RESUMO

Cas9 is a prokaryotic RNA-guided DNA endonuclease that binds substrates tightly in vitro but turns over rapidly when used to manipulate genomes in eukaryotic cells. Little is known about the factors responsible for dislodging Cas9 or how they influence genome engineering. Unbiased detection through proximity labeling of transient protein interactions in cell-free Xenopus laevis egg extract identified the dimeric histone chaperone facilitates chromatin transcription (FACT) as an interactor of substrate-bound Cas9. FACT is both necessary and sufficient to displace dCas9, and FACT immunodepletion converts Cas9's activity from multi-turnover to single turnover. In human cells, FACT depletion extends dCas9 residence times, delays genome editing, and alters the balance between indel formation and homology-directed repair. FACT knockdown also increases epigenetic marking by dCas9-based transcriptional effectors with a concomitant enhancement of transcriptional modulation. FACT thus shapes the intrinsic cellular response to Cas9-based genome manipulation most likely by determining Cas9 residence times.

OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the effect of neighborhood-level characteristics on cardiorespiratory fitness (CRF) via peak oxygen consumption (VO2peak) for healthy pediatric patients. STUDY DESIGN: The institutional cardiopulmonary exercise testing (CPET) database was analyzed retrospectively. All patients aged ≤ 18 years without a diagnosis of cardiac disease and with a maximal effort CPET were included. Patients were divided into three self-identified racial categories: White, Black, and Latinx. The Child Opportunity Index (COI) 2.0 was used to analyze social determinants of health. CRF was evaluated based on COI quintiles and race. Assessment of the effect of COI on racial disparities in CRF was performed using ANCOVA. RESULTS: A total of 1753 CPETs met inclusion criteria. The mean VO2peak was 42.1 ± 9.8 mL/kg/min. The VO2peak increased from 39.1 ± 9.6 mL/kg/min for patients in the very low opportunity cohort to 43.9 ± 9.4 mL/kg/min for patients in the very high opportunity cohort. White patients had higher percent predicted VO2peak compared with both Black and Latinx patients (P < .01 for both comparisons). The racial differences in CRF were no longer significant when adjusting for COI. CONCLUSION: In a large pediatric cohort, COI was associated with CRF. Racial disparities in CRF are reduced when accounting for modifiable risk factors.

OBJECTIVE: To develop reference values for cardiorespiratory fitness, as quantified by peak oxygen uptake (VO2peak) and treadmill time, in patients aged 6 through 18 years referred for cardiopulmonary exercise testing (CPET). STUDY DESIGN: We reviewed a clinical pediatric CPET database for fitness data in children aged 6-18 years with no underlying heart disease. CPET was obtained via the Bruce protocol utilizing objectively confirmed maximal effort via respiratory exchange ratio. Fitness data (VO2peak and treadmill test duration) were analyzed to determine age- and sex-specific reference values for this pediatric cohort. RESULTS: Data from 2025 pediatric CPETs (53.2% female) were included in the analyses. VO2peak increased with age in males, but not females. Treadmill test duration increased with age in both males and females. Fitness was generally higher in males when compared with females in the same age groups. CONCLUSIONS: Our study provides extensive reference values for both VO2peak and total treadmill test time via the Bruce protocol for a pediatric population without known cardiac disease. Furthermore, the inclusion of objectively confirmed maximal exercise effort increases confidence in these findings compared with prior studies in this area. Clinicians performing CPET in pediatric populations can utilize these reference values to characterize test results according to representative peer data.

OBJECTIVE: To evaluate post-nephrectomy outcomes and predictors of cancer-specific survival (CSS) between patients with localised sarcomatoid renal cell carcinoma (sRCC) and those with Grade 4 RCC (non-sRCC), as most sRCC research focuses on advanced or metastatic disease with limited studies analysing outcomes of patients with localised non-metastatic sRCC. PATIENTS AND METHODS: A total of 564 patients with localised RCC underwent partial or radical nephrectomy between June 1988 to March 2019 for sRCC (n = 204) or World Health Organization/International Society of Urological Pathology Grade 4 non-sRCC (n = 360). The CSS at every stage between groups was assessed. Phase III ASSURE clinical trial data were used to externally validate the CSS findings. The Mann-Whitney U-test and chi-squared test compared outcomes and the Kaplan-Meier method evaluated CSS, overall survival (OS) and recurrence-free survival. Clinicopathological features associated with RCC death were evaluated using Cox proportional hazards regression. RESULTS: The median follow-up was 31.5 months. The median OS and CSS between the sRCC and Grade 4 non-sRCC groups was 45 vs 102 months and 49 vs 152 months, respectively (P < 0.001). At every stage, sRCC had worse CSS compared to Grade 4 non-sRCC. Notably, pT1 sRCC had worse CSS than pT3 Grade 4 non-sRCC. Negative predictors of CSS were sarcomatoid features, non-clear cell histology, positive margins, higher stage (pT3/pT4), and use of minimally invasive surgery (MIS). ASSURE external verification showed worse CSS in patients with sRCC (hazard ratio [HR] 1.63, 95% confidence interval [CI] 1.12-2.36; P = 0.01), but not worse outcomes in MIS surgery (HR 1.39, 95% CI 0.75-2.56; P = 0.30). CONCLUSIONS: Localised sRCC had worse CSS compared to Grade 4 non-sRCC at every stage. Negative survival predictors included positive margins, higher pathological stage, use of MIS, and non-clear cell histology. sRCC is an aggressive variant even at low stages requiring vigilant surveillance and possible inclusion in adjuvant therapy trials.

BACKGROUND: Obesity and impaired exercise tolerance following heart transplantation increase the risk of post-transplant morbidity and mortality. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of body mass index on markers of exercise capacity in pediatric heart transplant recipients and compare this effect with a healthy pediatric cohort. METHODS: A retrospective analysis of cardiopulmonary exercise test data between 2004 and 2022 was performed. All patients exercised on a treadmill using the Bruce protocol. Inclusion criteria included patients aged 6-21 years, history of heart transplantation (transplant cohort) or no cardiac diagnosis (control cohort) at the time of testing, and a maximal effort test. Patients were further stratified within these two cohorts as underweight, normal, overweight, and obese based on body mass index groups. Two-way analyses of variance were performed with diagnosis and body mass index category as the independent variables. RESULTS: A total of 250 exercise tests following heart transplant and 1963 exercise tests of healthy patients were included. Heart transplant patients across all body mass index groups had higher resting heart rate and lower maximal heart rate, heart rate recovery at 1 min, exercise duration, and peak aerobic capacity (VO2peak). Heart transplant patients in the normal and overweight body mass index categories had higher VO2peak and exercise duration when compared to underweight and obese patients. CONCLUSION: Underweight status and obesity are strongly associated with lower VO2peak and exercise duration in heart transplant patients. Normal and overweight heart transplant patients had the best markers of exercise capacity.

ARID1A is a core DNA-binding subunit of the BAF chromatin remodeling complex, and is lost in up to 7% of all cancers. The frequency of ARID1A loss increases in certain cancer types, such as clear cell ovarian carcinoma where ARID1A protein is lost in about 50% of cases. While the impact of ARID1A loss on the function of the BAF chromatin remodeling complexes is likely to drive oncogenic gene expression programs in specific contexts, ARID1A also binds genome stability regulators such as ATR and TOP2. Here we show that ARID1A loss leads to DNA replication stress associated with R-loops and transcription-replication conflicts in human cells. These effects correlate with altered transcription and replication dynamics in ARID1A knockout cells and to reduced TOP2A binding at R-loop sites. Together this work extends mechanisms of replication stress in ARID1A deficient cells with implications for targeting ARID1A deficient cancers.

Cardiac dysfunction is associated with mortality in children with hypoplastic left heart syndrome (HLHS). We evaluated the ability of qualitative and quantitative RV functional parameters to predict outcomes in HLHS patients. In this retrospective, single-center study, echocardiograms from 3 timepoints (pre-stage 1 palliation, 4-8 weeks post-stage 1 palliation, and pre-Glenn) were analyzed in infants with HLHS. Patients were stratified into two groups based on outcome of transplant-free survival post-Glenn (survivors) versus mortality or transplantation prior to Fontan (non-survivors). Images were retrospectively reviewed to obtain RV global longitudinal strain (RVGLS), RV-free wall strain (RVFWS), fractional area change (FAC), tricuspid annular systolic plane excursion (TAPSE), tissue motion annular displacement of the tricuspid valve (TMAD-TV) and qualitative systolic function assessment during the predetermined timepoints. An equal variance t-test and chi-square were used to determine significant differences and ROC curve analysis was performed to derive optimal cutoff values to predict mortality/transplant. A total of 47 patients met inclusion criteria, of which, 21 patients met composite endpoint. There were no significant differences in any RV functional parameter during the pre- or post-stage 1 palliation timepoints. The absolute values of RVFWS, RVGLS, and TMAD-TV were significantly greater in survivors than non-survivors during the pre-Glenn timepoint. A pre-Glenn RVGLS > -15.6 (AUC 0.79), RVFWS > -18.6 (AUC 0.75), and TMAD-TV < 12.6% (AUC 0.82) were sensitive and specific for predicting death or need for transplantation prior to Fontan completion. RVGLS, RVFWS, and TMAD-TV may help identify higher-risk HLHS patients during the interstage period.

Current analysis techniques available for migration assays only provide quantitative measurements for overall migration. However, the potential of regional migration analyses can open further insight into migration patterns and more avenues of experimentation with the same assays. Previously, we developed an analysis pipeline utilizing the finite element (FE) method to show its potential in analyzing glioblastoma (GBM) tumorsphere migration, especially in characterizing regional changes in the migration pattern. This study aims to streamline and further automate the analysis system by integrating the machine-learning-based U-Net segmentation with the FE method. Our U-Net-based segmentation achieved a 98% accuracy in segmenting our tumorspheres. From the segmentations, FE models made up of 3D hexahedral elements were generated, and the migration patterns of the tumorspheres were analyzed under treatments B and C (under non-disclosure agreements). Our results show that our overall migration analysis correlated very strongly (R2 of 0.9611 and 0.9986 for treatments B and C, respectively) with ImageJ's method of migration area analysis, which is the most common method of tumorsphere migration analysis. Additionally, we were able to quantitatively represent the regional migration patterns in our FE models, which the methods purely based on segmentations could not do. Moreover, the new pipeline improved the efficiency and accessibility of the initial pipeline by implementing machine learning-based automated segmentation onto a mainly open-sourced FE analysis platform. In conclusion, our algorithm enables the development of a high-content and high-throughput in vitro screening platform to elucidate anti-migratory molecules that may reduce the invasiveness of these malignant tumors.

Indoor free-space optical communication (FSO) provides orders of magnitude larger usable bandwidth compared to radio-frequency links but suffers from an intrinsic trade-off between areal coverage and received power. In this paper, we report a dynamic indoor FSO system enabled by a line-of-sight optical link featuring advanced beam control capabilities. The optical link herein utilizes a passive target acquisition scheme by combining a beam steering and beam shaping transmitter with a receiver adorned with a ring-shaped retroreflector. When controlled by an efficient beam scanning algorithm, the transmitter is capable of locating the receiver with millimeter-scale accuracy over a distance of 3 m with a full viewing angle of ±11.25∘ in the vertical direction and ±18.75∘ in the horizontal direction within 1.162±0.005s, regardless of the receiver's positions. We also demonstrate 1 Gbit/s data rate with bit error rates below 4×10-7 using an 850 nm laser diode with only 2 mW of output power.

We demonstrate a real-time, reusable, and reversible integrated optical sensor for temperature monitoring within harsh environments. The sensor architecture combines the phase change property of chalcogenide glasses (ChG) with the high-density integration advantages of high index silicon waveguides. To demonstrate sensor feasibility, ChG composition Ge40S60, which is characterized by a sharp phase transition from amorphous to crystalline phase around 415 °C, is deposited over a 50 µm section of a single mode optical waveguide. The phase transition changes the behavior of Ge40S60 from a low loss to high loss material, thus significantly affecting the hybrid waveguide loss around the phase transition temperature. A transmission power drop of over 40dB in the crystalline phase compared to the amorphous phase is experimentally measured. Moreover, we recover the amorphous phase through the application of an electrical pulse, thus showing the reversible nature of our compact temperature sensor. Through integrating multiple compositions of ChG with well-defined phases transition temperatures over a silicon waveguide array, it is possible to determine, in real-time, the temperature evolution within a harsh environment, such as within a nuclear reactor cladding.

Thin layer chromatography in tandem with surface-enhanced Raman scattering (TLC-SERS) has demonstrated tremendous potentials as a new analytical chemistry tool to detect a wide range of substances from real-world samples. However, it still faces significant challenges of multiplex sensing from complex mixtures due to the imperfect separation by TLC and the resulting interference of SERS detection. In this article, we propose a multiplex sensing method of complex mixtures by machine vision analysis of the scanning image of the TLC-SERS results. Briefly, various pure substances in solution and the complex mixture solution are separated by TLC followed by one-dimensional SERS scanning of the entire TLC plate, which generates TLC-SERS images of all target substances along the chromatography path. After that, a machine vision method is employed to extract the template images from the TLC-SERS images of pure substance solutions. Finally, we apply a feature point matching strategy based on the Winner-take-all principle, which matches the template image of each pure substance with the mixture image to confirm the existence and derive the position of each target substance in the TLC plate, respectively. Our experimental results based on the mixture solution of five different substances show that the proposed machine vision analysis is highly selective, sensitive and does not require artificial analysis of the SERS spectra. Therefore, we envision that the proposed machine vision analysis of the TLC-SERS imaging is an objective, accurate, and efficient method for multiplex sensing of trace level of target substances from complex mixtures.

Debate exists on the usefulness of high-sensitivity cardiac troponin (hs-cTn) testing in pediatric patients due to the perceived low incidence of myocardial injury and lack of data concerning its efficacy. We evaluated the contribution of an increased hs-cTnT above the 99th percentile upper-reference limit (URL) to clinical diagnoses made in pediatric patients presenting to the emergency department (ED). Retrospective cohort study including patients aged 0-18 years presenting to the ED from 2018 to 2020 where hs-cTnT was measured. Sex-specific 99th percentile URLs of 15 and 10 ng/L for males and females, respectively, were used, with concentrations above these thresholds considered indicative of myocardial injury. Overall, 356 patients were identified in whom hs-cTnT concentrations were measured during ED clinical evaluation. Hs-cTnT was increased above the 99th percentile on presentation in 36 patients (10.1%). Twelve patients (3.4%) had a clinical cardiac diagnosis made. Hs-cTnT was increased in 6 of these (50.0%). Serial hs-cTnT from 106 patients with an initial hs-cTnT < 99th percentile was subsequently elevated in 5 (4.6%); none of whom had a final clinical cardiac diagnosis. Hs-cTnT has high specificity, but low sensitivity when used as a screening tool for myocardial injury when the gold standard is mostly clinical assessment. In present practice, however, they do not appear to track well with clinical diagnoses. Further studies are needed to more clearly define the role of hs-cTnT in this patient population.

Frequent monitoring of sea food, especially shellfish samples, for the presence of biotoxins serves not only as a valuable strategy to mitigate adulteration associated health risks, but could also be used to develop predictive models to understand algal explosion and toxin trends. Periodic toxin assessment is often restricted due to poor sensitivity, multifarious cleaning/extraction protocols and high operational costs of conventional detection methods. Through this work, a simplistic approach to quantitatively assess the presence of a representative marine neurotoxin, Domoic acid (DA), from spiked water and crab meat samples is presented. DA sensing was performed based on surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) using silver nanoparticle enriched diatomaceous earth­a biological photonic crystal material in nature. Distinctive optical features of the quasi-ordered pore patterns in diatom skeleton with sporadic yet uniform functionalization of silver nanoparticles act as excellent SERS substrates with improved DA signals. Different concentrations of DA were tested on the substrates with the lowest detectable concentration being 1 ppm that falls well below the regulatory DA levels in seafood (>20 ppm). All the measurements were rapid and were performed within a measurement time of 1 min. Utilizing the measurement results, a standard calibration curve between SERS signal intensity and DA concentration was developed. The calibration curve was later utilized to predict the DA concentration from spiked Dungeness crab meat samples. SERS based quantitative assessment was further complemented with principal component analysis and partial least square regression studies. The tested methodology aims to bring forth a sensitive yet simple, economical and an extraction free routine to assess biotoxin presence in sea food samples onsite.

INTRODUCTION/AIMS: Eculizumab has been shown to be efficacious in acetylcholine receptor antibody-positive (AChR+ ) Myasthenia Gravis Foundation of America (MGFA) class II, III, and IV generalized myasthenia gravis (gMG) patients. However, it has not been studied in MGFA class V gMG patients. METHODS: We report three AChR+ , refractory, MGFA class V gMG patients treated with eculizumab. MGFA class, MG-Composite (MGC) score and MG Activities of Daily Living (MG-ADL) score were assessed before and after eculizumab. RESULTS: Two of three gMG patients, refractory to intravenous immunoglobulin, plasmapheresis, prednisone, and (in one case) rituximab, showed a robust response to eculizumab with marked improvement in MGFA, MG-ADL, and MGC measures. The third patient showed a partial response to eculizumab but remained on noninvasive ventilation and gastrostomy intubation. Patients 1 and 2 achieved minimal manifestation status at week 4 and week 6, respectively, and showed continued improvement on MG-ADL and MGC scores through weeks 55 and 43, respectively, with eculizumab. The third patient showed a partial response at week 10, followed by a slight decline in his MG-ADL score, but noted a slow but an incomplete improvement afterward on MG-ADL and MGC scores, possibly due to delayed eculizumab infusion. DISCUSSION: Eculizumab may play a role in the treatment of patients with MGFA class V, refractory gMG. Larger studies are required to provide further evidence.

Traumatic brain injury (TBI) is a major public health problem. The majority of TBIs are in the form of mild TBI (also known as concussion) with sports-related concussion (SRC) receiving public attention in recent years.Here we have performed a systematic review of the literature on the use of Diffusion Tensor Imaging (DTI) on sports-related concussion and subconcussive injuries. Our review found different patterns of change in DTI parameters between concussed and subconcussed groups. The Fractional Anisotropy (FA) was either unchanged or increased for the concussion group, while the subconcussed group generally experienced a decrease in FA. A reverse pattern was observed for Mean Diffusivity (MD) - where the concussed group experienced a decrease in MD while the subconcussed group showed an increase in MD. However, in general, discrepancies were observed in the results reported in the literature - likely due to the huge variations in DTI acquisition parameters, and image processing and analysis methods used in these studies. This calls for more comprehensive and well-controlled studies in this field, including those that combine the advanced brain imaging with biomechancial modeling and kinematic sensors - to shed light on the underlying mechanisms behind the structural changes observed from the imaging studies.

Accurate assessment of the right ventricular (RV) volume and function is important in patients with hypoplastic left heart syndrome (HLHS). We sought to investigate the effect of ventriculotomy on the correlation of RV functional assessments by two-dimensional echocardiography (2DE) to cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR)-derived RV ejection fraction (EF) in patients with HLHS. A retrospective re-analysis of CMR imaging with matched 2DE was performed from the institutional HLHS registry. Echocardiographic RV functional parameters were analyzed and correlated with CMR-derived EF. Intraclass correlation coefficient was used to determine interobserver reliability. A total of 58 matched echocardiograms and CMR imaging studies from 46 patients was evaluated. Median duration between CMR imaging and echocardiogram was 1 day (range 0-6 days). No significant difference was seen in CMR RV EF between patients with and without a ventriculotomy (EF - 43.6% vs 44.7%, p = 0.85). The presence of a ventriculotomy significantly decreased the correlation of biplane FAC (r = 0.86 vs 0.52; p = 0.02), triplane FAC (r = 0.84 vs 0.49; p = 0.03), and 2DE visually estimated EF (r = 0.83 vs 0.49; p = 0.02). The correlation of circumferential and longitudinal strains to CMR-derived EF was not significantly affected by the presence of a ventriculotomy. A prior ventriculotomy significantly affected correlation between 2DE FAC and visually estimated EF with CMR-derived EF. The dyskinetic myocardial segment due to ventriculotomy, which is often not visualized by 2DE, may be the reason for this discrepancy.

Left ventricular (LV) morphology may affect right ventricular (RV) function before and after Fontan palliation in patients with hypoplastic left heart syndrome (HLHS). We sought to assess the potential impact of LV morphology on RV function in patients with HLHS using cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) imaging. A retrospective analysis of available CMR scans from all patients with HLHS was performed. LV morphology was categorized as absent/slit-like or globular/miniaturized. Volumetric analysis was performed using manual disc-summation method on steady-state free precession (SSFP) stack obtained in short-axis orientation of the ventricles. 4-chamber and short-axis SSFP images were used to measure strain on a semi-automated feature-tracking (FT) module. Two sample t-test was used to compare the groups. A total of 48 CMR scans were analyzed. Of those, 12 patients had absent/slit-like and 36 had globular/miniaturized LV morphology. Averaged 4-chamber longitudinal RV strain was significantly higher for absent/slit-like (- 17.6 ± 4.7%) than globular/miniaturized (- 13.4 ± 3.5; P = 0.002). Averaged 4-chamber radial RV strain was also significantly higher for absent/slit-like (33.1 ± 14.9%) than globular/miniaturized (21.6 ± 7.1; P = 0.001). For globular/miniaturized LV morphology, the decreases of 4-chamber longitudinal and radial strains were mainly attributable to the septal basilar and septal mid-ventricular segments. No differences were found in short-axis RV global circumferential strain between the morphologic subtypes (absent/slit-like - 15.0 ± 6.5, globular/miniaturized - 15.7 ± 4.7; P = 0.68). Larger LV remnants, with globular/miniaturized LV morphology, demonstrated diminished strain in the septal base and mid-ventricle segments. Patients with globular/miniaturized LV morphology may benefit with closer monitoring and lower threshold to start heart failure medications. These results exemplify the utility of including both septal and regional deformation in systemic RV strain analysis.

These studies provide the emerging view that "glioblastoma" represents several histologically similar yet molecularly heterogeneous diseases, which influences taxonomic classification systems, prognosis, and therapeutic decisions.

Quantitative analysis using thin-layer chromatography coupled in tandem with surface-enhanced Raman scattering (TLC-SERS) still remains a grand challenge due to many uncontrollable variations during the TLC developing process and the random nature of the SERS substrates. Traditional chemometric methods solve this problem by sampling multiple SERS spectra in the sensing spot and then conducting statistical analysis of the SERS signals to mitigate the variation of quantitative analysis, while still ignoring the spatial distribution of the target species and the correlation among the multiple sampling points. In this paper, we proposed for the first time a parallel feature extraction and fusion method based on quaternion signal processing techniques, which can enable quantitative analysis using recently established TLC-SERS techniques. By marking three deterministic sampling points, we recorded spatially correlated SERS spectra to constitute an integral representation model of triple-spectra by a pure quaternion matrix. Quaternion principal component analysis (QPCA) was utilized for features extraction and followed by feature crossing among the quaternion principal components to obtain final fusion spectral feature vectors. Support vector regression (SVR) was then used to establish the quantitative model of melamine-contaminated milk samples with seven concentrations (1ppm to 250ppm). Compared with traditional TLC-SERS analysis methods, QPCA method significantly improved the accuracy of quantification by reaching only 7% and 2% quantization errors at 20 and 105 ppm concentration. Validation testing based on reasonable amount of statistic measurement results showed consistently smaller measurement errors and variance, which proved the effectiveness of QPCA method for TLC-SERS based quantitative sensing applications.

When myocardial walls experience stress due to cardiovascular diseases, like heart failure, hormone N-terminal pro-B-type natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP) is secreted into the blood. Early detection of NT-proBNP can assist diagnosis of heart failure and enable early medical intervention. A simple, cost-effective detection technique such as the widely used fluorescence imaging immunoassay is yet to be developed to detect clinically relevant levels of NT-proBNP. In this work, we demonstrate photonic crystal-enhanced fluorescence imaging immunoassay using diatom biosilica, which is capable of detecting low levels of NT-proBNP in solution with the concentration range of 0~100 pg/mL. By analyzing the fluorescence images in the spatial and spatial frequency domain with principle component analysis (PCA) and partial least squares regression (PLSR) algorithms, we create a predictive model that achieves great linearity with a validation R2 value of 0.86 and a predictive root mean square error of 14.47, allowing for good analyte quantification. To demonstrate the potential of the fluorescence immunoassay biosensor for clinical usage, we conducted qualitative screening of high and low concentrations of NT-proBNP in human plasma. A more advanced machine learning algorithm, the support vector machine classification, was paired with the PCA and trained by 160 fluorescence images. In the 40 testing images, we achieved excellent specificity of 93%, as well as decent accuracy and sensitivity of 78% and 65% respectively. Therefore, the photonic crystal-enhanced fluorescence imaging immunoassay reported in this article is feasible to screen clinically relevant levels of NT-proBNP in body fluid and evaluate the risk of heart failure.
