RESUMO

Traditional current-driven spintronics is limited by localized heating issues and large energy consumption, restricting their data storage density and operation speed. Meanwhile, voltage-driven spintronics with much lower energy dissipation also suffers from charge-induced interfacial corrosion. Thereby finding a novel way of tuning ferromagnetism is crucial for spintronics with energy-saving and good reliability. Here, a visible light tuning of interfacial exchange interaction via photoelectron doping into synthetic antiferromagnetic heterostructure of CoFeB/Cu/CoFeB/PN Si substrate is demonstrated. Then, a complete, reversible magnetism switching between antiferromagnetic (AFM) and ferromagnetic (FM) states with visible light on and off is realized. Moreover, a visible light control of 180° deterministic magnetization switching with a tiny magnetic bias field is achieved. The magnetic optical Kerr effect results further reveal the magnetic domain switching pathway between AFM and FM domains. The first-principle calculations conclude that the photoelectrons fill in the unoccupied band and raise the Fermi energy, which increases the exchange interaction. Lastly, a prototype device with visible light control of two states switching with a 0.35% giant magnetoresistance ratio change (maximal 0.4%), paving the way toward fast, compact, and energy-efficient solar-driven memories is fabricated.

Finding an energy-efficient way of switching magnetization is crucial in spintronic devices, such as memories. Usually, spins are manipulated by spin-polarized currents or voltages in various ferromagnetic heterostructures; however, their energy consumption is relatively large. Here, a sunlight control of perpendicular magnetic anisotropy (PMA) in Pt (0.8 nm)/Co (0.65 nm)/Pt (2.5 nm)/PN Si heterojunction in an energy-efficient manner is proposed. The coercive field (HC ) is altered from 261 to 95 Oe (64% variation) under sunlight illumination, enabling a nearly 180° deterministic magnetization switching reversibly with a 140 Oe magnetic bias assistant. The element-resolved X-ray circular dichroism measurement reveals different L3 and L2 edge signals of the Co layer with or without sunlight, suggesting a photoelectron-induced redistribution of the orbital and spin moment in Co magnetization. The first-principle calculations also reveal that the photo-induced electrons shift the Fermi level of electrons and enhance the in-plane Rashba field around the Co/Pt interfaces, leading to a weakened PMA and corresponding HC decreasing and magnetization switching accordingly. The sunlight control of PMA may provide an alternative way for magnetic recording, which is energy efficient and would reduce the Joule heat from the high switching current.

The complex micro-/nanoscale wrinkle morphology primarily fabricated by elastic polymers is usually designed to realize unique functionalities in physiological, biochemical, bioelectric, and optoelectronic systems. In this work, we fabricated inorganic freestanding BaTiO3 ferroelectric thin films with zigzag wrinkle morphology and successfully modulated the ferroelectric domains to form an in-plane (IP) superstructure with periodic surface charge distribution. Our piezoresponse force microscopy (PFM) measurements and phase-field simulation demonstrate that the self-organized strain/stress field in the zigzag-wrinkled BaTiO3 film generates a corresponding pristine domain structure. These domains can be switched by tip-induced strain gradient (flexoelectricity) and naturally form a robust and unique "braided" in-plane domain pattern, which enables us to offer an effective and convenient way to create a microscopic ferroelectric superstructure. The corresponding periodic surface potential distribution provides an extra degree of freedom in addition to the morphology that could regulate cells or polar molecules in physiological and bioelectric applications.

Liver fibrosis (LF) is a late-stage process observed in various chronic liver diseases with bile and retinol metabolism closely associated with it. Adipose-derived mesenchymal stem cells (ADMSCs) have shown significant therapeutic potential in treating LF. In this study, the transplantation of ADMSCs was applied to a CCl4-induced LF model to investigate its molecular mechanism through a multi-omics joint analysis. The findings reveal that ADMSCs effectively reduced levels of alanine aminotransferase (ALT), aspartate aminotransferase (AST), total bilirubin (TBIL), gamma-glutamyltransferase (GGT), Interleukin-6 (IL-6), tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α), and α-Smooth muscle actin (α-SMA), thereby mitigating liver lesions, preventing liver parenchymal necrosis, and improving liver collagen deposition. Furthermore, 4751 differentially expressed genes (DEGs) and 270 differentially expressed metabolites (DMs) were detected via transcriptome and metabolomics analysis. Conjoint analysis showed that ADMSCs up-regulated the expression of Cyp7a1, Baat, Cyp27a1, Adh7, Slco1a4, Aldh1a1, and Adh7 genes to promote primary bile acids (TCDCA: Taurochenodeoxycholic acid; GCDCA: Glycochenodeoxycholic acid; GCA: glycocholic acid, TCA: Taurocholic acid) synthesis, secretion and retinol metabolism. This suggests that ADMSCs play a therapeutic role in maintaining bile acid (BA) homeostasis and correcting disturbances in retinol metabolism.

Streptococcus agalactiae is a significant pathogen that can affect both human beings and animals. The extensive current use of antibiotics has resulted in antibiotic resistance. In our previous research, we found that zinc oxide quantum dots (ZnO QDs) had inhibitory effects on antibiotic-resistant microorganisms. In this study, a strain of Streptococcus agalactiaeWJYT1 with a broad antibiotic-resistant spectrum was isolated and identified from Lama glama at Sichuan Agricultural University Teaching Animal Hospital. The genome for the resistance and virulence genes was analyzed. Additionally, the antibacterial effects and anti-virulence mechanism of ZnO QDs for S. agalactiaeWJYT1 were investigated. The results showed that the genome of S. agalactiaeWJYT1 is 1,943,955 bp, containing 22 resistance genes and 95 virulence genes. ZnO QDs have a good antibacterial effect against S. agalactiaeWJYT1 by reducing bacterial growth and decreasing the expression of virulence genes, including bibA, hylB, sip, and cip, which provides a novel potential treatment for S. agalactiae.

RESUMO

Mites have been a persistent infectious disease affecting both humans and animals since ancient times. In veterinary clinics, the primary approach for treating and managing mite infestations has long been the use of chemical acaricides. However, the widespread use of these chemicals has resulted in significant problems, including drug resistance, drug residues, and environmental pollution, limiting their effectiveness. To address these challenges, researchers have shifted their focus towards natural products that have shown promise both in the laboratory and real-world settings against mite infestations. Natural products have a wide variety of chemical structures and biological activities, including acaricidal properties. This article offers a comprehensive review of the acaricidal capabilities and mechanisms of action of natural products like plant extracts, natural compounds, algae, and microbial metabolites against common animal mites.

Titanium-oxo clusters (TOCs) have been studied for applications in catalysis, energy storage and transfer, light emission, and so on; however, use of TOCs for the selective adsorption of dyes has not yet been reported. Herein, a TOC compound formulated as [Ti6O3(OiPr)14(TTFTC)]4 (1, TTFTC = tetrathiafulvalene-tetracarboxylate) was successfully prepared and crystallographically characterized. Compound 1 has a cyclic structure assembled by four Ti6 clusters and four rodlike TTFTC connectors. Red compound 1 self-condenses to form a black polymeric organic-inorganic hybrid material (denoted as B-1), which was characterized by various techniques. B-1 is an amorphous TiO material that is formed by the irregular condensation of 1 by the removal of alkoxyl groups. B-1 exhibits high dye adsorption efficiency toward cationic dyes with a qe value of 651.3 mg/g at 298 K for methylene blue (MB). Moreover, B-1 can be used to selectively remove MB not only from mixed cationic-anionic dye solutions but also from some mixed cationic dyes, which is related to their structures. Kinetic, isotherm, and thermodynamic studies demonstrated that the pseudo-second-order kinetic model and Freundlich model show a good fit to the experimental data. The adsorption process involves an exothermic and entropy decreasing process. In addition, dye-adsorbed B-1 can be further used as a photocurrent-responsive material. The work opens up a new field for the application of TOCs in the selective adsorption and removal of dyes.

Hfq is an RNA-binding protein, its main function is to participate in post-transcriptional regulation of bacteria and regulate small regulatory RNA (sRNA) and messenger RNA (mRNA) stability, but the Hfq function of Bacillus subtilis (B. subtilis) has not been fully explained. In this study, we used the strains of B. subtilis168 (BS168), BS168Δhfq and BS168Δhfq-C to explore the effects of Hfq on the glucose utilization, biofilm formation and quorum sensing (QS) system of B. subtilis. The results showed that the knockout of hfq resulted in growth defects when bacteria were cultured in the Luria-Bertani (LB) medium, but we did not observe the same effects in Nitrogen medium (NM) and Inorganic Salt-free medium (ISM). We further found that the growth of strains under different glucose concentrations was also different, which was related to the expression of CcpA. Interestingly, the hfq mutant showed increased resistance to a high-glucose environment. Furthermore, the biofilm and extracellular poly saccharides (EPS) formation of BS168Δhfq decreased significantly. At the same time, changes were observed in the morphology of the biofilm, such as larger intercellular space of the biofilm and thinner edge. The qRT-PCR results confirmed that the hfq knockout caused significant up-regulation or down-regulation of gene expression in QS system, and down-regulated genes were involved in the positive regulation of biofilm formation. Taken together, we demonstrated that Hfq plays a vital role in glucose utilization, biofilm formation and QS of B. subtilis, which provides a new perspective for subsequent related research.

INTRODUCTION: The potential benefits of supportive interactions on social networking sites on adolescents' mental health are promising; however, no systematic evaluation has been conducted on this topic. This review examined empirical research on the relationship between social support derived from social networking sites and adolescents' mental health both theoretically and empirically. METHODS: Followed PRISMA guidelines, we conducted a systematic literature search on six English and three Chinese databases in February 2020. Four thousand one hundred and seventy-seven articles were screened first by title, then abstract, and lastly, full articles. RESULTS: Fourteen studies (five English and nine Chinese) were identified, with total sample of 11,616 adolescents (age: 10-19 years; females: 42.7%-56.3%). Meta-analysis showed that the correlation of online social support with self-esteem was moderate and significant (r = .29), but with depression was small and insignificant (r = -.09). Sensitivity analysis indicated that social support from acquaintances on the internet may not be as beneficial as from real-life acquaintances. Despite that there isn't enough research on other specific mental health outcomes to run a quantitative synthesis, individual studies suggest that online social support (OSS) may be associated with increased self-identity and life satisfaction, decreased loneliness and social anxiety, it also counteracts the negative effect of stress and cyberbullying on mental health. CONCLUSIONS: OSS might be beneficial for adolescents' mental health, especially self-esteem, although the causal relationship requires longitudinal studies to confirm, and the underlying mechanisms need further investigation.

This study aims to investigate older adults' psychological reactions when facing changes in daily life caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and anti-epidemic measures. Specifically, this study investigated the impacts of communication types (i.e., electronic and face-to-face communication) and frequency during the pandemic and the kinds of proactive coping actions taken by older adults on their anxiety. A total of 43,019 respondents were included in this study by merging two longitudinal databases. One is the seventh wave of the Survey of Health, Ageing and Retirement in Europe (SHARE) conducted in 2017, and the other is the COVID-19 Survey of SHARE, which was conducted between June and August 2020. This study found that one third of older adults reported anxiety symptoms during the COVID-19 pandemic and one fifth reported increased anxiety than before the pandemic. Anxiety symptoms seem somewhat prevalent among older adults during the COVID-19 pandemic. During the pandemic, the more kinds of proactive coping actions taken by older adults, the more likely they felt anxious. As the pandemic continues and develops, taking proactive coping actions might no longer alleviate anxiety in older adults, showing a diminishing utility. In addition, face to face communication was found to decrease the likelihood of anxiety symptoms in older adults, whereas the opposite impact of electronic communication was found. For older adults, contacting others by electronic means may increase their anxiety feeling during the COVID-19 pandemic.

OBJECTIVE: To study the function of the RNA-binding protein Hfq in Bacillus subtilis cellulose decomposition. RESULTS: In the medium with sodium carboxymethylcellulose (Na-CMC) as the sole carbon source, the knockout of Hfq resulted in a 38.0% ± 2.1% and 76.6% ± 7.1% decrease in cellulose hydrolysis ability and cellulase activity, respectively. The results of real-time quantitative PCR revealed that several cellulase genes (eglS, bglA, and bglC) were significantly downregulated in the Hfq knockout strain. The isogenic Δhfq complemented strain recovered the cellulose hydrolysis ability, cellulase activity, and expression level of cellulase genes. In addition, the survival of Hfq mutant in stationary phase was significantly affected. CONCLUSION: RNA-binding protein Hfq is involved in the regulation of cellulose hydrolysis ability, cellulase activity, cellulase gene expression, and stationary phase survival.

Understanding the effect of charge transfer on the physical properties of metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) is essential for designing multifunctional MOF materials. In this work, three redox-active tetrathiafulvalene (TTF)-based MOFs, formulated as [Co6L6(bpe)6(EtOH)2(MeOH)2(H2O)]n·5nH2O (1), [Co5(µ3-OH)2L4(bpe)2]n (2), and [CoL(bpa)(H2O)]n·2nH2O (3) (L = dimethylthio-tetrathiafulvalene-bicarboxylate, bpe = 1,2-bis(4-pyridyl)ethene, bpa = 1,2-bis(4-pyridyl)ethane), are crystallographically characterized. Complexes 1 and 3 are two-dimensional (2D) coordination polymers, and 2 features an unusual three-dimensional (3D) MOF. The structure of 2 contains a cluster chain constructed from µ2-O bridged pentanuclear cluster subunits, which is first found for 3D MOFs. Complexes 1 and 2 are comprised of the same ligands L and bpe but with different multidimensional configuration, and complexes 1 and 3 have the same 2D layered structures with the same ligand L but with different conjugation ligand bpe/bpa, which provide a good comparison for the structure-property relationship. The charge-transfer (CT) interactions within MOF 1 are stronger than those of 2 due to the closer packing of electron donor (D) L and electron acceptor (A) bpe in 1, and no CT occurs within MOF 3 because of the unconjugated bpa. The order of photocurrent density is 1 > 2 ≫ 3, which is in accordance with that of CT interactions. Further analysis reveals that the CT interactions within the MOF are not beneficial for the supercapacitance which is verified by the highest supercapacitance performance of 3. This work is the first study of the structures and CT effects on the supercapacitance performance.

BACKGROUND: Microsporidia are common opportunistic parasites in humans and animals, including rabbits. However, only limited epidemiology data concern about the prevalence and molecular characterization of Enterocytozoon bieneusi and Encephalitozoon spp. in rabbits. This study is the first detection and genotyping of Microsporidia in pet rabbits in China. RESULTS: A total of 584 faecal specimens were collected from rabbits in pet shops from four cities in Sichuan province, China. The overall prevalence of microsporidia infection was 24.8% by nested PCR targeting the internal transcribed spacer (ITS) region of E. bieneusi and Encephalitozoon spp. respectively. E. bieneusi was the most common species (n = 90, 15.4%), followed by Encephalitozoon cuniculi (n = 34, 5.8%) and Encephalitozoon intestinalis (n = 16, 2.7%). Mixed infections (E. bieneusi and E. cuniculi) were detected in five another rabbits (0.9%). Statistically significant differences in the prevalence of microsporidia were observed among different cities (χ2 = 38.376, df = 3, P < 0.01) and the rabbits older than 1 year were more likely to harbour microsporidia infections (χ2 = 9.018, df = 2, P < 0.05). Eleven distinct genotypes of E. bieneusi were obtained, including five known (SC02, I, N, J, CHY1) and six novel genotypes (SCR01, SCR02, SCR04 to SCR07). SC02 was the most prevalent genotype in all tested cities (43.3%, 39/90). Phylogenetic analysis showed that these genotypes were clustered into group 1-3 and group 10. Meanwhile, two genotypes (I and II) were identified by sequence analysis of the ITS region of E. cuniculi. CONCLUSION: To the best of our knowledge, this is the first report of microsporidia infection in pet rabbits in China. Genotype SC02 and four novel genotypes were classified into potential zoonotic group 1, suggesting that pet rabbits may cause microsporidiosis in humans through zoonotic transmissions. These findings provide preliminary reference data for monitoring microsporidia infections in pet rabbits and humans.

Adipokines can affect intrauterine development while calf birthweight (CBW) is a breeding standard of calves, which reflects the status of fetal intrauterine development. To explore the correlation between placental adipokines and CBW, 54 healthy Chinese Holstein cows were used in the present study. The cows were grouped according to the CBW of their calves. Placentas were collected immediately after delivery and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay and reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction were used to detect the placental expression levels of adiponectin, leptin, visfatin and resistin. Our results show that the mRNA transcription and blood placental content of adiponectin, leptin, visfatin and resistin increased with increasing CBW. The analysis showed that the mRNA transcription levels of placental adiponectin, leptin and resistin were positively correlated with CBW. The mRNA and protein expression levels of adiponectin, leptin and visfatin between the three groups were significantly correlated. Placental resistin mRNA levels correlated positively with adiponectin mRNA, but not leptin or visfatin. The protein expression levels of resistin were significantly positively correlated with those of adiponectin, leptin and visfatin. These results suggest that placental adipokines play important roles in regulating calf intrauterine growth.

The purpose of this study was to characterize the antimicrobial resistance produced by mobile genetic elements and integron gene cassettes in Escherichia coli isolated from the feces of captive giant pandas. We performed a standard disk diffusion antimicrobial susceptibility test with 84 E. coli isolates and further evaluated the mobile genetic elements and integron gene cassettes. The antimicrobial susceptibility test demonstrated that 43.37% (36/84) of the isolates showed multiple drug resistances. The E. coli isolates mainly showed resistance to aztreonam (86.90%, 73/84) and amoxicillin/clavulanic acid (80.95%, 68/84). The most frequently observed resistance patterns were ampicillin/amoxicillin-clavulanic acid (13.10%, n = 11), and doxycycline/amoxicillin-clavulanic acid (4.76%, n = 4). Further analyses detected 11 mobile genetic elements, of which merA (54/84, 64.30%) had the highest frequency. All isolates were negative for intI3, traA, tnpU, traF, tnp513, tnsA, ISkpn7, ISpa7, ISkpn6, and ISCR1. We further analyzed antimicrobial resistance-related integrons among 30 E. coli isolates (the 27 intI1-positive isolates and the 3 intI2-positive isolates); six gene cassette profiles (dfrA17+aadA5, aadA2, dfrA12+aadA2, dfrA1+aadA1, dfrA1, and aadA1) were identified in the 27 intI1-positive isolates, but not in the three intI2-positive ones. Our study sheds light on the prevalence of multiple drug resistances and the diversity of mobile genetic elements in E. coli isolates, and highlights the necessity to monitor antibiotic resistance in more E. coli strains from captive giant pandas.

BACKGROUND: Trichosporon is the dominant genus of epidermal fungi in giant pandas (Ailuropoda melanoleuca) and causes local and deep infections. To provide the information needed for the diagnosis and treatment of trichosporosis in giant pandas, the sequence of ITS, D1/D2, and IGS1 loci in 29 isolates of Trichosporon spp. which were isolated from the body surface of giant pandas were combination to investigate interspecies identification and genotype. Morphological development was examined via slide culture. Additionally, mice were infected by skin inunction, intraperitoneal injection, and subcutaneous injection for evaluation of pathogenicity. RESULTS: The twenty-nine isolates of Trichosporon spp. were identified as 11 species, and Trichosporon jirovecii and T. asteroides were the commonest species. Four strains of T. laibachii and one strain of T. moniliiforme were found to be of novel genotypes, and T. jirovecii was identified to be genotype 1. T. asteroides had the same genotype which involved in disseminated trichosporosis. The morphological development processes of the Trichosporon spp. were clearly different, especially in the processes of single-spore development. Pathogenicity studies showed that 7 species damaged the liver and skin in mice, and their pathogenicity was stronger than other 4 species. T. asteroides had the strongest pathogenicity and might provoke invasive infection. The pathological characteristics of liver and skin infections caused by different Trichosporon spp. were similar. CONCLUSIONS: Multiple species of Trichosporon were identified on the skin surface of giant panda, which varied in morphological development and pathogenicity. Combination of ITS, D1/D2, and IGS1 loci analysis, and morphological development process can effectively identify the genotype of Trichosporon spp.

Canine parvovirus 2 (CPV-2) was first identified in 1978, and is responsible for classic parvoviral enteritis. Despite the widespread vaccination of domestic carnivores, CPVs have remained important pathogens of domestic and wild carnivores. In this study, we isolated CPV-2 from Tibetan mastiffs and performed a global analysis of the complete VP2 gene sequences of CPV-2 strains in China. Six isolates were typed as new CPV-2a, according to key amino acid positions. On a phylogenetic tree, these six sequences formed a distinct clade. Five isolates occurred on the same branch as KF785794 from China and GQ379049 from Thailand; CPV-LS-ZA1 formed a separate subgroup with FJ435347 from China. One hundred ninety-eight sequences from various parts of China and the six sequences isolated here formed seven distinct clusters, indicating the high diversity of CPVs in China. Of 204 VP2 sequences, 183 (91.04%) encoded the mutation Ser297Ala, regardless of the antigenic type, implying that most Chinese CPV-2 strains contain the VP2 mutation Ser297Ala. However, the biological significance of this change from prototype CPV-2a/2b to new CPV-2a/2b types remains unclear. This study is the first to isolate new CPV-2a from the Tibetan mastiff. Our data show that new CPV-2a/2b variants are now circulating in China.

Bacillus group is a prevalent community of Giant Panda's intestinal flora, and plays a significant role in the field of biological control of pathogens. To understand the diversity of Bacillus group from the Giant Panda intestine and their functions in maintaining the balance of the intestinal microflora of Giant Panda, this study isolated a significant number of strains of Bacillus spp. from the feces of Giant Panda, compared the inhibitory effects of these strains on three common enteric pathogens, investigated the distributions of six universal antimicrobial genes (ituA, hag, tasA, sfp, spaS and mrsA) found within the Bacillus group by PCR, and analyzed the characterization of antimicrobial gene distributions in these strains using statistical methods. The results suggest that 34 strains of Bacillus spp. were isolated which has not previously been detected at such a scale, these Bacillus strains could be classified into five categories as well as an external strain by 16S rRNA; Most of Bacillus strains are able to inhibit enteric pathogens, and the antimicrobial abilities may be correlated to their categories of 16S rRNA; The detection rates of six common antimicrobial genes are between 20.58 %(7/34) and 79.41 %(27/34), and genes distribute in three clusters in these strains. We found that the antimicrobial abilities of Bacillus strains can be one of the mechanisms by which Giant Panda maintains its intestinal microflora balance, and may be correlated to their phylogeny.

Background: Titanium (Ti) surface with nanotubes array via anodization has been used in dental implants to enhance bone regeneration but little research was carried out to evaluate whether the presence of highly ordered or disorderly distributed nanotubes array on titanium surface would have an effect on cell behaviors of gingival fibroblasts. Methods: The present study fabricated nanotubes arrays with varied topography under different constant voltage of electrochemical anodization in fluorine-containing electrolyte. Human gingival fibroblasts (HGFs) from extracted third molar were harvested and co-cultured with titanium disks with different nanotubes topography. Then cell behaviors of gingival fibroblasts including cell proliferation, adhesive morphology and cell migration were estimated to investigate the influence of titanium nanotubes on cell biology. Besides, gene and protein expression of adhesion molecule (integrin ß1/ß4/α6, fibronectin, intracellular adhesion molecule-1 and collagen type I) were detected to evaluate the influence of different surfaces on cell adhesion. Results: Highly ordered arrays of nanotubes with pore diameter of 60 nm and 100 nm were fabricated under 30 and 40 V of anodization (TNT-30 and TNT-40) while disorderedly distributed nanotube arrays formed on the titanium surface under 50 V of anodization (TNT-50). Our results demonstrated that compared with raw titanium surface and disorderly nanotubes, surface with orderly nanotubes array increased cell area and aspect ratio, as well as cell migration ability in the early phase of cell adhesion (p<0.05). Besides, compared with raw titanium surface, gene and protein expression of adhesion molecules were upregulated in nanotubes groups to different extents, no matter whether in an orderly or disorderly array. Conclusion: Within the limitations of our study, we conclude that compared with raw titanium surface, the presence of nanotubes array on titanium surface could enhance cells adhesion and cell migration in the early phase. And compared with disorderly distributed nanotubes, highly ordered nanotubes array might provide a much more favorable surface for gingival fibroblasts to achieve a tight adhesion on the materials.

Accurately controlling magnetic and spin states presents a significant challenge in spintronics, especially as demands for higher data storage density and increased processing speeds grow. Approaches such as light control are gradually supplanting traditional magnetic field methods. Traditionally, the modulation of magnetism was predominantly achieved through polarized light with the help of ultrafast light technologies. With the growing demand for energy efficiency and multifunctionality in spintronic devices, integrating photovoltaic materials into magnetoelectric systems has introduced more physical effects. This development suggests that sunlight will play an increasingly pivotal role in manipulating spin orientation in the future. This review introduces and concludes the influence of various light types on magnetism, exploring mechanisms such as magneto-optical (MO) effects, light-induced magnetic phase transitions, and spin photovoltaic effects. This review briefly summarizes recent advancements in the light control of magnetism, especially sunlight, and their potential applications, providing an optimistic perspective on future research directions in this area.
