[Combined autoalloplasty of the Achilles tendon]. / Kombinirovannaia autoalloplastika Akhillova sukhozhiliia.

A method of combined alloplasty of old injuries of the Achilles tendon is described. The method is based on the use of the allogenic Achilles tendon and autotransplant cut from the tendinous strained musculus gastrocnemius. Operations were performed in 22 patients. The results were good in all the cases. This method is recommended for the treatment of fresh and old ruptures of the Achilles tendon with a big diastasis between its ends.

[Treatment of suppurative coxitis]. / Lechenie gnoinogo koksita.

An experience with the treatment of purulent coxitis in 56 patients is described. Acute coxitis was treated by arthrotomy, sequestrectomy and antibacterial therapy. Chronic forms of osteoarthritis consisted in the surgical treatment of the purulent focus and filling the cotyloid cavity with a muscular flap or the proximal end of the femoral bone.

[Treatment of Achilles tendon injuries in athletes]. / Lechenie povrezhdenii akhillova sukhozhiliia u sportsmenov.

165 athletes with injuries to the Achilles tendon were under observation of the authors; 4 of them had sustained open traumas and 161 -- subcutanous ones. Surgical intervention was the main method of treatment. The G. D. Nikitin's method of autoplasty is indicated in fresh injuries, a combined autoalloplasty, according to the authors' method, -- in old ones. Late results were followed up in 141 patients, all of them showed good outcome. Primary surgical treatment of the wound and suture of the Achilles tendon are indicated in open injuries to the Achilles tendon.

[Allotendoplasty in Achilles tendon injuries]. / Allotendoplastika pri povrezhdeniiakh akhillova sukhozhiliia.

Experimental studies and clinical observations over allotendoplasty were carried out. A new method of the combined autoloplasty of old ruptures of the Achilles tendon was developed and carried out upon 13 patients. Allotendoplasty was applied upon 31 cases of injuries to the Achilles tendon. Late results were followed up in 30 patients; in 29 out of them a complete functional restoration of the injuried extremity was obtained. Clinical and experimental data allow to recommend banked allografts for the use in reconstructive surgery.

[Causes of subcutaneous tendon rupture in athletes]. / O prichinakh podkozhnykh razryvov sukhozhilii u sportsmenov.

Causes of subcutaneous injuries of the Achilles tendon (in 162 patients), of the long head of musculus biceps brachii (in 33 patients), distal tendon of musculus biceps brachii (in 4 patients) and tendon of musculus quadriceps femoris (in 3 patients) were analyzed. Macro- and microscopic structures of the lacerated ends were also studied. The authors make a conclusion that tenorupture is always proceeded by microtrauma.

[Adipose tissue repair of the bone cavities in treating chronic osteomyelitis]. / Zirovaia plastika kostnykh polostei pri lechenii khronicheskogo osteomielita.

The substitution of osseous cavities by fat pedicle flaps was performed in 29 patients with chronic osteomyelitis after radical surgical treatment of the osteomyelitic focus. Recovery was achieved in 24 patients after a single operation. Five patients were subjected to reoperations. The authors consider the fat tissue to be a reserve plastic material for surgery of chronic osteomyelitis.

[Bone and bone-muscle autoplasty in the treatment of chronic osteomyelitis]. / Kostnaia i myshechno-kostnaia autoplastika pri lechenii khronicheskogo osteomielita.

Osseous autoplasty of osteomyelitic cavities was used in 138 patients with different forms of chronic osteomyelitis. Complications were found in 8 patients. These patients had suppurations of the wound with sequestrations of osseous transplants.

[Transmyoplasty in the treatment of chronic osteomyelitis of the legs]. / Transmioplastika pri lechenii khronicheskogo osteomielita kostei nizhnikh konechnostei.

Transmyoplasty was used in the operative treatment of 118 patients with chronic osteomyelitis of the lower extremity bones in the muscle-free zones and with scarry regeneration of the muscles. Good outcomes were obtained in 92% of the patients.

[Fractures of upper extremities and their treatment in polytrauma]. / Perelomy verkhnikh konechnostei i ikh lechenie pri politravme.

Under study were results of treatment of 150 patients with multiple and associated injuries of the upper extremities. Shock took place in 44% of the patients. Early fixation of the fractures of the upper extremities allowed a successful treatment of other injuries as well. The primary invalidization made up 12% mainly because of the amputation of the upper extremities.

[Allogeneic tendoplasty in surgery of the locomotor system]. / Allotendoplastika v khirurgii oporno-dvigatel'nogo apparata.

Allogenic tendotransplants were used in the treatment of different lesions and diseases of the locomotor apparatus in 410 patients. Good anatomical and functional results were obtained in 84% of the patients. Unsatisfactory results were noted in 7% of cases. The method of preservation of allogenic tendons had no influence upon the results.

[Osteosynthesis with screws of closed fractures of the long bones]. / Osteosintez vintami zakrytykh perelomov dlinnykh trubchatykh kostei.

Osteosynthesis by screws only was used in 391 patients mainly for spiral and oblique fractures of long tubular bones. The authors give recommendations for anesthesia, selection of the screws, technique of introduction, postoperative plaster immobilization. Grounds for optimal variants of disposition of the screws in relation to the length and direction of the fracture are given. The total amount of complications by the authors' materials made up 9.8%.

[Immobilization of the lower limbs after cross plastic surgery]. / Immobilizatsiia nizhnikh konechnostei pri perekrestnoi plastike.

On the basis of the experience with the treatment of 105 patients the authors describe methods of immobilization of lower extremities for the substitution of a bone wound or a soft tissue defect by a skin, muscle or skin-muscle pedicle graft formed on the other extremity.
