Paracoccidioides brasiliensis Infection Mimicking Recurrent Hodgkin Lymphoma: A Case Report and Review of the Literature.

Paracoccidioides infection is a rare entity in the USA. This dimorphic fungus is found in Central and South America and is thought to be acquired by inhalation through the soil. We report a case of Paracoccidioides brasiliensis infection presenting as a clavicular bone lesion, peripancreatic mass, and various skin lesions. A 35-year-old man with a history significant for Hodgkin lymphoma presented with a left clavicular mass that was suspected clinically and radiologically as recurrent Hodgkin lymphoma. He was not experiencing any associated symptoms and was undergoing chemotherapy treatment for his known Hodgkin disease. On CT imaging, the mass was seen as a lytic bone lesion with an overlying soft tissue mass. This was biopsied and histologically diagnosed as a Paracoccidioides brasiliensis infection with associated necrotizing granulomatous inflammation. Also found on the CT scan was an enlarging peripancreatic mass which on endoscopic biopsy had similar histologic findings. In conclusion, this report presents a rare case of Paracoccidioides brasiliensis infection mimicking recurrent Hodgkin lymphoma.

Angiosarcoma of the Face: A Case Study and Literature Review of Local and Metastatic Angiosarcoma.

Angiosarcomas are vascular malignancies with a tendency to spread extensively both locally and systemically. We report a case of cutaneous angiosarcoma of the face in a 53-year-old man that was originally misdiagnosed as an abscess. Initially small, the lesion enlarged over a four-to-six-month period and began to bleed. Two shave biopsies were performed that returned a diagnosis of angiosarcoma. The patient underwent radical resection and lymph node dissection, which revealed positive margins and ten of forty-six positive lymph nodes. The patient was treated with paclitaxel and concurrent radiation therapy (RT). Restaging scans showed a new sclerotic lesion of the T10 vertebra, three hepatic lesions, and an adrenal lesion, all concerning for metastasis. Biopsy of one of the hepatic lesions was consistent with metastatic angiosarcoma. In this review, we discuss the presentation of cutaneous angiosarcoma, the importance of early diagnosis, and the treatment options available for metastatic disease that has failed first-line chemotherapy.

A Space to Speak: Therapeutic Theater to Address Gender-Based Violence.

This article examines the experience of eight graduate students in the drama therapy program at Lesley University when creating and performing a theater piece centered around gender-based violence. The performance piece, A Space to Speak, used the performers' real-life stories to highlight their vastly different, yet strikingly similar, experiences and invited the audience to examine their own relationship to those stories. A description of the process used to create and perform the piece is followed by a discussion of the impact the process had on the performers and audience members.
