ABSTRACT
Outpatients, premedicated with atropine i.v. (n=54) or the combination droperidol-fentanylatropine (n=123) complain significantly less frequently about nausea and/or vomiting than patients receiving pentazocine-atropine (n=64). Patients receiving the combination droperidol-fentanyl-atropine are significantly more sleepy and dysphoric in the post-anesthetic period. We do not recommend any premedication in outpatients with the possible exception of atropine.
