-salinity reservoirs, screen an appropriate chemical flooding method, and determine the efficiency of the combination of profile control and chemical flooding. Experimental results indicated that the formed polymer gel could maintain relatively high strength after aging for 30 days. Moreover, the combination of profile control and surfactant flooding could result in an enhanced oil recovery of 17.9%, and the combination of profile control and foam flooding could result in an enhanced oil recovery of 23.0%, which was ascribed to the improvement of sweeping efficiency and displacement efficiency. All the results indicated that the formed polymer gel and the combination of profile control and chemical flooding have great application potential in Tahe high-temperature and high-salinity channel sand reservoir.

RESUMO

The soft magnetic properties of Fe-based nanocrystalline alloys are determined by their grain size. In the present article, the (Fe0.4Co0.6)79Nb3B18 nanocrystalline alloys have been successfully prepared by isothermal annealing. The variation of soft magnetic properties as a function of annealing temperature and incubation time is investigated in detail. Two distinct crystallization behaviors were found for the (Fe0.4Co0.6)79Nb3B18 alloys. The initial nanocrystallization products comprise a mixture of α-Fe(Co), Fe2B, and Fe23B6-type crystalline metastable phases, and the final crystallization products are composed of α-Fe(Co), Fe2B, and Fe3B crystalline phases. The grain size decreases first and then increases with the increasing annealing temperature in the range of 764⁻1151 K, and a fine grain size with mean grain size of 12.7 nm can be achieved for alloys annealed at 880 K. As the annealing temperature increases from 764 K to 1151 K, the saturation magnetization increases first and then decreases without a significant increase of the coercivity. The alloys annealed at 880 K exhibit the optimized soft magnetic properties with high Ms of 145 emu g-1 and low Hc of 0.04 Oe.

RESUMO

Grid-connected inverters with LCL filters need high steady-state control accuracy, fast dynamic response performance, and strong robustness to guarantee the power quality. However, there are many problems in traditional control strategies that restrict improvements to control system performance, such as poor dynamic performance of traditional single-repetitive control, large ripples, low steady-state accuracy of inverter current feedback based repetitive dual-loop control or grid-current feedback based single-loop proportional-integral control. In this paper, a novel dual closed-loop repetitive control strategy based on grid current feedback is proposed for single-phase grid-connected inverters with LCL filters. The proportional-integral inner loop is stabilized by using an inherent one-beat delay achieved by digital controller. Based on the inner loop system, a detailed design scheme of a repetitive controller is presented, through which direct control of the grid current is realized, the reference is tracked perfectly to a zero phase shift, and high-attenuation gain is achieved in the high frequency range. In particular, the gird-voltage feed forward control and current reference feedforward control are adopted to suppress grid-voltage disturbance and increase dynamic tracking performance. Finally, the simulation and experimental results show that the proposed method has the advantages of high steady-state accuracy, fast dynamic response, and anti-disturbance ability.

RESUMO

Cystatin C is a 13kDa non-glycosylated basic protein belonging to cystatin family. It is consistently and dramatically upregulated in a variety of fibrotic diseases. The aim of this study was to compare cystatin C expression in normal human buccal mucosa and oral submucous fibrosis (OSF) specimens and further explore the potential mechanism that may lead to induction of cystatin C expression. Twenty-five OSF specimens and six of normal buccal mucosa were examined by immunohistochemistry. The activity of cystatin C from fibroblasts cultured from OSF and normal buccal mucosa were evaluated by using reverse-transcriptase polymerase chain reaction and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. Furthermore, the effect of arecoline, the major areca nut alkaloid, was explored. Cystatin C expression was significantly higher in OSF specimens (p<0.05) and expressed mainly by fibroblasts, endothelial cells, and inflammatory cells. OSF demonstrated significantly higher cystatin C expression than normal buccal mucosa fibroblasts both in mRNA and protein levels (p<0.05). In addition, arecoline was also found to elevate cystatin C mRNA and protein expression in a dose-dependent manner (p<0.05). Taken together, the data demonstrate that cystatin C expression is significantly upregulated in OSF from areca quid chewers and arecoline may be responsible for the enhanced cystatin C expression in vivo.

RESUMO

Tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum Miller) fruit discs fed with [2, 3-14C]1-aminocyclopropane-1-carboxylic acid (ACC) formed 1-malonyl-ACC (MACC) as the major conjugate of ACC in fruit throughout all ripening stages, from immature-green through the red-ripe stage. Another conjugate of ACC, gamma-glutamyl-ACC (GACC), was formed only in mature-green fruit in an amount about 10% of that of MACC; conjugation of ACC into GACC was not detected in fruits at other ripening stages. No GACC formation was observed from etiolated mung bean (Vigna radiata [L.] Wilczek) hypocotyls, etiolated common vetch (Vicia sativum L.) epicotyls, or pea (Pisum sativum L.) root tips, etiolated epicotyls, and green stem tissue, where active conversion of ACC into MACC was observed. GACC was, however, formed in vitro in extracts from fruit of all ripening stages. GACC formation in an extract from red fruit at pH 7.15 was only about 3% of that at pH 8.0, the pH at which most assays were run. Our present in vivo data support the previous contention that MACC is the major conjugate of ACC in plant tissues, whereas GACC is a minor, if any, conjugate of ACC. Thus, our data do not support the proposal that GACC formation could be more important than MACC formation in tomato fruit.
