The anti-solvent-free fabrication of high-efficiency perovskite solar cells (PSCs) holds immense significance for the transition from laboratory-scale to large-scale commercial applications. However, the device performance is severely hindered by the increased occurrence of surface defects resulting from the lack of control over nucleation and crystallization of perovskite using anti-solvent methods. In this study, 2-(naphthalen-2-yl)ethylamine hydriodide (NEAI) is employed as the surface passivator for perovskite films without using any anti-solvent. Naphthalene demonstrates strong π-π conjugation, which aids in the efficient extraction of charge carriers. Additionally, the naphthalene-ring moieties form a tight attachment to the perovskite surface. After NEAI treatment, FA and I vacancies are selectively occupied by NEA+ and I- in NEAI respectively, thus effectively passivating the surface defects and isolating the surface from moisture. Ultimately, the optimized NEAI-treated device achieves a promising power conversion efficiency (PCE) of 24.19% (with a certified efficiency of 23.94%), featuring a high fill factor of 83.53%. It stands out as one of the reported high PCEs achieved for PSCs using the spin-coating technique without the need for any anti-solvent so far. Furthermore, the NEAI-treated device can maintain ≈87% of its initial PCE after 2000 h in ambient air with a relative humidity of 30% ± 5%.

As a by-product of the steelmaking industry, the large-volume production and accumulation of steel converter slag cause environmental issues such as land occupation and dust pollution. Since metal salts of unsaturated carboxylic acid can be used to reinforce rubber, this study explores the innovative application of in-situ modified steel slag, mainly comprising metal oxides, with methacrylic acid (MAA) as a rubber filler partially replacing carbon black. By etching the surface of steel slag particles with MAA, their surface roughness was increased, and the chemical bonding of metal methacrylate salt was introduced to enhance their interaction with the molecular chain of natural rubber (NR). The results showed that using the steel slag filler effectively shortened the vulcanization molding cycle of NR composites. The MAA in-situ modification effectively improved the interaction between steel slag and NR molecular chains. Meanwhile, the physical and mechanical properties, fatigue properties, and dynamic mechanical properties of the experimental group with MAA in-situ modified steel slag (MAA-in-situ-m-SS) were significantly enhanced compared with those of NR composites partially filled with unmodified slag. With the dosage of 7.5 phr or 10 phr, the above properties matched or even exceeded those of NR composites purely filled with carbon black. More importantly, partially replacing carbon black with modified steel slag reduced fossil fuel consumption and greenhouse gas emission from carbon black production. This study pioneered an effective path for the resourceful utilization of steel slag and the green development of the steelmaking and rubber industries.

STUDY OBJECTIVE: We compared the analgesic effects of erector spinae plane block versus quadratus lumborum block following laparoscopic nephrectomy. DESIGN: A randomized controlled trial. SETTING: A tertiary hospital in Beijing, China. PATIENTS: Patients scheduled for elective laparoscopic nephrectomy. INTERVENTIONS: A total of 110 patients were enrolled and randomized to receive either erector spinae plane block (n = 55) or quadratus lumborum block (n = 55) under ultrasound guidance. Patient-controlled sufentanil analgesia was provided after surgery. MEASUREMENTS: Our primary outcome was cumulative opioid consumption within 24 h after surgery. Secondary outcomes included postoperative pain intensity, subjective sleep quality, and quality of recovery. MAIN RESULTS: All 110 patients (mean 53 years, 57.3% female) were included in the intention-to-treat analysis. Cumulative sufentanil equivalent within 24 h was lower in patients given erector spinae plane block (median 13 µg, interquartile range 4 to 33) than in those given quadratus lumborum block (median 25 µg, interquartile range 13 to 39; median difference - 8 µg, 95% CI -15 to 0, P = 0.041). Pain intensity (0-10 range where 0 = no pain and 10 = the worst pain) at 2, 6, 12, and 24 h after surgery was lower with erector spinae plane block (at rest: median differences -1 point, all P ≤ 0.009; with movement: median differences -2 to -1 points, all P < 0.001). Subjective sleep quality on the night of surgery (the Richards-Campbell Sleep Questionnaire: 0-100 range, higher score better; median difference 12, 95% CI 2 to 23, P = 0.018) and quality of recovery at 24 h (the Quality of Recovery-15: 0-150 range, higher score better; median difference 8, 95% CI 2 to 15, P = 0.012) were better with erector spinae plane block. No procedure-related adverse events occurred. CONCLUSIONS: Compared with quadratus lumborum block, erector spinae plane block provided better analgesia as manifested by lower opioid consumption and pain intensity for up to 24 h after laparoscopic nephrectomy.

Phosphorus is a critical factor in the control of eutrophication. We developed a three-dimensional porous, bimetallic-modified adsorbent La-Ca-CS/ATP to remove excess phosphate from water. Langmuir model showed that the theoretical adsorption capacity of La-Ca-CS/ATP was up to 123 mg P/g. The amount of La and Ca leached by La-Ca-CS/ATP was small, and the adsorption of 36.08 mg P/g was maintained during the five cycles of La-Ca-CS/ATP. The La-Ca-CS/ATP adsorption mechanism mainly involved surface precipitation, ligand exchange, electrostatic attraction, and inner-sphere complexation. Molecular dynamics demonstrated that La and Ca had complementary effects on binding sites and energy barriers within the range of 0.5-0.7 nm and 1.2-2 nm, enhancing the adsorption effect of La-Ca-CS/ATP. The life cycle assessment results showed that adding calcium could help reduce the environmental impact of lanthanum and chitosan. The production of La-Ca-CS/ATP adsorbed 73.88 P mg/g and emitted 24.73 kg CO2 eq, which was less than other adsorbents.

BACKGROUND: Over the past 3 decades, clinicians and scholars have used and studied the stellate ganglion block (SGB) extensively, making this field a highly anticipated research hot spot. To the best of our knowledge, there has been no bibliometric analysis of the SGB until now. OBJECTIVE: Our study aimed to complete multiple tasks regarding SGB research: identify the collaboration and impact of countries, institutions, journals, and authors, evaluate the knowledge base, trace the trends in hot spots, and explore the emerging topics relevant to the field. STUDY DESIGN: A bibliometric analysis. METHODS: Publications that were associated with the SGB and published between the years of 1993 and 2022 were retrieved from the Web of Science Core Collection on September 21st, 2023. CiteSpace 6.1.R6 and VOSviewer 1.6.18 were used to perform bibliometric and knowledge-map analyses. RESULTS: This study found a total of 837 publications originating from 51 countries and 1006 institutions. These articles were published in 393 journals. The United States was the country that produced the most articles focused on SGB, and the University of California, Los Angeles was the institution associated with the greatest number of publications. The anesthesiology and cardiology journals surveyed for this study published the most articles and received the most citations. Among the authors whose works were examined, Kitajima T had the greatest number of published articles, and Lipov E was the most frequently cited co-author. Five main domains of SGB research included electrical storm and refractory ventricular arrhythmia, breast cancer and climacteric medicine, post-traumatic stress disorder, pain management, and cerebrovascular diseases. The latest hot topics involving this field focused on SGB's anti-arrhythmic and anti-cerebral vasospasm effects and its treatment of long COVID syndrome. LIMITATIONS: Data were retrieved only from the WoSCC; therefore, publications in other databases might have been missed. CONCLUSION: This comprehensive bibliometric analysis conducted a complete overview of SGB research, which was helpful in furthering our understanding of research trends and locating research hot spots and gaps in this domain. This field is developing rapidly and will garner significant and continuous attention from future scholars.

Background: Circular RNAs (circRNAs) are a large class of RNAs present in mammals. Among these, circCamsap1 is a well-acknowledged circRNA with significant implications, particularly in the development and progression of diverse tumors. However, the potential consequences of circCamsap1 depletion in vivo on male reproduction are yet to be thoroughly investigated. Methods: The presence of circCamsap1 in the mouse testes was confirmed, and gene expression analysis was performed using reverse transcription quantitative polymerase chain reaction. CircCamsap1 knockout mice were generated utilizing the CRISPR/Cas9 system. Phenotypic analysis of both the testes and epididymis was conducted using histological and immunofluorescence staining. Additionally, fertility and sperm motility were assessed. Results: Here, we successfully established a circCamsap1 knockout mouse model without affecting the expression of parental gene. Surprisingly, male mice lacking circCamsap1 (circCamsap1-/-) exhibited normal fertility, with no discernible differences in testicular and epididymal histology, spermatogenesis, sperm counts or sperm motility compared to circCamsap1+/+ mice. These findings suggest that circCamsap1 may not play an essential role in physiological spermatogenesis. Nonetheless, this result also underscores the complexity of circRNA function in male reproductive biology. Therefore, further research is necessary to elucidate the precise roles of other circRNAs in regulating male fertility.

Hydrochar is considered to be a good adsorbent for the separation of metal ions from aqueous solutions. However, the yield of hydrochar from raw straw is generally low, because the hydrothermal carbonization occurs via dehydration, polymerization, and carbonization. In this work, various hydrochar samples were prepared from rice straw with nitrogen and phosphorus salt; moreover, toilet sewage was used instead of nitrogen, and phosphorus salt and water were used to promote the polymerization and carbonization process. The modified carbon was characterized using XRD, XPS, SEM, and FTIR, and the adsorption capacity was investigated. A significant increase in hydrochar yield was observed when toilet sewage was used as the solvent in the hydrothermal carbonization process. The adsorption capacity of N/P-doped rice straw hydrochar for Cd2+ and Zn2+ metal ions was 1.1-1.4 times higher than that those using the rice straw hydrochar. The Langmuir models and pseudo-second-order models described the metal adsorption processes in both the single and binary-metal systems well. The characterization results showed the contribution of the surface complexation, the electrostatic interaction, the hydrogen bond, and the ion exchange to the extraction of Cd2+ and Zn2+ using N/P-doped rice straw hydrochar.

Purpose: To determine the 90 percent effective dose (ED90) of intrathecal sufentanil combined with ropivacaine 2.5 mg for labor analgesia and observe its safety for parturients and neonates. Methods: We conducted a prospective, double-blind, biased coin up-and-down study. We injected a fixed 2.5 mg ropivacaine combined with a designated dose of sufentanil intrathecally to observe the labor analgesic effect. The initial dose of sufentanil was assigned 1.0 µg, and the remaining doses were assigned as per the biased coin up-and-down method. The criterion of successful response was defined as VAS ≤ 30 mm after intrathecal injection at 10 min. Safety was evaluated in terms of maternal and neonatal outcomes. Results: The ED90 dose of intrathecal sufentanil combined with ropivacaine 2.5 mg (0.1%, 2.5 mL) was 2.61 µg (95% CI, 2.44 to 2.70 µg) by isotonic regression. No respiratory depression, hypotension, or motor block was observed. Thirty-one (77.5%) parturients complained of pruritus, and 14 (35.0%) suffered nausea and vomiting. Three neonates reported a 1 min Apgar score of ≤7, and none reported a 5 min Apgar score of ≤7. Conclusion: The ED90 of intrathecal sufentanil combined with ropivacaine 2.5 mg for labor analgesia was 2.61 µg. The dose is safe for parturients and neonates.
