RESUMO

To be born secretly is to be born without filiation, to experience abandonment, early separation and rupture. Birth in secret is governed by numerous laws designed to protect both mother and child. It is important to specify that newborns born in secret have specific needs that must be met. That's why the support provided by the nursery nurse is essential.

RESUMO

Since 2015, the Gironde has been divided into nine territorial poles in which the Mother and Child Protection teams operate. As part of this restructuring, a new position of nursery nurse was created: that of pole relay nursery nurse. This link between the management and the field is innovative and aims to improve the coordination of work.

RESUMO

Prevention of shaken baby syndrome exists, but it is still largely insufficient, particularly due to a lack of visibility. In a society where parents are often alone, under great stress and with a demand for perfection, how can these acts be avoided? A meeting with Cécile Morison, a mother and child protection nurse in the Isère region, who offers prevention activities for parents leaving the maternity ward, as well as for childminders.

RESUMO

Observation, better than any other tool, provides a more detailed understanding of the situation for a child and his parents, whatever the context in which the meeting takes place. However, if observation has fundamental virtues, it needs to be learned and taught. This is done through patient and rigorous learning throughout the professional career of a paediatric nurse.

RESUMO

During the first wave of the epidemic, current events have given pride of place to the hospital world, its difficulties and its successes. However, everything relating to maternal and child welfare (PMI) or the liberal practice of the profession has been almost non-existent. Yet these professionals remained mobilised throughout the confinement of the spring. Interview with Fabienne Grillère and Pauline Le Masson, two nursery nurses from PMIs in Grenoble.

RESUMO

The main mission of paediatric emergency departments is to assess the health status of children and perform a triage depending on their pathology. The role of the children's health nurse is essential for delivering the care but also for constructing, with the young patient and the family, a relationship of trust. To do so, she uses her knowledge and expertise to support these vulnerable families.

RESUMO

Neonatal intensive care is an emotionally charged unit. In addition to delivering specific care to the premature newborn, the role of the caregivers is to support the parents in their new role and to include them in the care. The creation of the bond between the parents and the premature infant in this context is specific. The children's nurse, through touch and the practice of skin-to-skin contact, can help them establish these first bonds.

RESUMO

From birth, touch meets a fundamental need for the child. During a care procedure, the child is subjected to 'technical touch' which can generate negative emotions, such as anxiety which increases the pain. The children's nurse can prevent this pain through pharmacological or non-pharmacological means. Just like distraction through play or hypnosis, touch, a powerful communication tool, constitutes a resource for the prevention and fight against care-induced pain. 'Toucher-massage®' is a particularly precious tool in the nurse-patient relationship.

RESUMO

The relationship between the interventions of liaison psychiatry and those of general medicine is essential. The psychologist, notably, plays an important role in a paediatric intensive care unit. A double temporality, somatic and psychological, is to be taken into account in order to hear, beyond the individual, what the subjet has to say.

RESUMO

As the stay in maternity hospitals gets shorter, parents often feel helpless upon their return home. It is therefore necessary to identify resource professionals to help them on the continuation of the care pathway. The children's nurses from the mother and infant welfare protection service, a frontline service accessible to everyone, provide their expertise to meet the basic needs of the child and support the parents in the development of their skills.

RESUMO

Infant care homes cater for children up to the age of 3. The work of the nurse and the child health nurse lies at the heart of the care project, helping the children to construct themselves and develop. The harmonisation of practices and continuity are essential notions.

RESUMO

In neonatal intensive care, the management of babies born prematurely requires particular vigilance from caregivers. Specific care procedures include enteral feeding and the development of the diet, the monitoring of vital signs, venous access management, blood withdrawal, phototherapy and obligatory screening. The nursing role is essential in this context.

RESUMO

Premature babies are particularly vulnerable and exposed to pain and discomfort. To improve the quality of care, an alliance of skills between nurses, children's nurses and the psychomotor therapist has been set up in a neonatal intensive care unit.

RESUMO

Learning the nursing clinical approach enables student child health nurses to formalise implicit clinical reasoning and to use it in their daily practices. Implemented during their training as well as in their future professional practice, it helps to improve the quality of care, including the skills of the child and their family.

RESUMO

Collaborative work forms part of the well-treatment and improvement of quality of care approach. It is also of benefit to the medical and paramedical teams. Within the parent-child unit of Libourne hospital, the midwife and child health nurse collaborate throughout the pregnancy, and especially during the post-partum period. The teams work together notably around the care of "high-risk" births and in particular when the newborn is hospitalised in a kangaroo care unit.

RESUMO

A child health nurse from the mother and infant welfare protection service describes her work in prisons, with women prisoners and their children. A unique experience in which professionalism and emotion go hand in hand. Indeed, while prison is a place of detention, it can also be a place of care and support.

RESUMO

The diagnosis of cystic fibrosis can upset the relationship between parents and their baby. The announcement signals the disappearance of the "perfect child" and it can be associated with a feeling of guilt on the part of the parents. The child health nurse has a central role in supporting the family during this difficult period, in order to favour the parent-child bond.

RESUMO

The establishment of the mother-baby bond can prove difficult. It is essential to support parents as they get to know their child. Based on the observation of interactions between mothers and their babies, a practical tool has been created by a child health nurse to encourage professionals to be more attentive to the difficulties of bonding, as well as the strong points and resources which mothers can develop. The care management of vulnerable families is thereby optimised.
