RESUMO

PURPOSE: To observe the effect of overdose fluoride on the expression of TGF-ß3 in rat incisor and to explore the possible mechanism of dental fluorosis. METHODS: Twenty Wistar rats were randomly divided into 2 groups. The animals were maintained in standard environmental conditions with free access to food and water (control group) or water added with 100mg/L F (experimental group). The rats were killed at the end of 8th week. The expression of TGF-ß3 was detected by immunohistochemical staining. Statistical analysis was performed using SPSS12.0 software package. RESULTS: The expression of TGF-ß3 in ameloblasts was significantly inhibited in the experimental of group II(P<0.01). The gray value of the control group and the fluorine group were 85.89±7.90, 116.76±8.04, respectively. CONCLUSIONS: Fluoride might disturb the signal transduction between the epithelia and mesenchyma by inhibiting the expression of TGF-ß3 in ameloblasts, which in turn may inhibit the differentiation and function of the tooth-forming cells.

RESUMO

PURPOSES: To analyze the effect of low level laser treatment combined with basic therapy periodontal on cytokines and lipopolysaccharide, leptin in gingival sulcus of patients with diabetes mellitus complicated with chronic periodontitis (DMCP). METHODS: From January 2016 to January 2017, 80 patients with DMCP were randomly divided into experimental group and control group. Patients in the control group received basic periodontal therapy, while patients in the experimental group received low dose laser combined with basic periodontal treatment. Before treatment and 3 months after treatment, oral PD, SBI and CAL levels were detected in all patients. Venous blood was collected, HbA1c and FPG levels in blood serum were detected. TNF-α, IL-1, hs-CRP, LPS, leptin in gingival crevicular fluid were detected. Statistical analyses were performed using SPSS19.0 software package. RESULTS: After treatment, CAL, PD, SBI, FBG, HbA1c, TNF-α, IL-1, hs-CRP, LPS levels were significantly decreased, Leptin level increased in both group, and the difference was significant (P<0.05). After treatment, CAL, PD, SBI, FBG, HbA1c, TNF-α, hs-CRP, IL-1 and the level of LPS in the experimental group was significantly lower than the control group (P<0.05), and the level of leptin was significantly higher than that of the control group (P<0.05). CONCLUSIONS: Low level laser combined with basic periodontal treatment can effectively reduce LPS level of DMCP patients in gingival sulcus, and improve the level of Leptin, significantly improve the inflammatory reaction and clinical efficacy.

RESUMO

PURPOSE: To assess the effects of DICLORAL's alleviation of pain caused by radiation-induced oral mucositis. METHODS: With compound borax solution as a comparative drugs' the solution of DICLORAL was adopted for patients with radiation-induced oral mucositis due to radiotherapy for nasal NK/T cell lymphoma. All 59 patients were randomly divided into 2 groups: experimental group (using DICLORAL) and control group (using Compound Borax Solution). During the treatment, we observed drugs' ability of alleviate oral pain or pain on swallowing, when it worked and how long it could sustain in controlling pain. Statistical analysis was performed using SPSS 16.0 software package. RESULTS: Drugs' ability of alleviate oral pain or pain on swallowing and the onset time was not significantly different between the 2 groups (P>0.05). Effective duration in experimental group was longer than that in control group (P<0.05). CONCLUSIONS: DICORAL can alleviate and cease pain caused by radiation-induced oral mucositis effectively.
