Rede de atenção à saúde e educação em saúde, a intersecção necessária: sífilis em gestante e congênita no município de Esteio / The health care networks and health education, the intersection required: syphilis in pregnant and congenital in the municipality of Esteio
Syphilis is a serious public health problem. The City of Esteio Rio Grande do Sul was the chosen location to conduct this study, as it demonstrates an increasing number of cases of congenital syphilis even though it has structure for childbirth care. The overall objective of this work was to identify the strengths and weaknesses in the Health Care Networks of Esteio City, in relation to health education and care for pregnant, their neonates and partners with syphilis. The specific objectives were to map the services related to the care of the congenital and pregnant syphilis and to contribute with strategies for dealing with the disease. The study used qualitative methodology applied in the form of case study. The first phase conducted a bibliographic research on institutional sites and GovernmentHealth database, targeting to identify and map the RAS. Second phase included 13 individual interviews with semistructured questions, applied to manager, doctors and nurses the Primary Health and maternity, Health Surveillance Professionals and Community Health Agents. The research applied speechanalysis to understand the perception of the interviewed around the care of congenital syphilis, in comparison with the reality of the city. The results identified that the professionals have an essential role in the health carepolicies and health education, and weaknesses related to the financing and structure of the RAS. The complexity related to a Sexually Transmitted Disease (STD) raises considering the technical, management, political, pedagogical and mainly individual and social dimensions. Assuntos Syphilis.
